dinkystinky · 21/01/2009 21:10

Ooh scary movies - cant do them to save my life (not since I took my sister to see some movie ages ago (Scream 2?) and she spent the entire film screaming and kicking the seat in front - in which a huge hulking skinhead was sitting and getting increasingly irritated - have never been so scared in my life, cant even remember what the film ws about)......

Spotty - polar bear position is on your hand and knees, keep back straight, fold your arms down to the floor and rest your head on your hands . Helps move babies in non-optimal positions out of them - though sounds like your bubs may be pointing the right way round...

littleboyblue · 21/01/2009 21:15

Oooggs Hey!!!!! Can't wait to hear all about it. Hope you're getting enough rest. x
dinky at your experience watching scream 2.

pluto · 21/01/2009 21:17

Going to be glued to MN tomorrow Ooogggs - want all the details of your lovely Luke And it'll get me out of shower and oven cleaning...

chilledmama · 21/01/2009 22:07

McDreamy- Bimbles are the size 1 version of Bumbles. I have Bumbles and they are brilliant and are a 'birth to potty' nappy. Unless you are expecting a really small baby I wouldn't bother with the bimbles and go straight to the bumbles.
Bumbles are really adjustable and have built in fleece liner which keeps bottoms nice and comfy (although I do use washable fleece liners to make disposal easier). They dry really quickly too because the booster bit is removable which was one of the main reasons I went for them as I don't have a tumble dryer or wish to use one.
I have a few tots bots bamboozles(size 2) and they are really absorbant but I didn't find them as adjustable as the bumbles until quite recently although that may be my DS bumless shape rather than the nappy. As they are bamboo they take longer to dry but not that much longer (overnight on radiator).

chilledmama · 21/01/2009 22:34

DS coughing enough to make me want to cry for him. Time for medicine me thinks!!

PollyLogos · 22/01/2009 05:57

Can I just leave a message for PEMPE please?

Pempe I have sent you an email with my phone numbers so if you need anything at all whilst you are in athens let me know and I will very willingly do what I can to help.

otherwise good luck and I hope all goes well.

mumoverseas · 22/01/2009 06:48

morning all. No new arrivals then?
my money is on MS as she is clearly delirious (sp?) and nesting madly.
I've got absolutely no inclination to clean anything but am getting quite obsessive about sorting out all the baby clothes and drove DH mad last night out shopping buying more stuff for the LO. Well I HAD to, Debenhams had 50% off some stuff and an extra 10% on production of a text from them that they sent to customers on their database and mothercare had up to 75% off. It would have been stupid not to

Those of you worried about not having nice shiny sparkling ovens, do what I did when back in the UK in December. I got a company to come in and professionally clean it. Think they were called cookerburra and have then all over the UK. They were on their hands and knees for over 2 1/2 hours and have to say it was the best £90 I've ever spent. It was like having a brand new oven again. I know it was a lot of money but well worth it.

MS, thanks for the warning about that hotel in Great Yarmouth, think I might give that one a miss.

idontbelieveit · 22/01/2009 07:04

Morning all. Just pooping on to say hi. Going to do my tax return today so won;t be about much. Had a lovely day with dd yesterday to make up for tues.
Congrats once again Ooogs, we need details!

Other CS peeps. Got any birthplan tips?

Hope everyone has a good day.

Pempe · 22/01/2009 07:26

My money's on MS too....
Nothing exciting happened in the night (DH snoring so loudly I had to sleep in the spare room is not exciting). Have woken to the same pains and discomfort, but am now thinking....hmm....false alarm??? Maybe I'm always 1cm dilated, so actually nothing's new?
So now he has 3 hours to start something (waters breaking, contractions) otherwise we hit the road for Athens.
Pollylogos - thanks so much for your email, I did get it yesterday - I may well be in touch in Athens!

littleboyblue · 22/01/2009 07:43

Morning all. Bit of a better night here. No plans for today again....
Don't really know whaqt to do with ds, it's far to cold and horrid to go out and I'm far too tired, do feel a bit guilty but only a few more weeks til baby here and then a few weeks to fall in to new routine and we can start getting out and about again.
Hope everyone else ok.

