Ok so I'll start it off.

Has anyone else had a huge increase in discharge? It's gone from clear and not too much to thick and white, and copious amounts.

twocute I had a chest infection with my last pregnancy and was induced in the middle of it! No-one seemed to care to be honest. I had pulled a muscle in my back from coughing - I found a hot water bottle really eased the pain although not sure it will be as easy if the pulled muscle is around the front!

SOMEONE has to go into labour this weekend - it's going to be a snowball effect - as soon as one goes we'll ALL go!!

Meep my DH has a contract starting on the 9th March, a week after my section, so I'll have been home about three days before he starts. DD is in nursery wednesday, thursdays and fridays so my lovely Mum is going to be on hand initially to help me, and she said she'd do the nursery run in the evening until I can drive. Not looking forward to it to be honest!

grinningbee · 20/02/2009 09:29

Found you!

Blimey - 25 pages to catch up on... eeeek. Better get the kettle on in a sec.

Quick update - I was going for a growth scan a couple of weeks ago. Bump measured 38 weeks at 32 + 4, but scan showed a baby weighing about 4.5 pounds with very little fluid around her.

Scan the following week showed the fluid had gone up again (weird...) and they found a big fibroid next door to the placenta. It measures almost 8cm across and deep, but is out of the way.

Thought I was going into early labour a few days ago when I had horrible strong period pains but it turned out to be nothing.

Had my 35 week check yesterday and now won't be seen until 38 weeks which seems a long time of seeing no-one! Oh yes, and bump is now measuring 42 weeks

That's it really. Getting lots of (I assume) BH as everything goes tight and it takes my breath away, and as for sleeping - HA!

Right - how quick can I read 25 pages to catch back up...

twocutedarlings · 20/02/2009 10:06

Thanks Aunty Ive got DDs wheat bag hot puppy thingy ive just heated it up slightly, hopefully it should help to ease the pain a little.

Certainly agree that we need a baby this w/end!! just not mine!! oh and a labour thread!!

auntyspan · 20/02/2009 10:31

Oooooo have a look here anyone fancy a bit of bump painting?!

Am off to waddle round the village and have a coffee - making the most of time on my own!

Hope the cough eases twocute!

Boobz · 20/02/2009 10:33

Do we have a separate labour thread then or does it not just get posted on here? Already have the Homebirth thread and Streatham mums thread to keep on - not sure if I can handle 4 threads to update on!

Midwife due any time now for delivery of homebirth kit and The Birth Talk. Eek - very real now. Was 36 weeks yesterday. Looking forward to having this baby now - I'm bored of meeting all my Streatham Mums and not having a baby to join in with! They start baby swimming classes on Tuesday without me - sob.

xxx

Slickbird · 20/02/2009 13:45

Twocute - God no, not famous. I used to work in production, thank God, no you wouldn't get me in front of a camera for anything.

Sorry to hear your coughing so bad, there is nothing worse when you have that ligament pain and you need to cough.

I agree with Aunty - Get a wheatbag - you can't beat them, the stay hot/warm for ages and you can mould/shape them to fit.

I'll be using it in labour to start with...

Whenever that b*oody happens.

Just had my friend MW check me and the baby is in a really good position, head down, back on left hand side and looking to the right (well, she thinks) which apparently is ideal as then the contractions turn the head face down. WE SHALL SEE. I just want a shorter one this time. Labour, not baby.

grinningbee · 20/02/2009 13:50

That's the same position baby is in here, although she is still floating around above the pelvis at the mo.

Ah well... 4 weeks and 6 days to EDD, not that I'm counting! Watch it go 2 weeks over now,

goldmother2b · 20/02/2009 14:29

Twocute - hope you are feeling a bit better - I love my hot wheat bag thingy - have it against my sore pelvis every night (at the back) for as long as I can stand the extra heat, and it seems to be doing some good.

A quick update - went to the hospital yesterday for more monitoring and tests, slightly good news - my urate levels have dropped to the level that they were on on Monday, BP fine, LO's heartbeat fine, urine fine, so they don't want to see me until Monday for more of the same.

