Hi everyone [waves]
Congrats to the new BFPs

smallone - I would LOVE a pregnancy meals on wheels! anything to avoid the smell of cooking.

lixanismapolium - sending you best wishes for a very clear scan tomorrow

Lizzie - sending you positive vibes, think positive thoughts

Ican'tbelieveitsnotbitter - if you can stomach one cup of caffeine free tea first thing, it may help with the withdrawl symptoms. I know its worse when you can't take painkillers

Kleinemaus - poor you, hope you feel better soon

Funkypea - I'm so sorry, take care

I'm still having crampy pains, is this normal? They're worse in the car. I didn't end up going to wales this wknd because I couldn't face the car journey.

Definately with you all on the impatience thing, although seeing that some of you have now had booking appts with the midwife, I so need to get my backside in gear! The next 2 weeks are manic though so I don't know when I'll have time. Dh a bit concerned at my moods and the fact that I practically scream with pain if he even so much as brushes against the tits of torment.

Getting a bit concerned about my travel to and from work the next 2 weeks - I'm a sales manager and drive up to 8 hrs a day to/fro appts then walk around with a big case. I have today learnt that there are only so many times you can stop on the M6 to be sick before you start pushing your luck-lorries whizzing past at scary speed. Luckily I am leaving next Friday and taking a few months off , originally to try and reduxe my stress levels enough to get pg. Bless the old ladies in a church cafe in Nottingham - I'd left at 4.30am today and by the time I'd done 2 appts and had time to stop for a tea, I was going to be sick again. They sat me down with a piece of bread and butter-worked a treat.

bubblebell1 · 17/02/2009 22:25

sorry.... my stay was short and sweet. good luck to you all xxx

tracyea · 17/02/2009 22:25

Hi All
Lizzie - try and rest and good luck
Funkypea - I'm so sorry, my thoughts are with you

The amount of food that I have eaten today would feed a small nation! And still I feel sick and retch all day. I must have put on half a stone already!

Calypso - I usually run but haven't managed it for a week or so - just because I can't find a full hour when I'm not retching! I'm intending to start again when I feel better but I am going to tone it down a bit.

theboob · 18/02/2009 06:36

bubblebell and funkypea so sorry for you x x x thinking of you both

littlepea72 · 18/02/2009 08:00

Hi everyone...thought i would stop looking in & just join in. Im due on the 12th Oct, symptoms coming and going, seeing the MW in 2 weeks

babyinacorner · 18/02/2009 08:07

funkypea and bubblebell - so sorry to hear your news xx

lizzie - hope the bean hangs on in there

happytangerine - i am also still having crampy pains -not as often but still as bad when they do occur. I think it's still normal!

tracyea-food consumption here also gone up by about 200% and I promised myself I wouldn't do it again after struggling to get 2 stone of pregnancy weight off last time

Hope everyone is well this morning.

babyinacorner · 18/02/2009 08:09

littlepea72 - welcome to the thread btw!

peachespaige · 18/02/2009 08:11

Hello All.

Can I join please? Ive been lurking on the October/November conception threads. I got my bfp yesterday so that makes my edd 29th October but both my ds's were exactly a week early so who knows.
Humphreyscorner my birthday is also October 8th!

I have cramping, tiredness, metallic taste around my fillings and a racing heart (thats how I knew) so far oh and quite tearful. Im really pleased to be expecting number 3, my two boys a real live wires but very loving. Id be happy to have another boy, everyone expects you to want a girl, I really dont mind.
I might do another test in a couple of days to make sure.

LittleMissBliss · 18/02/2009 08:14

funkypea- So sorry, hope you are both ok, best of luck for the future.

LittleMissBliss · 18/02/2009 08:18

bubblebell- so sorry.

Welcome to all the new bfp!

MrsHappy · 18/02/2009 08:39

May I join you?

I'm due 23 October and have been lurking on this thread for a bit. Last year I had 2 ectopics, one of which was diagnosed after I started an ante-natal thread so I didn't want to join until I was sure it wasn't another one! Yesterday I had a ridiculously early scan and the consultant has assured me that he could see the very tiny bean in the right place (hurrah!). Now all it needs to do is to stay put...!

