Here goes-I got a BFP on DPO 11 which makes me due 1st October. Was going to avoid the antenatal thread until I was completely sure but have already done 3 tests and am still not convinced. Come on and join in the worry fun.

varicose Sorry you've not got a proper answer. What happens after the blood tests do they want to scan you again? Where are you up to datewise?

HumphreysCorner · 11/02/2009 15:51

Oh varicose-how worrying for you. Hope you get some answers soon.

pepperpots are you lurking? I just wondered if you had any more of an update?

tracyea · 11/02/2009 17:21

HC i'm so sorry that you have got this worry again - try not to panic, symptoms do come and go, i'm crossing everything for you
varicose keep on hanging in there girl! Thinking of you
Have given up today and just lay on sofa feeling sick - have told DCs that I've got a tummy bug but if it carries on like this, my DD 10 is goiing to suss. We told them last time when I was poorly but then they were devastated when I had aMC at 12 wks. I really don't want to tell them this early and then have them hurt again if I MC, but I don't know how I'm going to pull half term off. Any ideas anyone please???

Varocose - good luck, thinking positive thoughts for you.

HC - really sorry about your troubles, big fingers crossed to you.

I've got a cold. My mum always told me to feed a cold so am taking her at her word stuffs another packet of crisps into an ever open gob

Sparklytwinkletoes · 11/02/2009 20:53

Evening all, sorry haven't really been about or making much of an effort re posting, although I have been reading and lurking...

Sorry to hear all those having a difficult time, my thoughts are with you x

I don't feel in anyway pregnant, but I know I am having 'symptoms', absolutely shattered all the time (going to bed by 8 most nights), sore full (.)(.)'s and feeding my face with all sorts of crap that don't normally tempt me - honest!

Sparklytwinkletoes · 11/02/2009 20:53

'don't normally tempt me'? doesn't even!

KleineMaus · 11/02/2009 21:48

I've been lurking too, I'm afraid. There just doesn't seem like much to report, for which, reading some of the posts here, I think I should be really grateful. Thinking of all those experiencing problems.

DH is working from home tomorrow, which means I can't stay in my pyjamas till lunchtime or let ds watch as much tv as today. Damn. Still, dh has been very sweet recently, yesterday and today he took over when he got back from work and got ds's tea while I slept on the sofa. God it's hard to listen to the sweetly inane repetitive questions of a two year old when you're trying to concentrate really hard on not throwing up, isn't it...

Sparklytwinkletoes · 11/02/2009 22:28

KM - I can't even write about feeling nauseous or the millions of 'remedies' as I haven't even got to that stage yet. You're right though, given what a rocky road this is, I am should be more grateful to feel as well as I am.

I had MC at nearly 12 weeks and its just impossible for me to think that this isn't going to end the same way. Its just incredible how slowly the time goes. I wasn't expecting to catch this cycle so even the 2ww wasn't this slow this time around!

ChucklesMcMummy · 11/02/2009 22:44

Hi All

Hope you're well. My Davina DVD arrived today so planning on giving it a go tomorrow. Will report back on how it goes.

I'm taking pregnacare and seem to be fine with it, although I do usually take it with fruit juice or water.

6 weeks Saturday only 6 more to go...YAY

Gonna be a long 6 weeks though. The last 2 have felt like a lifetime! Big smiles everyone!!!!

hackneybird · 11/02/2009 22:59

Hello all

Just checking in to say hi as I haven't been on much at all since I joined. Reckon I'm 5+4 with an EDD of 11 Oct. Pepperpots and vari I am thinking of you both - oh the reollercoaster of early pregancy.

I am so busy at work I am determined to fight off the dreaded MS until it calms down a bit. Not many symptoms, apart from being deeply tired in the mornings, lots of cramping, and like doggus in a permanent state of fury with a very short fuse. I also have very sore boobs. They feel so heavy! Strangely I have also completely lost my appetite and have to force myself to eat.

After an MC last year I am very nervous, but am always prepared for the worst iykwim. I haven't even thought about phoning the doc's yet.

Have added myself to the list.

Hi all, yes it is 2am and yes I am up grr! Went to bed at 9, although I could have gone from 7, then stupid bloody neighbour woke me up at midnight arguing and I couldn't get back to sleep coz I was too hot and my legs are really itchy and I was just laying there listening to my stomach gurgle and DH snoring, so now I'm starving/nauseaus and am sat here eating cream crackers.

I hope today is a better day for those with worries.

Cazza28 · 12/02/2009 08:46

Morning All,

I seem to have pain in my lower left side and seems to come and go but every 15 mins or some kept me up most of last night. It kind of feels like a pulled muscle but then goes sharp every now then. I am trying to tell my self it is stretching but not to sure now!!

