LittleMissNorty · 22/01/2009 10:24

fuck - BP up again, swelling and protein in wee, so sister coming to have DD for the day, and I get to spend the day in hospital AGAIN!

What a PITA!

PinkTulips · 22/01/2009 10:28

mamagoose... so with you on the bored front!

it wouldn't be so bad if i could spend the time between now and baby coming getting some rest before dealing with a newborn but the reality is i'm getting more sore and exhausted by the day and i'm incapable of doing most of the 10,000 jobs that need doing due to hugeness/pain/lack of energy so every day that goes by is making more work for me when kung fu panda does decide to shift.

THOM.... life with dd as a newborn was pure unadulterated hell all right, but ds was as placid and sleepy as you could imagine.... i'll never forget my mom on the phone to my dad on our first night home laughing about the fact that i didn't seem to know what to do with myself as he was just sleeping constantly! my view is, if it's another like dd then i want to get started on that year of hell sooner rather than later and get it done.... if it's one like ds then yes having a newborn would be a thousand times easier than being pregnant!

good luck today pempe... hope lo saves you a long trip and shifts quickly!

idontbelieveit · 22/01/2009 10:28

oh no LMN, hope it comes back down when you're next checked.

PinkTulips · 22/01/2009 10:29

LMN... sorry you've got another day in hospital ahead.... hope all is ok though, fingers crossed it's not the dreaded PE.

dinkystinky · 22/01/2009 10:36

Morning all. Had my 36 week check today with GP and all is fine - she also confirmed that the baby is 4/5 engaged which explains why I have that constant "I must wee NOW!" feeling when I walk/waddle around... am having a word with Squiglet to encourage him to disengage for a bit now please but dont think he's listening. The Doctor also told me that my pesky nocturnal cough could well last for another 4 weeks - great!

Ooggs - hope you had a good, and peaceful, first night home with Luke. Looking forward to hearing the details.

Pempe - best of luck for today, not least with that 5 hour trip to Athens!

MoS - glad to hear you're getting some more retail therapy in. With discounts like that, it would be crime not to shop

LittleSez - forgot to say yesterday, try some Karvol or Olbas oil on a tissue under your pillow at nights, might help reduce the congestion. Steam inhalation also good to reduce it.

THOM - am working on the possibly misguided theory that having a newborn was such hard work first time round as it was a really steep learning curve (never changed nappy, bathed baby etc. etc. - sleep deprivation was ok as was used to that from my job, but all the other stuff was brand spanking new to me) so hopefully this time round it will be easier in that respect.

LMN - so sorry you have to spend the day in hospital again; take plenty of reading material and ear plugs/IPOD. Look on the bright side - at least your DD gets to drive someone else crazy today Hope all is/will be ok.

IDBI - glad you had a much better day yesterday with DD. Cant believe you're going to get to see your little one so soon!!

dinkystinky · 22/01/2009 11:33

Where is everybody? Are you all off having your babies

spottyshoes · 22/01/2009 11:39

welcome home Oooggs. Glad all is well with l.o dinky

america · 22/01/2009 11:40

I'm here feeling generally miserable. Nearly fainted on my way back home yesterday and have felt dizzy and nauseous since then. Ended up going to bed at 8PM and still feel knackered and sick. I was getting really worried about this yesterday as I vomited the duration of my fist labour with DS1. Managed to convince myself this morning that is nothing but still haven't been able to eat anything and feel very uncomfortable with a lot of tightenigns... Uh... It's finally sinking in, I will have another baby soonish...

PinkTulips · 22/01/2009 11:49

i'm here lurking away.... trying to pretend that i don't have a moiuntain of housework to do, not to mention bake cakes for dd's playschool birthday party tomorrow.

stacysmom · 22/01/2009 11:58

I'm lurking too...

So far today I've mopped up cat sick (all good prep, I guess)and made a quiche. After Murray does his thing on the court I really ought to go and paint the patches I sanded down yesterday in our basement room. Then there's the housework (MiL visiting tomorrow so at least when it all goes to pot after LO arrives she can remember that I used to have a tidy house).

I'm still getting loads of kicks and prods so I don't think LO is in any hurry to come see the world just yet (I'm 37+4) although according to my mum and DH I have dropped considerably in the last few days. Looking forward to seeing the midwife next week to see if there's been any progress on the route south...

MrsY · 22/01/2009 12:07

america - just rest as much as possible, and try and sip at water to keep hydrated. Hope things relax soon.

LittleSez I hear you on the blocked up thing. It does wind me up (and poor John!) I'm either blowing of sniffing most of the time, and my nose is an attractive pinky-red! Also wake up with nasty dry mouth/sore throat as I have to sleep with my mouth open.

Dinky - Sure you don't need to start mat leave early?!! Sorry about the cough, is there nothing that you can take to shift it?

Pempe Hope things are ok, and the journey to Athens is not too uncomfortable. Remember, if the road is bumpy, 1cm might become 10cm very quickly!!!!

LMN Bad news on the bp etc., hope the time in hospital goes quickly and all is well. Lucky that your sister can have DD at such short notice.

MS love the pics of your not so lo on facebook. She looks a lot like you!

I'm off to see the midwife (the wonderful midwife of mine!) today, and I'm definatly going to remember to give her my left arm! I'm hoping that I don't end up going to DAU, as we've got so many jobs to do.

dinkystinky · 22/01/2009 12:10

America - hope you're ok hon. Take it easy and drink lots of fluids. Are you on maternity leave now?

