laidback I'd be in bits if I went over again. Glad you still on top of it though

Last time what really annoyed me was everytime we went to the car, someone would hang out their window or pop to the door of the shop over the road and yell "Goodluck!" and I'd have to yell back "thanx but we're only going to Sainsbury's"

KT1983 · 27/01/2009 09:22

Hiya everyone,

Good Luck today MS Hope al goes well & you can get your little boy out soon xx

Im at my consultant & Scan today to see how much my little girl has grown - If she is still small they said they would make the decision wether to induce me or not. Pretty sure they wont, as I can tell she is getting bigger as my tummy is growing much more in the last few weeks.

Although the thought of seeing my baby sooner rather than later is VERY appealing!!

Anyway, have a good day all, will catch up later to see if any of you have any sign of babies x

swampster · 27/01/2009 09:28

I really want to start nesting but I am too knackered zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

exeunt stage left pursued by and active 2-year-old.

McDreamy · 27/01/2009 10:03

Ooh Swampster you have less than a week left don't you? How exciting!

McDreamy · 27/01/2009 10:06

Calico - need a bit of local knowledge if you don't mind. DH and I have the opportunity to go out for dinner at the weekend - can you recommend a nice restaurant/pub/bistro?

And on Sunday we want to take his parents and brother for Sunday lunch, any nice family friendly places we could book? Thanks

No cooking for me this weekend

MamaGoose · 27/01/2009 10:07

I am with you markstretch. God I'm even getting CS date envy. I'm getting cramps, backache, period-like pains. I wake up in the night with the odd contraction. I'm tearful and I don't want to go out or see people - But I'm still not in labour! I keep dreaming about birth. Last night I dreamt that I couldn't push it out. I just wish I knew when this baby is going to come. It's driving me bonkers!!

LittleMissNorty · 27/01/2009 10:44

MW just been and BP still creeping up so its back to DAU for me this afternoon.....getting silly. Do you think I can persuade them to deliver me? 38+2 today...

McDreamy · 27/01/2009 10:54

LMN for you, how frustrating! I would at least ask the question.

mumoverseas · 27/01/2009 10:55

LMN poor you having to go back again. You might be able to persuade them. I'm having my CS at 37 + 2 and last time was at exactly 37 weeks and DD was absolutely fine, 3.3k which I think was around 7 1/2 lbs (I miss good old fashioned weights, don't understand kilos!)

Is anyone else feeling really dizzy sometimes? I've had it for about the last 5 or 6 days, sometimes when I get up I feel really faint and dizzy. DH reckons I'm not eating enough so have tried to eat a bit more but still feel like fainting a lot of the time. He has been fabulous the last few days as has picked DD up from nursery most of the time to save me the walk (normally 10 mins but now about 15 to 20 each way) Have to waddle her down to ballet in an hour but he will pick us up on the way home which is a relief. Also, getting VERY out of breath but I guess thats just coz LO is growing up and squishing lungs etc?

dinkystinky · 27/01/2009 11:19

LMN - it is worth asking the question about what they expect to happen (as better to be prepared if they are going to end up inducing you etc etc.) Hope you're going to get a lift up to DAU today and all goes ok.

KT1983 · 27/01/2009 11:26

LMN I really feel for you, must be such a pain in the arse. Like everyone else has said. Def worth asking the question. Hope all goes well.

chilledmama · 27/01/2009 11:38

mark.

I'm completely buggered but can't seem to get any real sleep!

TMI alert
At weekend I managed to convince DH that sex was a good idea...not a huge difficulty as he'd been drinking beer and wine Except he decided that was a cue to tweak my nipples to the point that I shouted at him . I now have a bruised nipple and he just thinks its funny!!!!

