Hello girls - mind if I join in too?

I'm due on 6th Aug so hope you don't mind I've copied last list and added myself in (below).

Already have a DD age 2 1/2 (don't know how she'll adapt to not being the One and Only!!!)

I see there are a few over 35's - I'm 39 and will be 40 just before the little one arrives so it'll be a quiet party!

Got a scan booked for 7 weeks as a few health issues mean I need to be monitored carefully so please keep everything crossed for me.

Was dying of sickness from day 1 with DD but so far just knackered with tiny bit nauseus (can't spell). Perhaps a DS this time?...

Just noticed Ilovebeingamummy you're due 6-12 Aug - is that the same Ilovebeingamummy that was on the TTC for an August baby thread? If so they still have you as waiting to find out.

Go on - log onto them and tell them your happy news it'll give them all a real boost.

Hope that's not being too bossy!!!

nuttygirl · 07/12/2008 22:48

Mmmm salty anything sounds good to me . Last time I craved ready salted chipsticks (they are unbel;eivably hard to find, the salt & vinegar ones just didn't do it for me!). This time anything salty will do.

Lol @ wanting a dumper truck rather than a brother or sister. Apparently when my sister had her second child their first ds told everyone that his mummy had a bus in her tummy. When their ds2 was born they bought ds1 a bus, which he found much more interesting than the baby

Zorra · 08/12/2008 06:51

Hehehehe @ buses and the like This will be DC1 for me and (crosses fingers etc that everything goes ok) will be DGC1 for both families! Expect lots of threads on 'how do I stop my DC from getting spoilt rotten by doting grandparents'

Actually I don't know why I'm being so jolly, still so nauseous I can barely move and I keep being a little bit sick (sorry, TMI!)

Happy Monday folks x

pussface · 08/12/2008 09:55

Morning all, feeling very hormonal at the moment with crazy mood swings, is this normal? When my family are all crazy and demanding attention I?m feeling over tired and when they?re not there I?m lonely and miserable.

Growled at friend of DSS this morning for ringing our doorbell 4 times, doesn?t he realize I have been up half the night with a teething baby

Welcome LittleFairySmile, Heinzsight, cwtchy, noodle12

anniecam38 at bumper truck.

bluesatinsash - even at 14 DSS is king of all he surveys too and in a chat about families he said he would NOT like to have a brother

TaleofTwoCities - The information on the internet about what could go wrong in the first trimester and third trimester is the worst, I am trying to block it all from my mind now and focus on the positive.

Zorra - sorry you are feeling so sick. I?m afraid I don?t have any advice on what to eat as I didn?t throw up in my last pregnancy and hopefully it looks like I won?t be on this one too but I lots of sympathy for those who do get sick it must be awful.

I am the opposite just eating all the time and am worried about putting on too much weight. Went to Sainsbury?s yesterday and bought 4 multipacks of crisps!! DH and DSS will help me eat them though, honest

Positive vibes out to all those other bumps to be, roll on our first trimester, we can do this!!

HeinzSight · 08/12/2008 12:47

pussface am also in the miserable and hormonal camp. I do remember being like this early on last time.

pussface · 08/12/2008 13:03

I'd forgotten but DH tells me I was very emotional last time and he finds it hard to keep up with me. He is good at not over-reacting to my outbursts.

I feel pretty calm now as I have just been watching some weepy dvds to release some tension it's like wierd pmt.

nuttygirl · 08/12/2008 13:07

Oh yes, crazy mood swings are very normal. Actually I knew I was pregnant cos I was crying at everything - v odd for me.

