Here goes-I got a BFP on DPO 11 which makes me due 1st October. Was going to avoid the antenatal thread until I was completely sure but have already done 3 tests and am still not convinced. Come on and join in the worry fun.

Hey all hope you've had a good day. Had a bit of nausea today but no sickness - thankfully. Kept eating all day, mostly biscuits! Yum. Luckily this is not suspicious because that was also my pre-BFP eating style!

Really can't be having MS because I work in a nursery and they will KNOW it's not just a tummy bug! I'm gonna keep the news as secret for as long as possible! Mwahaha! My colleagues keep asking me when I'm going to have one of my own and I just say "oh, not for ages!"

Anyone else out there having to go to work and keep it a big secret?

Idreamofbeanie I wonder if maybe your SIL is more approachable and secretive than your brother? After all, she should have a good idea of your concerns. Maybe you could ask her to shift the date forward a month?

Let us know how it goes!

LittleMissBliss · 03/02/2009 22:10

Hi newbies. congratulations!

I have slept from 5pm (when dp arrived home for work) until 8pm! Got up in time to put ds to bed. Had a digestive and felt allot better. Then made myslef a sandwich at arround 9pm but now feel a little queezy again. Oh well not much i can do but a little re-assuring that there are quite a few of us in the same boat at such an early stage.

Looks like i will be living off of digestives for a little while as propper food makes me feel awful.

I felt fine last time so this is all new to me.

hackneybird · 03/02/2009 22:20

clears throat

Another one here, due 11th Oct I think and I am very, very newly PG, only about 4 wks. This will be #1.

AF only a few days late, but just felt really really weird all day today. Was getting BFN from cheapie internet tests but got a FirstResponse from Boots and both tests came up with a faint pink line.

First month of 'proper trying' after an MC a year ago. Totally terrified it'll end the same way so feeling happy, but not excited if you know what I mean.

Congrats to everyone else. If I make it to 20 weeks I might start taking this lark seriously

ChucklesMcMummy · 03/02/2009 22:31

Hi All

I don't want this to sound like I'm rubbing it in beacause I'm not, but really scared I don't seem to be having the sickness everyone else is reporting although have the most blinding headache and tiredness. Starting to wonder if I've made this all up but the 2 tests say otherwise. Maybe I'll do another test, just to make sure!

Night all

sammysam · 04/02/2009 08:02

Littlemiss-sorry to hear you were so bad yesterday-very of your sleep though!!!

Chuckles-please don't worry-I know so many people who never even felt slightly sick-just count yourself lucky-it really isn't much fun....had to go to tesco yesterday as we had no food...even writing the list I was very nearly sick then walking round I had so so many dodgy moments....think that may be the last trip I can make for a while-not sure what i'll do next week when dp is skiing though

Welcome Hackneybird-sorry to hear about your mc-sending you lots and lots of sticky-ness this time

One of my close friends has guessed...she is too observant and saw the travel sickness bands i'm wearing.....really couldn't think of a reason...but I didn't tell her iyswim?! I'll have to be more careful now! She is beside herself with excitement!

God please just let everything be ok {huge big wish]

sammysam · 04/02/2009 08:03

Ps How are you this morning Cazza?

Cazza28 · 04/02/2009 08:19

Good Morning All

Congrats Hackneybird sorry to all of you who are feeling crap.

No more nasty brown stuff I am please to say I had nightmares about waking up this morning with full on AF - but touch wood nothing else will happen today. Drs tomorrow so hopefully he can put my mind at rest.

Started gagging while in the shower this morning to although not sick so taking that as a positive thing.

Have a good day all xxx

ChucklesMcMummy · 04/02/2009 08:53

Cazza that is great news - fingers and toes crosses for you.

Thanks Sammysam. Feeling a bit more positive today . Have you thought about doing shopping online? I was planning on doing that as I don't think I'll be able to carry the shopping home for too much longer, all being well. I used to do it when I worked full time and it remembers your previous shopping list so you wouldn't have to think too much about the food side of things!

Hope everyone had a good night's sleep and looking forward to a better day today
xxx

theboob · 04/02/2009 09:42

KleineMaus · 04/02/2009 10:11

This is just a quick reply to Doggus, sorry so slow, no I'm not German, the name is a nickname I had while working in Germany years ago. Morning to everyone else!

ChucklesMcMummy · 04/02/2009 11:37

Thanks Boob.

Just out of interest, did anyone else not have sickness with boys? I wonder if there is a link maybe? I don't mind either way, just curious

patmum · 04/02/2009 12:33

Chuckles - I've only had one, but he was a boy and was lucky enough not to be sick at all.

