Here goes-I got a BFP on DPO 11 which makes me due 1st October. Was going to avoid the antenatal thread until I was completely sure but have already done 3 tests and am still not convinced. Come on and join in the worry fun.

Hi All,

Went to the Doctors Thursday and said about my brown spotting he said that is was pretty normal and not to worry, so that has put my mind at rest. Didn't really do much else so I suppose I just wait till they get in contact again.

12 weeks seems like ages at the moment I am bursting to tell everyone now, will just have to be strong. another 5 and a bit to go (actaully that makes it sound a bit better! )

lizzie have everything crossed for you.

Icantbelieveitsnotbitter · 09/02/2009 12:40

Hi girls ! Got a BFP on Friday - LMP was sometime between Xmas & New Year (guessing 28th) which I think gives me an EDD of 1 October 2009. Clearblue gave me 2-3 weeks since conception which I think is about right.

It will be my 2nd (have a DS 5 in May).

On the countdown to 12 weeks.......

Pepperpots and scorpio - big hugs, am really sorry. Life is unfair.

I have been for my scan (private, one hundred and bloody seventy quid) - the good news is I can see a yolk sac in the right place, bad news no heartbeat but that's because I have screwed my dates up and am only 5 weeks DOH. So I have to go back in three weeks. So still in limbo, slightly better off but worse off financially....

Cazza28 · 09/02/2009 15:22

hi Icantbelieveitsnotbitter my LMP was 27th December and the Dr has given me EDD of October 04th if that helps at all.

babyinacorner · 09/02/2009 15:22

Hi Everyone

Pepperpots and scorpio, really sorry to hear your news, take care of yourselves.

I haven't been on the last couple of days as have been away. Went and had scan on friday and luckily saw a heartbeat - was such a relief. They have dated me at 6 weeks which matches with what I thought. Still getting the cramps and nauseous in the middle of the night.

doggus · 09/02/2009 15:26

Well done babyinacorner - that must be so reassuring.

CookieMonster1 · 09/02/2009 15:42

Pepperpots and Scorpio, really sorry to hear your news. A big hug to you both. Please keep us posted if you can.

Babyinacorner, I had cramps in the middle of the night a couple of days last week and quite badly over the weekend. I couldn't decide whether they were proper cramps to worry about or just due to a crampy/gassy digestive system. My digestive system has been a little strange to say the least over the last couple of weeks. But I will spare you the details....

Anyone else having similar issues?

HumphreysCorner · 09/02/2009 15:51

Welcome to the newbies and congrats to you.

When we have had scans done we can do an updated list of definite dates.

Going to attempt a trip to mum and dad's so I don't have to face getting the girls their tea and bathing them.

See you all later!

Sorry to hear the news pepperpots and scorpio

I had bleeding this afternoon when I went to the loo - proper bright red bleeding. So I've been to the Emergency Gynaecology Unit at St Thomas'. They did a urine test (which presumably showed that I was pregnant - I didn't actually ask) and then a blood test. They couldn't tell me much, but said that if the scan I'm already booked in for on Wednesday was 'inconclusive' that I should come back for another blood test immediately afterwards, and they can then compare the results. So I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed I suppose . there was no further bleeding when I went to give my urine sample, and I haven't had any pain, so hopefully everything's OK.

Anyway - apart from that - I've got some extraordinary news. DH and I went to see both of our parents yesterday to break the happy news (as it was then - and hopefully still is!). They're all thrilled and my mum was absolutely over the moon!

Then my sister called in the evening. I'd told her last week, because she and her DH have been trying and I thought it might be difficult for her. She said "I've got something to tell you....." and, well - you've guessed it - she's also just had a BFP! If our dates are right and all goes according to plan, she'll be having a baby about 9 days after me........

I'm obviously thrilled for her, but couldn't help feeling just a little bit that I'm not going to be the 'special one' anymore. And I think my mum's completely overwhelmed......

Sorry - in a rush. Haven't had time to read all the weekend posts but hope everyone's well.

theboob · 09/02/2009 18:06

scorpio and pepperpots,so very sorry
thinking of you both x x

tracyea · 09/02/2009 18:51

Scorpio and pepperpots that's so sad, I'm thinking of both of you and keep on trying...

melonian · 09/02/2009 19:04

Hello! Another newbie checking in! Got my BFP yesterday, already have a 9 month old so this could be interesting!