Had my booking in today. Mw seemed reasonably pro-homebirth which was good. She rambled a lot about what not to eat (which is useless for me cos I don;t eat cheese, tuna or liver anyway!). Had to pick a hospital for scans and her response to me not knowing which to pick was to tell me they both have pretty decent parking . So I picked at random

moosecat1 · 08/12/2008 13:09

hi all, had a scan on Saturday, too early to see a heartbeat as only 5+3 or 4 but the pregnancy sack was the right size for the date so fingers crossed. Consultant t
Reckons if everything is ok at 9 weeks all the drugs I'm taking will be working although now also have to take progesterone pessary - yuk. Roll on next Monday for epu visit.
Pussface stay away from google! My dh was convinced his IBS was colon cancer last week. I also convinced myself that aches and pains were the start of a mc after reading about mcs.
Oh well here's to next Monday and a heartbeat. Lots of baby glue to everyone and relief from nausea and tiredness :-)

SpecialOffer · 08/12/2008 13:09

oh I am miserable at the moment as well, I was due round my friends this afternoon for a play date, but she has just called and her little girl has conjuntivitus (sp?). Now I don't know wheither to take ds, but I can't stay in as I will go mad!!

Grrrrrrr

Maybe I will chance it?????

pussface · 08/12/2008 13:27

Arrgghh SpecialOffer don't do it, it's highly contagious, you'll be wiping gluey eyes for days.

nuttygirl at your choice of hospital, it's hard to know unless you've been there before. I can't wait for my appointment, I love hearing the heartbeat, fingers crossed! I have my docs on Friday just to tell them I'm pregnant, seems like ages away.

fingers crossed for you moosecat1 I am trying to stay away from google but it's not working, I had to look up getting highlights/foils at hairdressers on Sat just to doubly check I wasn't doing anything to harm the new baby even though I have already done this before. I think I've turned into that crazy pregnant woman again!!

bluesatinsash · 08/12/2008 13:58

Afternoon All,

moosecat Good news re: your scan and fingers crossed for next week..

specialoffer - I would stay away too. Is it dry there? Wrap up and go to the park!

I'm feeling OK, having mild waves of nausea and appetite still subdued but feel/hope this is the calm before the storm as ms will reassure me that bean is growing.

Got my booking in - 8th January - aaaages away but once Christmas is over it will be here before I know it.

Sticky thoughts to all xx

TaleofTwoCities · 08/12/2008 14:43

Hi all, glad about your scan moosecat. I had an early scan in my 1st pg and it was very reassuring.

bluesatinsash - I'm about the same as you in terms of symptoms, I've been obsessing about when ms kicked in the last 2 times and whether it already had by this stage.

Actually am for once looking forward to my 3 days at work this week starting tomorrow. It will be good to focus on something other than this pg and the fact that dh is still 'very unhappy' about it . My brain is in a whirl - happy but anxious and wanting to make sure my 2 dcs don't get affected by any atmosphere between myself and dh. Hope it'll all come out in the wash.

SpecialOffer · 08/12/2008 15:18

Well have stayed away...took all your advice, I know you are right!

Am so exhausted, can barely get off the sofa, so we are having a bottom of the toy box day, which is going well, even if I feel bad for my ds. I have already arranged to go to a singing group tomorrow so that will get me out of the house.

moosecat - glad all is going well with the scan etc and good luck for next week.

taleoftwocities - am sorry your dh has not come round to the idea yet. My friend went though a similar thing with her dp, and although he came round to the idea, and got excited, I know how hard it was for her, expecially with all the hormones!

TaleofTwoCities · 08/12/2008 16:43

Thanks Specialoffer. I am tearful just now but I have lovely parents who are being really supportive and am glad of that. Hope the rest of your afternoon is ok and you enjoy the singing group!

LittleFairySmile · 08/12/2008 18:34

Hi all, just checking in. Lovely to read eveyone being so supportive. Have Drs on Wed to book booking in with midwife (WTF?) What a waste of Drs time! Hosp. said 'who's your Dr?' and I gave them the practice, and they said 'No, who is seeing you for this pregnancy?' Ho hum!

Good news Moosecat from your scan!

SpecialOffer · 08/12/2008 18:41

I also had to go to the Drs to "book" in for the midwife

I wouldn't mind if they confirmed my pregnancy, but he just gave me my exemption form and sent me on my merry way.....

