so sorry to hear some of you have had bad news, take care.
babybump2b i too have found my morning sickness has got worse this last week (am 10wks+6)which was bit of a suprise as had been expecting to start feeling better.
cairns have started wearing maternity bras now because i was already growing out of my others,i think you are ment to stop wearing underwired quite early because of the milk ducts, but am probably wrong.I got some emily b ones as quite hard to find pretty ones in larger sizes, the daisy 1 is lovely & supportive.
i caved in and had an early scan at 8 +2 ,i just wanted to know all was ok & they agreed with my dates ,all seemed fine,so fingers crossed it stays that way.
Have eventualy got my booking in appointment tonight, was a bit put out as midwife didnt phone till friday & seemed a bit off when i couldnt go see her that night as i have 3dc ,dh works evenings,no car & she wants me to go to the maternity unit which is about 3 miles away. The bit that made me laugh was when she said would try to pop up & see me last friday if she could fit me in but had to be before 4pm as she dont like to be out in the dark, yet im having to go see her at 5 pm tonight ,good job im not planning a home birth she might only do day deliveries ha ha

mamamila · 20/01/2009 14:46

hi everyone,
sorry to hear of more bad news. i wish you all good luck and the strength to cope with this. don't forget to remind those around you if you're not really fine, people are always keen to believe you're coping and bouncing back but you have to be honest with people if you're really feeling crap they need to know!
i just say this because i'm one of those people who doesn't let people see when i'm really down but i'm learning to with this bloody ms/24hr nausea
oh my god i have so lost my sense of humour with this. i'm getting pretty miserable actually. for everyone who says it'll be over by 12 weeks there seems to be 3 people who were sick all through pregnancy
*re:bras, i recommend anita underwired maternity range, i buy from figleaves

fustilarian · 20/01/2009 18:25

Anyone else due in August with a toddler feel like they are being the crappest mum ever? I can't face cooking, tidying, energetic playing, even going out for a walk half the time at the mo.... only a few weeks to go I suppose- am nearly ten weeks I think......... my poor DD is not having the time of her life during this trimester!

BoogieWoo · 20/01/2009 18:41

Here I am - just discovered the delights of mumsnet and found this thread. I'm due on the 13th Aug with my first and wondered if I could join your merry band. Don't have a scan until the 3rd Feb and can hardly believe that it's true. Had no morning sickness (thank goodness) but hanging onto the fact that my boobs are sore so it must be true! All came as a bit of a shock as I discovered the pregnancy 3 days after my dad's funeral. Am over the initial mixed feelings and starting to feel measured excitement.

OonaghBhuna · 20/01/2009 20:00

Amielied and teacher talk, I am so sorry to hear your sad news. My thoughts are with you both.Sending lots of hugs.

Welcome Fustilarian and Boogiewoo.I have been a crap mother too. I had really awful flu and the worst MS ever and have been fit for nothing. However MS is improving and I am noticing that I have a little more energy.....

fairygirl3 · 20/01/2009 20:31

mamamila - the anita bras look great, good to know that you can wear underwired,i could definatly do with the support !
im guilty of being a crap mum too, although am luckt that my older two (9&11) are great helps but my 2 year old is as wild as ever.
all went well with midwife ,should get my scan appintment in the next week, said the cut off for nuchal scan is 13wks6 days but hopefully have it before then.

TaleofTwoCities · 20/01/2009 20:43

Amelied and teachertalk, sorry to hear what has happened. Just crossing fingers that you will have happier news another time, it's just not fair. I'm a crap mum too at the moment, no energy. At the weekend ds playing on the carpet and me lying on the sofa with eyes closed not even feigning any enthusiasm... I think I'm 12 weeks today and scan on Thurs. I'm really nervous. Dh can't come so my mum is coming with dd. I just don't know whether it would be better to go on my own, I'll be on edge! I'm still feeling a bit sick too. I think I might be eating too much and feel boated and uncomfortable!!! But then I've had another cold and got a cough and coughing definitely makes me feel worse. I can't concentrate at work at the mo either!

TaleofTwoCities · 20/01/2009 20:46

Bras, well I am tiny and although slightly enhanced cleavage when pregnant I seem to remember that M&S doesn't do maternity bras small enough for me! I'm striving for a B cup!

LittleFairySmile · 20/01/2009 21:26

Hi all, some good news and some bad news here. amelied and teachertalk I am so sorry to hear your bad news. My heart goes out to both of you.

fustilarian, I?m sure you?ll cope brilliantly with the gap, and don?t believe all the BS consultants give you about eh risks of the scar. VBAC is perfectly healthy. Have you joined the yahoo VBAC group ? it?s great! I too feel like my DS is being neglected as I have no energy to do anything with him! It?ll pass, I?m sure!

trixymalixy how can you say it?s not as exciting second time around? DH has said he knows how much joy he?ll get so is so much more excited this time around, I think I agree with him!

Picante, only abstaining because I?m usually so tired I go to bed straight after to DS and need to sleep!!! Can?t believe I?m up this late on the PC! Usually in bed by now, but then DS is still up and DH is out tonight, so that explains it, I guess. He?s lying in my bed while I type. I plan to go to bed soon, with DS, and hopefully we?ll both get some sleep!

Sorry TaleofTwoCities, had to LOL when I read ?striving for a B cup?. I am a B normally, but am not C and straining. With DS I got to DD when feeding. Must buy new bras as I am bulging. DH gets an eye full when I un/dress, but they?re too sore to touch! Poor DH.

Take care all.

