trixymalixy - me too. no symptons and not starting to show yet. It was about the same for my first pregnany, DD was quite small (under 6lb) so that must have been a factor. I did get some hideous backpain and other nasty symptoms toward end of pregnancy - hope that doesn't happen again.

nuttygirl · 29/01/2009 16:54

Welcome Mellin & Chezza.

Scan tomorrow morning so fingers crossed for that. Have to drink a pint of water before it (had to do that last time and when I got there the sonographer said I'd drank too much and had to let some out ) then antenatal appointment straight after it...am hoping I can nip to the loo in between!!! Must remember to take cash for scan pics (they insist you pay in pound coins)

Trixy - sorry to hear you've got the cold/flu thingy. It's awful isn't it? Hope you feel better soon.

DD is being hard work today, she seems to want to potty train but only when daddy isn't around. Had her running around with no nappy on and she used the potty 4 times then dh came home and she just wanted cuddles from him but he was trying to eat lunch so she got upset and pee'd everywhere and broke her little heart that she'd done it on the floor . Had to put a nappy on to calm her down. Am thinking of trying again at the weekend when dh is there all the time and seeing how she goes then. I know she's still quite young for it but she seems to understand it and she's been potty training her dollies

mamamila · 29/01/2009 19:57

hi all,
i've been lurking around now and again but not had anything new to add..still feeling grot but it's up and down sometimes better sometimes worse, isn't it vile this contstant nausea? it's so hard to describe to people, i know dp tries to remain sympathetic but i can see he's tired of this phase too! this has been a horrible month.

one bright spark i'm going for a 2nd visit to local nursery and hopefully dd will go 2 mornings from mid feb, brilliant for me and her, i'll feel a lot less guilty too

good luck for scans and

uki- jeez so sorry for you, i must be terrible being burgled. when are you moving? and is it far away?

loopylou25 · 29/01/2009 20:27

hi all

welcome mellin

My nausea and sickness seems of got worse the last couple of days living on cereal the thought of anything else and the smell just makes me feel awful was hoping it would be better now.

Got my scan tomorrow cant wait will all seem more real then.
good luck to everyone else who also have scans.

kitkatqueen · 29/01/2009 22:35

Hi All, had scan today and everything is fine, so relieved after sunday. Knackered. bed . night...

babylanguagelearner · 30/01/2009 09:02

hi all
kkqueen hope your back is feeling better, so glad to here the scan showed all is well. I loved the comments you shared that your dd1 and dd2 said to the new babies, My ds will be 20 mths when this baby comes and it's hard to imagine him being different to what he is now (14 mths)

so much going on for everyone, hard to keep up. So sorry pinky to hear your sad news.

melin and trixy glad to have some others along without symptoms, for me just my tiredness and the scans are the only proof it is not all in my head. Tho stomach starting to stick out so I guess that counts.

I have been for my 12 week scan today, and happily they have revised my date (again) back to the original EDD of 3 Aug, not 11 Aug as the dr thought last time. So that makes me 13+4 now, it's nice to be fast-tracked a week ahead of where I thought I was! Now if I could just shake this tiredness since it turns out am officially in 2nd tri now

it is fri night, weekend is officially here! hope your day goes swiftly and enjoy your weekend everyone.

SpecialOffer · 30/01/2009 10:46

Hello everyone!

kitkat hope your back feels better, it was horrible what happened to you, and I would sue as well! Good news about your scan though.

So sorry pinky about your news, please take care of yourself!

babylanguage glad your scan went well, and now you are a week ahead....

I am having a terrible day, dropped ds at childminders and went to work, and got a call 30 mins later to say he wouldn;t stop screaming and was really poorly. Had to dive out of work, they were not happy!! He seems fine now, white as a sheet and not really eating, but happy with his teddy in front of cbeebies! Children!!!!!

Hope everone is ok, we are all getting towards the 2nd trimester now... Can't believe I am 13+5 already....

Hawkmoth · 30/01/2009 11:35

Meh, had to work from home today as couldn't stop crying when I got out of the shower. Not for any particular reason, I was crying in my dreams as well.

Just hormones, so I cant really do a lot about it, save for trying to eat, which seems like a horrible effort at the moment.

HeinzSight · 30/01/2009 12:40

Pinky SO sorry to hear your news, take care of yourself xx

kitkat, I'm glad your scan went well, what a relief huh! How are you feeling?

