Here goes-I got a BFP on DPO 11 which makes me due 1st October. Was going to avoid the antenatal thread until I was completely sure but have already done 3 tests and am still not convinced. Come on and join in the worry fun.

Evening all, had a very busy week and haven't been on for ages...just thought I'd pop in and do a 'benchmark' on everyone's symptoms!

Lizzie, so sorry to hear what you're going through, thoughts are with you and hope your little one is strong enough to hold on.

I've been really really tired, had a few cramps which made me nervous at the time, but in all honesty were very brief. My (.)(.) are very sore, which seems to be about par for the course, I've only just hit five weeks so think I'm a bit behind in the symptom stakes.

I've had some nausea this evening too, but I've remedied it with a bag of crisps and I'm not feeling very convinced that it was MS related, more likely worried myself in to it.

I'm finding it so hard to keep my mind off it, and desperately don't want to get stressed (I've miscarried before late in the first trimester).

I'm glad someone has mentioned about excess saliva - I keep waking up dribbling - LOL! Can I blame the pg?!

Sparklytwinkletoes · 07/02/2009 20:41

x-posted HC coz it took me ages to write my post! about the saliva dribbling.

I've noticed I've got more 'ooziness' but its not too bad, just makes me worry till I've checked. I'm fairly sure its all very normal!

Hi again everyone, hope you're all having a decent weekend.
Lizzie, I'm so sorry to hear your news.

A bit about me, if anyone is remotely interested - I'm 35, from s Wales and living nr Liverpool with husband & dog. I work as a sales manager for a London publishing agency - well I do until the end of Feb. We've been trying to get pg for a few years and as the job has been so stressful, I decided to leave to see if that would help. Handing in notice 6 months ago clearly did the trick! I'm dying to share the news with my mum in Wales but don't want to until I get to my 12th week.

Having terrible headaches at the moment which may be caffiene withdrawl or hormones? I'm also very emotional but I'm not sure how much that has to do with being pg and how much it has to do with the news about my beloved Collie-we found out this week that she is dying of liver failure and hasn't got long. Such a bittersweet week-on Sunday we find out I'm pg and on Thursday we find out the dog is terminally ill.Head is all over the place.

Only other sysmptoms are daily cramps, it feels like my whole stomach is stretching and then there are the sharp pains which I heard described on another thread as KNUF - (knitting needle up fanjo) which are worse at night. We had to see a specialist about our dog this week and I ran out of the room to be sick, the suddeness of it took me by suprise. Finding car travel v difficult. Weeing constantly-I now have a great selection of books and puzzle magazines in the loo!

Morning everyone!
Dp left early this moring for his skiing trip and I am an emotional wreck. Uncontrollably crying and being so pathetic that dd has become very worried about me (poor thing) I know he is only away for a week but for some reason i'm really worried about him and also how i'm going to cope this week feeling so rough with no one to help with dd.......I'm sure i'll be ok

Going to mope around on the sofa for a while!

Happytangerine-i'm so sorry to hear about your dog-it is so hard-they become so much a part of your family and create such a hole when they are gone.....sending lots of love-what horrid timing

theboob · 08/02/2009 09:23

Morning

I am lost.....i cannot work out my EDD? 2 sites are saying different things...I do have weird cycles though and was BF, so who knows! LMP was 1st Jan, my 3 periods since dc3 birth was all 35 days .. any helpers??

Feeling quite well here, just tired and sore breasts, almost up into my armpits iyswim. I'm only like 4+3 today so behind in the symptom stakes, i know in 2 weeks it will all kick in!

apushchairq · 08/02/2009 12:31

oh and i'm still terrified of the age gap!

theboob · 08/02/2009 12:44

apushchairq you will be fine
sorry cant help with the EDD might be an idea to go as you are and wait till scan for conformation,we have 3 dc already one more wont make a difference, will you still feed dd when dc4 comes along??? saw a lady at my bf group with a newborn and 2 yr old feeding at the same time i really did not know you could do that
feeling a little better now, just force fed myself beans on toast
love to you all x

apushchairq · 08/02/2009 12:45

its called tandem feeding, and yes i expect so! Another MNer is talking to me over email about it, to answer my silly questions! I dont know wether to go from LMP date or cycle adjusted?

HumphreysCorner · 08/02/2009 13:25

Morning ladies

HappyTangerine-I am sorry to hear about your doggie.

theboob-the sickness is just awful isn't it? Am feeling quite depressed at the thought of another 6 weeks of this as I just cannot function and feel sorry that the 2 girls are being neglected. Running out of ideas as to how to explain to DD1 why I am sick all the time.

sammysam-sorry you are left alone when you feel so ill. People tend to say you are not ill you are PG. Well, I am ill. apushchairq-I get different EDD results so am waiting for a scan. Based on you LMP of 1st Jan it would make you due 8th Oct but only if you ovulated on day 14 of a 28 day cycle.

Just had some soup, going to try some bread now. Have such a horrible acidy taste in my mouth from being sick so much.

Love to all

Hey all,

sorry those of you who have actually been sick. I've been feeling rough but not as bad as you.

