Bye for now.

nellyup · 23/01/2009 09:43

anniecam so sorry to hear about what happened. Take care of yourself.

Heinzsight I was interested to see you're going for a VBAC. Technically I am too - certainly the doctors and midwives are classing me that way even though I've had a vaginal delivery since my section! What do your medics think of it? I had quite a battle on my hands last time (though I was being an awkward so-and-so and insisted on doing it at home )

loopylou25 · 23/01/2009 10:34

hi all

anniecam so sorry to hear your news. take care of yourself.

Has anyone else been experiencing any pains in there stomach a bit like periods pains.
Im already showing and feeling massive and im only 11 weeks.

mamamila · 23/01/2009 14:26

hello,

so sorry to see your news annicam, hope you have plenty of rl support too

well still queasy and useless here! i'm so so sick of this, i haven't felt remotely cheerful for weeks. realised the other day that i hardly ever think about the baby, just struggling through the days and glad when each ones over, it's vile - this isn't my life!!
my dd is 17 months and also mad on jumping, and i feel so guilty that we're spending so many days at home with cbeebies on. she is playing really nicely by herself a lot but i still feel bad that i'm not singing and dancing and being fun
i can't stand cooking, the smell of washed clothes makes me retch, tv and computer give me migraines,i just want to sleep
agghhh, moan over! poor poor me
and my dating scan's not till 9th feb/nearly 13 wks, feels a long way off

mamamila · 23/01/2009 14:32

loupyloo- i've had sharp localised pains almost like ovulation pain, i read somewhere it's ligaments stretching. also had strong pain yesterday but turned out to be trapped wind! too many wholemeal sandwiches i think

i'm also planning on cs, last one was planned and i hate the idea of trying labour and needing ecs, better to be booked in and have nice calm spinal and try to 'enjoy' the experience

nuttygirl · 23/01/2009 14:53

I'm so fed up. I'm ill again. That's the third time this month . I think it's the same bug I had before and maybe I never really got rid of it. The doctor did say it could take a lot longer than usual to get over it - something about my immune system not working too hard because that could make it reject the baby. I've chucked up loads this morning, my lips are all chapped and so so sore (had sore lips last time too). I just wanna curl up in bed with a hot drink but have dd to look after.

TaleofTwoCities · 23/01/2009 16:18

Hi nuttygirl I'm fed up of viruses as well. I had a cold over Christmas that turned into a chesty cough and just got over that in time to get the same again in Jan. It's taking me ages to get over and I've lost my voice. Plus the combination of shot pelvic floor musles and coughing is not good - sorry tmi. I just want to feel better again. Glad to hear that the dr said that it might be the pregnancy making these things harder to get over. I'm beginning to feel like the sickly one in the corner at work....

Hawkmoth · 23/01/2009 16:33

I'm miserable too! Bloody parasite (though not really, office manager had printed off a copy of my scan picture and I kept looking at it all day).

Sick of feeling sick, but not being sick; bastard headaches; getting up to wee at 5am and not going back to sleep; nips murdering at 5am because it's so cold (TMI!!!); only being able to eat plain food; fantasising about curling up in bed (alone) all the time.

I too am ignoring DD. I cried this morning when she told me she had dreamt about me and her coming downstairs in the night and finding tiger slippers and yellow shoes for the new baby. Must try some activity with her other than naps!

Can't we just FFWD to August?

pinkypanther · 23/01/2009 16:35

Thanks babylanguagelearner, that's really helpful! Good luck with your scan. Only 21 days to go until mine, when I should be 11+6 (feel so far behind you guys sometimes!)

TaleofTwoCities · 23/01/2009 16:53

Oh no hawkmoth, fast forward to Aug would be way too scary...some positive thought waves for everyone feeling crap

  • Scans for everyone waiting will be here soon enough
  • 2nd trimester approaching
  • Snowdrops are appearing hence it must be spring soon.
  • We get to feel babies kicking
  • Summery maternity clothes

that's all I can think of, oh dear

Hawkmoth · 23/01/2009 17:09

Spring, yes

It's my birthday in 4 weeks.

Baby kicking... yes that'll be wonderful.

Is anyone else worried about melting if there's a hot summer?

OonaghBhuna · 23/01/2009 17:09

Maybe in the 2nd trimester we can enjoy food again? I would also like to feel I am blooming :0 Rather than black rings around the eyes and looking ill and knackered!

OonaghBhuna · 23/01/2009 17:11

I want heat, I am so fed up with being soooo cold!!!!

