Hi from the Dec 08 birth thread!! Loving your title thread - it's my favourite of all the birth threads. Best of luck with all your births. Enjoy those newborn moments.

BlueSapphire77 · 19/01/2009 01:00

Hi

Me too love the thread title.. its similar to something i said on the jan baby thread lol

Baby due to be evicted from big mother house today made his own way out on friday morning instead at 9 40 am and was 8lb 6

Yes, my boobs hurt
Yes it feels like there's a blank space where my bum used to be
But.. did it all on gas and air and with a BRILLIANT birth partner (my DP) who i cannot praise enough he was great!...baby (David Alexander) is worth every twinge, sore nipple and sodding afterpain lol

Congratulations FLF and everyone else who had their babies, lots of love xx Nicki

treedelivery · 19/01/2009 01:01

Congratulations!!! Welcome David Alexander!!

BlueSapphire77 · 19/01/2009 01:18

Thanks tree

He's beautiful .. you popped yet? Didn't get to read the whole thread..he started squawking lol

Oh and JUST to make you all sick and hate me i'm back in pre preg clothes already yaaaaaaaaay

*Hides >> I even managed a half assed victory dance round the bedroom lol

DP thought i was going mental

treedelivery · 19/01/2009 01:21

Morning!

Congratulations Blue! Welcome David! at you wearing non-tent like clothes!

Elkie- Thank you for the offer of the book! I think I am going to have to put my Wood Green trip on hold til this baby is out as can't seem to get myself organised and DD is not a fan of shopping. But I am going to try and get a haircut today so will pop into waterstones in islington and grab myself a copy.

DP in a foul mood today...arghhh...he has a hangover...and for once I am full of beans...Well, its his own fault.

dog - i'd phone your midwife and explain! you need to get it sorted - have you tried all the usual tricks (Jelly beans or sweeties, cold water, orange juice etc?)

in the meantime get the MOT booked and I'd probably drive anyway until you get it done....

OP posts:
fymandwhenisthisbabycoming · 19/01/2009 10:21

I can't drive at the moment I'm so scatty - alternatively can you get a friend to take you to hospital?

EachPeachPearMum · 19/01/2009 10:33

BlueSapphire- Congratulations! and welcome to Baby David!

dog- I second phoning community midwife- heartbeat will be easy to check for her, surely.

kayzr · 19/01/2009 11:04

Just to let you know that Tink is in labour!!

She's at the birthing centre and is 5cm dilated.

missjackson · 19/01/2009 11:42

Dog I'm sure you're on your way by now, but hope you get monitored soon and find out all is well.

Congrats and very envious BlueSapphire, sounds like you had a brilliant experience and can't believe you are back in pre-preg clothes - what a lovely thought!

Thanks for Tink's news Kayzr - am sending you good dilating vibes Tink!

Well, just thought I would share this with you - DH asked one of his friends who is a midwife for the usual advice of bringing on labour - and got this in reply:

Sex...but you need to ensure that there is an orgasm for your Missus as that will stimulate hormones to be released and possibly make the uterus start to contract...plus the relaxin found in human semen is a prostaglandin and should stimulate the cervix to soften...

Reseach has shown that when ingested (orally...just in case that wasn't clear) the relaxin found in human semen works better than used topically (as in directly on the cervix).

fourlittlefeet · 19/01/2009 11:43

ooohh! go tink....how exciting.

Dog - call them and get them to you asap if you are worried, don't hang around. do try the cold water/hot chocolate/cheese route too. also crawling about a bit, anything to get it uncomfortable enough to show some spirit!

fourlittlefeet · 19/01/2009 11:45

blue and all others who have given birth - congrats and come over to post natal...

that bit about a blank space.... am feeling the same. ugghhh.

will write up birth story shortly (have to question dp and not sure I'm ready to go through it all again just yet so may just type out the notes

missjackson · 19/01/2009 12:24

ps - I was just wondering about baby movements myself as it's all been quiet this morning - then had a double espresso with great results! Oh I'm a bad mama...

moosemama · 19/01/2009 12:33

Congratulations Blue.

Good luck Tink.

Sorry not very communicative today folks - nocturnal baby and both boys off sick from school with upset tums! Thank god DH is off work!

Will check back in later if I can stay awake long enough between feeds.

oooggs · 19/01/2009 14:02
