Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
lambskinmmm · 05/01/2009 22:32

I'm due on 15th Jan yes. Just had my first full day in the house. surreal.. not something I do well - to stay still.

I'm hoping that it won't be long now. Poor DH needs to come back from the spare room soon too (blush).

Kay - I'm near Aberdeen.

Anyone got good 'opening' exercises? someone tried to describe one which involved "cleaning" the first 3 stairs with your bum, but I didn't really get it.

Also completely undecided on names and starting to feel a bit against the clock!

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 05/01/2009 22:33

Thought that'd be the case with legs. Cramps usually in the night and wake me up. Tried 2 bananas one evening last week and didn't make any difference but just had one tonight and am going to put pillow under feet tonight and still wearing flight socks! (Will take them off in the morning!)

Diege - good luck for tomorrow. Hope it goes ok and you can take it fairly easy.

lambskinmmm · 05/01/2009 22:34

ses - my leg cramps stopped at about 7 months. they say a banana and milk before bed (pottasium) is really helpful. good luck.

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 05/01/2009 22:37

Wow - mega xpost with Star and Lamb!

Haven't tried drinking much milk so will give that a go tomorrow. Thanks!

lambskinmmm · 05/01/2009 22:37

what a dope... just ignore my last post i only read your first one!!!

light at the end of the tunnel is that when they go, you get your first nights sleep in ages... until something else starts bugging!

right i'm off to my bed with only the company of my dab radio!

kayzr · 06/01/2009 06:07

Morning,

Lamb, I am also a dope. I completely ignored the "I'm in Scotland" part of your first post and thought you were in NE England. Very jealous though, I'd love to live in Scotland.

I had an awful night with DS2. We went to bed at half 9 as DH is at work this morning. But DS2 would not go to sleep. He would feed, fall asleep, wake up screaming, be winded, be fed, fall asleep, wake up screaming and so on. He eventually fell asleep about 12 in our bed. Which is a little bit annoying as the past few nights he has stayed in his moses basket. He then woke up at 4 and it started all over again so I got up at 5 with DH. I did plan to try to get some sleep on the sofa but DS1 decided to get up with us.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 06/01/2009 08:12

Morning all

Welcome Lamb- great to get newbies on the "wagon". There is a list somewhere will dig it out for you to add your details

Glask- sorry about the BHs- sounds really sore.... hope the MW can offer some re-assurance

2BG- hurray for a good scan and having a surprise! Must have been weird knwoing that the sonographer knew!

Kay- sounds like a tough night... and sorry to hear that your DH's work are being arses about his pat leave. Hope he gets it sorted out today, not fair when you were expecting to have him at home.

Hi Ses! sounds like things are busy for you. Flightsocks sound like a great idea to counteract the cramps...

Hi Everyone else, Diege, Tink, Star, Gruff and Nat and Sorky if you are lurking.

Another cold day here brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Argh- i'm tired!!!! Yet another wierd night, between Bh's and restful dreams i feel worse than i did when i went to bed.

Have MW at 1.45pm today, my sister is coming to sit with the kids for me so i dont have to drag both of them along to the doctors with me!!i got up and realised that the jeans (my fave pair of maternity trousers) i want to wear had been washed last night, so i'm sat half dressed with my dressing gown over... they should be dry soon as i threw them in the dryer. Good job Dh is here this morning to take DS to nursery as i'd have been gutted to have to wear somethign else to leave the house in (dont know why- i'm very odd once i have my days clothes planned!!)

Anyway i'll probs not be about much this morning, DH is being a llowed a bit of Xbox time before he goes to work so will want the screen when he gets home from the nursery run. I only really came on to check my ebay!!

be back later with news from my MW!!

Glask - sorry you had another bad night. Hope all goes well with midwife. I had a frustrated moment last night with clothes too when I get home from work. I've hardly bought any maternity clothes yet as I've got a friend that's lent me some and another friend lending me some more next week. Just makes things a bit limited and I realised I didn't have any clean casual trousers that fitted me last night! Anyway, looking forward to seeing my friend on Sunday evening and gaining a wider choice!

LB - exciting getting things down from the loft

Kay - sorry for your bad night too. I hope DH gets a decnet response at work today.

I had a slightly better night - just got woken up once with v mild cramp in one leg. Will buy more bananas today and stick with flight socks for a few nights I think!

Thinking of you today Diege

lastboxoftampons · 06/01/2009 11:07

Hello everyone:

Couldn't possibly fully catch up, but wanted to say hi!

Congratulations on a lovely scan 2BG - and well done for not finding out. I really would like it to be a surprise, but DH wants to know and I think I'm going to cave in. It would mean that my mom can bring us lovely summer clothes from the states when she comes over when the baby is born. for some reason I think summer clothes are more gender specific than winter ones...

Ses So sorry about the leg cramps not sure what to suggest other than the bananas. Maybe make sure you stretch out your calves really well before getting in to bed? Used to get leg cramps after especially intensive ballet classes and stretching seemed to help.

Kay hope your DH has been able to sort out his pat leave. That would make me so

Welcome Lamb

We've got our 12-week scan on Friday and I'm so nervous. Keep flip flopping between It's all gone wrong and Everything will be alright.

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 06/01/2009 11:19

Hello LBOT! I can uderstand your nerves for Friday but I'm sure everything will be fine and you'll see your lovely little bean.

Thanks for the stretching suggestion. Will give that a go and also Lamb's milk idea.

Right I must get going as I'm heading off to Eastbourne to do a store visit this afternoon!

Hello,

I went out this morning with both boys and it wasn't as bad as I thought. I might need to buy a decent backpack to put the shopping in though as I found it a bit hard to push the pushchair and carry the shopping.

I am having my hair cut tomorrow, I went and made an appointment so there is no backing out now. I am really excited but not 100% on what I want doing yet.

HV coming this afternoon to weigh DS2, hopefully he will have put on weight.

lambskinmmm · 06/01/2009 12:35

Nappies - anybody here used a community nappy project? i've been given a bag of nappies and want to trial the local service on offer when the time comes. Just wondered what people's experience was.

LaTourEiffel · 06/01/2009 12:55

Hi everyone, I'm finally properly back after the christmas break. AF is just tiptoeing out the back door, its been another longish one this month. Soon we should be able to start ttc grin yay!!!!

Had bad news about my nan last night, looks like she's not going to hold on for much longer, the macmillan nurse told mum she should be looking at days and weeks, not months now sad so going to be going home again this weekend to spend as much time with my nan, grandad and parents as possible. Its just so hard... I read some posts on the bereavement board and found that really helpful.

(all copied from the ttc board in case anyone still reads both , to tired too think of writing it out twice in a different way )

I've been keeping up to date but have a memory like a sieve these days, I think that's what comes from being a full time WOHM with an increasingly energetic and talkative toddler . DS' language has come on loads over Christmas and chatters very well now, he's not very confident and tends to only talk 'real' words, not much babble like his little friends, but his vocab is huge now. He's also developed this charming habit of clapping his hands when he wants my attention! All very cute really.

Anyway, best scoot as only popped on in my lunch hour, will try to get on again later if anyone is around.

Hi all, just to let you know that Henry and Hugo were born early on the 23rd December. They were 33+6. I went in to labour on the 19th and the docs managed to stop it with drugs long enough to give me steroid injections for the boys lungs.Henry weighed 4lb 11oz and Hugo was 5lb 2oz. They spent 12 days in Special care and came home on Sunday. They are doing eally well and I'm so proud of them.

kayzr · 06/01/2009 13:32