If there is something in your theory then I want another boy!!!

sammysam · 04/02/2009 13:01

Chuckles-I had bas morning sickness with dd...
but I also know people who didn't have any who had dd's and also people who did and had ds's so who knows
Starting the guessing already!!!

sammysam · 04/02/2009 13:03

chuckles-I was thinking that whilst walking around but think dp will be too tight to pay the delivery.....if that is the case HE can go and do the shopping!!!!

patmum · 04/02/2009 13:15

my only symptom so far is that my brain seems to have gone to mush already. I do have a stinking cold (and have done for the past two weeks since before I did my test) and was blaming the brain fade on that.

However, I'm wondering if it is being pregnant! I can't remember it hitting this badly, this soon last time. Is anyone else totally failing to remember words when they're half way through a sentence and generally being totally dipsy already?

thefunkypea · 04/02/2009 13:31

Hi patmum - I have completely lost the plot, AND it started much later last time round. I can't even remember whether I've taken my vits each morning - I have to tell DH when I have, and then when I panic in the evening, he'll remind me. I also can't get to the end of a sentence, my vocabulary has at least halved, and I can only remember things at work by writing everything down

idreamofbeanie · 04/02/2009 13:47

Thanks funkypea - just remembered as I read your post that I didn't take my vitamins this morning. Better write it on my hand so I don't forget when I get home.

patmum · 04/02/2009 13:48

Hi Funkypea

Thanks for the reminder! Last time I had a hard backed book that I was devoted to writing everything down in so that I wouldn't forget. Generally shopping lists and work stuff. I guess I need to reinstate this before I get myself into trouble. If, of course, I can remember to buy one!

doggus · 04/02/2009 13:52

Congrats to the newbies and welcome to the thread....

I had to go to the GP today as I had such bad constipation - she gave me lactulose, my God that stuff is VILE but it does the trick!

I had a chat to her about various medication I am on (painkillers) and they're safe but I have to cut down before the birth. I have fibromyalgia and a slipped disc so i literally can't get up in the morning without some form of analgesic.

Ocado highly recommended for home delivery, I use it every week, it's only £2.99 for delivery if you have an off peak time and when you think of the petrol....

tracyea · 04/02/2009 14:28

Hello All
Please can I join?? If I don't have some girlies to talk to about this I may pop with excitement! Just found out this week, due early Oct and could not be more suprised. Already have DD 9 and DS 6 - had a MC at 12 weeks 2 years ago and never managed to conceive again. Had given up trying and then whoa!!!! Gobsmacked!!! Feeling a bit old too at 38.

I've got a disgusting taste of metal in my mouth and acid indigestion - I'm waiting for the wretching to start - goody!!

Good Luck to all of us!

LittleMissBliss · 04/02/2009 15:35

Congratulations tracyea chuckles I on have a ds and had no morning sickness last time or anything like i felt yesterday. (FINGERS CROSSED FOR A GIRL)

sammysam On mumsnet in the promo section there's always promotional codes each month for free delivery on all the major supermarkets. If you can't find one you can just start a thread asking for one. I did all my food shopping on the internet when i first had ds it was a godsend! Also if you do occationally do have to pay for the delivery, its probably no more than you'd spend on petrol costs + the extra money you spend on impulse buys whilst you're in the supermarket.

Hope everyones well.

Treats · 04/02/2009 15:37

Hi everyone

Cazza - glad you're better today - must have been a horrid day yesterday.

ChucklesMcMumm - I'm not feeling any morning sickness either and have the same worry! I'm tempted to do another test, but am holding out. I've definitely go pregnancy breasts and have been really tired all week, so that's keeping me going for now. Am going to make an appt with the GP for a proper test.

patmum - actually that's another symptom I'm having. I forget whether I've taken my vits or not and have forgotten what I'm going to say while in the middle of a sentence!! That might be just normal though.....

The only other thing I'm finding is that I'm often quite short of breath. Has anybody else found that?

Hello to the newbies. And hope those who are suffering feel better soon.

cazza-that is great news-good luck with the doc tomorrow.

ChucklesMcMummy · 04/02/2009 17:29

Hi All

Re tesco delivery

I just used the promo code xxdel and saved £6.25 even though my delivery charge was only £4. Delivery is coming tomorrow so I won't have to leave the home. Yay!
Thanks LittleMissBliss for the links.

Thanks for your comments Treats, that's reassuring. I do have tender breasts, tiredness and a foggy brain. Can't concentrate for more than 5 mins at a time.

Welcome tracyea and any other newbies and congratulations.

Have a good evening xx
