That is my life totally. Would you like to carry on and I'll just stop with all the er....rubbish symptoms.

hkz · 19/01/2009 22:14

Thought I'd have a practice with the tens machine and managed to put it on the highest setting...owwwwwie! Glad I read the instructions and worked out how to use it.

I think there's been a baby every day now for the last 5 days...so when I check back tomorrow morning there better have been some baby action!

Tree and Fym- With DD just went straight into labour... this time around all sorts of ridiculous ouches and niggles... no proper contractions for me yet though...a few hardcore braxtons and general cramps and aches... Hope you two either have a calm and pain free night or go into full on labour and get a break from all the aches and pains. At least it means things are hotting up

dd calls tens 'prickling pads' and did once come in in the dead of night [7am] and turn it up to help mummy.

I was polite but firm......

Got the mother of all tummy ache, poo type tummy ache. This is all wrong!!

fourlittlefeet · 19/01/2009 22:25

PS - on tens machines... I wasn't going to bother and then tree would keep going on about it. It was amazing, didn't take it off until I got the pethadine and it sounds like there are a few who did the whole lot on it! Gas and air was alot like being drunk, and you had to time it so that you kept it at the right level - a bit like doing tequila slammers, too many and you pass out in the toilet, too few and its hard to stay interested in the boss' chat. . will post on my labour thread, but when I overdid the G&A I thought at one point I was snogging the cat in the hat! very funny. Pethandine was also awesome for a little chill when labour was getting too much, and both times far from slowing things down, I think it actually gave me enery for the next level, a bit like collecting little dots in computer games . Right. I'll bugger off now.

treedelivery · 19/01/2009 22:25

So ladies, does this mean after 14 years of telling women it gets easier with the 2nd, it doesn't?

Whoops!

cos getting into labour with dd was WAY easier! Hope we all get a few hours of nigles and intact perineums as the real deal to compensate.

fourlittlefeet · 19/01/2009 22:26

Yes, key to tens is NOT letting anyone else touch the controls. I never got beyond 2!

fourlittlefeet · 19/01/2009 22:26

xposts tree

hkz · 19/01/2009 22:28

FLf- Just looked at your picture of Hugo...he's completely gorgeous and has a very wise and knowing look about him! Congratulations!

Right... Must get off bloody computer and go to bed...now...night.

fourlittlefeet · 19/01/2009 22:30

hkz, just wanted to say if you are going to the homerton - I had a completely fantastic experience there and will be writing to thank them. They were so patient and really held back to help me have my vbac. Couldn't praise them more highly.

fourlittlefeet · 19/01/2009 22:31

its funny; he does look quite old aleady. I found with newborns, if you want pretty shots, you have to get them in black and white and asleep. once they have their eyes open, they all look either like those wrinkly dogs, or little old men. obviously cute dogs and gorgeous old men but...

hkz · 19/01/2009 22:33

FLF..trying for a homebirth, but live a few streets away from Homerton, so it will be my back up. That's really reassuring to know...have heard a lot of positive stories about them recently. Glad you had such a fantastic experience, its great to come away feeling positive
I'm going to Broadway Market acupuncture tomorrow...I'm going to ask for whatever it was you had!

Right, really really am off to bed...closing the laptop.....

hkz · 19/01/2009 22:36

FLF- Think its a lovely shot...all the newborn ones of DD she is all red and puffy and not a pretty sight (apart from to her adoring parents)

...really going this time...

fourlittlefeet · 19/01/2009 22:39

hkz - will you thank Alison for me (I was her thursday 9.30 last week) and tell her I got my vbac? She also offered a sweep as she is a midwife...

BlueSapphire77 · 19/01/2009 23:12

Hurry up and have the baby will ya x x
FLF see you in post natal Hopefully quite a few of us migrating over there in the next couple of weeks yaay

elkiedee · 19/01/2009 23:41

First time round I could wear pre-pregnancy clothes, particularly skirts, very quickly - and in fact I've used lots of non-maternity clothes in both pregnancies although this time it's tended to be one skirt most of the time (and one maternity one). But I have put on more weight than last time round.

oooggs · 20/01/2009 01:02

Best of luck ooogs! Good labour vibes your way

hkz · 20/01/2009 11:27

Just got back from acupuncture and feel all blissed out...Acupunturist also used to be a midwife, so she gave me a sweep and stretch and got to about 3cm and said my cervix was pretty much thinned out and fully effaced...Yay!

There are definitely some rumblings going on down there today.

Right, now taking DD swimming, she was not impressed with aquatots last week and spent the whole session clinging onto me in the water and saying 'Good girl', hoping it will be less traumatic this week.

FLF- I passed on your news to Alison, who was very pleased! She was asking me what your name was and I had to explain I didn't know in RL and I'd been chatting to you on the net..think she thought I was slightly nuts after that!
