Here goes-I got a BFP on DPO 11 which makes me due 1st October. Was going to avoid the antenatal thread until I was completely sure but have already done 3 tests and am still not convinced. Come on and join in the worry fun.

Good morning all.
baby Im so very very sorry to hear your news, these first months are so fragile.

Welcome to all the newbies.

Im going to phone the docs today to arrange my booking appointment, its still very early.

Im really worried at the mo as all my symptoms seem to have gone, apart from the metallic taste. Im so frightened of a mmc and having to wait until Im 12 weeks for a scan is torture.

Im sure everything is fine.....

I hope those of you who are feeling unwell get better soon.x

hackneybird · 23/02/2009 09:05

Morning all,

Just popping in to say hi, I am so busy normally I don't often get a chance to post.

Am off to docs shortly to get everything in motion. 7+2 today by my reckoning. Like everyone else I feel rough all the time, really nauseous, cold and tired. Cannot wait until this part is over as I am not enjoying it!

baby I am so sorry for your loss and am thinking of you. Having been there I know how much it hurts.

HB
xx

Cazza28 · 23/02/2009 09:06

So sorry to hear your news baby hope you are as well as can be.

Hello to all old and new!

Got a letter through for a MW appointment on March 11th for blood tests and a diet questionnaire, I will get my scan date then as well. 8+2 today! (is that all!!) x

Icantbelieveitsnotbitter · 23/02/2009 09:29

Morning everyone. So sorry to hear baby's news. I think we all fear a MMC - I haven't got a clue what the statistics are for them or whether they're included in the total of all miscarriages in first trimester ?

I've had to book an appointment with my GP at 11.40 this morning - I've been awake since 3am with the most awful itchy skin - my hands, my arms, soles of my feet and I'm a bit puffy in the fingers, ankles and knees ! Yesterday I had bright red arms and it felt like I'd been sunbathing for too long ??

Hopefully only another 32 weeks to go

CookieMonster1 · 23/02/2009 11:27

Hello everyone

Baby, really sorry to hear your news.

My symptoms seem to be easing a bit. Am still tired and my boobs are still really sore (though less than before) and I still feel my normal level of queasiness most of the day but I felt almost normal yesterday, lots of energy and I was definitely less of a miserable cow than I have been recently.

Don't know whether to be happy about this or really worried that all is not well but I think I am going to try to be happy and make the most of it.

Are anyone else's symptoms easing a little around the 8 week point or is it just me?

Treats · 23/02/2009 11:32

hi everyone

Got my midwife appointment booked - 30 March. It's a bit late but they originally wanted to see me on the 19th March, which is the day I'm going on holiday, so it has to wait until I get back. I also have my dating scan on 27th March. I'll be a bit blah about the whole scan thing by then, as it will have been my third (I have another one this Thursday). I know I'm very fortunate - and feel even luckier in the light of babyinthecorner's news .

Had a nice day out with my mum on Saturday and blethered on for most of that time about the baby. Such a relief! It's occupying my thoughts about 75% of the time and I can't talk to anyone about it. Sooooo hard keeping it to myself.

Beginning to feel a little bit nauseous but nothing like some of the experiences described here. Mostly a feeling of not particularly wanting to eat food, but I feel fine if I force it down. Was very tired all day yesterday and got a bit with DH about various silly things for no good reason.

Icantbelieveitsnotbitter - I have very itchy skin as well. I thought it was just dryness due to the cold weather and central heating, but I get awful itchiness around my nipples in particular which is driving me mad.

idreamofbeanie · 23/02/2009 11:38

Hi Cookie,

my symptoms are easing a little now too but I also think it's a mix of feeling better at the start of the week (more rested), managing the nausea better and getting used to feeling sick and tired so noticing it less. I was a bit worried about it too but I'm putting it out of my mind and just enjoying feeling a bit more human this morning.

On a completely different note I went to buy a couple of new bras and a supportive vest top to sleep in. I have already gone from a DD to an E cup . I'm a bit worried I might need a fork-lift truck to carry them around by the end of the pregnancy if this carries on!

Icantbelieveitsnotbitter - hope your GP can give you something to help, that sounds really irritating.

Cazza - hope you have a good booking in appt on the 11th. (I'm 8+4 today and was just sitting thinking is that all, haven't I known for months already ).

Hi to everyone else

idreamofbeanie · 23/02/2009 11:40

Hi Treats - x-posted. Where are you off to on holiday? You've probably already said but I've forgotten . Hope you have a good scan on Thursday - it must be so reassuring seeing the heartbeat. Can't wait for mine.

lixanismapolium · 23/02/2009 11:48

Hi All

Sounds like a few of us are losing some of our symptoms. I woke up on Sunda and for the first time in weeks my (.)(.)s weren't sore and also felt back to their normal shape and size. I was in a complete panic all day yesterday and lay awake worrying almost all night last night.

I think they're slightly sore again today, but that may be because I prodded them so many time to check!!

Think I'm extra nervous after my mcs.

idreamofbeanie - you made me lauh! I'm a FF or G to start with, so I don't think you'll end up with a fork-lift!!!

Why does his have to be so hard?

Cazza28 · 23/02/2009 11:55

cookiemonster1 I feel kind of normal now week 6 was horrible with aches, pains and sickness but seems to have passed. Still got the big sore boobs and occasional quezziness but very little else! Tend to sleep lots to but I always have. Trying to keep positive about the whole thing other wise I would drive myself nuts, my sister had a MMC before and only found out at 12 weeks so I always have that at the back of mind.

