Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 02/12/2008 14:04

Did have dream it was a boy though. We'd had another scan for some reason (not 4d) and pictures were clear and there was defiantely an appendage visible....

kayzisexpecting · 02/12/2008 14:46

I wanted a 4d scan but DH thinks they are really scary as they are just so clear.

I haven't really had a nap, couldn't get comfy or to sleep.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 02/12/2008 15:50

I love the idea of 3/4D scans, but not sure I could actually do it normal 2D scans freak me out enough!

No news from Gruff yet?

Have decided the next thing on the 'to do list' is finding a name for this baby. I have seen some things I want to buy, but they can be personalised so I need names! Do I dare start a name thread?

kayzisexpecting · 02/12/2008 16:00

I am going to rant now so ignore if you feel like it.

I am fed up of feeling like a baby making machine. No one(doesn't include you lot)

Best friend texts "Have you had the baby yet?" my reply "nope not yet. How are you?" No reply
Same sort of thing from all my friends.
Mum texts me "Don't have the baby today, the snow is bad"
Dad rings "No sign of my grandson yet"
Old biddy woman1 in shop "Haven't you had it yet"
Old biddy woman 2 "You need to put you hands on top of your bump and push the baby down"

Only DH and DS talk to me about anything other than this baby. So once DH goes to work the conversation is either texting someone about the fact I still haven't had the baby or about Roary the racing car.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 02/12/2008 16:13

Sorry but PMSL at putting hands on top of bump, bet it worked for her...

Ignore all texts, you don't have to reply, tell them you will let them know if/when anything happens and that you are trying to get as much sleep as possible so your phone is on silent a lot of the time. Not much you can do about people on the street, just be thankful that at any point you can be as rude as you like and walk away from them, you don't have to engage in conversation with them.

kayzisexpecting · 02/12/2008 16:15

I know, I can't see it working somehow. If it was that easy I would have done it a couple of days ago.

reban · 02/12/2008 16:20

oh my god i cannot keep up with these threads!
Just a quick wave hello and i will endeavour to catch up over the next few days but am spending every free moment cleaning, sorting or wrapping presents. Just a word of advice for those who are expecting their firsts, make the most of only having to organise your life around one! I never thought my life could get anymore hectic then it has been with three but if the past week of preparation is anything to go by its about to go up another notch!!!
Anyway i will read back but congrats to chutney on your new LO and anyone else who may have popped scince last week!

Take care xxx

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 02/12/2008 16:28

chutney???? have you got the wrong thread reban??

Still no news from gruff?? I dont wanna be hanging around till 7.30 getting more and more impatient by the minute!!!!......

i've not had a nap at all, i first started cleaning the kitchen, then started on the dining room, then re-blitzed the living room as DC's have messed it all up since last night... hoovered all of downstairs (the living room for the second time today) and then gave my bathroom a super-super clean!!!! argh!!!!!!!!!

kayzisexpecting · 02/12/2008 16:31

Its all my fault!!!!!!!
Reban is on my Due Dec thread with Chutney(who had the most gorgeous baby boy yesterday) I am guessing she saw my name and just posted it here by mistake.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 02/12/2008 16:37

haha!! kay i did wonder if she'd seen someone elses name or post and just posted automatically!!

kayzisexpecting · 02/12/2008 16:39

You need to come clean my house woman!!!!!!
DS has just made a huge mess again and I am getting sick of cleaning it.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 02/12/2008 16:44

I need someone elses house to clean!! I swear i'll have worn my house away with scrubbing if my nesting stays like this till april!! I've even got 'scrubbing all skirtings with bleach & toothbrush' on my list of jobs for tomorrow!! but i think i want to get cracking now while i'm impatiently waiting for GRUFF's appearance!!

kayzisexpecting · 02/12/2008 16:48

You could make money by cleaning people's houses!!

Just had a strange thought. What if I don't reconise(sp) contractions?

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 02/12/2008 16:55

well you may end up with an un-planned home birth!!! i always had that worry but i did know both times....

oooh- Kay- think i'm winning on the pea debate!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 02/12/2008 17:00

Kay, did you sleep through DS1's labour? Of course you'll recognise the contractions woman! LOL

Glask, afraid you'd have competition trying to clean here, I've even got a different pair of marigolds for differnet rooms, and it is nothing to do with DH!

Have heartburn, badly, am not moaning because quite frankly heartburn is low down on the list of moans but jeez I wish it would go!

kayzisexpecting · 02/12/2008 17:02

My friend didn't recognise contractions the second time and she had her DD in a layby!!!

Just had a sharp twinge in my bump but it didn't feel like a contraction. Thats what made me think of it.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 02/12/2008 17:08

Isn't this stage horrible? Every little twinge and movement and feeling and none-feeling even is 'a sign', and the thought that it could all carry on for another 3+ weeks.... t'is enough to make you want to curl up in a ball in the corner and not come out till the baby is out!

There are no magic answers, all you can do is focus on the point where you have to had him by, is it boxing day you're 42 weeks? Did you say they would induce you just before xmas? Look at NY eve, by then you will have a tiny little baby, you'll not be pregnant anymore, and it'll all be over. It's really not that long away.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 02/12/2008 17:08

tut non-feeling!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 02/12/2008 17:14

Just back from the lovely midwife.

Measured me and said it was normal for dates but is long baby But its lying transverse as it always is... am sure it will move over the next 15wks.

Come on Gruff- guess your blackberry is a bit dodgy today....

Glask- I've got a house that desperately needs cleaning, dusting, mopping hoovering etc. Can send some keys

kayzisexpecting · 02/12/2008 17:15

Yeah Boxing Day is 42 weeks and they will induce me just before Xmas. I think I will have killed them by Boxing Day.

SIL has offered to have DCs on NY eve. I said I wouldn't be going out as I will be too tired and will be feeding DS2 anyway. She reckons I can express so she can have them.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 02/12/2008 17:23

Haha- Nat- i think i'll be like that in a matter of days the way i am.... Poor DC's ahve got about 6/7 toys in the middle of the living room, looks like more becasue they're biggish and scattered about but i've just told them they better tidy it up now if they aren'playing with it!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 02/12/2008 17:29

GYo, glad MW went well

Kay, you'll get there, and you know what, once he is born, all of this you're going through now is completely forgotten about. When I have read through my labour threads, I can see the frustration and impatience in my posts, but I don't look back at that time and remember it that way, if that makes any sense? What took weeks to pass by, seems like 5 minutes, and it will do again this time.

Glask, DS2 just gets everything out, and then when he gets to the point where he can't walk without stepping on something we pack them all away, probably 7/8 times a day! I don't mind the toys out, especially because he does play with them, he has them all set up in his own little way, but mess and dirt get's whipped away PDQ!

kayzisexpecting · 02/12/2008 17:35

I just feel like life will so much easier when he is here. I might get more sleep, will not need the toilet so much, no heartburn and I'll be able to get comfy.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 02/12/2008 17:37

Well then, you have something to look forward to. Chin up chick, not long to go now (and before you hit me over the head with a frying pan for saying that, I'm allowed, I have longer!)