Stacysmom - ew, cat sick! That would be guaranteed to make me feel ill myself...

Pink - baking cakes sounds like fun, mountain of housework less so. Hope Kung Fu Panda is behaving himself for you today.

littleboyblue · 22/01/2009 12:23

LMN and america sorry to hear you're both having rough day. Hope you both feel better soon.
Just popped on quick to see if Oooggs has been on but will log on again when ds is having tea. He's in bed now so going back myself, although I wonder if I'd feel better if I just stayed up as always seem to feel more tired when I have to get up again . Think it's because dp's here in bed that it makes me quite jealous that he can stay there and I can't.
Taking full advantage of nap opportunities though coz in a few weeks I may never see my bed again! Slight exageration I know but ykwim.

mslucyisbeached · 22/01/2009 12:56

cot now in our room and bedding in wash for Stanley.

all a bit "Rosemary's Baby" and suddenly makes everything feel incredibly real.

Having an insane craving for fish and chips which I must satify this evening or there will be murder.

still feel shamed by nesting stories.

littlesez · 22/01/2009 12:56

mrsy i know i look so puffy with my red nose, and i have just got images of being in labour and people saying "breathe, breathe" and not being able to breathe properly! daft really

dear all is fanjo a fab feb phrase? it amuses me everytime and i keep saying it! Never heard it before fab feb thread so who started it then, another one that keeps coming up ladygarden so funny, im like a child.

littlesez · 22/01/2009 13:00

dinkystinky have tried the steam and olbus but not really shifted, got some beconase from gp which confused me couldnt see the connection but trying that too, thanks x

dinkystinky · 22/01/2009 13:08

MsLucy - as a fellow lowkey nester, I count washing sheets for cot as most definitely nesting!

LittleSez - so sorry to hear nothing seems to be working; fingers crossed beconase will help.

KazzaL · 22/01/2009 13:35

afternoon ladies - kept typing lots of posts at work yesterday, but they wouldn't work for some reason owrk internet was being stupid all day and then email went down too in the afternoon.

Can't remember much of what I was trying to say, something about wee (i'm suffering too) and then someone had posted about buying a pump to do the tyres on a P&T buggy - I just take mine to the the garage and use the car one - a lot easier even if you do get some funny looks.

chilledmama - i think one of my lost posts was replying to your message offering to investigate car seats for me, so I'll FB message you rather than clog up this thread.

Saw mw yesterday, No2 is fully engaged now and still 3 weeks till it's due to arrive. I said i thought they didn't usually engage on second+ ones and she said it was unusual, but not uncommon so maybe i won't last another 3 weeks..... another week would be good though as very busy weekend ahead painting and sorting nursery, so we can move into spare bedroom, so the plumber can start the ensuite on monday. All the bits for the bathroom arrived about an hour ago - i can't wait, hopefully i;ll get to use it before no2 arrives.

idontbelieveit · 22/01/2009 13:35

Littlesez beconase might take a few days before it starts to work so keep going if it doesn't seem to be doing anythiung to start with.
I thik fanjo and lady garden are mumsnet phrases which have fallen into popular usage
mlib i have failed to nest as well and i only have til monday arrgh! I'm using my energy to have fun with dd til friday then will probably go a bit mental cleaning on sat might do my bedroom thoroughly tonight if i have the energy.

KT1983 · 22/01/2009 13:43

Sorry that some of you are having a rough time of it today with colds, flus & general pregnancy aches.
Ive come to the conclusion - The last four weeks of pregnancy suck! Not only do you feel pants, but your just sat around waiting for action - Im impatient at the best of times.

Im going to Jump on the 'im sick & bored of beging pregnant' band wagon - I just want to meet this little girl NOW

Just got back from Aqua Aerobics - Ive never done it before, it was actually pretty hard, thinking my shoulders are going to ache tomorrow.

Little miss curretnly has a bad case of hiccups going on in there - poor little thing, she must be gettin frustrated with herself, I would be, they've been going on for ages....

KazzaL · 22/01/2009 13:43

oh remembered another thing i wanted to say - someone asked how you know when the baby has gone down and engaged - the bump now rests on my legs when i sit down whihc is a very strange feeling. and my SPD/PGP has got about a million times worse, so i suspect No2 is another big headed mutant like DS & DH

MamaGoose · 22/01/2009 13:44

THOM - I know I shouldn't have said it out loud but actually I don't really have anything to do now. I've done my to-do list. I've even done my tax return and set up my tax return spreadsheet for next year - how sad is that!? I've been to yoga today - v nice - and now I am actually spending every day just waiting. Babygros washed and ironed, even the little moses basket is made up. It's the weird limbo-land of not knowing, not actually being able to go out on big trips because you get tired too easily so just waiting....

thehouseofmirth · 22/01/2009 13:49

MamaGoose I am NOT talking to you now you've said that. Go away and flaunt your Lady of Leisure-ness somewhere else!

MamaGoose · 22/01/2009 13:53

LOL! You can remind me of this in a few weeks when I'm totally frazzled and then laugh at me in an evil, wicked pantomime way.

KT1983 · 22/01/2009 13:57

MammaGoose - That is VERY organised I thought I was doing well.
Now you can sit & chill out until baby is here.