I really want to have the scan and see a heart beat then I can relax to! But suppose its good to know we all have each other here.

I think some one has already said it but roll on April.

HumphreysCorner · 23/02/2009 11:56

Hi all

Congratulations and welcome tjtheminx. I should think you will get excellent care in the US.

Oh these bothersome symptoms or lack of, I think we will be all slightly happier when we have had a scan. Still nauseous here and sicking up acid.

Have a good day ladies.

Hi all -just to reassure you slightly, I think the statistics for having a miscarriage after the heartbeat have been detected are 3-5% - so unfortunately I was just extremely unlucky. Try to stay positive and I'm sure you will all be fine. Can you tell I'm still lurking!

HumphreysCorner · 23/02/2009 12:17

Bless you babyinacorner-take care of yourself. {{xx}}

Hi all [waves] I am new here and I didn?t have time to read all the post. Hope everybody is well. I will try to catch up!
I was on the TTC November thread and it works out I am due 30 October ! But ds was 2 weeks late so you never know?
I had loads of symptoms from day 1 so I was sure before I even took the test. I felt exactly like this when pregnant with ds so really only did 2 tests to confirm.
The symptoms are easing now too not sure that is a good thing. My first pregnancy wasn?t exactly planned so I never doubt there will be happy ending. This time I am not so sure. So far only sick once BUT on the tube on the way from work . My tummy is massive already (am only 5 weeks) I swear I was this big at 17 weeks with first pregnancy. Is it possible to be this big? Will look like a whale in the end. Also I am thinking I will have to tell people earlier than I would like or is safe as I will no be able to hide it much longer.
Have you informed your work yet?

pepperpots · 23/02/2009 12:26

Just a quick one... I have sadly lost my baby After 4 years TTC i think this is it. I wish all you ladies love and luck

CalypsoFlame · 23/02/2009 12:29

babyinacorner I'm so sorry to hear your news, I hope you take care, recover soon and are swiftly back on the ante-natal threads XXXXX

Hello to all the newbies, and congratulations!

To all who are anxious about loss of symptoms, I too have been feeling increasingly non-pregnant and got myself really quite concerned over the weekend (8+5 today). Made decision this morning to over-come my naturally pessimistic outlook on life and stay positive about this pregnancy until I definitely know otherwise, which I know is easier said than done, but feel much calmer today so far.

Coming on here has been really helpful today too, as I see I'm not the only one

Thanks to all who made some suggestions regarding my hot shaky episode - I went to Dr about something else but she tested my blood pressure (low - but only within the range that mine usually is) and blood sugar (normal at time of test). Didn't test for anaemia, but I've had a whopping large steak for dinner just in case . I think its just something we have to watch; crashing unexpectadly and rapidly...

Icantbelieveitsnotbitter · 23/02/2009 12:29

Back from the GPs - had to have a blood test and urine test. Apparently if you have itchy soles of the feet - especially at night - it can be a sign of liver function problems.

I also had to ask about smears during pregnancy - my last smear in October was abnormal with a call back due in April. Seeing as I've already had CIN III twice and had 2 operations on my cervix I'm not keen to go until October without another smear. She is checking with the gynae people and will come back to me. I'm very pro-smear anyway but poor Jade Goody's situation makes me even more so ! I'm of the opinion that my first concern has to be my DS and I wouldn't refuse treatment for the sake of this baby at such an early stage

CalypsoFlame · 23/02/2009 12:33

pepperpots That's so sad, I can't imagine how you must be feeling. {{{HUGS}}}

smallone · 23/02/2009 12:41

So sorry Pepperpots

Koumak, I'm enormous too. I couldn't fasten my trousers today so have had to put my maternity ones on I'm only 6 weeks! I'm hoping its just bloating and will be better tomorrow. Strangly tho I've lost a pound!

LittleMissBliss · 23/02/2009 12:46

So sorry pepperpots x

Cazza28 · 23/02/2009 12:53

baby thanks for your kind words when you must be going through hell yourself. x

pepperpots I am so sorry, have you been giving advice to stop trying - there may be still hope although it doesn't feel like it at the moment x

Hi Koumak I think the general feeling on this website is to wait until we have our 12 week scan before letting work know. I know I will be waiting as everything is so delicate in this period.

I have just snapped the wire in in my bra, I think I have to invest in some maternity ones.. I think the 2lb i have put on in the last 8 weeks has gone straight to them!

HumphreysCorner · 23/02/2009 13:19

Oh pepperpots-I am so very sorry. Isn't there any tests you can have? Please don't give up. {{xx}}

Koumak-welcome and congratulations. I am 8+4 today and have a definte podgy bit.

Did ask DH if he could knock me out and wake me up in April.

Laters!

Pepperpots I am so so sorry . I've never been in your situation so tell me to butt out if you like but I think you should take some time to come to terms with losing this pregnancy before you make any decisions. It must be such a difficult time for you. Please take care of yourself and I hope you have lots of support from friends or family. Have you had/will you have any tests done?

Welcome Koumak and tjtheminx

Hope its not anything serious Icantbelieveitsnotbitter, when will you get some results back?

DevilsAdvocaat · 23/02/2009 13:41

pepperpots, so sorry. all the best for the future.

icbinbitter, i agree with you 100%. make sure you are ok, fingers crossed.

my symptoms seem to be easing too (7+4). not being sick anymore, just feeling sick but def not as bad as before.
