Ok so I'll start it off.

Has anyone else had a huge increase in discharge? It's gone from clear and not too much to thick and white, and copious amounts.

My yoga teacher recommends foot up on bath to reach.... but then she's a yoga teacher so more bendy than most !! I haven't tried it although had intended to have done by now....

megzyboo · 27/02/2009 20:40

Ooh so many babies already! congratulations folks! is it really sore? I'm getting worried now, bump seems bigger every day. I tried the perineal massage too, well DP (?? not up to date with these letters) did -its too far away these days and it really hurt! So from now on I'm keeping my legs crossed, still hoping to move before the big day anyways and not due till last day in March so hoping for an April baby really. I heard the longer your menstrual cycle is the longer the bun takes in the oven? so to speak. Is there any truth in it?

lizziemun · 27/02/2009 21:59

MEGZYBOO

I don't know about the length of your cycle then the longer the bun takes to cook.

I didn't have a AF for 6 months when i fell for dd1 and she was born at 39 wks. With dd2 i was having a AF every 28 to 35days and she was born at 41+2wks.

OMG kanga - I can feel your fear - what stupid people at the school!

Congratulations to Ceedub and welcome to the world to Freya!

I am finally on maternity leave. I was meant to finish at 1pm on Friday followed by a nice lunch with my work chums then a wee wander round the shops. I ended up working till 7pm and have just finished the last bits of this morning! But I am finished and my feet are being placed firmly on the sofa for the next 3 weeks (unless otherwises dictated to by the whirlwind toddler that is dd!). Junior is NOT allowed to come out until his/her eviction date on the 23rd .

Typically though, now that I am able to relax I have developed a horrid cold. I woke myself up 3 times this morning by letting out loud piggy snorts!

I tried the perineal massage last time - but it was just another thing to summon up the energy to do so I gave up!

jollyjoanne · 28/02/2009 08:56

Congrats Ceedub! Kanga that would scare the life out of me, you'd think the school might have second checked this before phoning!

Not even bothered with the massaging of the perineum, can't reach and as it is already scared from previous non-pregnancy related surgery not sure that it is going to stretch as well it should anyway. But must say as well as the very sore and swollen lady bits the perimeum area has definitely started to recede of its own accord anyway. I know, I know TMI sorry .

And is anyone else feeling really really hot, whenever I look in the mirror my face looks bright red, and I am permanently roasting. Goodness only knows what I would be like if the weather was actually nice!

HopingCat · 28/02/2009 10:18

Meg
I think it is true that a regular 28ish day cycle means your due date is likely to be accurate, so you are likely to have baby around your due date. If your cycle is longer you are therefore more likely to have been given a date that isn't as accurate, because don't all midwifes work off those little wheels and the wheels work on a 28 day cycle. However, if you have an impatient baby or your body is just ready to go, you'll have an early baby anyway so theres probably no medical science in it. I have a regular cycle and DD arrived on her due date. My friend has a 35 day cycle and was over a week overdue with both her babies. But this could be coincidence and there will probably be loads of people on this thread who can prove the theory wrong.

I feel less like I'm about to go into labour this weekend than I did last weekend, but have been told by MW that the backache and BH from last weekend could have been 'fixing pains' so its all a good sign. Am only 38+2 so its still a bit early really I suppose.

Meg - I have a 27 day cycle and DD was born a day before her due date, so there might be some truth in cycle length affecting gestation. However, I think there are so many other factors in play it's probably best to take it with a hefty pinch of salt.

Fearless - what crap timing re chicken pox! Here's hoping you can hold on for a few weeks until it's out of the way.

I feel really fed up today too - just feel like I've hit a wall in pregnancy where I feel heavy, tired and sapped of all energy. My belly looks like a tiger's skin with all the stretch marks and I've got heartburn. I just want this baby out!

Hope everyone's having a nice Saturday!!

Missmodular · 28/02/2009 14:56

By the way, I also meant to wish everyone who's sprogged already HUGE congratulations!!!

MKG · 28/02/2009 16:57

Well, I'm still here and still pregnant. I don't think I'll be next.

twocute hasn't posted since Friday morning and she was overdue 2 days then...I wonder what she is doing this weekend????

Meg I have a 32 day cycle and all my babies have gone over 4 to 12 days. Maybe if we get enough stats we might have an experiment!

Missmodular I expect you will get past the wall when the time comes and you will summon energy you never thought you had. Maybe your body is telling you to rest as something major is to happen soon.

wrolf · 28/02/2009 18:19

hhi all, been offline for ages, who has sprogged? I can't work this new format!

I've been having increased discharge (boak) but am not sure if it's waters leaking or not

also am sooooo uncomfy and low down and a few contractions

would love this baby to arrive on 2nd as it's mil's birthday...we'll see!

thesockmonsterofdoom · 28/02/2009 19:26

kanga5 · 28/02/2009 19:29

Wheelybug · 28/02/2009 20:07

oooh - has twocutes joined the postnatal list. Go on sockmonster - we won't tell anyone .

I also saw a thread where Lolijana's waters had gone so she can't be too far behind.

On the cycle front - I had follicle tracking in the cycle I fell pregnant so know my due date is pretty accurate (might be a day or two behind) so I will be able to help out on the scientific study ! I should have this baby 14/15th March if its true !

Wheelybug · 28/02/2009 20:08

Yarnie · 28/02/2009 20:52

Hello all - I'm a long time lurker. I just wanted to poke my head above the parapet and offer my congrats to all those who have popped, and my good wishes to all those about to pop. I'm due on 20th March and in slight, but happy denial about the baby actually coming out. I expect it will though!

goldmother2b · 28/02/2009 21:12

Congrats twocute and welcome baby Alex!

Sunshinesmith · 28/02/2009 22:01

A big welcome to Alex, congratulations TCD!!! So pleased for you and the quick birth of your baby! So jelaous!

My parents came over today and had a lovely day with her and we clarified our points of view on things which has been fab to clear the air.

Got the feeling I will go overdue again! Boo. Feel very achy and as all my joints are going to go especially in the morning.

Not feeling utterly fed up yet but I think that the happy hormones are running wild in my body. I am still feeling very positive and happy about the arrival of this little one.

Mum will be cooking a roast lunch tomorrow so I will be able to chill out to the max.

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday! x x x
