Spangle, don't blame you for not feeling like going out last night! Don't feel guilty for it. Perhaps this woman could come and visit you some time or meet up during the day for coffee. You'd think people would understand you don't feel like doing so much in pregnancy.

Momino, did you go to that nice cinema in York - is it called City Screen? I was in the cafe there earlier this week as I went shopping with my sister-in-law. I love York! But it must get hellish when it's busy. I went to that shop Expecting and got a maternity swimming costume which I was really pleased about. The shops in York are SOOO much better than round here. (Nearest city is Hull.)

xx

MsG · 07/12/2008 09:50

PS I think the film's called Changeling.

frazzledoldbag34 · 07/12/2008 10:33

I'm going to see Changeling with my SIL sometime this week I think. Will be taking a pocketful of tissues with me I think!

frazzledoldbag34 · 07/12/2008 10:33

I think, I think, duh need to switch brain on I think!

mootie · 07/12/2008 11:50

Who's feeling their bump? I'm 18 weeks, it's my second, and not really sure what I'm feeling at the moment. It may be my stomach, it may be a baby...

FiKelly · 07/12/2008 13:21

I'm def feeling baby moving inside but still to feel anything when i hold my hand to the outside of my belly..

Momino · 07/12/2008 15:22

hi all.
fi, hope Douglas is better - for your sake as much as his! I know what it's like to clean up (or try to) dog messes no matter from which end (ugh).
MsG, it was City Screen and a lovely afternoon out, going to the cinema is a treat no matter what the film content. Changeling was an excellent film if a bit of a shocking story; would recommend and defn bring tissues, Frazzled. Mootie, am 19wks and don't think I've felt anything yet. This is my 3rd as well so am slightly nervous about it but don't think I felt last time until 19/20 weeks. am having anomoly scan Wed which will hopefully put me at ease.

dd1 has had so many accidents this afternoon. Held it in all morning despite our asking until we were nearly home from the shops buying pants and she let it go. Bless her, she didn't get upset, I'm glad for that. This afternoon, she's had 3 accidents in 2 hours. sigh. we'll get there.

those with toddlers, what do you do/did you do with them needing to go to the potty when out shopping? did you buy a seat to put on the public loos? i asked dd1 if she needed to go to the potty at M&S but wouldn't do, think she's scared (?). don't think she'd like going on the big toilets in shops. Any ideas?

Momino · 07/12/2008 15:24

by the way, MsG, if you're (or anyone else for that matter!) ever in York again, let me know. I can meet you as only live just outside the city walls, a 10-15 min walk.

FiKelly · 07/12/2008 16:22

momino we've not got to the potty training stage at all yet! but thinking ahead i liked the look of those flat folding little loo seats or the potette sp? when we eventually get to your stage might get one or the other..

Momino · 07/12/2008 17:42

thanks Fi, never heard of them but they look just what we need. just bought the basic one from Mothercare online and extra liners.

sigh. this potty training is tough. this evening she's had so many accidents even though I'm right next to her, the potty's right here, and each time she squirms I try to get her on the potty (usual encouragement, rewards, etc) but she protests and yells. Then when I leave her alone, she has an accident. The last time was on my legs, jeans, slippers. grr.

does anyone else think you don't have enough patience to be a mum? please say yes, as I'm hoping this is normal otherwise poor baby3 yet to arrive!

Febes · 07/12/2008 18:47

Momino- I definately feel like I don't have enough patience to be a mum. I think guilt comes with the job title though. Just got to do our best. As my wise little sister said 'This to will pass -tis all just a phase.'

Momino · 07/12/2008 19:44

you're right, Febes. i was raised Catholic so guilt comes naturally to me . It does feel 10fold though since becoming a parent.

on a diff subject, I bought my two LOs dollies for christmas today online (doing most my shopping online - no crowds). I can't wait to see them open on christmas day! Having children defn makes the holiday more magical and fun.

llareggub · 07/12/2008 22:06

Gah, can I rant?

I've been watching the West Wing on More 4 since I went on maternity leave with DS back in September 2006. It has been my regular Sunday night viewing since then, as they've been showing all the seasons from the beginning. I'm half way through season 6, with just one and a half seasons to go, and there is no sign of it!

Now what do I watch? Am eying up the box set on Amazon...

Talking of repeats, is anyone else addicted to 'The Riches'? If you hear of it being repeated PLEASE tell me.......missed the first couple of episodes of first series and would love to see it.
DH just back from Tescos (sent him out for bread and milk). The good news is he also brought chocolate. The bad news is he got stopped for speeding. Silly boy.
Luckily he has no points (well, he does now).
Grrrrrr.

frazzledoldbag34 · 07/12/2008 23:21

My DH has just requested a blow job.
Errrr No.
(I told him they aren't recommended by Doctors)
Back me up on this ladies!

frazzle lol fat chance of dh here getting one too! too many things making me gag already without that.. more chance of sex and that's pretty remote. would a hand do instead?

yawningmonster · 08/12/2008 06:31

arrgghh frazzled can so sympathise dh and I had some us time last night and this 'came' up as a hopeful suggestion and much like you I declined though I just said 'not bloody likely mate be glad I've enough energy for a shag'. Anyway have not clocked in for a while so nice to see everyone. I have anomoly scan tomorrow and quite nervous as didn't have 12 week nuchal scan or any screening for anomolies prior to this. Also a bit nervous of the whole having to have a full bladder when I will have to drive for 45 minutes to get to hospital for scan!!!

Momino · 08/12/2008 14:16

what was it with last night and the men, then? my dh asked for some action which I declined but felt badly about it. i just didn't feel like it and dh had had a few glasses of wine, prob no heartburn, no big lump on the front of him, etc.

i do hate the smell of alcohol when I'm not drinking it, really turns me off.

staying in today, except a five minute walk to the post box. no accidents yet and one big wee after lunch. still difficult to get her on the potty and she doesn't like to sit and wait on it, but I think we're making progress .

Hi all,

Just popping in before my first antenatal yoga class. Hope all is ok - will try to catch up properly tomorrow.

llareggub I love WW too. Zavvi has the complete box set half price atm. Can you add it to your Christmas list?

Dandy Am feeling grouchy too, keep bickering with dh, doesn't help that I know he's desperate for some, ahem, action but I can't face it.

Have 16 wk mw appt tomorrow, can't find my pee pot! oops!

runningmonkey · 08/12/2008 17:51

Oh yeah, does anyone have a completly bunged up nose? I feel completely fine but My nose is dripping like a tap and I can't breathe through it. My preg book says that its another symptom but I can't help thinking I've caught another cold off the kids in school!

llareggub · 08/12/2008 18:16

runningmonkey DH has just bought me the boxset to make up for the fact I can't have anything nice to eat until this baby is born due to gestational diabetes...so I can have my Sunday night viewing back at least.

JennstarOfWonder · 08/12/2008 20:56

Avocado pear with worcestershire sauce for my snack tonight.