TaleofTwoCities · 23/01/2009 17:18

yes heat would be good - jealous of my sis who is living in Sydney. I keep opting for a hot bath at night but then find I'm boiling and can't sleep

BabyBump2B · 23/01/2009 18:03

Hey ladies,

I too am fed up with cold and snow and being sick. We're supposed to get MORE snow this weekend - we still have a 5 foot pile outside the house and its not melting. I took a bit of a tumble on my walk the other night - thankfully I have a fair bit of padding on my bottom or it would have been terrible.

Midwife said the other day if I've gotten sicker recently it will probably be 14 weeks before I feel any better - I was SO looking forward to the 12 week mark just so I could feel human again!

I've also been having very, ahem, sexy dreams about the new Australian Dr on ER - almost every night this week .

TGIF is all I have to say - bring on the weekend!

lifesaboxochoccies · 23/01/2009 21:31

hi again everyone, bless your dd hawkmoth! my ds was very cute thismorning too, he came to my tummy and kissed it then said into my belly button "i love you very much baby"! made me melt almost cried too!!! Im not really showing at all yet (i didnt with ds untill around 4-5 months if i remember rightly?!) but i think i have put a bit of weight on as allot of my trousers are getting too tight but i have bought something very cool from ebay which is called a maternity button its very good as it will put all your bottoms up by another size so you can stay in them for slightly longer!

SpecialOffer · 25/01/2009 08:28

Well the bugs finally hit us all this week, so have been struggling! I am starting to recover, as is ds, but dh is now ill...

I am officially in the 2nd trimester, I am 13 weeks and definatly feeling less tired, I wasn't really feeling sick, but have got my appeitie (sp?) back - whoopee!

Told work that I am pregnant, so everyone knows now, now I have just got all the hen pecking from the people I work with to cope with.

Hope everyones scans come quickly.... It's not a nice wait....

babylanguagelearner · 25/01/2009 09:08

specialoffer - hooray for you!! congrats on getting through the agonising wait of 1st tri

I moved back to Aust last year from UK, and friends tell me I am lucky to be missing a truly arctic winter ... and it sounds from you guys like it is really freezing. Hope it eases soon! Isn't it ironic, I generally prefer the heat but I'm not exaggerating, it has been SO hot here the last few days that I can't even take DS outside to play it is way too humid and sticky with the heat. It feels like a sauna outside. At least we will be into Aust spring / winter when my bump really starts to grow [she feels more optimistic about saying things like this, as the magical 12 week mark and scan gets nearer]

BoogieWoo · 25/01/2009 10:19

HI Loupyloo, I have had cramps since day 1 ...hence I didn't do a pregnancy test as I though my period was imminent! Doctor wasn't sure what it was. I got in touch with my midwife (not that I've met her yet) and she gave me the number for the eaarly pregnancy support line. Spoke to a very helpful nurse there who said that it was perfectly normal and that some women are just crampy...might go, or might have them throughout. It put my mind at rest though. Thankfully I've not had any morning sickness- I'll take cramps over that any day! I'm just over 11 weeks. Scan in a week and a half...can't wait!

BoogieWoo · 25/01/2009 10:21

...also in my impatience to look like I'm blooming, I've resorted to a little fake tan on my face. I still feel crap but at least people aren't telling me I look crap every day!

loopylou25 · 25/01/2009 16:42

hi Boogiewoo thanks for reassurance my cramps have gone off a bit the last day or so.
I cant wait for my booking in appointment on tuesday hopefully find out when i get my scan. My sickness is finally going away too. Cant wait for warmer weather either so fed up with being wet and cold.

nuttygirl · 25/01/2009 21:52

Feeling a bit better here. Popped to Bravissimo today and have gone up 2 cup sizes. Still in underwires though and the lady who did the fitting fit the bra so it would last a while in pregnancy (i.e. rather than fitting on the loosest setting so you can tighten it as it becomes slack, she made it fit on the tightest setting so I can loosen it as I get bigger).

Scan on Friday so I know this week is going to drag on!

Think (fingers crossed/touch wood/etc) that I'm getting over the bug and morning sickness is easing. I've stopped taking the folic acid now that I'm almost 13 weeks so am hoping that's ok to do (it's the folic acid that gives me morning sickness!)

kitkatqueen · 25/01/2009 22:17

HI nuttygirl, don't know if this might help you but there is a form of natural folic acid availiable from a company called solgar (u get it in health food shops) because it is taken from a natural source, it is more easily absorbed and doesn't generally cause the sickness problems you get with the ones by other companies.

They also do an all in one prenatal nutrient with folic acid in.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

nuttygirl · 25/01/2009 22:18

Oooh thanks. Will see if I can get some of that then.

kitkatqueen · 25/01/2009 22:24

No worries, I hope it helps, After 2 pregnancies with morning sickness almost all the way through I found out with no3 that it was caused by the folic acid. So wish i'd found out sooner! Much better this time round! Have u tried seabands?
