Welcome pusface and heinzsight Pussface I've been trying to ignore google. Worked myself into a frenzy the other day - then realised I needed to step away from the computer. I think perhaps sometimes ignorance is bliss!

As far as your DSS - how teenager-y is he? Would he be upset if there was a problem and he found out then? I would have been devestated at that age if I hadn't been told earlier on but you and DP know him best!

OonaghBhuna · 05/12/2008 17:21

Hi somebody mentioned something about age well I am 37! Its nice that there is a mix of ages my last ante natal group were all in their twenties so it will be nice that we are all a mixture I think....)
Feel a bit queezy today

TaleofTwoCities · 05/12/2008 17:24

Hi everyone, glad to see some new faces! Have to add myself to the over 35 group - am 35! Have been getting that pregnancy hunger thing today and sore boobs. So just waiting for the hunger to turn to sickness Am exhausted having been trying so hard to be nice to dh after his shock reaction. Even have his dinner in the oven tonight...

TaleofTwoCities · 05/12/2008 17:25

Pussface - I vow not to google anything to do with 1st trimester pregnancy! So scary isn't it!

cairns · 05/12/2008 19:27

Welcome Pussface and Heinzsight.

Moosecat, hope the little bean is a stayer, fingers crossed for you.

I too googled everything I could get my hands on for my first pregnancy with DS as it was all new and I was checking every possible symptom as it took us ages to conceive and a few MCs. I guess I am stopping myself doing it with this one as am avoiding the added stress, It still doesn't seem real until I see that scan which here is a nuchal at 11-13wks... so some time to wait yet until we get to meet the little bean

Told my mum this week and registered with the GP today which made things seem more real. Although I am sooo tempted to do another pregnancy test as I still have one left (just to check )

Really looking forward to this weekend though as have quite a few visitors over plus it is the Xmas Lights Party/switch on in our village which should be fun. I am wondering what DS (16m) will make of it all (if any). Have a lovely weekend ladies

cairns you crack me up about pregnancy test! I have some ov sticks left that I want to pee on (they show 2 lines when you're pg!) silly isn't it!

fairywing · 06/12/2008 10:36

Hi can i join please?? AF is not actually due until tomorrow but i have already had 3 faint BFP's so i guess im pregnant. Lovely early christmas present after 5 months of trying and 6 months of endo treatment prior to that to maximise my chances . Apparently i'll be due 15th August and this will be out first. Symptom wise all i have so far is spots lovely! and i tend to feel a bit nauseous in an evening but if i wasn't loking for symptoms i probably wouldnt notice particularly!

Just wondering what you gus are doing about telling people. i Will be almost 7 weeks by Chrstmas day and we thought it would be nice to tell people as we see them then. Do you think thats a bit to early though?? Not too sure. Also i have about 5 different parties between now and christmas and quite a few will have some of the same people a them. I have absolutely no idea how im going to be able to keep up the pretence at all of them and am wondering whether to just come clean in the first place. First party is this Thursday. What do you think

pussface · 06/12/2008 11:30

Hi all,

Raging hunger this morning, I've already eaten a banana, with some dark 70% chocolate a cheese omelette and potato waffles. Going to the hairdressers in 15 mins for a pre Christmas cut and highlights, fingers crossed I don't start gagging at the smells not sure I want to tell the hairdresser at such and early stage.

Thanks for your comments on the googling, i determined to leave it alone this time, well I probably know too much now anyhow

Also re telling DSS and family I am tempted like you fairywing to tell them at Christmas as a sort of good news celebration type thing. I have a good relationship with DSS and tell him everything. He was okay about DD and loves her but i told him quite late in, want to protect him in case the worst happens. He is already noticing that I am hungry, going to the loo all the time, yawning at 6pm and taking pregnacare tablets so he might put 2 and 2 together without me telling him which is why I think we should tell him.

Regards telling family I think you need to think should the worst happen how would they react and would you want them to know? If the answer is it would not be good for them to know then don't tell them, if you think they would be great and supportive then take a chance tell them and enjoy. Although we must think positive at all times I think it is best try to prepare a little should the worst happen than leave yourself open and not be prepare d.

Sorry long post and must go now to get ready for hairdressers will check thread later.