I am really constipated (TMI) do you think this could be anything to do with it? I am thinking about going to see the Dr but don't wont to waste his time! What can I take for constipation to see if that helps first?

HC how are your pains?

smallone · 12/02/2009 09:07

Morning all, I'm feeling like I've been out on the tiles all night. How unfair is that? Hangover and no fun.

Cazza I hope your pain settles down. Constipation really won't help things, I don't think there is anything that you can take as the bowels are so close to womb so what irritates one can irritate the other. I had this problem later on with dd and boots basically told me to eat lots of dates and prunes. I have the opposite problem (tmi) as I have an inflammatory bowel condition and I don't know where the discomfort is coming from. As long as its no worse than period pain I don't think there is cause to worry.

CalypsoFlame · 12/02/2009 09:41

Hi again,

To all those experiencing worrying symptoms and pains, lots of luck and I really hope you have good news soon. Big Hugs

From no symptoms to feeling utterly terrible in 3 days, gah (I'm 7+1). Aside from hideous nausea and exhaustion, my brain seems to have turned to papier-mâché! I'm supposed to be doing something relatively complex at work and it's taking me forever and made many mistakes; my research director is now of the opinion that I've turned into a complete moron . I hope 'pregnancy brain' isn't a pregnancy-long condition ?!

HumphreysCorner · 12/02/2009 09:58

Morning all

Cramping still quite nasty here. Have been sick this morning but don't know if that is just worry. Had a dream that I went to the EPU for bloodtests and a scan and the baby had a problem with the spine. Am going to see how things are after the weekend before I phone the antenatal suite. Can't actually find a phone number for the EPU, only the antenatal suite.

Big sympathy for all those worrying about a MC too and all those sicky.

Treats-any news?

Love to all

Hello everyone!

I have been lurking here for a few days, ever since I got my BFP last week, after over two years of trying! I'm pretty sure I'm due on 11th October, as I was taking my temperature to try and pinpoint ovulation, so hopefully that's fairly accurate.

Of course I'm in a state of some anxiety just waiting for the scan now, but it's less than three weeks now til my first midwife appointment.

I haven't got any symptoms yet apart from sore boobies - I think I'm more tired and hungry than usual, but don't know how much of that is all in my mind! My mother didn't get any morning sickness at all in any of her three pregnancies, so here's hoping that I got that set of genes!

Nice to meet everyone!

HumphreysCorner · 12/02/2009 10:49

Hello and welcome KKKKaty and congratulations. I am 7 weeks today but freaking out and it is another 5 weeks until a scan. Haven't even seen the midwife yet and won't until about 9 weeks.

On Fertility Friend for week 7 it says you might feel cramping as the uterus stretches so hoping this is what I have.

Morning ladies-back from docs-poor dd has laryngitis and obv. feels like crap hence why we have both had no sleep for the past 3 nights
my ms is turning more and more like it was with dd-i'm ok-ish up til lunch then it kicks in big time!!!!

Calyipso-i'm very sorry to say that my good pre dd brain has never returned i'm just hoping it doesn't get worse each time-i don't think i have enough brain cells left!!!!! Hopefully you'll be more lucky!!

Sending everyone sticky baby thoughts-hope everyone is well.

I'd kill for an afternoon nap-Dp really did pick the best week to be away!!!

idreamofbeanie · 12/02/2009 11:25

Morning all, 7 weeks today hooray! Since getting booked in with the doctor (and being congratulated) I am finally starting to feel as though I might be pregnant. I am absolutely shattered - seem to need loads of sleep but not actually sleeping very well as I usually lie more or less in the recovery position but my boobs are too sore for that. Trying to get used to sleeping on my back but not happening yet. Nausea is a bit better this week, not sure if I have worked out how to keep it at bay by snacking or if it is really better but trying to just enjoy feeling better rather than worrying it means there is a problem!

Treats · 12/02/2009 11:37

Good news! I had the scan yesterday afternoon and everything is absolutely fine. The baby is about 4.1mm and they dated him/her at 6 + 1, which exactly aligns with my dates. They were able to see a 'yolk sac' (whatever that is ) and DH and I could see a tiny pulsating blob which was the baby's heartbeat. It was all very exciting.

So - if you get spotting, like I did, try not to panic. It might not be anything at all......

HC - sorry to hear your news. can you get to an EPU?

varicose - I'm sorry that your scan wasn't conclusive. Hang in there, because it might be OK.

Cazza - I've been having mild constipation. Not really bad - I just need to make a bit more 'effort' than normal

Calypso - interested to hear about your symptoms. Until yesterday, I was quite worried about not having had any sickness, but I'm only 6+2, so maybe it will kick in a bit later, like yours did. I would, of course, be perfectly happy to do without, though........

Hope everyone else is well.

IDOB - Hurray for your GP! I finally have an appointment tonight, but am not feeling as apprehensive now.