Specialoffer sorry to hear ds isn't well, my dd hasn't been well for a few weeks now, recurrent ear infections, it is horrid.

Hawkmoth, these hormones have got A LOT TO ANSWER FOR!!

I am trying to hold it together really, DH has gone into work today to clear his desk, another one hit by redundancy , it seems to be a pretty grim month all in all, am hoping next month things will start to get better.

duchesse · 30/01/2009 13:00

My heartfelt condolences to all those who've lost their August-due babies. May you heal quickly.

nuttygirl · 30/01/2009 13:12

Can't get used to this new look I have to refresh before I start reading anything or else the writing is tiny.

Had scan & mw appointment today. Scan was fine, sonographer was lovely. There's just one baby (yippee!) and we got 2 pictures (though it seems to be two copies of the same pic ). Then had a health care assistant fill in most fo the paperwork, take bp and check urine (all fine). Had to then wait 45 minutes for a mw to see me and she was a pita. She wanted me to have Shared Care rather than midwife led because....I had pnd last time WTF???? I said "I don't see why I need to see a consultant at 20 weeks just because I had pnd AFTER having my first baby" and she couldn't give me a reason other than it was their criteria so I said I wasn't doing it and I wanted mw led care. Then she rambled on about how they have these criteria and gave the example of a PPH...to which I argued that a pph has implications for the birth and can affect a woman's decision on where and how to give birth and that talking to a consultant might be useful for them but that he'd not do much for someone who had a normal, straightforward birth (with the only problem being the attitude of the mw). She eventually admitted that if I requested mw led care that's what I could have so I said "that's what I'm having". Then I refused all the blood tests, which she wasn't too pleased about either. Oh and they forced me to take one of them awful Bounty packs so it went in the first bin I saw

nuttygirl · 30/01/2009 13:13

Sorry I missed reading the redundancy bit Heinz. So sorry to hear that. Dh was lucky enough not to be one of the ones this time but I expect there'll be more during the year. It's such a worrying time. Hope he finds something soon.

2HotCrossBunsAnd1InTheOven · 30/01/2009 14:02

Afternoon all. Heinz, sorry about your dh. Mine is now 3 weeks into his redundancy. The DSs love having at daddy at home - I'm not sure the nanny does though!!

Otherwise all well here. Feeling much better over the last couple of weeks although with every day life stresses the bean doesn't get a look in! Oh well, best get used to being a poor neglected 3rd child!
DS1 has recovered well from his hernia operation. We still have worries about MIL, she's not coping very well about FIL's infidelity (who would!) and is off-loading on DH abit.

Kitkat - glad was all well at the scan. Fingers crossed that your back gets better quickly.

Best wishes to all those with scans coming up.

OonaghBhuna · 30/01/2009 16:31

Cant get used to the new look. Heinz sorry to hear about your DH its such a difficult time, I hope he finds work soon.

Kitkat and BBLL glad the scans went went. BBLL my date was originally 11 August and has also been out back to the 3rd!

Nuttygirl Im glad your scan went well.Sorry to hear about the difficulties with the midwife. Its important to stick with what you feel comfortable with.

trixymalixy · 30/01/2009 18:02

Heinz, sorry about your DH, I hope he finds work soon.

2hotcrossbuns, sorry about your DH as well.

I'm being made redundant in October, or so they think (he he he) as I think I have managed to time things in such a way that they'll have to defer it until after my mat leave, so it'll be Novermber 2010 when I actually get made redundant. I'm really hoping things'll have picked up by then.

Kitkat, nuttygirl and BBLL glad the scans went well!!

BBLL, I just realised that i'm starting to show as well. I thought i wasn't until i put my work trousers on this morning for the first time in over a week and they are really tight.I'll have to ask my friend for my maternity stuff back this weekend!!

TaleofTwoCities · 30/01/2009 18:03

Hi everyone, have been reading but not posting this week! Please everyone fingers crossed for my friend who's having IVF embryos put back this week...There's no way I can tell her I'm 13 weeks preg with an accidental no. 3. Life is so unfair. Got nuchal/bloods result back - low risk so happy about that. It was like getting my exam results at school! Enjoy the weekend everyone.

BabyBump2B · 30/01/2009 20:05

Hi All!