LittleMissNorty · 22/01/2009 08:13

KT1983 · 22/01/2009 08:28

Morning all,

Glad to see your home ooogs cant wait to hear all about it

Hope everyone else is doing ok today? Cant wait to find out whos going to be next.
Im def up for going to a movie that will give this little baby a kick start into action!
I decided last night after a huge tantrum as I had stomach ache from hell, sharp pains in my bits & continuious itching that I am officially over being pregnant.

Feeling a little bit more positive today & im booked in for an Aqua Aerobics class at 11.30, so looking forward to getting my mind off being pregnant for an hour or so.

I also really feel like I want a shopping spree Not really much point until I have a waist back again I guess.

Have a good day all - im off to stock up on pineapple & try the trick of lbb sitting on the washing machine

littleboyblue · 22/01/2009 08:30

Hahaha. Good luck with it, not doing much good here! I must have another stubborn lo. Wonder where he gets that fron

KT1983 · 22/01/2009 08:37

well after last night il give anything a go! Ive got this horrible feeling that im still going to be in this position at 40+ weeks, so ive a long way to go....

PinkTulips · 22/01/2009 09:10

just marking for later... welcome home ooogs

MarkStretch · 22/01/2009 09:29

No baby coming outta me!

Just fanjo pain this morning so birth-balling. It's odd because after 2 hrs of tightenings yesterday I felt disappointed when they went as I was really up for it! Then I think, 'Nah I'll be pleased if he stays in until the CS'.

Swings and roundabouts....

Welcome home Oogggs- bet it feels amazing to have your baby boy home!

McDreamy · 22/01/2009 09:34

Morning all

Welcome home ooogs and baby Luke, looking forward to hearing all about it later.

llb thanks for the nappy advice. Think I might go straight for the bumbles then as I think I will start with disposables for the first few of weeks.

This nappy decision is quite clearly on my mind as I dreamt I was a nappy lady last night but my job was to stand on street corners and preach about them as people were shopping

Getting loads of amazing movements, my bump is moving so biazzarely if you saw it on a movie you wouldn't believe it!

Just catching up on Masterchef at the moment but must get the nursery finished today!

Hope everyone has a good day

MamaGoose · 22/01/2009 09:40

Ok I confess I am now officially bored of waiting. Every day I wake up/get up in the night and think oh, is this it today. And then it's not. I know I shouldn't moan after worrying about having another premature baby but now I am totally bored, bored, bored. Probably should remind myself of this in a few weeks when I frazzled with a newborn and haven't had 10mins for a shower all day. And yes, I'm not actually due until end of next week.

And my mother is like a shadow. Aaaah. I need my space.

swampster · 22/01/2009 09:41

McDreamy, if I could have just two kinds of nappy it would by BumGenius by day, Baby Beehinds by night. With a Stacinator fleece wrap for sure plus a couple of ME Airflows for good measure. If I was allowed one more kind I'd throw in a couple of Sandy's for good measure. That is it. But it has taken me an AWFUL lot of nappy-brands to get here. And I've enjoyed every minute of it.

MarkStretch · 22/01/2009 09:51

MamaGoose I hear ya sister!

I am officially bored of being pregnant.

thehouseofmirth · 22/01/2009 10:14

Morning! DS slept until 8.20am so I am feeling a bit more human today!

Those of you wishing your babies would come quicker - are you MAD? Or am I just rememebring dealing with anewborn as being harderthanit is? I gues second time round the shock's not so great (well, that's what I'm hoping...)

Must get dressed and go and buy bread then attack my To Do List. I hope it's rainy & gloomy until well after the baby's born. Have decided I only get wotlrf up about the cleaning thing on those sunny days where every bit of dust and smear is illuminated! How my domestic standards have fallen since DS was born.

Pempe hope all goes well today, whatever happens...
