So sorry anniecam .

Re bras: Well I put on the one I bought in the Mothercare sales and it's a bit tight and my boobs are popping out of it so I think it's gonna be a trip to Bravissimo on Sat to have a fitting.

Re heartbeat: Here it's standard not to even try listening for the heartbeat until 16 weeks and last time my mw said not to worry if they didn't hear anything then as it can be hit & miss depending on the position of the baby.

Cairns why is it that the cheapy toys entertain them so much better than the expensive ones????!!! One of dd's fave toys is a Noddy that a little boy gave her at a fair I did (his family had the stall next to me raising funds for something and had no customers)

Well, having fought off the winter bug and started feeling better today I've started with a cold so feel all stuffy and going through piles of tissues.

Is anyone else really thirsty? I'm drinking tons of water, much more than usual. I thought it was because of being ill the other week but it's not easing up.

Rozebud · 21/01/2009 22:26

Hello everyone,

Please can I join? I am due 12th August and have added myself in below...

This is DC1 and my 12 week scan, including combined test for downs, is on Wednesday 28th. Is anyone waiting or just had their 12 week scan? I'd love to hear others' stories.

I swing from feeling ok about the scan to being so nervous. I know its natural to worry about the baby not being ok, but I just can't wait for the scan to be over. I had an early dating scan at 6+5 and everything looked good and we saw a heartbeat so fingers crossed. This pregnancy was a lovely surprise as I was told I would need clomid as I have wildy irregular periods.

Looking forward to lots of MN chat over the coming months...

hi girls,
So sorry regarding the more bad news from some.
Just to let you know I had my scan and everything seems to be ok.
I am off sick though at the mo as I have had a pants couple of days. Coldy, temparature and sickness. Been worried about how hot i am getting, but have started to feel minutely better so hope it is now going...
I only just read having a temp was bad, I was avoiding any drugs, but tonight am on the paracetemol to keep fever down.
Much love and good wishes to all
x

OonaghBhuna · 21/01/2009 22:47

Anniecam, Im so sorry to hear your sad news. Look after yourself x

Littlefairysmile- No you havent asked me about the planned section! I had an emergency section with Dd1 which was quite traumatic.Wanted VBAC with DD2 but she was breech after being engaged for weeks.Everyone was quite shocked by her change of plan Im ok with a 3rd section its tough but I feel it is a safer option for me and the baby.

Welcome to the newbies.

BabyBump2B · 22/01/2009 02:08

Oh Anniecam I'm so, so incredibly sad for you. I hope you are ok and have some support. I can't believe it, I'm so sorry.

I saw the mid-wife today (I'm 11+3) and everything is fine. Heard the heartbeat which is so fantastic!

I too need a new bra and am so glad to see the research on the underwire - I tried the elastic ones and was terrified by the droopy effect!

Welcome Choccies & Rozebud!

teachertalk · 22/01/2009 11:30

So sorry anniecam - I know what you are going through - if you feel up to it try some of the miscarraige threads I have found them a godsend the last week.

HeinzSight · 22/01/2009 12:03

Hi teachertalk, good to see you, how are you doing? x x

Rachel1963 · 22/01/2009 12:36

Anniecam - so sorry for you

nuttygirl - I've been really thirsty as well, don't remember being with DS. Have my booking appointment tomorrow and I'm in two minds whether I should tell the midwife or whether she'll immediately think I've got Gest. Diabetes.

Have also caught DS's cold, which isn't surprising as he spent two days sneezing and coughing in my face, so I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself.

But on the upside, I had my nuchal scan yesterday and all was fine, baby is looking good and I have (for my age) a very low risk for Downs etc. I think I may go and buy some maternity bras next week!

2HotCrossBunsAnd1InTheOven · 22/01/2009 13:46

Afternoon ladies. So sorry to hear yet further bad news - I'm sure it's a very difficult time. I hope you all have RL friends/family to support you.

Welcome to newbies - the list seems so long I don't think I will ever remember who anyone is.

I had my scan today and all fine. I was re-dated forward by 12 days to 28 July. I'm not that surprised as I was brought forward by 10 days with DS1. Seeing as I haven't reached by due date with either of my DSs I fully expect this one to arrive any time from 20 July! However I'm staying on this thread - too much to try to get to grips with who they all are on the July thread!!! I've updated the list. Good luck to those with upcoming scans.

On the other worries going on at the moment, DS1 has fully recovered from his operation and the cut is healing well. Such a relief. DH is ok, just, and trying to concentrate on finding a new job. Fingers crossed!

Hi everyone, anniecam I was shocked to hear your news. The posts you made on here were lovely and so supportive of everyone else and their pregnancies. There seems to have been so much bad news in the last week or so that I'm very sad.

