Ok so I'll start it off.

Has anyone else had a huge increase in discharge? It's gone from clear and not too much to thick and white, and copious amounts.

DD keeps asking when baby is coming?

Come on ladies... we are nearly there.....x x x

wrolf · 03/03/2009 17:40

hello, all

Dinny here - I have had my baby!

she's a girl, born Sunday 1st March at midday, 9.1 lb after worst labour of all three and bad tearing!!

she is gorgeous though - just am taking some time to recover!

all the best to those left to pop!

jollyjoanne · 03/03/2009 18:35

Congrats Dinny!

Still no sign of action here, although I am getting increasingly uncomfortable and there seems to be loads of aches and pains which I keep thinking might be something when in all likelihood it is just that I have been sat in the same position for more than 10 mins.

meep · 03/03/2009 18:56

CONGRATULATIONS Dinny! Sorry you had such a tough time - you'd think it would be easier by no3!

Congratulations Dinny ! Hope you heal very soon.

emma2617 · 03/03/2009 22:52

Thanks for the warm welcome back ladies...I had almost forgotten how lovely it was on here!

bib you just cheered me up immensely! Props for admitting to it...thanks for sharing!!!!

laweasel due to my absence I didnt know your car broke...but I really hope you get your car back ASAP!

I am having some serious twinges now, they seem to get more frequent each day but even so they get worse throughout the evening and I go to bed hopeful and wake up disappointed!!

I had a scan a last tuesday because of 2 episodes of reduced fetal movement abd baby was estimated at 6lb 6oz, so I am hoping that it was accurate as that means even with the average 15g per day weight gain, if i go 2 weeks overdue (although id rather not!) he would be 7lb bang on! Heres hoping!

Congrats Dinny thats a big 'un! Hope the healing is quick!

babyinbelly · 04/03/2009 02:42

Not sure if anyone about. Hoping tonight will be the night. Was getting pain in belly early this evening- Then had really hot curry that DP made and they got worse. By 10pm they were sort of stopped so I went to bed to wake up at 1am with contratctions. Very random but longest time between so far is 20minutes and shortest time 1minute. Might be nothing and stop but heres hoping...

rubyring · 04/03/2009 03:58

oooh, how exciting bib! i am wide awake with insomnia here, so i'll check in again soon! congrats to dinny - tea tree oil baths helped me with dd1 and stitches, hope you feel bit better soon. Am 37 + 3 today, like many of you, lots of twinges, lots of going to the loo, started on the pineapple and spicey food doesn't seem to be doing a bloody thing tho! bet i go overdue gah! am very excited about all these births, they have all brought a tear to my eye!

Boobz · 04/03/2009 08:04

Any news BIB? I haven't had a sausage of a sign that this baby is coming. No Braxton Hicks, no tightenings at all, no bowel movements, no nausea, nada! Same old same old except back ache and rib ache is getting worse. Boo! Don't want to wait until due date let alone go overdue! Gah!

But if Sod's law is a real law of physics, then I will go into labour today as my lovely midwife is off duty (she specifically said not to go into labour today) and DH is away over night in Cheltenham on a course, which is the last time he will be away before the babe is born. So between them both being away, I reckon tonight's the night...

jollyjoanne · 04/03/2009 08:47

Ooooh BiB sounds exciting. Hopefully we will hear from you in a couple of days with another little baby.

Still nothing happening here and it is now 39+3 looks like I am going full term and beyond. Have to say though the aches and pains and twinges are starting to get to me and I am really quite looking forward to not being pregnant anymore.

Dinny congratulations on your lovely little girl, & I hope the tear heals quickly and easily! (Isn't the third labour supposed to be the 'odd' one?)

bib that sounds hopeful! Fingers crossedfor you.

Boobz & wheelybug, I've been getting strong BH's for about 2 weeks but I never had noticable ones with my first pg. First sign of labour was my waters going, plug didn't go till the next morning and DS wasn't born for 23 hours from the start of labour...

I just keep telling myself that the BH's are all doing something - I think they shorten the cervix rather than opening it.

This is getting rambling and confused - must go and fit the new loo seat (a 'family toilet trainer with tiny toddler insert seat!) as someone arrived at the door with it in a huge box for me just now....