LittleFairySmile · 08/12/2008 18:44

That's just what I expect! First time I at least expected them to do a test to confirm I was pg., but no!

cairns · 08/12/2008 19:53

Evening all

Moosecat, v v glad the scan went well

TaleofTwoCities. I am sure your DH will come around, especially when things become more real later on and he sees the little bean on a scan. I must be so difficult for DPs as they don;t get any hormones, feelings or anything so I guess at this early stage it is always difficult to relate. My DH keeps 'forgetting' that we are pg which does make me laugh at least

I can't remember when MS kicked in last time but am sure it was 7-8wks. I had a late July baby and I do remember having horrible MS at Xmas last time. I am sure I am just starting (mild) MS though so it looks like those hormones are starting to build up.

SpecialOffer. I too had a lazy pm today, I was just sooo tired and it isn't like me, I have to get out of the house with DS or it normally drives me mad entertaining him. When DC2 comes along it at least will be easier to keep them entertained.

cwtchy - joint Bday parties likely here too...(july 23rd DS) and summer parties are soooo much easier (weather permitting) as we can use the garden

BabyBump2B · 08/12/2008 21:02

Hi All! So lovely to see all the chat here!

Moosecat So glad your scan went well am slightly at getting scan - I just want something to make this feel like I'm not dreaming!

TaleofTwoCities I hope DH comes round soon. Must be very hard for you.

SpecialOffer good on you for staying away!

I'm not really having many symptoms (which is making a bit anxious none-the-less) and I swear the days are going by far slower than before! I'm also not really tired - quite the opposite in fact am feeling relatively energised is that really strange? May be that I'm recovering from pneumonia for 8 weeks and anything is better than that but not sure!

EstherOnions · 08/12/2008 22:42

Hello all,

By some incredible (Christmas?) miracle I got my BFP last week. Five minutes later I got my next BFP, even though I'd told myself I'd hang onto the second test until the following morning! For me it's a small miracle because, after miscarriages and then a stillbirth at full-term in 2007; plus my age - 41; plus trying for months and months with no joy (normally I fall pregnant in a heartbeat), I truly didn't believe it would ever happen for me again. I am blessed in that I do have an 11-year-old daughter, but having a baby with my husband would mean the world to us. Anyways, I'm chuffed to small, steaming bits - and chuffed for you all too!

OonaghBhuna · 08/12/2008 23:32

Welcome Estheronions, my heart goes out to you and I hope that you have some joy with this pregnancy.I am keeping everything crossed for everyone and myself, it seems like alot of people on this thread have had really difficult times.Hopefully the New Year will bring in lovely positive scans.

I am getting some nausea and the tiredness is kicking in plus I feel hungover in the morning...

Oh yes and welcome to all of the Newbies

babylanguagelearner · 09/12/2008 05:17

Hi ladies, I'd like to join your thread. I've been lurking for a few days and enjoying reading all your supportive messages to eachother. Got my bfp just over a week ago and still not really sinking in. We were trying, but I was convinced it hadn't happened this time and I just did a test to reassure myself I could have a drink and not worry, what a surprise I got!

My edd is 3 Aug I think. I've added myself to what I hope is the current list ... btw am in Oz. Look forward to chatting to you all.

hi estheronions sounds like you've had a rough time, hope this one works out. Have you had any investigations into the mcs? I did and am now on course of medication to stop my body fighting the bean.

Is anyone getting spots? Not sure if it's the pg or the progesterone I now have to take but my hair is also getting really greasy as well.

cairns · 09/12/2008 13:20

Welcome EstherOnions and babylanguagelearner. Hope all goes OK with this one for both of you.

Well for all of those symptom checkers out there I had my first proper bout of MS this morning. I'll spare you the lovely details but meant I couldn;t leave the house with DS (17m), with him watching me all confused. It still came as a bit of shock despite the mild nausea the last couple of days. I suppose so now need to get stocked up on supplies (ginger biccies, fizzy water (for me it works)and will get one of those wristband things to see if that works this time). Feel quite bad as the only thing that stopped it this am was a can of coke (full fat but !!!)

Anyone got any lovely tips they can share to help beat it would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for the whinge just feeling a bit sorry for myself today, it was bad the 1st time around but at least I could indulge in a bit of self pity , but when you have an active toddler loose to deal with it is very different indeed.
