Ok so I'll start it off.

Has anyone else had a huge increase in discharge? It's gone from clear and not too much to thick and white, and copious amounts.

Hi Yarnie and welcome. Is this your first baby - your comment about denial made me laugh

grinningbee · 01/03/2009 12:22

There's been another baby this morning!!

Check out the "Should I head to hospital thread"

Wish it was me, lol.

laweaselmys · 01/03/2009 12:36

all this popping is getting me excited about meeting my little bundle some time soon. :O

My cycle was generally 28 days so we'll see. Expecting to go over though, I had better now cause I'm so not prepared.

Woke up this morning with very bad back pain and had to rush to lift a heavy box to get out to the bathroom. Ended up shouting DP out of bed to move the box as I was in too much pain, he moved it and went back to bed not even concerned about my agony. Hope he pays more attention when I go into labour. As for the pain, have no idea what it was, can only assume baby had an uncomfortable night?! lasted about 10mins while he was pushing out front then nothing. I hope thats not what a BH feels like cause it was pretty sore. awch.

corgikelly · 01/03/2009 15:24

It's all SO EXCITING (and I never get excited about babies). Lolianja's story is like something out of the movies...

And I cannot believe that some of you women are popping them out and then getting online a couple of hours later to chat - I fully expect to be prostrated with the vapours for days afterward.

Am feeling smug because I made Indian lentil soup, tomato-chilli pasta sauce, potato gratin, shepherd's pie and braised lentils with pancetta for the freezer today. The only problem is I'm not sure how all of it is going to squeeze into the admittedly tiny space - so we may be eating a lot for the next couple of days!

Can someone please motivate me to pack my hospital bag? I've got everything together in a pile on the floor (including the OH-so-sexy nursing bras I acquired yesterday - I feel like Margaret Thatcher's nan in them) but I can't seem to get over the final hurdle and put it all in a bag...

goldmother2b · 01/03/2009 15:37

hello ladies

Well, I'm now on countdown - have to be at the hospital for 8.45 tomorrow morning for my induction!

I had 4 or 5 hours of irregular contractions yesterday, hopefully my cervix doing its thang means that things will go smoothly tomorrow and kick off pretty easily.

Have decided to go for the balloon option rather than the gel option if my cervix needs to be further dilated in order for them to rupture my membranes.

Will try and get online on my mobile and post if I'm up to it / things aren't happening as quickly as they should.

Wish me luck!

Millie26 · 01/03/2009 15:49

Oh wow! Congrats to everyone who has had their baby and welcome to all the new little ones - amazing.

Loli's story is amazing, espec as wasnt a girl in the end! Wonder how many of us that will happen to??

Corgikelly - try to imagine being in labour and wanting to concentrate on contractions/bouncing on birth ball/leaning over sofa etc. and then realising that someone else will have to pack your hospital bag from the stuff on the floor and how annoying as they obviously they wont do it as neatly or in the right order as you will, especially if its a man

You have been v organised with your freezer food so write a list of things you need to do, including food and hospital bag and then feel really really smug when you can cross them both off.

Probably need to reward yourself with chocolate. What a shame.

Millie26 · 01/03/2009 15:49

ooo and goldmother - GOOD LUCK!!!

lollipopz · 01/03/2009 17:02

Wow! I am only just catching up! Big congrats to all the new mums and babies!

meep · 01/03/2009 17:44

here's the link to lolijana's thread if you haven't seen it yet!

Congratulations two/threecute - can't wait to see the baby pics!

All these birth stories have made me dissolve into floods of tears! I rememnber this from last time - I just cry if I hear/see anything about babies being born - I am a big sap . If you knew me youwould just laugh because I really am not a baby type of person - but the last few weeks of pregnancy just really get to me!

Wheelybug · 01/03/2009 18:33

Good luck tomorrow goldmother - look forward to hearing your news when you are able !

Looks sternly at Corgi - come on, pack your bag. I hadn't with dd and dh had to do it which led to him bringing everything bar the kitchen sink in. That said, I did mine so long ago now so as not to bein the same situation I've forgotten whats in them !

I bought a pineapple today and held a newish born baby (6 weeks - might not be young enough). Any other old wives tales I can try to get going . I attended dd's NCT group's 4th birthday party today which I had organised which was my goal in getting to so now baby can come any time...

Shall I update the list ?? Its v. exciting seeing the growing number of born babies.

MKG · 01/03/2009 18:47

Good luck to goldmother!

Congrats to twocute and lolianja!!

Well I'm in the race. I had a bloody show right as I walked into work this morning. DS2 was born less than 24 hours after the first one I had with him. Will keep everyone posted.

Wow, just popped on between feeds, congratulations to the new mummies and new arrivals!

And corgi? We're not super women or anything, just stuck in hospital beds with net access and being too wired to sleep!

Sunshinesmith · 01/03/2009 20:14

This is just too exciting ! ! ! Cannot stop checking this thread.....xxx

Boobz · 01/03/2009 20:26

Welcome Alex and James! Have I missed 2cute's birth story somewhere? Did she have her homebirth??

Still here Fearless. Had a dinner party for 12 on Friday night which was fun but knackering - didn't get to bed until after 3am which is the latest in a long while and spent a lot of Saturday morning sleeping it off with DH watching the rugby in bed on iplayer and the dog nestled at the end of the bed. Bliss. Clearing up the mess when I got downstairs wasn't so lovely, but it's all done now and the house is spotless so I want this baby to arrive tomorrow so I don't have to clean up again before it comes!

Fantastic story Lolly and Paul! Classic!

Yarnie · 01/03/2009 20:58

I've just been reading Loli's birth story - so lovely and exciting! I've heard so many stories about rapid deliveries recently. I'm sternly telling myself not to get my hopes up. A good friend had her baby girl in 5 hours from first twinge (experienced while attending the ballet - so civilised). No doubt I'll end up having a marathon labour and needing a foil sheet and a cheering mob to go with that Lucozade in my hospital bag.

Thanks for the welcome. Yep, I'm expecting my first.

Who's next?

corgikelly · 01/03/2009 21:03

Good luck to goldmother2b and MKG - I'm putting my money on MKG to nip across the line first .

Thanks for the dire warning and stern looks, Millie and Wheelybug - the good thing is that I've got a bunch of conference calls lined up tomorrow - so I can just put the phone on speaker and mute and pack away!

And laumiere, don't destroy my illusions - as far as I can tell, you're ALL superwomen!

corgikelly · 01/03/2009 21:12

Just put a couple of 37-week pics, taken today, in my profile. I look like I've swallowed a space hopper.

And when I look back at the 24-week shot, and remember thinking I was HUGE then...oy vey. Reality check, anyone?

honey123 · 01/03/2009 21:17

Congrats to all the new mums & bubs! I'm so jealous as I reckon I'm now overdue, well it's 9pm on my due date and no sign of anything happening. had a show last weekend and lots of BH with loads of nesting feelings bt now I'm just fed up! I know he will come when he is ready but as I want home birth I really dont want to be induced. Any ideas other than the usual stuff for starting things off let me know. Thanks