I had my scan this morning and baby was waving and well so I feel very lucky indeed. I await the nuchal/blood results in a week's time.

Hotcross, glad to hear yours went well to. Quite nice for dates to go forward. Good luck for your dh finding new job soon. Such strange times at the moment. My dh was made redundant in the autumn and it's horrible. Luckily for us he found a new job quickly. Glad your ds1 has recovered.

I'm updating the list as my due date has changed v. slightly... as I knew exactly when conceived I was glad they didn't change it by much!

Hi everyone,

Question about when you start/started showing:

This is my first pregnany and I feel like a heffalump and like I am already showing (am 11+1, EDD 12th Aug). My tummy from ribs down has thickened, boobs massive, and today my tum feels like a barrel. Its a bit more distended at the bottom so it looks vaguely pregnancy related.

Is this normal? When will I look more properly pregnant? Is anyone else having to wear loose clothes and disguise their tummy (at work etc).

R

lea1980 · 22/01/2009 16:19

i cant believe there is so much sad news...it makes me panic about my lack of symptoms even more than i know i should be doing!!
hello and congrats to all the newbies!
this last week has gone so slowly...and its another 2 weeks until my scan yet!!!
i am pleased about the underwired bra thing, when i was expecting ds, they told me underwires were a definate no no...which pi**ed me off cos my boobs are big enough to start with, let alone once the pregnancy gets in full swing!!!
rozebud i was showing at about 11 weeks with ds...but i didnt bother hiding the fact, i had to tell people at work as soon as i found out because of the work i do (im a care assistant, so a lot of bending, lifting, stretching etc) and this time i have a definate bump, and my work uniform is a lot tighter now than 2 weeks ago!!
as for the rubbish mother thing...count me in!! its not that i feel like shite or anything..i just cant be arsed (that is really bad..i know!!) and to make matters worse, i think, even though he is only 17months, he is hitting the terrible 2s...he keeps hitting the dog with the potato masher, hitting the screen of our new tv with whatever he can find, putting things in the dvd player, climbing on the sofa to get to the window to either pull on the blinds or throw himself off he window sill (after shouting "go" so at least i know!!) and he wont even have an afternoon nap so i hVE T PUT UP WITH IT NON STOP ALL DAY!!!sorry....capitals due to ds touching buttons!!! ARGH!!! why am i even having another one??!!

pinkypanther · 22/01/2009 18:11

Really sorry to hear your news Anniecam38.

Am worrying about my little bean too since I have been having no real symptoms of the pregnancy, other than sore boobs at the start - no sickness/tiredness or anything (although do have a bit of a tummy!)

I went to UCH today and they said they wouldn't scan me without a GP or A&E referral - so much for the "walk-in" service...

I'm booked for my scan on Friday 13 February - feels like ages away and I might go mad before that!

SpecialOffer · 22/01/2009 19:13

I am so sorry Anniecam, such terrible news, please take care of yourself.

I had my 12 week scan and baby all good, but snoozing, so took a while to get the measurements they needed! My dates were spot on, and I am someone else who will probably have a planned c section, so will actually be a July baby, but you ain't getting rid of me.

Lea1980 - I too have a crazy ds 18m, who shouts go before he jumps on the sofa, draws on the Tv, climbs on the table.....What a cute age????

rozebud The too big for normal clothes, but no real bump lasted till almost 20 weeks for me last time, but everyone is different. Its frustrating, but I moved into maternity trousers earlish and kept with normal tops for quite a while.

LeninGrad - I had a 4th degree tear with ds, and my midwife has told me there is no way the consultant will let me have another natural birth. Will meet him again at 30 weeks so will know for sure then. I had read some stories about elective cs on here, and they are all very positive so maybe it is the best option for me??

olivo · 23/01/2009 08:17

Leningrad, I am another who will probably have an elective cs. DD was born by em cs, after quite a long labour, mwconium in my watres, and foetal distress. She was barely alive when she came out - apgar score of just one as she only had a heartbeat, and she didnt breathe for over 6 minutes. there is no way i could go through that again, despite them saying they would back me either way with another pg.

babylanguagelearner · 23/01/2009 09:10

just wanted to send a big ((((hug)))) to anniecam, I am so sorry for your loss

hi to everyone else and hope all going well. Next week is my scan (on Friday, when I should be 12+3), so very much counting down the days now to see the LO and make sure everything is OK. A close friend had the same experience as anniecam so it has been on my mind, so sad to read that this has happened.

pinkypanther I am relatively symptom free too, same as last time around with DS, and all turned out perfectly with him so try to stay positive. My doctor says that some people are just lucky to not suffer all the sickness and other symptoms, it does not necessarily mean bad news.

it is Australia Day long weekend here, and it is disgustingly hot and humid weather, making me feel even more tired than I already was!

anyway, sorry for long post. bye for now
