Here goes-I got a BFP on DPO 11 which makes me due 1st October. Was going to avoid the antenatal thread until I was completely sure but have already done 3 tests and am still not convinced. Come on and join in the worry fun.

Morning Ladies. Hope you don't mind if I join you. I was in the due in September group, but miscarried on 3rd January .

But, by some sort of miracle I got a BFP again this morning which gives me a due date of 10th October. Gin

Can't believe this is my 2nd pregnancy of the year and it's only January!

Also had a mmc at just over 11 weeks at the end of September so fingers crossed that this is 3rd time lucky!

Already have 1DD, nearly 4.

Adding myself to the list.

Morning. Congratulations lixan, so sorry for your previous mc. Wishing you a healthy preg this time.

thefunkypea · 30/01/2009 08:40

Hi everyone, CONGRATULATIONS to all with new BFPs.

I'm afraid that with all the talk of peeing on OPKs yesterday, I went home and rummaged at the back of the drawer, and found that I've been clearly stockpiling the things (hmmmmmmm not sure why?!). Anyway, it was a digi one, and had to wait THREE minutes for it to work, but got a Smiley face!! And just think, I've got so many of the things, I can keep testing every week for the next three months!!!! (ok - only kidding - I could, but I'm not going to................... am I?)

theboob · 30/01/2009 09:26

morning all and welcome lixan
I do not like this new MN at all and not really sure if i have set it right

idreamofbeanie · 30/01/2009 09:41

Morning all, I really don't like this new mumsnet! It's nowhere near as clear as the old layout. Oh well, maybe it will grow on us.

Congratulations lix . I'm so sorry about your mcs and hope you have a healthy sticky little bean this time.

Funkypea - lol at testing for the next 3 months .

How are you feeling this morning HC - I hope the cramps have gone.

Hi to everyone else (did I already say congratulations to hereandeverywhere and patmum? Well congratulations if I didn't).

Treats · 30/01/2009 10:46

idreamofbeanie - agree about the new mumsnet - the conversations start halfway down the page and I thought the page hadn't loaded properly.

herethereandeverywhere - you're just like me! We were ttc for 15 months and I got my first ever BFP this week. It really hasn't sunk in yet, but your symptoms sound just like mine - a little bit dizzy, a bit emotional if I hear any references to birth, and what I managed to call "the boobs thing" yesterday .

HumphreysCorner - so sorry to hear about your worries. Just as I was reading your message, I got a sharp twinge in my right hand side - very pre-AF - and I had a sudden panic. But I'm sure LittleMissBliss is right..... I guess we need to get used to living with the worry. I hope you're OK.

Thanks for all your welcomes everyone - glad you're all here!

HumphreysCorner · 30/01/2009 11:04

Morning all

This new MN look is bizarre isn't it? Do I need to do anything to set up how I like it?

Anyway, just normal cramping this morning. No contraction like cramping so far but then when I had a MC this type of cramping lasted 5 mins then the MC started about 4/5 weeks later. Have got my digi conception test ready to do in the morning.

Welcome to newbies and congrats. Must say that herethereandeverywhere's symptoms are exactly the same as mine.

Ironing to do so will attempt to find my way around MN later.

Love to all.

Morning All

Got my second BFP this morning - did a test about 4 days ago - but didn't wait for the result long enough. Due 2nd Oct - so I will have 2 under 2 and a houseboat in the middle of renovation - oh well life will go on. Now I need to get my DS to sleep in a bed of his own so there aren't 4 of us in the bed.

It feels very strange - want to sing from the roof top - but had a friend who had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy over Xmas so a bit wary - even though I had a perfect pregnancy last time.

Hi all and welcome to all the new ladies!
Just a very quick one as I'm about to leave to go and stay with my mum in somerset for the weekend-think its best that dd and I vacate the house as dp is renovating the kitchen this weekend

Feeling really quite rough today-sick, tired, grumpy, no energy etc etc Cramping still there on and off as well.

So sorry to hear about you mc lix and HC i'm sure the cramping is just normal

Won't be able to check back til sun night/mon morning so I have no hope of catching up with everyones news so appologies in advance

I hope everyone has lovely weekends-I hoping to try and get some relaxation time-my mum is lovely and looks after dd whilst I have long baths [bliss]

Take care x x x

Treats · 30/01/2009 13:44

Hi JamesDavidsMum - understand why you're wary. DH and I have had a very detailed conversation about exactly when and how we're going to tell everyone we know, but I do worry that I'll be jinxing the poor little bean if I advertise too soon.

I HAVE just told my boss actually. I wasn't going to say anything yet, but I figured that I need to stay safe at work, and that it would be better if somebody knew. Also, I don't want have to go into awkward explanations if I need to come in late or leave early. We've got an office move coming up and I need to be able to skive off doing the lifting and carrying!

Your houseboat sounds cool, JDM - whereabouts is it? What sort of renovations are you having done? Congrats on the BFP .

doggus · 30/01/2009 14:47

Welcome to all the new ladies!