I thought I might be starting with labour yesterday too - strong period type pains for about 4 hours, but unfortunately they tapered off...I do hope I'm the surprise early weekend labour..38+3 now, and enough worries about preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, SPD - will be so much happier when this baby is out and ok (and I can have a slice of chocolate cake!)

Re MN names, mine is a song title of an early 90's song by james about pregnancy and birth (I'm still a bit of a 90's indie kid at heart...)

twocutedarlings · 20/02/2009 16:02

Thanks for all your well wishes the wheat bag has help, ive been round at my friends this PM and the change of four walls has been good.

Slick i am disappointed now LOL, i was thinking that maybe you were in taggart hehe!!

goldmother permission to go next!! i totally agree you have to much to deal with not to be!! so your menu for this weekend is hot currys, lots of hot sex!! and along walk ......Enjoy!!! .

goldmother2b · 20/02/2009 16:17

hot curry is cooking as we speak

raspberry leaf tea is in a mug next to me

long walk is out of the question due to SPD

and I think hot sex is too - not for want of trying though - I think the '3 in the room' think is freaking out DH a bit...oh well...

I do have a pineapple - 69p from aldi - wish I could be bothered to cut it up and skin it - whole pineapples are really quite a bit of a hassle......

Wheelybug · 20/02/2009 16:48

Hi All

Glad thinhgs went ok yesterday Goldmother.

I've spent about 4 hours at the antenatal clinic this morning - saw consultant who took bp and it was slightly raised although she didn't seem to concerned. Then she felt the baby and couldn't find the head so did a quick scan and found it to be diagonal which I had to admit it did quite a lot. Well she said, old policy used to be we'd admit you until it moved or I delivered as it could be quite dangerous if my waters break but as I live close to the hospital I have to go in immediately if there is any sign of labour. And, if baby hasn't shifted by next week (38 weeks) I will be booked in for c-sec at 39 weeks. All DH could do was laugh - it really feels like my VBAC is a bit unlikely ! She did then say even if the baby had moved she'd book me in for a c-sec at term with the hope I went into labour. I said I'd like to go a bit over that if all was ok and she agreed but sounds like I probably have a maximum of 4 weeks but it could be 2 .... or even less.

Anyway, I then made the foolish error of asking if she thought my bp was anything to worry about and so she took it again, it was the same so she sent me off to the DAU. The magic of the DAU worked and it came right down so they were all set to release me when my eyes went a bit funny so thought I'd better mention it so was then back to the doctor who quizzed me and we decided it was the funny lights in the DAU and so was released.

So, blood pressure remaining fine I have been repreived for another week.

Have just dashed into town to buy nursing bras as that was all I had left to buy. So that is done, my parents are here to help get the nursery furniture out and up tomorrow. Then I just need to cull the playroom following christmas and dd's birthday and then we're ready. Once I get to Tuesday I will relax a bit as I will be at hte same gestation as when I had dd and this baby is considerably bigger so I know things should be ok. Then everything should be ready too !

Look forward to hearing some annoucements soon (but not mine quite yet !).

jollyjoanne · 20/02/2009 16:56

Well I have had another productive day - well actually my dad has. He had been out and bought one of those paint pod things to do some decorating round at his house but decided that he could try it out at my house as I have been doing some painting anyway and the more things I paint the more obvious it becomes where else needs decorating. Anyway he has been round and painted the downstairs loo, my kitchen ceiling and the area under my stairs. Its great.

Still no sign of the baby going anywhere at the moment and I hope it isn't going to be this weekend as I am off to engagement party on Sat and we have friends staying over.

Will be off to the midwife on Tues so may get a better idea then of babies current size and position. At the moment I am presuming that she is still head down and engaged and her bum still appears to be under my right ribs so I think she is lying with her back to my right. This doesn't seem to be covered much in terms of positions, so not sure if this is good or bad really.

Millie26 · 20/02/2009 16:58

Hello! Just checking in to say hello

Am loving maternity leave - oh my goodness, what bliss.