Heinz - so sorry to hear about your DH - looks like we may be facing the same just waiting to find out.

Kitkat & BBLL so glad your scans went well!

TToC - hooray for your low risk results!

Still having rubbish ms/tiredness at 12+5 and been an absolute grump all week. Today is better and its the weekend hooray! Hope everyone has a good one!

TaleofTwoCities · 30/01/2009 20:10

Hi Babybump2b. I'm still feeling and being a bit sick too at 13+1 so sympathy. It's rubbish I remember ms being gone by this stage the last two times so bit fed up!!

LittleFairySmile · 30/01/2009 20:43

Hi to all, so many of us, can?t possibly comment on everyone!!

nellyup any info. you have could help. Am 30 mins. away from hospital, down country roads! But ambulance station is 2 mins from my house! I too would go in at first sign of trouble, and am even considering going in anyway because DH is a little nervous about home birth, NOT THAT I?LL TELL THEM THAT!!! So far as they know, it?s HBAC all the way!! I just want things on my terms wherever I am. I don?t want to be conned again. I want my permission asked too. Last time they never even asked me if I wanted my waters broken, just went ahead and did it with no warning either! I now know they need explicit permission to do that, and any other form of ?care?. Hey-ho!

kitkatqueen I would definitely take your firnds advice and take action against the play centre. Two reasons, first you need help and if you get the chiropractor you can help your family better, and second I wouldn?t want it to happen to someone else and, heaven forbid, it been even worse. IMHO! (Yes, I know, I?m not a bit humble!)

HeinzSight my DH made redundant at beginning of year, but things looking up now, it will happen for you too!

nuttygirl I don?t like this new look either ? especially as a really skinny model pops up first thing on teh screen before you scroll down. Makes me feel even fatter!!! Bloody NHS criteria and policies! Aaaarrrhhh!!!! Good on you for insisting. I hope we don?t all have to fight with the system! I hate the Bounty packs too, but took the free wash tablets and horlicks out, as I?ll use them, then binned everything else too!! They are just propaganda paid for by advertising moguls. I especially loath having disposable nappies forced down my throat on every page!!!

2HotCrossBunsAnd1InTheOven yikes, you have a lot on your plate. Hope things clear up soon, and glad son?s op went well!

LittleFairySmile · 30/01/2009 20:45

Please excuse poor spelling, too lazy tired to check through!

kitkatqueen · 30/01/2009 21:04

Heinz and 2hot, So sorry to hear about your DH's - Somthing unexpected will come up you'll see!!

Thanks to everyone for not laughing ( too much lol) about my stupid accident. I have taken all the comments from here on board and my rl friends are all saying the same so I am going to sue - bit nerve racking because i've never done anything like this b4, but at this rate I am going to need help. My 3 yr old only weighs 13kg and I really can't lift her. I spoke to osteopath 2day and have appt for next wednesday. So hopefully He will tell me my back is fixable soon!! As opposed to gp's prediction of August.

Have to admit to being v aprehensive going in for scan and just so relieved it was all ok.

I am so sorry for those who have had bad news and wish you all the very best. ((((((HUGS))))))

SpecialOffer · 31/01/2009 07:41

Heinz so sorry about your DH, seems like you are having a rough time at the moment. Lets hope it all starts looking up in Feb!

babyBump - I am 13+6 and still grumpy and tired. The tiredness is getting better, but grumpiness is probably just me!

LittleFairySmile - wanted to say thanks about the advice a few pages back about the cs and natural birth. I am trying to get my head straight at the moment as to what I want, and I will then fight for it.

Well after rushing the childminders and picking my son up yesterday as I thought he was really ill (as did the poor cm), after a sleep at lunch he was fine - no idea what it was. He improved so much I took him on a playdate and had a wonderful afternoon paid off work.... Shhhh don't tell work!!

Have a good weekend

loopylou25 · 31/01/2009 08:00

littlefairysmile - I had my waters broken without consent too!! I think you'd find it very different going in this time with more knowledge and experience if you do go in. My dh not 100% keen on HB either, but like you, not letting on, he'll come around. I know in my dh's case he just finds the whole thing very scary so it doesn't really matter where it is, its the process he doesn't like.

The stuff I've got on VBAC is quite a long Word document - too long to post on here. Do you use CAT?
