Oh yeah, My DD is quite a big Bear in the Big Blue House Fan, and we got a DVD in Asda for like £2, and it's about the little mouse Tutter I think his name is, potty training, really good DVD DD watched it tons, I sat her on her potty a couple of times, while she watched it lol

And to make you feel better (hopefully) I worked in a school with one particular 5 year old, who wasn't potty trained. We felt for him in a way, as he was so confused, one day his mother would send him in a pull up, the next day pants, he didn't know where he stood really.

agooboo · 04/12/2008 13:43

HtheH - the movements you have described sound about right to me, and the food colouring - what a good idea! I want to try it out. might do it in the loo for when DH goes. ha ha, how sad, can tell I'm off work and had no chatter with 11-18 yrs olds!!

Jael - I am nr Leeds but I teach in Bradford, think it's quite bad over there. Buses only running main roads. We have a covering here and it's starting again so fingers crossed school may be shut tomorrow but I have probably jinxed it now.

Is nobody else on here in Scotland? Am I the only lone northerner?

Jael · 04/12/2008 13:53

Well I'm in the Midlands, Stafford, and we haven't seen a single snowflake

agooboo · 04/12/2008 13:53

Oh yes - I have jinxed it. It's turned to rain. B*gger.

Jael · 04/12/2008 13:55

oh my gosh, I've only just got your name lol frazzled old bag. I've been wondering for ages what frazzle doldbag was lol

frazzledoldbag34 · 04/12/2008 13:57

Although I was in London at the weekend and spent a while drooling in Harrods Toy Kingdom. Seriously fabulous. My friend (tried) to go into Hamleys but apparently it was hideously busy and they were queuing to go up the escalators and letting people out through the staff entrance it was so busy..........so much for a recession!
Then she realised that the Star Wars lego she was about to buy was £20 more than in Toysrus for exactly the same thing! So she didn't buy it after all that effort!
The Ben Folds concert at Shepherds Bush Empire on Sun night was fab though - bet nobody else has heard of him?

frazzledoldbag34 · 04/12/2008 13:58

Yes jael - it suits me some days!

Jael · 04/12/2008 14:02

Sorry, I'm so blonde somedays.

Is anyone taking their DC to see Santa at Harrods? Just wondered as were going on the 15th, wondered if I'd see anybody there That's if I can make it, I'm planning on not doing much the weekend before, so hopefully should be able to enjoy the day with DD.

HtheH · 04/12/2008 14:04

I am in South London too, Wandsworth. But having baby at C&W as had all our bad experiences at St Georges Tooting and want to keep it that way!

ooh so exciting to find another Ben fan! I love `Landed' too. Have you ever seen him live - he's excellent. Am warming to his new album - wasn't too keen at first. Have been looking on line for his next tour dates........

agooboo · 04/12/2008 14:08

BTW have just uploaded my scan pic from last week onto my profile.

llareggub · 04/12/2008 14:09

Jael, I'm a midlander too! No snow here either.

Monimo, I've been told the key to successful potty training is to take your cues from the child and leave it until they are ready. DS did a wee in his potty when he was 13 months or so and we were so, so proud and smugly thought we'd have it cracked! But at 2.1 he still isn't ready apart from the latest development which is to tell us when he is damp. However, he just isn't ready I think as he refuses to admit when he's had a poo, never mind tell us before!

It'll happen when it happens. No one ever goes off to university in nappies do they?

Jael · 04/12/2008 14:11

I can't get onto your profile Agooboo X

frazzledoldbag34 · 04/12/2008 14:11

agooboo - he used to be Ben Folds Five then he's changed to just being Ben Folds. (but obviously with a band). We've seen him 3 times live in the last couple of yrs - good excuse for a weekend away too! Hoping he'll play Paris or Rome or somewhere exotic that we can slope off to maybe this time next year.
(If you're reading this Ben, May isn't a good time for us!)

HtheH · 04/12/2008 14:14

By C&W I mean Chelsea and Westminster. I would have loved St Thomas's, but they don't take people from my GP. A bit apprehensive about Chelsea and Westminster as have heard really mixed reviews. St Thomas's is meant to be fantastic though.

agooboo · 04/12/2008 14:16

Ah, (I won't admit to being a music teacher) LOL.

agooboo · 04/12/2008 14:20

Jael how about now?
