Here goes-I got a BFP on DPO 11 which makes me due 1st October. Was going to avoid the antenatal thread until I was completely sure but have already done 3 tests and am still not convinced. Come on and join in the worry fun.

Seems another symptom is the over-use of smileys!!!!!!!!

wibblydibs · 03/02/2009 09:05

Hello there...please could I join? All being well I'm expecting #3 on 6th October. Already have DD1 who is 3yrs 4mths and DD2 who is 23mths.

Not got that much in the way of symptoms - feeling queasy on and off, and a bit crampy and tired. Incredibly excited though!

Was lurking on the ttc for October thread and recognise a few names - big congratulations to you all!!

RubyBuckleberry · 03/02/2009 09:20

Hi to everyone who has just joined

idreamofbeanie I don't know what to suggest. What a hard one! Short of making up some story about life threatening surgery... hmmmmm he is going to find out at some point though so maybe you'll have to tell him?!

I feel sick again today and don't want to do anything. I think to myself oh it would be nice to go swimming or something (exercise is supposed to be good and all that) but just want to do sod all! I actually feel like I have severe PMT. A bit mopey and low energy and I just want to eat and sleep! Don't even want to go shopping! I think it is partly not being able to tell anyone - except you guys, which is a relief, but I'd love to tell my best friend as she has just had one and I could talk to her all about it... I just don't want the drama of it all if it goes wrong though!

xxx

idreamofbeanie · 03/02/2009 10:07

Morning RubyBuckleberry, sorry you are feeling a bit blue . This part seems quite tough, you have all the pregnancy symptoms but can't share your news or feel confident about the pregnancy yet. I think this is the time to just indulge yourself when you're tired or sick!

Thanks for the advice about telling my brother but I'm still trying to find a way around it - he really can't be trusted with a secret and we have a large, loving but also tactless and nosy family. Besides my mum would be hurt if I told my brother and not her and she is also terrible with secrets. I don't know why I'm so worried about a mc but can't shake the nerves and this just isn't the way I want to share the news. I guess I could just say yes and then pretend I didn't know about the pregnancy yet - we could pay any rebooking charges if they have to change the villa.

theboob · 03/02/2009 11:08

welcome to all newbies
i am so ill today
i have been sick, have a horrible headache and feel really really sick all the time,i dont think this is morning sickness,i think this is a bug
hope you are all well

RubyBuckleberry · 03/02/2009 11:49

Thanks idreamofbeanie... I had a cry and then felt better and went for a swim... It was fun actually and has made me think I will continue going there...

I know what you mean about your mum being hurt - my mum would be too! I'm worried about MC too as they are so common and can happen at anytime it seems - without any warning signs whatsoever! I really want to enjoy being pregnant but I am really quite anxious about it...

You could just say yes and act as if nothing is different and then when you have to tell him just say you had no idea you were pregnant... He has had one hasn't he? And when did he tell people? He might understand when you eventually do tell him? If you say no - you can't go - then he will want to know why so you will have to make up some big excuse... Or you just say yes and smile sweetly, and then when it comes to it, he will have to deal with it... If he was better at keeping secrets, you would be able to tell him, you could say!

Sorry you feel rubbish theboob hope you feel better soon...

Congrats wibblybibs and welcome!

Cazza28 · 03/02/2009 12:01

Hi All,

Sorry if TMI I have just been to the toilet and had some blood when I wiped not a lot though. I am really panicking now. The Drs office just called to move my appointment to Thursday as the Dr can't get in due to the snow! What's happening.........

RubyBuckleberry · 03/02/2009 12:31

Cazza28 I don't know what to suggest - only time will tell I think - more than likely to be fine though so try not to worry (I'm sorry that sounds so lame and I am sure you are not going to be unable to worry... )

Was it old (brown) blood or fresh (red) blood - from what I have read, if it is old blood it is better news than fresh blood but at the same time there are a million different stories...

Sending good vibes your way... xxx

sammysam · 03/02/2009 12:40

Cazza28- I dug my old P&B magazines out and happened to read last night that implantation bleading can occur up to 9 weeks.....i had no idea! So maybe that is what it is?
I'm sending loads of positive thoughts your way x x x

doggus · 03/02/2009 12:56

Hi Cazza - just wanted to say good luck, know lots of people that had a bleed and went on to have a healthy baby.

Theboob - me too, feel dreadful! I have fibromyalgia whoch makes everything worse but I feel really fluey.

Idreamofbeanie - I like Ruby's plan! When in doubt, white lie, is my motto for getting out of awkward situations.

Sammysam - laughing at the smiley glut!

Cazza28 · 03/02/2009 13:04

Thanks Guys,

It was brown blood and quite watery seems to have stopped after that one wipe. I am praying its ok. I keep going to the loo every 15 minutes to check!

Please, please be ok.

HappyTangerine · 03/02/2009 13:16

Hi everyone and thanks for the welcome

Cazza just wanted to send you some good vibes, I know of many people who have bled throughout and had healthy babies. I wish I could give you a big hug.

Well done on getting out and going for a swim RubyBuckleberry - I had planned to do the same but my morning has been thrown out of whack and now I'm too cold to face the pool!

wibblydibs - hello

Idreamofbeanie-tell a little white lie, it will save your stress levels!

theboob - sending you huge get well vibes

Sammysam - the smileys are addictive though

Feel very teary and emotional today-took dog to the vet this morning and it looks like there could be something wrong with her heart or liver. She's being x rayed tomorrow to check she's not eaten anything dodgy and then blood tests.