I posted this on the main section but got just one reply - can anybody here help:

Hi - I have had lots of positive pregnancy tests and think I am about five weeks pregnant.

That is until today. I bought the new conception dating tests and the first one I did at 3pm yesterday came up 2/3 weeks (ie 4-5 weeks pregnant). So far so good.

Than I did something silly. At 9pm yesterday I did another one and this time it came up 1/2 weeks (ie 3-4 weeks pregnant).

This implies to me that my hormone levels are decreasing which is not a good sign

Anyone got any similar experiences or views, postive or negative please help - many thanks.

Am in a mild tizzy and daren't do another test in case it comes up 1/2 weeks again! Aagggh

doggus · 30/01/2009 14:48

Dear Lix - what an amazing story - gives me hope that if I m/c I might get pg again quickly!

lushpot · 30/01/2009 15:00

hi there i too have just found out i'm bout 2-3 weeks (4-5) used the claerblue digital with conception indicator it tells u that the levels of HCG in your urine fluctuate ,so maybe if you tried first thing the levels will be higher in the morn than at night, hope this helps ,good luck will be due round the same time all bein well!

doggus · 30/01/2009 15:20

Thanks lushpot for the reassurance. That makes sense as second test was at night.

idreamofbeanie · 30/01/2009 15:27

Congratulations lushpot and JDM doggus I would agree with lushpot. Your hcg levels fluctuate depending on the time of day, fluid intake and probably a million other things. Maybe retest tomorrow morning to reassure yourself (I know I wouldn't be able to resist) but I'm sure the first test will be the correct one.

LittleMissBliss · 30/01/2009 16:20

hi all newbies! Congratulations!

Feel pretty rubbish today quite lethargic and keep waking up with lower back pain.
Finding it really hard to drift into a deep sleep at night.

Don't think i'll tell work about my pregnancy because i've only been working there for four months. Plus It's only part-time 8 hour contract. Do you think i'll get SMP?

LittleMissBliss · 30/01/2009 16:23

well not yet, obv i will eventually maybe at 12/14 weeks.

idreamofbeanie · 30/01/2009 16:27

He he bliss - picturing you going into work 8 months pregnant pretending you just ate a big dinner the night before!

HumphreysCorner · 30/01/2009 16:46

Lol Bliss-I told work when I was 5 months but they had already guessed.

doggus-I have got my Digital with conception indicator ready to use in the morning. It does say it is not always accurate as it depends on the strength of your wee but am hoping for a 3+.

Still feel sooooooo tired.

OP posts:
thefunkypea · 30/01/2009 17:01

Hey pepperpots did your sticks arrive yet?

Want to do another digi test tomorrow (seeking the holy grail of 3+!), but have I managed to get to a Boots to buy one..... (mind you, I'm a bit paranoid that if I go to one around work, someone will see me and then the news will be out). Am attempting to potty train over the weekend, so I don't think I'll be getting anywhere near a chemist either ho hum

littlemissbliss, completely not an expert but I thought that you were entitled to SMP if you had continuous service of eleven months by your EDD. Not sure whether it is pro-rated though if you are PT?

Treats · 30/01/2009 17:12

Hi doggus - sorry that happened to you.

Ladies - can I just say that I don't think you're helping yourselves by doing all this testing with the conception date sticks? I KNOW it's worrying, and amazing and there's so much to think about and so many things that could go wrong and you just want to know what's going ON in there, but you're just spending £10 on something else to worry about. Don't take this the wrong way - I'm not criticising - but it's upsetting to see people get stressed about things that they didn't even need to know about.

But I do totally understand the worry it's on my mind all the time as well.

Should have mentioned that my boss is also a friend of mine (knew him before I started working for him) and he's known about our struggle to conceive for a long time. I even - very unusually - told him that I was ttc when he offered me the job, so it's not quite the same for me as for other people. Don't think I would have told my old boss anything until I absolutely HAD to.....

idreamofbeanie · 30/01/2009 17:19

Hi treats - I think you are totally right about these tests just being an extra source of anxiety. I think these first weeks just seem to go so slowly and you are bubbling over with excitement but there is nothing to do and no-one to talk to about it (apart from DP/DH obviously but mine is working away just now) so you get drawn into these things. Making a serious resolution now to just relax and enjoy being pregnant until I see GP then midwife then have my scan.

CalypsoFlame · 30/01/2009 17:49

Hello all!
New to the site / thread / whole pegnancy thing

Got first positive a week ago and re-tested last Sunday so I suppose it's really happening!

1st cycle ttc (4th charting through) but still blown away that we were lucky enough for it to happen straight away, given our relative not-so-spring-chick ages

Ought to be subitting a full draft of my PhD on the 28th September and EDD is 1st October so I don't think that's going to be going to go quite to plan, but thus far no symptoms and trying to do as much as possible before body submits to the ravages of pregancy .

Nice to meet you all (waves)