Ramble, ramble (is confusion a sign of imminant labour anyone?)

babyinbelly · 04/03/2009 10:00

Still here this morning ladies. Rather dissapointed TBH. Fell asleep at 4am and everything stopped after that. Was sure something was happening as really strong contractions and was wide awake tidying the house at 3am. But not today. boo

Wheelybug · 04/03/2009 10:37

Hope things get going for you again BiB - how frustrating.

Just off for my second reflexology session. I don't know if it was that, or just hormones changing but I feel so much better this week. Loads of energy and just want to get on with it.

Am going to assume the braxton hicks are nothing to get too excited about but are hopefully doing some good!

meep · 04/03/2009 10:57

I am nesting! I have sorted out the baby toys from the toddler toys. I am about to start shredding paperwork. The bump is protesting a bit but I feel so much beeter for tackling something!

wheely I loved reflexology - though I did find it bl**dy painful at times!

lollipopz · 04/03/2009 11:48

Congratulations Dinny hope yiu heal quickly, great weight well done you!

Nothing here yet except some odd tightenings now and then
Labour vibes to you all x xx

Millie26 · 04/03/2009 11:59

Hi ladies, just popped on v quickly.

Congrats to Dinny! Wheely I'm exactly the same with the evening BHs. It it more uncomfortable than painful, as you say, but does mainly seem to happen in the evening. Rocking on my gym ball helps, as does complaining and getting DP to rub my tummy

This is my frist, so I cant tell you whether this is an imminent sign or not. Went to the midwife this morning though and she said the baby was almost fully engaged so they must be nearly there! Yay!

CaptainKarvol · 04/03/2009 12:11

Has anyone elses baby slowed down a lot?

I'm 38+3 (I think) and no more big kicks, just rolling and crossing/uncrossing of legs, I think. I remember having a panic at about this stage with DS, and going into the maternity hospital for monitoring (which was all fine), so I'm trying not to be daft here.

megzyboo · 04/03/2009 13:18

Congrats Dinny!

I went for my 36week checkup yesterday and the MW thinks the baby is big. Measuring 38cm and just read I'm 1/5 engaged (she never told me that). I'm so worried about labour now, I knew bump was big but was hoping that was mainly baby fat, not that I was hoping for a lot of that either. Going to have to give the perineum massage another go I think. Not looking forward to birth day.

RE: bras
I got measured in M&S before and ended up with boulder holder up round the back of my neck, think she used the tape back to front or something but I guess that might just have been a bad measurer. Think I will try Debinhams, usually just stick to freya but it appears their maternity range doesn't go as big as their other ranges? a bit odd.

twocutedarlings · 04/03/2009 13:32

Hi girls,

Sorry ive not been on sooner to give you the full details of Alex's exciting arrival!! ive not has chance to read any posts so i am sorry if i have missed any new arrivals, i will have to catch up later .

So here goes!!

Friday the 27th of Feb,

I felt so hormonal all day very weepy, and just generally down in dumps!!

6pm Friday niggly type pain not painful more like the type when you need the toilet but more of a tummy ache, i had a bath and took a couple of paracetamol and they disapear, of corse leaving me totally gutted!! so i sit there for the rest of the evening like a bear with a sore head (even snapped my dear old dads head off when he popped over to see how i was ).

10pm Took myself off to bed before i murdered DH!!

Sat 28th Of Feb,

6am Woke up with same tummy, but feeling less hormonal and in a much better frame of mind decided to just ignore the pain and get on with my day - i certainly didnt want another day like yesterday.

7am DH and the girls wake, we have breakfast and plan our day.

9am DH and his father keep an allockment and over the last couple of mths DH and the girls have been building a chicken coop. We decided to surprise the girls and buy them some hens !! the drive down to the poultry farm is a mile long dirt track, very bumpy and only just passable in our non 4x4 car tbh. On the way down there the pain started to get a little more intense, it wasnt contractions and by this point the girls were so excited about getting their new hens, so we just carried on with our plans bought 10 very clucky hens and set off back up the dirt road . Again thanks to the bumpy drive the pain get a little sharper.

11.30am We arrive at DHs allocment and introduce our hens to their new home, the pain again steps up a gear to the point where i decide maybe i shouldnt just ignore it and we head off home.