Anyone else find their jeans/trousers are getting tight? I come back from work and can't wait to get into jogging bottoms and breathe...

Treats · 03/02/2009 13:21

Amelie - I'm so so sorry to hear your news . You must have been devastated. What does your doctor say? Can he refer you to a recurrent miscarriage clinic? I hope you're looking after yourself - I'm thinking of you.

IDOB - I was going to suggest that you came clean with your brother, but if you really don't want to, then I think Ruby is right and you should accept the invite and pretend you didn't know. At the end of the day, it's your pregnancy and your right to tell your news whenever you want to. I'm sure he and your mum will understand why you kept it to yourself.

Cazza28 - if it's brown blood and it's stopped I think it will be OK. I've got my fingers crossed for you. Let us know how you get on.......

Sammysam - at your sickness, but (I know this is stupid!) a bit as well. I've only had it for about half an hour yesterday so far and I wouldn't mind a bit more reassurance that I am actually pregnant! I was lying awake last night thinking that maybe I'd got all my dates wrong and my period is actually due tomorrow (I didn't and it's not). Sorry to hear you're feeling rubbish though and hope you find something that helps soon.

Ruby - Glad you're feeling better!

Nothing to report here - no more symptoms. Was distinctly wussy when walking to work - holding on wherever I could - because I was terrified of falling, but made it to the office without incident.......

Cazza28 · 03/02/2009 14:21

So far so good still no more I think it has been about 2 hours now since. So glad we have mumsnet! Just need to get through till Thursday to see the Dr.
xx

lizzie9442 · 03/02/2009 14:43

Hi How is everyone?
Fingers crossed for you cazza. I'm sure everything is fine as it sounds like it was just old blood. Try not to worry to much, easier said than done I know.

Anyway I have just spoke to midwife to see if I could have early scan as I have not had a period between a mc on the 18th dec and this pregnancy. Just unsure of dates and can't help but worry as I got pregnant so soon after mc. The midwife said I probably wouldn't be able to get re-assurance scan so now booked in with midwife for 20th feb. So I am just going to have to wait for a scan . The early weeks are so worrying.

LittleMissBliss · 03/02/2009 15:38

Hi all felt really sick all day today really bad headache and just feeling really sick. Have been curled up on the sofa all day, just getting up to change ds's nappy and make him lunch, get him his drink and snacks. Poor chap has been good as gold just wondering around, playing and watching the snow in the garden.

Theboob i feel for you, i think i have what you have, unless its pregnancy sickness but i'm only 5+1 so am confused as why i would feel so sick so early on.

cazza28 hope your not too worried, brown blood sound like possible implantation bleeding?

HumphreysCorner · 03/02/2009 16:50

Hello and welcome to newbies. Please feel free to add yourselves to the list.

Cazza-sorry to hear you have had some bleeding. Roll on Thursday.

I am sick, sick, sick with a banging headache. Never had MS this early with the girls. Feel rotten and don't know what to eat to keep it down. Ugh!

Big wave!

Hope it's not too late to join. I've been lurking for a few days. According to my own (so possibly not entirely accurate) calculations I'm due with no.2 (DS 2.5) 30th September, but thought October group might be more sensible to join as will very probably end up being October.
Feeling completely bleugh 24 hrs (even feel sick when I wake up in the middle of the night, which I have been doing loads ever since I got pregnant - anyone else found this?) Wondering how I'm ever going to get through this stage without putting on loads of weight as eating is the only thing that helps!

HumphreysCorner · 03/02/2009 19:33

Hello and welcome KleineMaus. Congratulations to you. I am feeling the same and if I wake up in the night the nausea hits me. Have got a packet of digestives next to the bed and keep nibbling. My weight is piling on but I'll worry about that when the sickness passes.

Welcome KleineMaus - I love your name, are you German? I am feeling sick in the middle of the night too. Ds is going through a stage of coming into our bed on any spurious pretext at about 3am and that's when nausea strikes!

JudithDawn · 03/02/2009 20:01

Hiya,

can I join your gang?

I'm a 37 year old first timer, got two pink stripes on Monday, didn't sleep last night, saw a doctor today who reckons I could be due 2nd Oct-ishy.

Am feeling ok, just a little star struck. DP over the moon.

Feel like I want to tell people, especially my mum and dad. Live miles from family - Just spoke to mum on the phone about the snow, and thought I sooo have bigger news than the weather - but kept it in.

look forward to getting to meet you over the coming weeks and months

pepperpots · 03/02/2009 20:11

Evening ladies
Well my tests finally turned up and I have taken them all and I am pleased to report that they have gone from a light pink (ebay cheapies) to the line the same as the control line between Thursday and yesterday
I have an appointment with midwife tomorrow so they can arrange for an early scan for me (ruptured ectopic 14 months ago )
Am starting to feel quite sickly in the evening and afternoon now with a horrible taste in my mouth, that nothing seems to get rid of. I'm also getting hunger pains even though i've just eaten
Cazza - any news yet?
Hope everyone else is ok with lots of symptoms

HumphreysCorner · 03/02/2009 20:22

Excellent news pepperpots. Wondered where you had gone.

Welcome and congratulations JudithDawn. I always tell my mum before anyone. Well, after MN and DH of course.

Hi pepperpots - well done. Your ruptured ectopic sounds harrowing.

Welcome JudithDawn - I had my first at 37 and mumsnet got me through. I couldn't wait then and told my mum at six weeks, she was so thrilled.

BellaCullen · 03/02/2009 22:00
