Here goes-I got a BFP on DPO 11 which makes me due 1st October. Was going to avoid the antenatal thread until I was completely sure but have already done 3 tests and am still not convinced. Come on and join in the worry fun.

sammysam · 20/02/2009 09:52

i know you are both right-i'm not good at asking for help. water sets me off the thought of boiled sweets sets me off!
I think i might try and phone in a bit-its so late now though-doubt there'll be any apts left....

Sparklytwinkletoes · 20/02/2009 09:52

Oh and I should have said, you're probably right about resting - tiredness can apparently make MS loads worse.

Sparklytwinkletoes · 20/02/2009 09:54

I was like you last time round, although not as frequent. What I found was if I closed my eyes and shoved a sweet in, once it was in my mouth it was nowhere near what I had anticipated it was going to be, and actually it really helped.

Don't want to push you to try it, but if you do, make sure you're near the loo

Looking on the brightside, its a sign of a healthy pregnancy (Sorry, probably not what you want to hear!)

I was actually coming on to say I'm cacking myself as all my symptoms seem to have faded away... I'm only just seven weeks...

sammysam · 20/02/2009 09:59

Thank you for being so lovely sparkly-it means a lot. I will try your suggestions. I always worry that i'm not bad enough to need things.....like when I ended up having my apendix out-it took me a long time to say 'yes i really is bad enough to ring 999!'
Will try docs now and then rest this arvo. Thank you x x x

sammysam · 20/02/2009 10:01

Oh forgot to say-I think it was the start of wk 7 that my symptoms died down a lot-now look!!! Don't worry-you'll be fine -I just hope its not too bad for you this time

altagloria · 20/02/2009 10:11

Sparkly I wouldn't worry about symptoms going, mine are coming and going all the time! I can't take my own advice though, panic sets in when I think 'no queasiness, no headache, no metal taste, no tiredness!' but then they come back again after a while.

Mine are so mild anyway that I'm in a permanent state of mild panic. This baby is getting bathed in stress hormones poor thing.

Sammysam sorry you're having such a bad time, I agree with the others you need to see a doctor soon as you can. But don't worry about the baby, it will be fine.

lixanismapolium · 20/02/2009 10:11

Sammysam - do you have any ginger or peppermint tea in the house? That's about the only thing that helped me before the Dr gace me the medication. Even a snigg of ginger can help if you've got a bit of ground ginger in the kitchen cupboard. The other thing I have heard of but never tried is to sniff a lemon.

lixanismapolium · 20/02/2009 10:20

Not sure what a snigg of ginger is!!! Maybe a sniff would do ....

sammysam · 20/02/2009 10:25

Have tried ginger but it sets me off-Think i'm a weirdo! My mums when out and bought every ginger thing she could find!!! Mint is slightly better. Our docs do telephone triage now so they are ringing between 11.30 and 12 and then will prob make me go in to see them-such a random way of doing things Will check for pepermint tea-think we may be out though-will have to send someone to get me some....
Do have lemons so will try that.
I find the thing that actually makes me sick is the HUGE quantities of saliva that I suddenly produce and it tastes absolutely disgusting and then i'm really sick-how can I stop that? Plus tastes/smells etc but they really just set off the saliva iyswim?
I'm finding i need to spit it out but cos i'm hardly drinking i'm worried about doing that-but it helps a bit.....

HumphreysCorner · 20/02/2009 11:37

sammysam-the saliva bit is awful. Am permanently spitting it into the toilet. I do think you should see the Dr.

Sparkly-last week at 7 weeks I was ready to phone the EPU as my symptoms went but this week at 8 weeks I am so very sick. Panic ye not.

jessia-hello and welcome and big congrats to you.

Our new maternity hospital allows your DH to stay the night on a reclining chair. DH was reluctant but made him when I went in as my waters were leaking but nothing else happening.

Big wave to everyone. Am so cold

Freezing here too but that may just be cos the boiler's broken, hence me sitting here reading MN waiting for the boiler man instead of being at work

Well I'm pregnant I deserve a rest!

fidelma · 20/02/2009 12:14

Hi all

so sorry for all with bad morning sickness as i've been ther before. My GPs are giving me accupuncture every week and it helped so much I though I was going to have a mc as all my sickness went.It is worth a go and completly safe.

My symptoms are comming and going which stresses me out.roll on 12 weeks.I am off for a night away with dh and leaving 3dc with grandma.Hoping to stop thinking about pregnancy for a few hours.

Sparklytwinkletoes · 20/02/2009 13:05

Back for a quick post during lunchtime, how's the resting helping sammysam?

HC - Come sit with me, I'm sweating my bits off penty warm enough! I've just opened both windows which didn't make enough of a difference, so now I've put the air conditioning on. I'll be a nightmare in the summer if I carry on like this

Was feeling a bit queasy by midday so have been to canteen and had a lovely lunch, and am feeling better now. Guess I must have panicked too soon . Thanks for reasurrance, it means a lot.

HumphreysCorner · 20/02/2009 14:04

I have lit the coal fire and may have to get a hot water bottle.

sammy i hope the doctor can help you with your sickness ,and i hope you get a little resbite from it soon

my boobs stoped hurting for a day last week and i paincked ,they were hurting the next day so all was well,i tried to get measured today for a new bra but ds2 had other ideas ,as i thought a walk without his pram would be good practice for him......i was so wrong,i feel as if im being held prisioner by my bra and i need to get it sorted soon, does anyone else feel like this?????

HumphreysCorner · 20/02/2009 15:07

I am wearing the wrong size bra but it is comfier than my normal ones. For some reason I kept some bras from when I was 4 stone heavier-good job!

Not sure about prison - at least not a particularly high security one. Mine are trying to escape all over the place.

Have promised myself a shopping trip at the weekend to try to regain some semblance of capture!

I've tried to get measured for a new bra with DS in tow before. It really didn't work at all!

Besides, buying new undies is NOT meant to be a chore so juggling a toddler at the same time ought not to feature if at all possible. If I fail this weekend then I'll order some on line and send back the ones that don't fit.

HumphreysCorner · 20/02/2009 15:37

Oh my, babyinacorner has sadly had a MMC

babyinacorner · 20/02/2009 19:04

Hi Everyone

Sadly it is true that I have had a mmc they think the baby must have died at 7 weeks + (I would have been 8+1 today)

Anyway, it's been lovely being on this thread with you all and I wish you all the best of luck x

altagloria · 20/02/2009 19:18

So sorry baby I hope you're ok. Wishing you lots of luck for the future.

smallone · 20/02/2009 20:30

baby so sorry to hear your news, big hugs.

sammy I really feel for you, things I found that help, this time and last time, were
Watermelon! Can't get enough of the stuff, if there's nothing else I can eat that.

Sleep. Its much worse when you're tired, can you get your mil to do a regular visit early afternoon so you can have a nap?

Seabands, they don't "cure all" but they definitely help.

Fresh Air, quite often I have my coat on and my head stuck out of the window.

Are you taking any vits? I have to take mine in the evening or my stomach objects.

I hope you find something that works for you.

Prisci · 21/02/2009 01:51

Baby very sorry to hear, all the best.

HumphreysCorner · 21/02/2009 08:33

babyinacorner-I am so very sorry. Take care {{xx}}

TMI but I went to the toilet and my poo is bright orange-what's all that about then. Is it my lack of fluids and food maybe. Really loose it is.

Attempting some breakfast but doubt it will stay down. Have a good day ladies.
