ooh kay, meant to ask, how long will you wait before going for DC3?

Very exciting. I'd love to have loads but not sure I could keep doing pregnancy!

kayzr · 12/01/2009 16:42

Until DS2 is 2, so 2 years yet. I would really like for DC3 to be born between June and September as DS1 is March and DS2 is December. So we might start trying in October 2010!!!

God that sounds ages away. You all have to make sure I do not go back to the ttc wagon until Oct 2010!!!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 12/01/2009 16:43

LOL- 2010 does seem ages away but really isnt! Think once all the wagon babies are here we can have the post-natal/ Wagon thread to keep us all on the straight and narrow!

kayzr · 12/01/2009 16:51

Yeah we will need too. I really want 4 but I don't know if DH will let me. I have promised that if DC3 is a girl then we will not be having anymore at all.

lastboxoftampons · 12/01/2009 17:24

OMG, you're already talking about your next! Slow down for us who have just waded into pregnancy #!

I'm interested to hear how you all like the Bee - I think it's probably the perfect pram for all our needs (ie, super lightweight, can be used from birth without separate attachments and can take a carseat directly onto chassis) but I've heard mixed things about it - ie, it's not very stable and doesn't seat a toddler very comfortably. Would love to hear your opinions (I know, I know I'm getting ahead of myself!) GYO LOL at the yellow ones attracting insects in the summer!!!

Diege I'm not sure I could find out without DH knowing. But it's our first, not our fourth - maybe I'd feel differently later on. I didn't realize the chances of having the same sex went up the more you had!

Kay Please don't feel that you've failed DS - you're doing the best for him by admitting that exclusive BFing is not working and trying something else! {{{sneaky hug for you}}}

I have a question for you all - I have a midwife's appointment a week from today. After that, how often am I likely to have to see the midwife?

kayzr · 12/01/2009 17:42

Thanks LBOT.

I think I saw the MW with DS1 every 4 weeks until I was about 28 weeks then it was every 2 weeks until 37 weeks then it is every week.

It might be different where you are though.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 12/01/2009 17:54

Cosmo- just to reassure you, I was sick even the day after i had DS (DC1) but with DD i didn't even feel sick once... So this pregnancy was a gamble on the sickness, i've suffered, still wake up feeling sick a few days a week, but have luckily managed to learn tricks to subdue it now. So dont let the sickness put you off so much. PLUS there is something amazing inside you when you already have DC(s) that makes you cope 10x better than when its your first pregnancy!! I'd just reccomend waiting a few years till you thought about any more. DD was a 'surprise' for us, and would never have been planned after such a bad pregnancy with DS only 8mths earlier (fell pg when DS was only 7mths)

Diege- i'm hoping i have it covered with 2 shops that stock everything, and a backup stockists.

Nat- with DD i never bought a bottle or formula, and wasn't intending to this time either, you've made me re-consider...

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 12/01/2009 18:02

Hi LBOT

I think I saw MW at 6 (v early booking in), 10, 17 (late as I was away for 14 to 17) 22, 25, 28 and Im going again at 31 tomorrow.

I was also wondering if my appointments will go fornightly soon...

Interesting about the Bee and issues for older kids. I'd read this too and nearly made me change my mind but decided that even if it lasts for 1.5yrs its what we need for now. Re size etc as I have tiny car and I like it!

We may change it for something like Zapp later on. The bees are going for great prices second hand on ebay- seen some going for 240pounds!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 12/01/2009 18:12

Ses- this probably why your dress didnt show up....

sorry if its old news...I've not read all our posts recently

here

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 12/01/2009 18:14

GYo- i dont rate the zapp personally... it was so lightweight and oddly designed that you can't put anything on the back handles exept a loaf of bread or it'll tip up (yes mine did do on a couple of occasions) even the baskets you can buy are so tiny you couldn't even fit bread and milk in it from an emergency shop... and it wasn't at all practical for putting a baby bag over!! mine used to tip up with my baby bag on it so i had to carry all my things in a different bag in the basket underneath, which meant i couldn't get any shopping... its so difficult to carry shopping and push a buggy at the same time!! i reccomend something more like a high-end stroller style instead of a zapp. However nice the zapp looks it is not practical for anything more than school runs when you'd not need anything!!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 12/01/2009 18:14

or was it from somewhere else and you wore a BM dress... sorry, my memory is dire!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 12/01/2009 18:18

oh dear- no-one knows if verbaudet are going bust soon do they?? i've got loads of stuff 'on its way' and another big order to place on friday..... soon we wont have any shops to buy stuff from!!!! I can't believe Naxt and Debenhams are having troubles..... what will i do without next??!!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 12/01/2009 18:21

Thanks for the advice on Zapps Glask fortunately its a long way off so can worry then. Only thought of zap as it fits in my car boot apaprently. Im sure there will be newer stuff out in 2yrs or so

Sad about BM isnt it. Shame I cant get to my local store til the weekend, would love some bargains in the clothing department!

No idea about verbaudet im afraid!

kayzr · 12/01/2009 18:24

I am really upset about BM, I love that shop.

I think I am going to complain about the MW who made us give DS2 formula top ups.

tinkhaslessthanaweek · 12/01/2009 18:28

oh my god (in chandlers old girlfriend style) not vertbaudet i have 2 items left in transit to get here. think glas that we will make them bust lol

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 12/01/2009 18:31

Ahhah there you are Tink- you need to get going on the labour if Im going to win the syndicate...

Might repost a new guess if you dont deliver by tomorrow morning

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 12/01/2009 18:31

do you feel that made a difference Kay- sorry i mentioned that BWT- just in my head that would to me make me think thats where he started, becasue wasn't he starting to feed better just then too, and then becasue he'd not put 'enough' weight on by her standards she made you give him it?? I personally would complain about her. She shouldn't have made you feel that way!!

kayzr · 12/01/2009 18:35

I do think it made a difference. We never had any latch problems until she made us give him bottles. I do think if she had just given him some time he would have put the weight back on and he would be excl BF. I mean I managed to excl BF him for about 5 days, how crap is that?

tinkhaslessthanaweek · 12/01/2009 18:36

will start bouncing on ball then gyo or i could have a quick one as in labour

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 12/01/2009 18:37

Right off to clean up kitchen- we've had evidence of a mouse in the house (well in one cupboard under the stairs) so paranoid about crumbs in kitchen now.

DH is out buying traps...

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 12/01/2009 18:39

LOL got visions of Tink bouncing all night on the ball !

back laters

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 12/01/2009 18:42

I remember you said that he'd started feeding better... I would have thought that giving him a few days on good BM would have got his weight back up... he hadn't even lost the full 10% of his birth weight had he?? I remember saying to DH 'kays DS is feeding better now, she can stop worrying'... then next day you text saying she'd made you put him on bottles for top-ups. I was devestated for you!! I ahve heard so many stories of babies loosing their good latch after being given a bottle for top-ups. And i honestly think this is what has happened with you and your DS- you've done so well to have gotten so far with that horrible MW doing that so early!!

kayzr · 12/01/2009 18:43

Thanks Glask, I just need to stop feeling so crappy about it now.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 12/01/2009 18:45

tink- i demand you have a mid-morning GOF so that you go into labour and have DD2 in the late hrs tomorrow .... i'll be p[estering you to go and pounce on your Dh come 11am!! .... Kay got the end of me demanding she have a GOF!! Plus i have your number!!! [devious grin] so can bombard you till you do it!!

kayzr · 12/01/2009 18:46

LOL,

Glask, just hope Tink's DH is reading over her shoulder. I'm sure he will agree with you!!!
