Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 21/01/2009 17:30

Sorry Kay- missed your little post there.... i'm glad you've decided one way or another- as long as you're happy it'll show in him!! I'm sure you've made the right choice for you and your DS, and hopefully now there will be no more fretting.

Happynappies- HI!! not seen you about in flipin ages!! how is your pregnancy going?

Astarte · 21/01/2009 17:38

Dh's premaxx sling has just come out of the dryer Glask. He likes it because it looks like a blokes carrier as well.

Tummy bugs have been through this house as well, not nice. Hope you feel better soon.

with hindsight I do think I should've left the pool for Dh to do as I'm now in quite a bit of pelvic pain.

Diege I had to make do with Mini eggs. Can you imagine how fabulous a proper sized creme egg would be?

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 21/01/2009 17:41

When i bid on it, DH said 'i'll probably keep the tomy carrier as i think a sling will look too girly'.... so i just let him assume- though i text saying i'd had DD in it, he thought it sounded ace!! wants a go when he gets in- so i expect he'll love it!!

Astarte · 21/01/2009 17:49

Dh has settled every baby in ours when they were fed, but just couldn't settle on a night for one reason or another. He would stand watching the tv and swing/twist from side to side, often with his hands in his pockets or a cuppa in hand.

I think he felt rather useful

If I was tired after the birth and they wanted to be held he would often pop them in the sling and potter about the house, even in the night bless him.
He even has a hip seat, which we take on holidays for the toddler.
Goodness, he sounds quite good actually.

I bet your Dh loves it and you buy another. You'll have slings and buggies galore

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 21/01/2009 17:59

Well i have 2 brand new prams already for DD2, and now have a tomy safari carrier, and now a premaxx sling, have seen a made to measure ring sling on ebay for £18 inc p&p so hoping that'll be easier for me to feed in round the house.

I'm looking to buy a carrycot bit for my pram so i can see DD2 when she's in her pram, the luna i've bought an only be used facing away without it, so i'm hoping i can get a good priced one, but as there aren't many of my colour about they are hard to get hold of used, and i dont want to pay £65 for one new as it'll only be used a few times if the slings are any good for us!! have seen someone on ebay selling a bundle, and hoping i can get them to sell me the carrycot seperate, if not i may just buy the lot and then sell the pushchair on and keep the carrycot... but dont know if DH will like that idea.

kayzr · 21/01/2009 18:50

Thanks everyone. I have been worried that you are all fed up of my moaning about feeding.

Maybe I should have MN breaks more often. I got loads of housework done.

DS1 has come down with a cold. His nose is running and he is pretty bunged up. Which could explain why he was up so much last night. We have a plug in Sudofed thing so might put it in his room tonight.

GruffaloSoldier · 21/01/2009 19:19

Hi all

Just had a mega catch up to do!

Just quickly who has the initial RL as I need to accept them on FB.

Tink - are you on the wagon group on FB?? Congrats on coming home!

La tour - sorry for your loss. hope you're ok.

Kayz - my elder sis was breast fed for 6 weeks and me for 14 months. She is never ill and has stamina of an ox, I am always ill! You did your best and have got him off to the best start! You should be proud with what you have done!

Hello to everyone else! Im about to have my dinner but just wanted to 'check in'. I have had a tough tiring day today. This is the last day of my second trimester so tomorrow I will be embracing the 3rd - wahoo!

lardybump · 21/01/2009 19:36

Evening all. I have had a huge row with dp this evening and we are not talking.... Wont bore you with the details but I wish he would just fuck off now..............

kookykid · 21/01/2009 19:51

Gruff - RL is me! Hope it's OK to join - dying to see Tink's baby pics! Hurry up and join too Tink!

lardy sorry about DH. Hope you guys sort it out OK.

yay for pool arrival astarte - are you going to leave it up or pack it away!? We had ours up for 5 weeks in our tiny living room as I told DH he had to practice getting it up and it was such an effort he refused to do it again. DD was then nearly 4 weeks late.

glask all your stuff sounds lovely, espially the sling.

kay I think you did really well to BF such a big baby for 6 weeks. Hope DS feels better soon and gives you a better night.