12.30pm I have a light lunch and allow myself to believe that i may well be in early labour - but decided to have a bath and see what happens.

1pm The pain continues while in bath and is now more contraction like, but not really painful, just like a strong period type pain but it is coming in waves.

1.30pm Decided to ring MW as the pain steps up a gear and i am at the point where i need to put my tens machine on. Due to DD2s speedy arrival i have been told to ring at the first sign of labour. Thankfully the CMW is not far from us and comes straight over, the girls where out playing with my dad in the garden at this point.

2pm MW arrives check BP baby HB, and i have 4 30 second long contractions in the time it takes her to do that but there is still no regular pattern to the contractions they are all over the place some coming at 5 mins apart and others on top of each other, they are still managable and i can still chat with MW while i am having them.

2.15pm MW and i go upstairs where she does an very quick internal and checks position of baby. She then tells me that she will ring and update the second MW and then give my a progress report hence a very look from me lol, she lets the second MW know that i am 4cm, my waters are buldging and when they go we will have a baby very quickly, hence a very VERY face from me . At this point the girls are still here playing in the garden with DH and my Dad, but the girls still dont actually know that the baby is on his way. I dash around packing them an over night bag!! (well you never know this could still be a long day/night!!)

2.45pm I give the girls a very tearful good bye and tell them i will call them when there little brother arrives, DD1 quizzes the MW for info on what time the baby will be born, she has AS and details on time are extremely important to her i assure her that i will call her as soon as the baby is here and the MW tells her she only have to wait an hour or so . I will add that the MW is a lady in her late 60s and in her 40 year carrier so far has delivered over 300 babies at home, and obviously knew her stuff!!

3pm The girls are gone and as if to que the contractions really heat up!! they are every 2mins lasting a minute and i stand in the front window willing the second MW to arrive with G&A.

3.15pm Second MW arrives and i finally get my lovely G&A !! at this point i disappear in myself and i have very little memory of the next half hour, but apparently i am very quiet and calm, and knelt up against the lounge chair with my head on DHs lap with his arm in a vice like grip

3.45 I can feel the baby pushing down and i suddenly feel far more in control, i didnt have any urge to push and the MW tells me just to breath my way through it, i start feel lots of pressure and reach down just as his head start to appear.

3.50 At this point my water break and the head crowns along with a hand, i then give a massive push with the next contraction and the head is out, very quickly followed at 3.52 by a body and little Alex screams his way into the world superman style.

I have just a tiny 1st degree tear (which is now healing nicely) which i would escaped if Alex had not had his hand across his face.

Even though all this was just 4 days ago it feels like ages ago, Alex had slotted into our family like a dream, he is a very chilled out and contented baby, that basically just feeds and sleeps!.

Well i shall leave this here, as the new love of my life is ready for his feed xxxx

twocutedarlings · 04/03/2009 13:36

OMG what a big post for such a short labour .

Mandy73 · 04/03/2009 13:40

Hi lovely ladies,

All shock and euphoria here Felix was born 26th feb at 36+6 after waters broke 2.30am & a six hour labour before having my planned CS turn into an 'emergency' CS (although there was no emergency really) BLISSFULLY happy.

He is beautiful and too light at 2.5 kg but we were allowed home after only two nights as I feel so well. Now it's Planet Baby/military operation around here with breast pumping and force feeding around the clock but everything's going in the right direction and DH is putting in a heroic effort - I feel like a queen.

Will post pic soon. This is the best thing EVER. xx

meep · 04/03/2009 13:49

twocute and Mandy you've reduced me to floods of tears - these lovely birth stories are just too much for my hormones.

Mandy haveing been through some of what you went through in the beginning I am so glad that you are now cuddling little Felix and so happy that you are experiencing that baby euphoria

Wheelybug · 04/03/2009 13:52

Wowee Congratulations Mandy - welcome to Felix. Am glad all is going well.

Great post twocutes - bought a tear to my eye . Glad he has settled in well.

CaptainKarvol - I think its quite normal for movements to slow down. Theoretically by this stage they should be changing position less so you're not likely to feel such big movements. I seem to still go through days of big movements followed by days of less movement. I mentioned to my conusltant on friday that I thought I was having the same amount of movements but they were smaller movements and she wasn't remotely concerned.