Am only 4/40 and no symptoms yet, so hope I'm not jinxing things by posting here.

EDD is 18th Oct and was 2 weeks late with DS so I bet I'll be last to pop.

So sad and sorry for all those with scares and MC. Hope everything works out for you all and you have all the support you need.

Hooray for MN. Wish I had found this 1st time round.

RubyBuckleberry · 09/02/2009 19:07

scorpio and pepperpots so sorry life can be so very cruel...

Treats I hope you're ok soon...

CookieMonster I am exactly the same - very dodgy digestive system, particularly at night - I think it is actually trapped gas that is causing the cramps... I originally thought it was period pain and all over... I am still feeling horribly nauseous (i cannot spell nauseous - it looks well dodgy) and my (.)(.) are growing rapidly, and I am eating for Britain, or I feel even more sick! I am assuming all is ok

Well done babyinacorner

My sister's hospital only did scans at 20 weeks imagine! She said the waiting was hideous, although once she had the scan, she could see everything and it was very exciting!

roll on the next 10 or so weeks then... Its all very worrisome isn't it!

BellaCullen · 09/02/2009 19:17

Sorry about your news pepperpots and scorpio .
Treats hope it all works out fine for you.
Been feeling nauseous all day now starts in morning something that really helped was Doritos crisp.Slept very long yesterday till 2 in afternoon was just completly exhausted.Managed to tidy up today been neglected all week just couldnt get strength to do it. Managed to go gp today so hopefully hear from mw soon.Ordered some pregnancy excersise dvd today am 2 stone overweight so would like to tone up a bit gp said thats good to do.

doggus · 09/02/2009 20:30

Treats - got my fingers crossed that all is well for you. And how amazing about your sis. Exactly same thing happened with a friend of mine but it was my friend's first and sister's second so she got first dibs on mother's time and more kudos!

Ruby - at your sis' hospital, I don't think I could take the strain!

HumphreysCorner · 09/02/2009 20:37

A big hello and welcome to melonian and congratulations. I only discovered MN after a MC which I had after DD1 so found being on an antenatal thread with DD2 a godsend.

Treats-how worrying having bleeding. Hope the scan is OK. Congrats to your sister too.

Having 10 minutes where I don't feel too icky but the cramping has returned. Sat with a hot water bottle.

Love to all

I was just thinking i heard the heart beat with ds at 10 weeks but i was size 8/10 then and am a 10/12 now with the extra weight being mostly arround my tummy. So it may possibly be the 12 week scan when i first see/hear the heart beat for the firt time.
I think its easier to hear the heart beat the with a dopla(sp?) the less weight you are carrying. HMMMPH... i was hoping to hear something on Thursday the most she'll probably do is a have a feel of my tum i guess. (mental note wear nice knickers )

Is anyone being a real stressy cow? I think its the tiredness and inability to sleep despite the tiredness.

sammysam · 10/02/2009 07:52

I'm so sorry pepperpots and scorpio I hope you are both ok (well as can be) and are getting all the support you need and deserve. Treats-I hope you are ok as well.

I am a hormonal wreck, crying one min getting very angry the next with most other emotions in between.......poor dd having to take the brunt of it seeing as dp is away.....and she is especially testing me at the moment as well-not the best timing
Got into bed as soon as dd was in bed and tried to get a very early night but my mum rang and then for some reason my normally very good sleeping dd kept waking up from 11-640 when I gave up she (and I) hardly got any sleep and so she isn't in the best mood today

My sis's sil found out she was pregnant and by lmp she worked out she was due aug10th, she had her first scan at the start of last week and they dated her 16wks 5days not 12wks-she thinks she must have had a period in the first month (they weren't ttc). Anyway she missed all the dates for the usual downs etc tests and had a blood test at the end of last week that has given her a very high chance of baby having downs syndrome....i'm not sure how high but they are all very worried-i'm not sure what their next steps are.....I hope they are ok.

The more I hear the more i worry.....I was so lucky that everything went so smoothly with dd-just keeping my fingers crossed it does this time as well........

Hope everyone else is well this morning