HeinzSight · 06/12/2008 12:47

I'm still in shock. I can't believe this is happening again.

OonaghBhuna · 06/12/2008 12:55

I am stilll in shock too.I cant get my head around food, what I can eat cant eat, no alcohol not that I drink much anyway. General stuff like that never mind feeling more tired each day.

nuttygirl · 06/12/2008 19:05

Pussface - I was meant to be at the hairdressers today too but I called and cancelled cos I couldn't face the smell in there. I couldn't last time I was pregnant either.

Re: telling people. I agree that you should decide whether you'd want them to know if anything did go wrong. I've told people because I feel like I'd need the extra support and understanding. Last time (with my first) I didn't want anyone to know until 12 weeks but they noticed I had a bump by 6 weeks and at 8 weeks I gave up trying to tell them I wasn't pregnant

OonaghBhuna · 06/12/2008 22:44

Re: telling people, I agree with nuttygirl. Tell people you are close to.I only tell people that I know who I would tell if anything went wrong. My first pregnancy ended after 10 weeks and although I had been careful about telling people it is still really really hard to to inform people that you have miscarried.
I know its exciting but 12 weeks flies by.I am going to tell my close family and my best friends and that is it until I get that scan.

LittleFairySmile · 06/12/2008 22:46

Hi, can I add myself? EDD unknown, reliably unreliable cycle, have to wait for scan. Really scared, had mc in July at 14 weeks! Hope this one, my little Button, sticks.

Welcome LittleFairySmile and everyone else. You're in the right place here cos a lot of us have had a mc,so we'll all be supporting each other and sending positive vibes. Hope you get you're scan soon.

anniecam38 · 07/12/2008 09:46

bluesatinsash-we also plan on telling our DS who is 3 after the 20 week scan but ive been testing the water and asking if he'd like a little brother or sister, but he says no, he would rather have a dumper truck! Oh dear!!!

Uki · 07/12/2008 10:29

Hi All

sitting here eating a jar of olives, never done that in my life. Do you think that could be a symptom i'm pg???

i still haven't told anyone apart from my mum and dad, it's hard not too, but I don't really want to tell ds's yet either, so best not to tell others, 8.5 months is a long time for them to be asking 'when's the baby coming?'

I honestly think it does make it a little more real when you tell people, but the downside i found was it was so much harder and more real if a m/c happens

on a more positive note my ob said that most of the symptoms starting kicking in at 7 weeks, so we should all have some strong feelings soon

HeinzSight · 07/12/2008 13:01

Still can't quite believe I'm posting on an antenatal thread again. This is slowly sinking in.

wow, there are going to be a bundle of summer babies next year. Welcome to all the new people to the thread!

re: telling people. With this pregnancy and with my ds I have told only close family and friends. The people I would turn to if I needed support if somthing happened!

Well I am exhausted and its slowly sinking in i'm pregnant.

Have spent the afternoon putting up the tree with my little helper (ds), he seems to be excited this year by all the lights etc.... I am so excited

BabyBump2B · 07/12/2008 16:17

Last night I told the last of my close friends who we've decided to tell. Its hard each time I tell someone I have this very small dreadful feeling like we're tempting fate. The friends we have told are either people we see a couple of times a week and/or are my closest friends. Plus they would have suspected the moment I said no to a drink!

I feel so torn between wanting to tell people and being terrified of miscarrying. I am just wishing the next 7 weeks away!

Zorra · 07/12/2008 16:58

Grrr feeling sick all day for the last few days, someone tell me it's not going to be like this all the way through?? It makes me feel too rubbish to eat, but I suspect eating may be the only way to stop feeling sick... There's nothing I fancy though and everything tastes of cardboard Suggestions welcome!

SpecialOffer · 07/12/2008 18:21

The only think I like to eat are ready salted crisps???

cwtchy · 07/12/2008 19:02

Hello everybody, can I join in please? I got my BFP today! I think I'm the latest due date on here so far - 21st August. I got carried away and tested this morning, even though I'm only 9 DPO, and lo and behold two lines appeared! So very early days for me yet.

I've got 1 DD who is 15 months, who's birthday is the 27th August. Looks like I'll be saving a bit of effort by having joint birthday parties..
