wuhoo Kay- you'll just love the experience of the HB!! I would never want a hospital birth unless it was absolutly needed after my HB with DD!! i'm getting so exited for my labour with this one already!!

kayzisexpecting · 04/12/2008 12:36

Why do I need a scan?

Oh yeah my other Mothercrap order arrived today, only 7 days late!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 04/12/2008 12:40

i wouldn't know why you'd need a scan.... maybe to check the position of the placenta, or maybe check baby is head down (even thoguht that can still change really....)

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 04/12/2008 12:44

Hurray for home birth Kay

Sorky- mines at 11.20- we can compare notes after

kayzisexpecting · 04/12/2008 12:48

He is head down as she had a really good feel about and he is head down and his back is against my stomach.

sorkycake · 04/12/2008 12:53

Ahhh, see Kay, it's all coming together for you now! Chuffed for you

Oh, the scan is to check placental position and baby presentation and to see if the placenta is still working okay etc.

For both my hb's I had a scan with a Consultant at 37 weeks. Not much chance of baby changing position from 37 weeks really.

It's a nice scan to have actually, you often get to see the face fully. They might give an estimated weight as well, but it's not an exact science as we all know.

Thanks Gyo! Thats great that you have an appointment!

I am just gearing up for a little walk into town. Going to go to mothercare, boots and marks and spencers outlet and look at girly clothes. I might just make a couple of purchases

kayzisexpecting · 04/12/2008 12:55

I could get them to double check he is really a 'he', I do dream at least twice a week that he is actually a girl.

GruffaloSoldier · 04/12/2008 12:55

oops I forgot to refresh!

thats great bout HB Kay!

sorkycake · 04/12/2008 13:01

We were shocked at how huge ds1's bits were!

When we were expecting him they didn't tell you the sex at the 20wk scans. So at 37 weeks when the Cons asked if we wanted to know what the sex was we said yes, she moved the thingy up and because he was posterior lie at the time, there he was in all his glory.

His balls were huge! It's quite shocking to see them there right in yer face so to speak

kayzisexpecting · 04/12/2008 13:09

LOL, I am actually hoping he'll stay put until I get the scan as I like having scans. But at the same time I would like him to come so I can see him properly.

sorkycake · 04/12/2008 13:19

have you had any thoughts on the dog?

I'm sticking to the 15th for you btw. Ooh, you could try the Caullophyllum then couldn't you?

It's available from Neal's Yard.

Cosmo, have replied on your buggy thread

kayzisexpecting · 04/12/2008 13:33

I really really want him. He is gorgeous and just what we want but we're not sure because he could have behaviour(sp) problems that they might not tell us about.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 04/12/2008 14:09

ooo, what happen there

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 04/12/2008 15:01

Well done for getting it sorted ASAP Kay PITA about not being able to get a GP/nurse appt. though, how is the dizzyness now?

Tink - two wispas woman after my own heart!

Well I feel farking horrible, had a sleep while DS2 was asleep, woke myself up not being able to breathe - literally, had to sit up quickly to get a breath, have never done that before scared the life out of me - nearly literally! Strangly although I feel like I have a cold, my nose isn't even slightly blocked up or anything, it's all in my throat it is closing in with the swelling, and the swelling that I have everywhere isn't helping one bit.

Am moaning, am going to stop, on a brighter note, think things are gearing up quite a bit here, have had a bit more show (though not bloody) and I think I lost more water while I was asleep, slightly (and I do mean VERY slightly) pink stained, pressure has eased since this morning though and contractions have been oddly quiet since yesterday's show, so am not expecting anything to happen soon, just nice to know it's headed in the right direction.

kayzisexpecting · 04/12/2008 16:21

Dizzyness isn't so bad now. Just a little bit now and again. Having a bit of pain in my ear so it's going to probably be an ear infection. I've had a pain in my ear most of the week and I have tried to get an appointment but there aren't any.

DS has a little rash under his nose, which looks like his excema. Can't even get him an appointment. So we're going to put some of his cream on it, just have visions of him licking it off.

I reckon you are going to have your baby before I have mine Nat.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 04/12/2008 16:37

It is a nightmare at the moment trying to get appt., everyone has some sort of bug or illness or something going on it seems. Even yesterday when I rang for DS1's appt. bearing in mind I rang at 8.30 on the dot which is when they tell you to ring, they only had two left for the whole day, and that was on a late night as well.

Hope DS's rash clears up, is it bothering him?

As for when this one is coming, I spent the last 7 weeks of DS2's pregnancy convinced he was going to come any minute, and he stayed in till the bitter end. At least this time I'm not convinced he is going to come every minute of every day! In fact am still actively hoping he stays put, it's still on the early side and with this bloody bug I've got I don't much fancy giving birth TBH!

kayzisexpecting · 04/12/2008 16:45

Our doctors could do with opening until late one day a week. I'll ring at half 8 and I probably still won't get in. Plus I can only do the morning as the MW is coming in the afternoon.

I don't think DS has even noticed he has a rash. He knows about the ones behind his knees as he helps to rub in his cream.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 04/12/2008 16:52

Oh bless him, at least if it's not bothering him it won't do any harm for him to wait till tomorrow.

Oh LG&T if you're about I need your help, have got some Caulophyllum stuff, it is like tiny little balls, it says to take 1 or 2, 3 times a day, is that the same to get labour going? Obviously am not going to do it now, am thinking if they won't induce me.

tinkisahugexmaspudding · 04/12/2008 17:41
