Been up since 4.30. Ds is a little so and so. He went back to sleep pretty much immediately, but I mentally packed stuff until I got up and started physically packing. Off to work in a bit. I can't believe we're moving tomorrow. 20 weeks pregnant, 5 days before Christmas.

I'm very jealous of all those who have finished for Christmas now. This next week will be our busiest and I'm working boxing day so just one day off

bantam73 · 19/12/2008 09:06

Morning everyone

I can't beleive you early birds, I can't get out of bed before 7:30 but I don't get home from work till 11pm on a thursday & friday.

Our scan went well yesterday but baby bump wouldn't stay still so it took a while for the measurements to be taken. When DD2 came in to see it was waving at her, thats what she said. All they warned us was that we have a very active baby bump which is abit scarry cos DD2 was quite in the womb but now hypo-active and takes omega 3 to 'help' keep her calm.

FiKelly · 19/12/2008 09:43

bantam maybe you get the opposite of what lo does inside.. ds was same at 20wk scan last time. scan took ages as they had to chase him around to see his other leg as just as they spotted it he suddenly moved! since arriving he's always been quite chilled out with bursts of energy and not quite as full on as some of our friends 2yr old boys.. they're all telling me i won't be so lucky 2nd time and this one will be a horror!

good morning early birds!
DH got in last night (& woke me up with all his banging around downstairs!) at 1:50am... I got back to sleep and woke at 6:25 - he'd fallen asleep on the sofa! So I didn't have to put up with his boozey breath at all!!! he got up and came to bed - and was snoring in 5 minutes! Why are men so noisy? DH can't even blow his nose quietly!! Sounds like a fog horn!

Oh I've my first employee starting this morning properly - he's done some 'as and when' for me. He'll be holding the fort while we're away on our Xmas hols to Bulgaria tomorrow!!! I just hope I remember to tell him everything!

Away to get some work done. Might get chance to pop in later on , but if not have a wonderful exciting Christmas everyone. Big Hugs all round!!! Cheers!!! XXX

JosieC · 19/12/2008 10:33

DandyLioness I'm the same with sleep - as soon as I hit 13 weeks I suddenly felt great, energetic and definitely don't need to sleep as much - in fact I'm pretty hyper until about 1am! But I think it's the beginning of the end of my energy burst - husband had to help me up from the sofa yesterday - think my body hasn't quite worked out how to move properly with the extra bulk on the front!

llareggub · 19/12/2008 13:52

Oooh, I had my energy return at 12 weeks only for it to promptly disappear again at 12 and a half weeks!

pulapula · 19/12/2008 14:12

I found myself awake at 4.30 this morning, and took probably an hour to fall back asleep- anyone else having itchy skin (it was my shins)? Also getting a bit of restless leg syndrome already. For anyone who is new to this pregnancy lark this is a really annoying thing that stops you falling asleep when you are really tired, as your legs just can't relax/stop fidgeting !

llareggub · 19/12/2008 14:39

Itchy skin is quite common at this stage, I've been told. I've got very itchy, dry skin, it's very annoying.

hi all.
for those not yet feeling movement: don't worry, I've only just - at 21 weeks - started feeling slight bay movement. not flutters, more like bubbles, I guess. This is 3rd baby, too, so expected to feel movement sooner but I guess everyone's different.

I'm also going to be 40 a little after baby3 is born and thinking this will be the last. But I warn you: never say never as, with PND after dd2 and birth experience, I said 'never again'... and look at me now!

it's dd1s 3rd birthday today. we've been to a christmas party, dh took day off work. we had two little fairies at the party, so sweet! i'm not a girly person but it does make me feel happy when i see my 2 little girls dressed up in fairy dresses and wings. heart melts. although I'd like a boy next, if we have another girl, that's another fairy to love.

off to give dd1 her birthday gifts and eat choc cake!

Momino · 19/12/2008 14:57

Cote, so glad for the great scan results and congrats on having a boy!

Momino · 19/12/2008 14:57

Cote, so glad for the great scan results and congrats on having a boy!

llareggub · 19/12/2008 14:57

Yay, congratulations! Boys are fab, boisterous but fun. My little man is currently fast asleep after a morning playing with his little friends. They've totally demolished our living space downstairs, and I'm currently surveying the mess from the comfort of my sofa. Am very reluctant to move!

I have my 20 week scan on NYE. Still can't decide whether to find out the sex or not. We probably will, although my friends have spent the morning trying to convince me otherwise.

runningmonkey · 19/12/2008 15:54

Hi All,

Thanks for the kind thoughts everyone, a v sad couple of days and I think Christmas is going to be v hard as the funeral won't be until Jan sometime. Sorry, don't mean to bring the mood down.

Great news Cote brilliant.

Re restless legs - I've had it pretty badly the last few days too but then again I sometimes get it anyway - usually around time of the month. A friend recommended yoga relaxation techniques: some deep slow breathing and try to imagine all your muscles relaxing from the tips of your toes upwards, takes a bit of time but has helped me, also helps with getting off to sleep if your mind is racing like mine sometimes does.

Just finished work today for the Christmas hols, was a brilliant morning singing Christmas songs with the kids and playing christmas pictionary. The highlight was three of my year 11 boys dancing around the room and singing along to Wham's Last Christmas

Hope everyone is well, am not sure I will get on much in the next week or so as going to do the usual round the country family visiting trip so have a lovely christmas everyone, and look forward to catching up with all the news when I get back.

Cote that's fantastic news. Now you can relax and enjoy Christmas. And more importantly, enjoy your pregnancy!

I finished work today. Am going to spend the weekend with my parents as DH is laying an oak floor in our living room and hall and I can't cope with the chaos. Should be a nice weekend though - we're taking DD to CBeebies Live. I think she might burst when she sees Mr Tumble in the flesh!

Rubysmom08 · 19/12/2008 20:11

hi ladies

Sorry no personals, have had a terrible week and wanted to moan instead
Ruby is teething and during a massive tantrum she kicked me in my tummy, I cramped for about 12 hrs and then started bleeding, I rang my midwife and they suggested I go straight to a&e but the bleeding stopped and if I'm honest I have been too frightened to do anything other than rest. I kno0w they can't stop th ings happening so I am just waiting. I can still feel the LO kicking.

I know someone else had this happen but can't remember who- was it Fikelly?

Anyway hope everyone is OK xxx

llareggub · 19/12/2008 20:25

I am sorry, you must be very worried. Feeling movement sounds good, but I would probably take the advice of the midwife and pop along to A and E for a check up. Is there anyway you could get there easily without too much bother?
