Yay MissJackson! Definitely cheer worthy though

Also glad you made it to pool stage Dog - now you just need PIL and you are all set!

LenniEd · 26/01/2009 18:59

Elkie - DS head wasn't engaged even when I was in labour - it didn't properly engage until about 2 hours before he was born.

missjackson · 26/01/2009 19:40

Thanks for car-seat reassurance ladies!

Glad to hear other experienced people have found your situation difficult too Heron and MissS- I can't even get my head around coping with one baby, let alone two. You deserve lots of tlc, so make sure you get it - I know you shouldn't have to ask, but sometimes people around you need it spelling out.

Lots of 'bloody show' since my quad bike ride this afternoon (it's only really a gentle scoot up the lane and back but just feels relaxing for some weird reason; something to do with the vibrations maybe?!) and LOTs of twinges, possibly tightenings, but maybe my imagination is running riot...

Anyway, am settling down in front of a log fire to watch 'Out of Africa' which is my favourite film - I figure I may not get a chance for a long time!

Have x-posted this as am still flirting between the two threads!

xx

Oooh, good luck ladies! Lets hope this really is it for both of you. Sending nice easy labour vibes to you both

LooseyC · 26/01/2009 21:19

Quad bike MissJ? Is this the super mum thread that I have accidently got myself on?! .

Well, had a stretch and sweep this afternoon. DS got absolutely hysterical poor thing, goodness knows what he thought was going on - had to give him cuddle all the way through! Actually nice for me to have someone to cuddle though as it was blooming painful! I can't remember it being so bad last time round, but maybe it's part of our convienent forgetfulness about this sort of thing.

Had lots of period-pain type feelings since then but not too bad or regular so don't know if it's the start of something or not - but here's hoping! Otherwise induction is booked for the 5th Feb. It has to be before then surely?!

Good luck to MissJ and gtdahb - and any others feeling they are on the way tonight...

Seems odd to to saying sorry the pains have lessend gtdahb! Sleep is obviously a good thing though, so bring it on.

Think I will try and get mw to come when ds is asleep next time (bet there will be a next time) to spare him the trauma. Thankfully he is being an angel and sleeping 2 hours in the afternoon so I can get some rest too. I will miss those naps soon I'm sure!

EachPeachPearMum · 26/01/2009 23:28

Oh- I am still here- just had not a great weekend, and spent most of today sleeping

missjackson · 27/01/2009 12:03

Hi dog, eachpeach and fym - I am still in the same boat (ie, pregnant) after a strange night of lots of show, but have posted on the other thread - was going to copy it over here but managed to lose it somehow... doh.

I am 11 days overdue!!!

nappyaddict · 27/01/2009 12:08

LooseyC it is your duty to say which ones haven't worked so the others don't bother trying them

I'm full of moans at the moment! In today with reduced movement, but all is ok....mind you it took cold water a mars bar and a cup of tea to get him moving...

the monitor picked up my 'tightenings' so I know it's not my imagination!

Cervix is sore, period like pains caused by said tightenings, swollen ankles...

Just cleaned the table the kitchen door and the table legs and then couldn't get up again afterwards I'm not nesting at all am I

Still nothing here.... it's so boring waiting around....

elkiedee · 27/01/2009 20:42

I know the feeling EPPM.

On the bright side our new garden shed is up and ready, and I read more than I've read all month today - I normally read a lot although not as much as before ds was born, but I think I've read less than even the month he was born in in the last couple of months.

Labour vibes to everyone still waiting, especially those of us who are overdue.

treedelivery · 27/01/2009 23:33

Hello all you pregnant people!

Trying to catch up but milky mush brain won't let me so will have to feel my way back into the thread!

AN EPIC posting on the postnatal thread [a strange land of boobs and burps and baby bottoms] of my short labour - thank your stars I didn't have a long one!! Was in and delivered in 4 hours.....next it could be you!
Waving labour pom poms and sprinkling contraction dust freely......

treedelivery · 28/01/2009 00:37

....and may I politely request that all futher birth stories be longer than mine as I look a right numpty and leading contender for 'too long a posting' award.

Have tried to catch up and I think Books has been sectioned today?

Read your posting Books and sorry for you about the section. But By now huge conratulations are in order, and the fun begins!

fymandwhenisthisbabycoming · 28/01/2009 10:36

Well done tree - congratulations, sounds a great story!

afternoon

elkiedee · 28/01/2009 14:28

afernoon all, still waiting here...

fymandwhenisthisbabycoming · 28/01/2009 15:01

ok chaps I think we need an all out assault on our respective cervixes (spelling?)

I suggest ALL of the following

Bedtime activity and nipple stim
Raspberry leaf tea (at least 2 cups)
a good walk
a sniff of clary sage (if you have it)
copious amounts of fresh pineapple (I am advised it is the core, juiced, that is the crucial bit)
bounce on a birth ball
hot curry

Any more suggestions??? Only got as far as the tea so far today