MrsY · 27/01/2009 11:41

Quick bit of advice, guys -

I was taking 2x 100mg Labetalol twice a day (for BP). Picked up a new bottle yesterday at the DAU and took the dose last night, without realising that they were 200mg. Obviously nothing happened last night, and I took the correct dose this morning, but do you think I ought to call my midwife/DAU? I've got no way of getting to the hospital today if they want me to go in, which is why I'm hesitating, plus I feel fine and I figure if something was going to happen, it would have done, by now...

mumoverseas · 27/01/2009 11:53

like you say, would have thought if something was going to happen it would have by now MrsY but I think I'd at least phone to be on the safe side. Hope all ok x

MamaGoose · 27/01/2009 12:17

MrsY presumably it's already worked its way out of your system if you've already had to take a follow up dose? But being told not to worry by a midwife might put your mind at rest.

mslucyisbeached · 27/01/2009 12:28

CM. ouch at the nipple tweaking story.
I have now banned sex (despite indulging DH until about a week ago) out a terror of its labour inducing qualities.

Plus way too achey in the hips/pelvis to do anything like that.

Just waddled down the road to pick up DS from school, with DH as my minder and experienced shooting pains in the nether regions.

Still tons of fetal movement and nowhere near the agony of contractions, but not exactly a bundle of laughs either.

I am 39 weeks tomorrow so it's not really surprising my body doesn't really work any more!

MamaGoose · 27/01/2009 12:30

I want my body back.

Calico1 · 27/01/2009 12:38

I'm envious of all you on mat leave.....I'm freelance but the project I am trying to finish looks like it is going to drag on for the next couple of weeks at least, so no chance of any nesting time ahead of baby arrival.

McDreamy - my recommendations might be a bit too far away for you as they are more Berkhamsted area but here goes.....

The Old Mill, Berkhamsted - had a lovely dinner here last week on DH's birthday.
Old Mill, Berkhamsted

The Alford Arms, Frithston - fab country gastro pub tucked away in a tiny village in the woods north of Berkhamsted. Pricey but v nice. www.alfordarmsfrithsden.co.uk

or there are a couple of great places in our village.

The Greyhound, Aldbury - posh pub grub in location old building, though not so good for kids.
www.greyhoundaldbury.co.uk

The Valiant Trooper, Aldbury - good family friendly pub for Sunday lunches - outdoor kids play area too if it is fine.
www.valianttrooper.co.uk

I have also had a good sunday lunch at the Akeman in Tring. It can be a bit noisy but they have are quite family friendly.
www.theakeman.co.uk

All are v popular so you'll have to book.

Calico1 · 27/01/2009 12:40

McDreamy - sorry not all links I posted are working but have a Google.....

MarkStretch · 27/01/2009 12:53

I am back.

Saw a consultant who obviously hadn't bothered to read my notes and asked me to come back in a week to repeat my blood tests.

Er, no? A weeks time is my CS date?!

BP was ok though and baby still growing well so they weren't too concerned.

Am going to wallow in fatness on the sofa.

TinkerBellesMumandFiFi2 · 27/01/2009 12:55

I now have a ?real? baby! We went to the registry office to register the birth, wouldn?t have rushed but can?t apply for her benefits until we did. Sîan was difficult again last night and TBD ended up giving her a syringe again as she was messing so much my back wouldn?t let me do anything but lie on it.

MS that?s not that high really (100+ your age/80 is normal, you have about 20 either side on the top and the bottom isn?t normally worried about) sounds like your MW was worrying a little ? unless your BP is unusual, I know Mum would be seriously ill if it was hers as hers is always in her boots.

LMN I type into Word so it doesn?t matter how many pages I read I don?t have to remember anything. You?re far enough on to be delivered, ask them or you?ll never know.

LBB she?s brilliant she?s lovely and friendly but being an only child and having five cousins she holds her own

Dinky I can?t get my head around that one, how did she get to 31 weeks with 8? And if the smallest was over 2lb then she had over a stone of baby, forget placenta, water and extra blood flow!

MOS it?s 7lb 4oz

Ow Chilled! Poor you he?ll get the hint soon enough.

MrsY · 27/01/2009 12:58

Aren't doctors great, MS!

Have a raging headache, and seeing spots, so I'm now crapping myself, and am going to waddle of the DAU - think I might miss it after all this!

catstar · 27/01/2009 13:37

MrsY - hope everything ok? Sounds like you need to get checked out?

thehouseofmirth · 27/01/2009 13:40

MrsY, that really doesn't sound good. If there's no one around to take you, please take a taxi.

Hope all is well.

Cocodrillo · 27/01/2009 14:12

Hope everything is ok, MrsY.
