Right, off to work - 'see' everyone later

lastboxoftampons · 20/01/2009 12:33

Ses I was just having a look on Google and it seems the Britax Vigour (3 or 4 wheel options) new model for 2009 converts into a pram without a carry cot - ie has a lie flat option. Not sure if that's important to you or not, but whenever I see them in the street, I always admire them - and I think I've mentioned I'd like to try to avoid buying as many extra bits as possible - it's not so much a money thing as a space thing! - so the lie flat bit is a bonus, I think.

Hi everyone, sorry been AWOL for a couple of weeks, things have been busy!
Have been reading, but by the time i catch up i've had my 10-20 mins free time and have something else to contend with.

CONGRATULATIONS LG&T and Tink 2 new girlies to the group. Can't wait to hear your birth stories and see some pictures

Ok what else has been happening?

Kay good luck for tomorrow, i'm sure you will be fine and glad you are feeling more confident with BF. Your new pup sounds great. Hope Avon goes well, i did it for a while and managed to spend all my comission on items!

Glask- sorry that you are in pain, but you must speak up for yourself. No one should or has to live in pain. Hope you have a good afternoon with your friend. My e-mail is finally working so will e-mail you with more disney info soon, if i can find your e-mail address!

NJ- Hi, glad you are feeling better, hope DH doesn't pass on his cold. How is Mikey? How are the 3 DS's liking each other?

Ses_ pilates sounds good, wish we had something like that here, i did buy a DVD when first found out i was pregnant however it has never been out of the box

Moos_ good to see you back hope you stay on the TTC wagon is short and sweet.

Astarte- I had serious pregnancy brain for the past week whenever i saw your name, just couldn't for the life of me remember who you were. Wasn't until Moos said that i rememebered. Your little hypnotherapy, DS poo incident made me lol. Hope you pool turns up tomorrow.

Ok going to have to scan back through as my pregnancy brain can only store so much information at once!

2beautifulgalsandasnowglobe · 20/01/2009 13:03

Hi KK- add yourself to the list, can't believe you got to 8 weeks and haven't done so yet!

GYO- sorry for the weird dreams, i have one every few nights and they just feel so real. I would have to agree with everyone else to stay in the hotel, but looks like you DH has already agreed to stay with friend. Hope you have a good weekend and he has a comfy bed.

Diege- Good news on the unofficial maternity leave date, something to look forward to. How long will you have off?

Star- hope your back is better soon. Not long until maternity leave starts for you.

LB- Sorry for the SPD, hope the sexy belt is helping some. I have a babasling in red that i got from TKmaxx for £20.00 obviously haven't used it yet but has tried it on and seems easy enough to use and comfortable. Might be a different story with a baby it in though.

Gruff- you sound like your all set with the items people have given you. i'm either borrowed and bought most things in sale second hand this time!

Hi LBOT- hows you?

Think that is it, i am really sorry if i have missed anyone/ any important news etc.
Now to find the list to update!

2beautifulgalsandasnowglobe · 20/01/2009 13:19

ok think that is all the catching up finally phewwww!

So today i have the whole day to myself. DD1 at school and DD2 started back at nursery just 1.5 days a week. She used to go but took her out probably april time as thought i was starting a new job then she would of been coming with me. However it never happened for several reasons and i just kept her home with me. Then for the past few months she has been asking to go back and see her friends, so i took her last week and she didin't want to leave! So today is her first full day, and i am missing her loads, feels so wrong her not being with me
So i have done..... Nothing but watch cheesy television, its been great
DD1 has swimming after school so will take her and DH will pick DD2 up.
We had our visa interview last week, everything went well, apart from the 5 hour wait, but we were approved. Got our passports with the visas attached back on Saturday Another step closer and getting even more nervous. Got Pickfords round tomorrow to do estimate to ship household items. Been looking at houses/apartments onlie to get a feel for what we can afford and like. WE ARE REALLY DOING THIS......

My nan is back from Australia on Friday after being away for 7 weeks, missed her loads, bet she will have a nice tan!

Bought Hypnobirthing the mongan method from amazon, looking forward to get stuck into that. However after watching some birthing programmmes this morning i am now quite scared of the pain again.

Think i have decided on the reusables i want. Bum genius, anyone had experience of these?
Made a list of what i have left t get for baby/me not too much.

By the way LIDL have body support pillows for £10.00 from next monday, or they do in our local store.

Glask, could you do me a link for the moses basket sheets on Vertbaudet as just can't find them! Also what codes did you use?