OonaghBhuna · 20/01/2009 21:37

I usually go from a AA cup to a G cup.....Umm could go bigger but stop at the G.My boobs are huge already, sore and tender.

kitkatqueen · 20/01/2009 23:15

Hiya,

Teacher talk and Picante, I am so sorry for your sad news. There really isn't anything anyone can say to make it feel any better, but I wish I could think of somthing.

All my good thoughts and wishes going out to you both.

To everyone asking about bras - I spent 13 months with dd1 and 18mnth with dd2 breastfeeding in those saggy non wired bras and being on the large size ( 40 gg after dd2!!) I actually damaged my back.

I found some advice online in desperation from several reviews by other mums and information on several websites sugesting that underwires were safe if and only if they were fitted properly against the body. Most people find that they dig in at the underarm and this means that the band size is too small.

I spent a very happy 3rd pregnacy wearing under wire bras throughout and when my baby was born I Modified them with popprs and elastic to turn them into drop cup nursing bras. I am still feeding my son ( he's 12 months) and I am 10 weeks pregnant today. And I have never had a blocked duct or problem assosiated with underwires the whole time. Everybody is different but I have never had a problem and if you have large norks like me you might find yourself wishing for an underwire!!

Have added a couple of links below but i'm sure you ladies can all do your own research...

www.figleaves.com/uk/fitting_room.asp?cat=161&txt=5804&cookied=20%2F01%2F2009+23%3A11% 3A33

Sorry that was such a long one!!

Picante · 21/01/2009 08:19

Just to clarify - it's not me with the bad news.

loopylou25 · 21/01/2009 08:21

hi all

Teacher talk and Picante, I am so sorry for your sad news.Hope you have lots of support.

I was wondering if anyone could fill me on nuchal scans should i be having one and what it is. Never had one with my two other daughters. How do i go about getting one?

As for being a useless mother i def am at the moment feel so sick and exhausted all day everyday can barely do the school run.Just wanna sleep hope it passes soon.

Does anyone has any recommendations of where to buy larger maternity bras im usually a size f and dread to think what size i am now.

kitkatqueen · 21/01/2009 10:15

Picante, so so sorry typed wrong name and am soooo emabarrassed.

Many apologies.

KKQxxx

Picante · 21/01/2009 10:18

Please stop saying it's me with the bad news!!!!

Kitkat apology accepted.

loopylou25 · 21/01/2009 10:57

Sorry Picante x x x x

nellyup · 21/01/2009 13:28

So sorry to hear the bad news.

I had my scan yesterday, all fine except they moved my dates forward by 10 days. Which I suppose technically means I should hightail it over to the July girls but I like you people and I'm staying here. Especially as I am 100% sure of my dates so how they can say I'm 13+ weeks when I'm quite simply not I don't know! Must just be a big one (oh help...).

Annoying though, because my other two were very overdue, my dd was actually 19 days over and so having them start counting, and therefore pushing for induction, earlier will be a pain. Nevermind, long way to go yet.

olivo · 21/01/2009 15:49

hello everyone. Just back from my dr, she's signed me off for the rest of the week as the vomiting is totally overwhelming me. nO ketones whic his good. Been for my latest acupuncture today too so hope fully will have a bit of relief from that.
Have to go back on friday to do my pg notes and get me onto the system for scans etc. have had a stabby pain on my right side but gp is not too concerned as it is on and off, and no bleeding at this point.

I can't believe I've still got 3 weeks or so till i get a scan, the emotional side of the waiting is soooo draining, isn't it?

kitkatqueen · 21/01/2009 18:36

Thankyou picante.

cairns · 21/01/2009 19:16

Hi Ladies

Just back from my nuchal, all seems well at this stage which is great news, although they have moved from dates back a bit, which I am happy with as I was 12 days over with DS.

Re nuchals, not all hospitals do them or offer them, it just depends on where you are. Mine does so we get them on the NHS which is great. If you really want one and they don;t do it then you have to pay for a private scan, I guess it depends on your risk factors.

KitKatQueen and everyone. Thanks for the advice re bras. It is also interesting with the underwired ones. I am determined to get them fitted right this time. I am normally a B cup but went up to an E with DS. But this time I don;t seem to have changed much yet (strange!) 9 mths of pregnancy and 12 months of breastfeeding meant I was permanantly in those awful saggy non wired ones too where I just didn;t feel supported properly.

I too feel like I am a bad mum at the moment, still feel awfully sicky so I have a tendency of slobbing on the sofa while DS plays with his toys on the floor too (found a couple of cheap new toys tend to keep him amused for ages )

OonaghBhuna, have I already asked why you know it'll be a planned section? Can't remember, and TBH, too tired to trawl back through 31 pages!

How many posts does one thread take? Are we due a new thread as 2nd trimester approaches?

HeinzSight · 21/01/2009 20:17

Hi all,

So sorry to hear there's been more bad news.

LittleFairySmile, these thread go up to 1000 posts. It's a good idea to start thinking up a new thread name during the last 100 then posting a link to the new thread before it ends.

I thought that I was over the sickness stage but it's back again , bleurgh.

I was offered another section during my booking app but I'm going to try a VBAC. Seems like such a long way off, am sure it'll start flying by - eek!

anniecam38 · 21/01/2009 20:25

Evening ladies, would someone be kind enough to take me off the list as my journey on this thread ends here(sad)

Went for nuchal scan tonight and the consultant told me there was no heartbeat and i was measuring 9 weeks instead of the 12+ i should have been,so LO has been dead for 3 weeks. I am so devestated, feel like am in middle of a nightmare.

Good luck to the rest of you lovely ladies and your August babies X

LittleFairySmile · 21/01/2009 20:38

So sorry anniecam38