Not much in the way of symptoms thus far, but then I am less than 5 weeks along. It's been interesting reading about all of your symtoms.

for all of those who have had to drop off the thread already. I hope you're as ok as possible.

CalypsoFlame · 18/02/2009 08:50

bubblebell & funkypea; so sorry to hear that it didn't work out this time, hope it happens for you really soon X

I had quite a strange experience yesterday; was in Sainsbury's sating my desire for Beef and Tomato Pot Noodle (I know, yuk), when I suddenly became extremely hot, broke out in a sweat and started shaking lots. Didn't feel dizzy but everything went really bright. Dashed back to work, thought I was going to pass out en-route (luckily outside UCLH!) but managed to eat my lunch and felt much better. Stopped feeling so hot once I'd peeled off to the least amount of clothing one can wear and not be obscene, but the shaking took a good hour to subside. Weird.

Felt ok the rest of the day, brain packed up and went for a kip from 4pm onwards but had to stay at my desk until around 6:30pm randomly opening PDFs to look busy, before I went home and mostly slept the rest of the evening. Not usually quite that tired.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? I'm guessing its blood-sugar related but I had been steadily eating all morning...?

DevilsAdvocaat · 18/02/2009 09:05

bubbles and funkypea, so sorry to hear your news. all the best for the future x

DevilsAdvocaat · 18/02/2009 09:15

someone earlier was talking about 1st trimester dragging... well it does, then all of a sudden you'll be 12 weeks and thinking 'where did the time go?!'. even stranger, i found the weeks between 16 and 30 whizzed by. it's strange but it does go fast after you get past the initial stage.

the worst bit BY FAR is the last 4 weeks.
think we're all moaning now? you just wait

i am vomitting about once a day around 4 which isn't too bad i suppose. worse is the nausea which is all day. morning sickness, ha, don't make me laugh. i find that i need to eat something every hour to avoid being sick. i will be massive after this pg last time i put on 4 stones which i did lose but i don't want to go through that again.

have already had everyone saying that they hope it's a girl for me (already 1 ds). think it's going to start to grate after the next 8 months of hearing it. any tips for dealing with it? theboob what are the sexes of your dcs? and did you get this?

how do i book my booking appointment with mw? it all went wrong with my last pg and i had my booking appt at 19 weeks after my gp kept not referring me i missed tests and scans etc. in the end i went to the hosp and self referred; thank god i am not with the same gp this time.

sammysam · 18/02/2009 09:44

I'm so sorry bubbles and funkypea wishing you the best of luck for the future.

Lizzie-I hope you manage to rest all the time-you have a fighter there i'm sure you'll be ok-just take it very easy.

Welcome to all the new BFP's!

I'm having trouble dealing the the constant nausea and then not being able to eat much and certainly no dinner I know it was a rough time with dd but I can't remember it being quite this bad!!!! I JUST WANT TO EAT!!!! Oh and drink! Water tastes so bad and is all I normally drink so I'm not drinking much-which is very bad and prob the cause of my dizzyness etc......

smallone · 18/02/2009 10:04

Calypso, I reckon it was your body going into shock at the idea of a pot noodle! Very similar to a food reaction that I have, had you eaten anything different in the last hour or so?

Funky and Bubble, so sorry to hear your news, big hugs to you both.

BellaCullen · 18/02/2009 10:23

bubblebell and funkypea sorry about you`re news and all the best for the future.

Newbies welcome all.

DevilsAdvocaat I have a ds and dd and got it all the time as I didnt find out what I was having.Just say all youre hoping for is a healthy baby and you`re happy with whatever you get.Its not like we can change the sex it is what it is and no amount of them going on and on is going to change it.For my booking in app just had to go to GP and she is booking me in with mw and for scan.Phone up your surgery and ask how it works as everywhere seems to be different.

