Just posted my enormous birth story on the postnatal thread.

EachPeachPearMum · 29/01/2009 19:43

Buick- sorry to hear that- it's such a hard time, hope you are getting to know your lo, and getting support elsewhere.

FYm and Dog- still here?

Had no contractions at all today, and am totally fed-up now.

LooseyC- can't believe how quickly your baby came!

Buick, still shocked by your news (saw your other thread about it), hope you and yours are holding up.

Not on that scale, but I'm having problems here. I'm being shouted at about everything, last night and this morning - worse this morning as it's in front of ds. Then he wonders why ds shouts at me. I told him last night that he needn't bother taking paternity leave if he's going to be like this. We made up last night but it's just continued this morning. Then he knocked over a cup of coffee, apparently due to a minor seizure (epilepsy) and it's oh I'm so stressed. Presumably that's my fault. He's stressed? What about me?

I hate the fact that he won't deal with trivial things by thinking about them and doing them properly/not doing stupid stuff and just yells at me when I raise it. Most of it's commonsense stuff, can't he just do it?

Excuse the rant.

oh elkie, you must be feeling awful. we usually don't argue, but had constant bickering over everything from about 38 weeks. Looking after a toddler is virtually impossible when that pregnant. its sooo dirrerent the second time round as the boys don't cut you any slack and to top it all THEY expect sympathy. have told DP where to shove his tiredness and stress and aches and pains. if he wants a sympathetic ear he can go to the pub with his mates .

the good thing is that even on no sleep, its all easier not pregnant... just keep that thought in mind. oh, and bake a load of cookies to keep household blood sugar up during and after the birth!

LooseyC · 30/01/2009 13:39

hi,
i had my twins on the 29th december.
Alice at 6lb3oz and Oscar at 5lb 5oz.
had alice naturally and oscar emergency c-section under a general.
it was quite a traumatic labour so i will not scare those who havent had their babies yet.
oscar was under special care for a few days and then he developed pyloric stenosis and had an operation at two weeks. they are both doing well now and its lovely having them both here even though i am very tired.
congratulations to all those who had their babies and good luck to those still waiting

Hi books- have booked a c-section, as tbh, I think even with induction he isn't coming out.
Nothing is happening- 10 days over now
What I don't want to happen is to go through induction, and then end up with an emcs anyway, which was a horrible experience last time- at least with elcs, it is calmer, and we are more in control of what happens.

I cannot believe it has come to this though
At this rate, I'll be the last one to pop on here!

Dog and Fym- how are you keeping?

yes I'm fine no sign of any baby yet.... getting a bit and as I was convinced he would be early - I didn't think second babies were later than 1st babies! Also I know he's a big'un and every day that goes by I'm getting more worried....

[whispers] you do realise that unless one of us has a very quick baby these are going to be Feb babies now - seems very weird having been expecting a Jan baby!

OP posts:
EachPeachPearMum · 31/01/2009 19:36

fym- I'm with you on that- people kept saying to me- Oh, boys always come early

I was expecting a jan baby last time (30th) and she was a feb baby in the end....
well- we have 4 1/2 hours left girls.....

fymandwhenisthisbabycoming · 31/01/2009 20:29

eppm - are you in danger of having the baby on dd's birthday???

fym- nope- I have c-section booked for monday am.... DD's birthday is wednesday. One (extremely minor!) reason to choose elcs over induction.
I specifically asked consultant to avoid 4th (I think he thought I was odd, but what the hell).
Dog- it's important they have their own special day isn't it? Even if they are very close together. (will be 2nd and 4th at this rate)

elkiedee · 31/01/2009 21:38

Well, I don't expect to have a 2.5 hour labour, so I think ds2 will almost certainly be a February baby. I should have known that this would happen again after last time (ds1 due 24 April, induction with gel on eve of 2 May, labour started at 2 am on 3 May, waters manually broken in the morning, baby finally born 4 May in the early hours)

I have a consultant's appointment on Monday so I think it will be a matter of discussing/arguing about when I'll be booked in for induction. I think my starting point will be 9 February (14 days) assuming there's nothing medically wrong, and to be willing to trek across for monitoring if needs be. Next week may be very long....

I have had some weird pains, but they tend to ease off just as I'm getting hopeful that this is it. I don't feel that I really know what to expect (was induced first time round).

Best of luck for Monday EPPM. Did you have any birthday celebration planned for ds1? Hope he doesn't hold it against his little brother too much.

EachPeachPearMum · 31/01/2009 21:55

It's a DD.... and we're doing cake, presents and birthday tea tomorrow!

fymandwhenisthisbabycoming · 31/01/2009 21:57

EPPM - you know that's asking for trouble don't you Places money on EPPM being in labour by the time of the party!

OP posts:
elkiedee · 31/01/2009 21:58

Sorry EPPM, must have misread/mixed things up. Glad to hear your daughter will get her celebration (unless you go into labour tonight, I guess). Hope the celebration is fun.