Told PIL last night about pg, they were so thrilled. BUT then MIL started telling me stories about her pregnancies... Turns out DH was so huge that despite her having caesarian, he was still wedged in and they had to force him out! Turns out it's quite big babies on their side... Yikes!!

theboob · 08/02/2009 15:32

HC ,it is horrible being ill.i have learned that i have to eat small and regular to beat it
apushchairq i asked all of those silly questions too,i found it amazing

happy , sorry about your dog
starting to feel sick again, just waiting for dh to get back from shopping then i can nibble on something to get rid of it
i hope it goes soon!
kitty ouch!! that sound's awful
sammysam my dh was away all last week when i was really ill...my ds1 was my helper and really helped me alot, bless him he's so grown up ,it is horrible being alone though,dh off again tomorrow

apushchairq · 08/02/2009 16:11

Well i think i am due on the 15th - +7 days omto a 28 cycle, and thats me, so that is making sense, yes?

Will just tell the MW my LMP, and wait for the scan to date, because its uncertain because of the BF. Plus, that will hopefully mean DH can be here for my first scan - in my 13th week LMP he is away for a fortnight, so im hoping (like before) that we will get scanned during the 12th week LMP, when he will be here, and if i get put back, then fine

I'm soooo tired! So by LMP I'm 5+3, but more likely 4+3 i think! Will go by 'my' 4+3 to mysekf i think...oh who knows!

Will book MW for 9 weeks LMP.

HumphreysCorner · 08/02/2009 18:16

I'm going to make an appointment with the the MW if I get to week 9.

Have managed a bit of food but I bet I'll pay for it later.

Just checking in after a few days when I haven't even had the energy for MN(!) I see people have been introducing themselves a bit, so for what it's worth, here's me: 31, living in Aberdeenshire, am currently a SAHM to ds (2.5), although attempting to do a bit of freelance proofreading and editing but I'm glad I don't have any work on at the moment as it's the last thing I want to think about when ds goes off to bed, even though the money's handy.

How are people getting on at work? Can't imagine how I coped at work last time. At least at home I can bung on a dvd for ds and have a quick doze on the sofa. Feeling very nauseous all the time. Finding my house almost unbearably smelly and enjoying the very fresh air we have outside here at the moment (still got loads of snow). Has anyone else found that the clumsiness has kicked in yet? I've shut my finger in a drawer, nearly fallen down the stairs and keep dropping things.

doggus · 08/02/2009 20:11

Happytangerine - laughing at KNUF. Poor doggie, so sad when that happens.

Humphreyscorner - please please pretty please would you do my edd? Last period started 24th Dec BUT did not ovulate til Day 18 - how does that affect it? head falls off in confusionKitty - I reckon it's all about the size of the head not the baby. My ds head was TINY and I still couldn't get it out! So no hard and fast rules.

theboob - hope you feel better tomorrow. I had a bad day too today and only had to cope with one toddler which was bad enough!

HumphreysCorner · 08/02/2009 21:20

doggus-I would say the 5th October but your scan will confirm. The MW will tell you the 1st October I should think.

KleineMaus-I worked through both the last pregnancies but there is no way I could go to work feeling like I do so I'm pleased I am a SAHM at the moment. Dropping things is so normal.

Morning all, hope everyone had a great weekend. I spent most of it curled up on the sofa watching the rugby which was just what I needed. Still feeling sick most of the day but I'm getting used to ignoring it as much as possible. Have developed a weird pain in my side - feels a bit like a tight knot about an inch below my ribs on my left hand side. It's probably nothing but these first few weeks seem to be made for worrying! GPs appt on Wednesday - hooray. It will all feel a bit more official once I'm booked in. See the midwife a week later so hopefully I won't have to wait too long to get a scan date in the calendar.

theboob · 09/02/2009 10:12

i hope you feel better soon HC,i can not eat ,i have to nibble little and often,i'm hungry but as soon as food is put in frount of me i feel sick i have to force it down,it's a horrible battle but after i'm fine untill i feel hungry again

hope we all feel better soon

LittleMissBliss · 09/02/2009 11:58

Morning all,

I have been fine no more sickness besids that one day, just tiredness.

6 weeks today, 6 to go! I have a midwife appointment on Thurday before she goes on holiday. As i want my bloods taken as i had really bad aneamia in my last pregnancy and was at risk of internal bleeding, i really don't want to risk it happening in this pregnancy.

Does anyone know if the can hear a heart beat at 6 weeks?

varicoseveined · 09/02/2009 12:17

Hi everyone,

Found out on Saturday that I'm expecting baby number 2! This is a complete surprise but I'm really happy and looking forward to it I had forgotten how worrisome the first 12 weeks are! With DD, I didn't really have any symptoms until 7 weeks I was very tired over the weekend, less so now but this morning I was so hungry - had 2 slices of toast, a banana, some strawberries, a kiwi fruit all by 10am - that's far more than I'd usually eat!

My EDD (by my calculations) is 11/10/09

varicoseveined · 09/02/2009 12:20

LittleMissBliss - IIRC, my GP was wary of even listening for a heartbeat even at 15 weeks and was pleasantly surprised when she heard DD's at that point Good luck!