I am feeling really paranoid about my pregnancy today. Just wish I had a massive fast-forward button to get to the relative saftey of 12 weeks. Any advice on how to get through it?!

kayzr · 21/01/2009 19:51

Sorry about the row Lardy. I hope it all blows over soon.

lardybump · 21/01/2009 20:06

He is just such a bloody prick some times I really dont like him very much. He brings my family into every argument and starts slagging them off..... He has just chucked his dinner in the bin.... As if that is going to piss me off, let him starve thats what I say...... I am just eating the last of the quality street.....

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 21/01/2009 20:44

LB - sorry for row. Why do men have to think in such a different way? Actually I'm sure sometimes they don't think at all...

Kooky - I was told that getting to 8 weeks was really good so ur most of the way there. Having said that, I know that if someone had told me that I'd still have worried. The signs are really all looking good for you though.

Kay - hope DS1 feels better soon. As for feeding, I'd echo what the others have said. If I get to 6 weeks, I'll be really proud of myself.

LBOT - have looked at Britax Vigour and may be a good option, thanks.

Diege - sorry to hear about your scan worries. It's worrying enough without your past experience. I've got everything crossed.

Gruff - 3rd trimester???!!

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 21/01/2009 20:48

Btw, had a chat with DH earlier and he told me not to take him seriously! I said we needed to act as a team and to express our appreciation more rather than moans. He then - without prompting - asked about baby's movements. I'm feeling a lot happier

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 21/01/2009 21:07

Realised that Im not identified on FB Wagon group... Im AJ

kayzr · 21/01/2009 21:10

Not got a clue who RL is. I did have a look in my friends but I'm not sure.

GruffaloSoldier · 21/01/2009 21:11

ses - yep - cant quite believe I am 28 weeks tomorrow! glad you sorted things out with dh

GruffaloSoldier · 21/01/2009 21:13

no worries kayz its kooky

kayzr · 21/01/2009 21:21

DUH!!!

I even read Kooky's post!!!!

I am offically dieting. As I have stopped BF I have decided to diet. I am going to count my calories and make sure I don't have more than 1800 a day. I need to stop eating crisps so I will be buying some fruit tomorrow to snack on instead. I'm also getting out my exercise machines. I have 5 stone to lose so I need to get cracking really.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 21/01/2009 21:37

ooh hi Gruff its a horrid night isnt it.

Fortunately in bed now with TV

amsued by your facebook status.... my living room looks like branch of mother care!

GruffaloSoldier · 21/01/2009 21:44

LOL Gyo! Yes, we are just trying to unearth the spare room as my sister and her hubby are coming to stay this weekend. Then I need to unearth the lounge. Loads of stuff in the loft too

I meant to say - I am going to 'bumps and babes' this friday with a friend. I'll let you know how it goes as it might be something you'd like to do when you're on maternity leave? I have Friday mornings off (this Fri off altogther ) so will probably keep going if its any good. Its at the childrens centre in Aldershot. They do loads of mother and baby stuff there.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 21/01/2009 21:47

sounds good Gruff (2 .5wks til leave starts!) looking fwd to hear how it goes

Bed now, soooo tired today.... anyone would think I was 7.5mths preg!

GruffaloSoldier · 21/01/2009 21:52

Ok night Gyo!

kookykid · 21/01/2009 22:00

Gruff - have joined the FB group! Now I've got to try and fit MN names to Real-Life ones. Weird!

Thanks for words of reassurance. Feeling calmer tonight and even slightly fat!

NatalieJane · 22/01/2009 07:35

Morning, just a quick duck in and out, have HV coming today, so am trying to keep house in good shape - failing miserably so far!

Had to tell you all, I think we are getting the first signs of purposeful smiles He is so bloody gorgeous, in fact too bloody gorgeous, when he woke in the night for his feed, I fed him, changed him, put him back down to sleep, got into bed, and then led there staring at him sleeping for an hour and a half, you know when you just can't stop watching them, and not even to check they are breathing or anything?! Of course am now asleep on my feet, that'll teach me hey?! Still, a whole hour and a half to just stare at him without interuption was lovely

Kay sorry for DS1's cold, we have them here as well, DS1 and 2 and DH are all snotted up

Ast, hoorah for pool!

God look at the time, so much for a quick in and out, will catch up properly later, or at some point, probably in ten years time the rate I'm going....

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 22/01/2009 08:15

got a text from my sister at 4.53am saying she thought her waters had just gone, then got a text at 6.09am saying she was on her way to hospital to be checked over- I could be an Aunty today!!!! how exiting!!
