Ooh, the framed vows thing sounds lovely.

I am planning to have a couple of nights away, but haven't mentioned it to DP yet - he's tiptoeing around it all, because I'm easily overwhelmed. We can't spend lots (I think the Purple Porn Suite is out for now, sadly - maybe for our anniversary ) but it'd be nice to go back to somewhere that wasn't our flat, I think. & it'd avoid having to invite family members to sleep over as well (by that I mean my ILs who will moan about having to do a 6 hour round trip that day) if we're not going home.

Bleu, don't strangle your cat - how will you train it to fetch you snacks from the kitchen if he's dead?

Bleuravin · 03/02/2009 18:04

Had a cat when I was a kid that was pissing and pooing because of a urinary track infection...

BoffinMum · 03/02/2009 18:07

Bleu, is your cat jealous of the impending arrival and wanting attention??

LuLuBai · 03/02/2009 18:07

oh he's had UTIs before (and cost us a fortune with a spell in Kitty Cat A&E with a catheter up his willy!!) This is not that.

Bleuravin · 03/02/2009 18:11

Well he HAS been acting funny ever since we got back from Thanksgiving in Nov.

BoffinMum · 03/02/2009 18:15

Found an interesting cat pee thread

BoffinMum · 03/02/2009 18:16

I must get a life if I am now researching cat pee issues. I hate bloody cats!!

Oh Boffin - what would we do without you. Thanks for that!

And Springy I have often thought February is the best month to get married. It's such a bleak month that it is brilliant to put something in it to celebrate.

Valentine's day is for everyone (and can be a bit nauseating when you sit in a restaurant surrounded by couples gazing at each other aimlessly). Your wedding anniversary is just for you and prices won't be hoiked up, thinks won't be booked yonks in advance.

Best of all in years to come you can plan fabulous mini breaks to celebrate your anniversary. I have always wanted to be taken to Venice for the carnival in February for example....

LuLuBai · 03/02/2009 18:30

Nutty - how many cats have you got?

PuzzleRocks · 03/02/2009 18:30

I was pregnant at my wedding. Didn't realise though as I was only four weeks. I shudder when I think how drunk I got afterwards with DD pickling inside me.

...or snuggled up in a log cabin by a roaring fire with snow coming down outside....

PuzzleRocks · 03/02/2009 18:35

Is anyone doing anything special for valentines?

LuLuBai · 03/02/2009 18:36

Puzzle before I found out I was pg with DD there were two separate occasions where I consumed at least a bottle of wine over the course of the evenng. And I smoked right up until that little line went blue! Eeeek.

She's OK though.

Facial - if you have never had one before at least a week - if you have them regularly three days is fine! Ooh Springy if I didn't have the hospital that day I would drive up there and do your make up etc for you!!!

Seriously don't you dare get a new thread - we can help you and we can research for you and you wont be faced with scary opinions telling you what you should and shouldn't do!!! and why would you need anyone else's opinion when we clearly have the best opinions of everyone on MN!!!

If I were you I would sit down with DP tonight or tomorrow and write down a list of what you want, what you think you should have and what you are not fussed about and they are our priorities - the only important thing is that you get what YOU want the other 2 sections are not important - just nice to haves that way you can chat through what you would like to do after etc...and make your decisions and just work from there!

BabyBolat · 03/02/2009 18:41

Ah Puzzle that would be no! hmmmm

Nutty has the dr been yet?

LuLuBai · 03/02/2009 18:42

Mmmm - log cabin. Well just gaze at the snow and pretend?

Nutty - I think I might go for a female cat if I get to choose my next cat. They are usually more affectionate. My old boy really doesn't show much love. As I type he's meowing at me in an irritable way.

As for Valentine's - no plans. I really wouldn't be surprised if it's a takeaway curry and a DVD. That was what we did last year (although I did also receive a stupendous bouquet with ivory roses and pink lilies - which were the flowers I had in my wedding bouquet)

Yikes - we're late for bath time. Laters

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 03/02/2009 18:42

i'm in charge of planning Valentine;s this year - and i have a tough act to follow after the purple porn palace, i can tell you...
we're housesitting my Dad's place while he's away so i was going to do a home-based romantic dinner with candles, bath, his favorite dvd and popcorn in front of the fire... pretty boring but it should be cosy!

Anyone else got any cool ideas?

I was 4 months pg with DS1 when we got married. I had a posh dress made, and they meaasured special things like nipple to nipple ratio so they could predict how big I was going to get. It was very scientific and impressive!

hey hey ladies, me again! sorry to post and run last night, i'm back and ready to give you what you want!

The flat is lovely, it's a basement flat in edinburgh new town, right by the water of leith (edinburgh's river) and the botanical gardens. It's got a little courtyard garden at the front and the back, two bedrooms, real fireplaces, a stone floor in the hall, window seats, a goldfish and a really nice feel to it. I'm a bit excited. but trying not to be too excited. We move in at the end of the month. It's a bit mental really.

I'm ok, I'm so glad that January is over. I feel a bit lighter and more optimistic about having this baby now. I actually just feel like moving and then holing up and making baby clothes and baking. I'm so hopeful that all this is going to go ok and that me and john will be ok. it'll work out if i believe it won't it?

Bleuravin · 03/02/2009 18:49

I have terrible terrible reflux and keep burping up acid... already tried gavescon (sp) and it's not worked...any other ideas?