Have joined those of you nsting like mad. Washed and sorted all baby clothes today, feels so nice.

Using all your brilliant birth plan examples to do mine now - thanks!

Quite funny today as tried to book flights on Ryanair for June as they are free and needed to include 'infant' but realise I couldnt put anything for the name so cant book them!

Cant believe they charge £19 each way for an infant than just sits on your lap

rubyring · 20/02/2009 18:07

bleurgh feel like crap tonite, lots of period type pains on and off done lots of poo's (tmi!) just worn out... but am sure it will all amount to nothing, am 36 wks on monday, so don't want him turning up too early, am just totally fed up being preggers feel like an elephant, put on 3 stone arghghhghghg! my 2 girlies are wearing me out even i have mum in law here helping out for a few days (altho in some ways bit tiring, but that's just me being a miserable git!)..have had a few nice naps, baths etc, sleeping terribly, as i gather some of you are! feel like sobbing all over my hubby but he has just come in from work in bad mood so better let him chill out a bit first! have bought everything for baby and hospital, eg pads, nappies first baby outfits etc (v cute!) but everyhing just piled up all over floor in bags, not quite made it to bags, drawers etc yet! think my nesting phase over too am just too bloody tired!
i am really enjoying reading this thread, sorry i can't retain info very well these days but glad you seem ok after various tests etc etc. really could go to bed now, have to eat tedious pizza with in laws after kids in bed!! xx

meep · 20/02/2009 18:23

my MN name is actually my nickname for dd! When she was teeny she used to make little "meeping" noises from her moses basket!

wheely still got my fingers crossed for your hb!

goldmother (a fellow 90's indie kid ) glad things are going smoothly!

ITNG almost done so it is bath time for minimeep - then curry for me and dh (though a mild one - i don't want to be early!!!)

mum2b09 · 20/02/2009 18:34

Evening girls im due march 15th havnt really posted on here alot but could do with some support 3 weeks 2 go and im terrified lol i held a 2 day old baby girl last night and for the first time it all felt completely reall ahhhh!!!! x

Wheelybug · 20/02/2009 19:08

Thanks Meep - actually am not quite so optimistic to hope for a HB, but a VBAC would be nice. That said, am adopting a que sera, que sera attitude and however it comes out will be fine in the end. I can see an advantages to going in in 2 weeks time.

babyinbelly · 20/02/2009 19:18

Evening all. MN name pretty self explanatory really. Will have to change it ince baby is actually out of belly tho. No idea what to tho!

Slickbird · 20/02/2009 20:03

BIB Can you not just change it to BOB 'Baby out of Belly'. Or I guess that makes it Boob But we already have a Boobz so I'd go with BOB!

laweaselmys · 20/02/2009 20:20

Hi all, including mum2b09...

Have had a bit of a crap day today, my mum came round to tell me the doctors think she might have bowel cancer that has already spread to her liver. She was a bit (okay, a lot at times) useless at being a mum, but I don't want her to die either! And she's been making a real effort to change her spots lately so I feel really bad for her. We just have to wait and see what the test results are though... hopefully it will all be a mistake.

Slickbird · 20/02/2009 21:05

Or BibbityBobbityBoo??

Slickbird · 20/02/2009 21:08

Ohhh, sorry Laws, just saw your post. Really sorry to hear such bad news. I can't imagine what you and your mum are going through. I hate cancer, there seems to be so much of it about. How old is your mum? Let's hope it is treatable. I know people are surviving more and more all the time. When do you think the results will be in?

meep · 21/02/2009 07:23

law I'm so sorry to hear your news - hope the results come back good for your mum.

Littlemisskiwi · 21/02/2009 07:29

Hello ladies,

Its been a while since I was on Mumsnet and I couldn't find my way around the new layout.

I'm counting down the weeks, three to go. Feeling big and uncomfortable but all good.

Law - sorry to hear about your mum.

laumiere · 21/02/2009 08:44

My waters went about 20 min ago, looks like the next March baby may be on his way!