Think that is it for the 2BG household for now. Will keep in touch more often, or i hope to

kayzr · 20/01/2009 16:12

Wow 2BG, Where are you moving to in the US? I'm sure you have said and I just can't remember. Make sure you sort out the internet!!!

I still haven't ordered anything from Vertbaudet. I always mean to and then forget!!

kookykid · 20/01/2009 19:03

Wow - you guys have been busy today!

Glask - sorry about the pain... hope you manage to get physio sorted.

I've been having vivid dreams too - last night I dreamt I gave birth to twins, but DD was suddenly 4 months old! Was trying to BF all of them. Weird.

So I have finally added myself to the list. That felt like a really big moment! How silly!

kayzr · 20/01/2009 20:18

Yay Kooky!!!

DS1 has been absolute hell tonight. In and out of bed, screaming until he is as red as a beetroot. I actually thought he was going to be sick when he was screaming. I just had to go and get him and bring him down for a while just so he could calm down. Which was probably the worst thing I could have done. He is now in bed asleep.

Astarte · 20/01/2009 22:34

just a blip Kayz, he'll be back to sleeping tomorrow for sure perhaps he had a bad dream?

Ds2 settled in his bed tonight without one of us having to lie next to him

Well done Kooky!

2BG you sound very organised!!

kayzr · 21/01/2009 07:55

Last night was hell!

DS1 was up loads and loads. At 4 DH suggested getting him some milk but he wouldn't get up and get it. I'd already been up loads with DS2 and just didn't feel like going to get him some milk. So he ended up in our bed just so I could sleep.

What on earth has happened to my wonderful sleeping child?

Astarte · 21/01/2009 08:14

Aw! Kayz sorry for a restless night
Do you think he could be adjusting to Dylan's arrival and the changes around him?
How's the baby doing?

Astarte · 21/01/2009 08:18

My ds2 still wakes up every night at 1am ish and comes in with us Kayz, he's 23 mo.
My other 2 slept through in their own cots/own rooms from 8 & 9 weeks each, so Ds2's sleeping inabilities have come as quite a shock to our system!

kayzr · 21/01/2009 08:21

I don't know if it is adjusting or not. He slept through every night since Dylan has been born except for the last 10 days. DH does not want him in with us at all as he doesn't want him to get used to being in our bed. He won't even let me co-sleep with Dylan so feeding is easier.

Dylan is fine, fast asleep atm. I fed him about 7ish so hopefully it will be this easy all day.

Astarte · 21/01/2009 08:40

Fingers crossed for you x

Wonder if Tink is back home? Has anyone heard how she's doing?

I listened to my Hypno-natal cd last night before going to bed. I felt fab this morning when I woke up, hope it's the cd and not just a bit of luck.
It's pretty good as a form of relaxation, hope the birth prep is just as good
I'd be happy to pass it onto anyone planning on HB'ing afterwards if they'd like it.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 21/01/2009 08:42

Morning

Sorry for bad night Kay... hopefully just a phase with DS1. Good luck feeding DS2 today though

Wow 2BG that was one mega post ! Great news that the plans for the US are progressing well- its really exciting!

Astarte- hope the pool arrives today. So you are having it for 3 weeks before and 2 weeks after the due date?

Really need to get my arse in gear if we are do a HWB... think Im kind of burying my head in the sand about the fact that pregnancy leads to an actual birth at all!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 21/01/2009 08:44

A friend suggested hypnobirthing to me but I havent looked into it.

Is the idea that you play the CD during the birth its self too?

Astarte · 21/01/2009 08:46

did you say something there Gyo?

Pg does not end in birth and a baby, it's a vicious rumour!!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 21/01/2009 08:48

Oh thank god Astarte, was starting to get worried we might actually have to use the piles of baby equipment piling up in the lounge

Astarte · 21/01/2009 08:50

ummmmm, I haven't read the booklet yet , but I think you listen to it in the days/weeks before the birth and it kind of implants a "happy place" you can reach when the birth begins.
Dh knows the trigger phrase from last nights session and what to say to calm me. Course I could well be on my own.

I haven't tried this technique before so it's all a bit new, but after the m/w admitted she didn't expect to get to me in time , I started thinking of ways in which I could try to not panic if this birth is very fast. I panicked last time.

Thought it was worth a shot.

Astarte · 21/01/2009 08:51

No, no Gyo pg leads to obsessive hoarding of useless bits of equipment you will never need!

Actually, that's not too far from the truth

kayzr · 21/01/2009 09:03

Tink is at home, there are pics of Bracken on FB. She is just gorgeous!!!!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 21/01/2009 09:03

ooh sounds good. Love things like that...

I'd be in a slight panic if the MW said that to me too!

Anything is worth a shot!