Feeling better and watermelon seems to help with the naseau would recommend it.

lixanismapolium · 18/02/2009 10:44

bubblebell and funkypea sorry about you`re news fingers crossed for next time around.

Had my scan this morning (internal - yuk!)and the great news is that there was a little one in there with a beating heart, measuring 6+4 which fits exactly with my dates.

The nurse said that the chances of a positive outcome are now 85%, so not quite out of the woods but looking loads better than my last 2 pregnancies.

Treats · 18/02/2009 11:11

Sorry I haven't been around but trying to catch up.

lizzie9442 - fingers crossed for you. My bleeding turned out to be fine, so it might be OK, but I don't think I had as much as you. Get lots of rest.

thefunkypea and bubbles - I'm so so sorry. . Take care of yourselves......

HappyTangerine - lol at 'tits of torment' - I can completely relate........

Devils Advocaat - I'm not sure what the procedure would be in your area, but in some places you can book directly with the midwife, rather than being referred by the GP. If you google your local NHS trust, it should tell you on their website. Grr at your last GP - have you changed now?

Feel embrarassed to report that I have still not suffered any nausea at all........ I'm beginning to get a bit more sensitive to smells now (a colleague just bought a coffee and the smell really hit me), so maybe it's still to come. Really, really tired though. Have been asleep within about an hour of getting home so far this week.

Cazza28 · 18/02/2009 12:32

bubblebell and funkypea Thinking of you both. Big Hugs xxx Are you both sure you are definitely out?

Cazza28 · 18/02/2009 12:37

I have the extremely tired thing going on this week but I so much prefer it to the cramps of last week!

Am I the only one still taking tests? Or are we all still at it?

I haven't heard anything from Dr or MW yet after my first Drs. appointment, I think I will be 8 weeks Saturday, is that pretty normal? I haven't been told what I should avoid eating or anything yet

LittleMissBliss · 18/02/2009 13:02

Calypsoflame- I had the exact same thing that you had when i was pregnant with ds, same time in the pregnancy, but i actually fainted momentarily. Did your hearing go funny too, did you also become short of breath? It was very scary. I remember just sitting down shaking and sweating loads.

At the time it was scary and i really didn't know what it was, but just took it as a normal preganancy syptom, later on in my pregnacy (20 weeks) i found that i was really aneamic, and i now think my funny turns were to do with my really low iron levels. But have never confirmed it with MW or Dr.

Devilsadvocaat- I have a ds and am very open about the fact that i would really love a dd this time, which i'm sure will bite me in the bum when i have another ds! Which i will also be happy with of course, cheaper too as i have saved all of ds's clothes!

MrsHappy congratulations and glad to hear that your scan showed everything to be well!

I keep rushing to the post because i'm hoping my 12 week scan date will arrive. But am now thinking they may just post it a week or so before it's due..... will have to be patient.

peachespaige · 18/02/2009 13:36

Hi there.

Calypso I had this with my first. I went for a swim, walked home, got in the shower and collapsed! After shovelling anything sweet I could find in my mouth I felt much better . It was all about the blood sugar with me.

Weight gain is starting to stress me slightly. After ds 1 was born I still had 4 stone to lose, so with baby and fluid etc I reckon I put on about 5.5 stone . With ds2 I put on 2.5 stones and lost 1.5 straight after he was born so that wasnt too bad. This time my starting weight is heavier so am aiming for a 2 stone gain. Its hell trying to lose after!

Prisci · 18/02/2009 13:41

Bluebell and Funky Pea, so sorry, wish you all the best in the future.

Just weight myself, I have already put on almost 3lb. It is crazy, with Ds1 I had lost weight at this stage but gained a lot in the last trimester. I did loose it all too, but I really don't want to go through that again either.

Otherwise, feeling fine (sorry) so far, just extremely tired and moody. I think DH is starting to be fed up with eating steaks (3 in 3 days, maybe it is too much) but this is the only thing I feel like.[hmn]

DevilsAdvocaat, I agree with you the last four weeks are the longest one indeed, my DS was 12days overdue, I thought I was going to go crazy.

fidelma · 18/02/2009 14:46
