Hello,

Hope everyone had good Christmases! Sorry to the ladies who've had bad news.

Well, over here sickness has raised it's groggy head this morning, once and for all. Husband took today off work, so we were going to have a nice day, headed out for a sandwich at our local cafe, and within 5 minutes of getting home, I was making friends with the toilet. Urgh. One good sign with this, I didn't get any sickness last time (I miscarried approx a week or two from where I am now), so I'm hoping this is a positive thing. Which makes me laugh, thinking that sickness is a good thing :-)

My stomach is a bit bloated too, but having lost weight over the last few days, I'm still fitting into my normal jeans.... for now!

Hawkmoth · 29/12/2008 20:44

I thought I was due 15th Aug, Doc said 2nd... will wait for scan obviously!

Will be my second, DD turned three at the beginning of December.

This one quite a surprise, but obviously really looking forward to it (though I had SPD and a very quick scary induction last time... hey-ho!).

lea1980 · 29/12/2008 21:50

I saw that about the grant but was assuming it would be for people on income support etc..i am very suprised at the government offering everybody money, must be a sweetner!!!
i have no symptoms at all, feel a bit bad really cos most other people seem to be suffering terribly! i had no real symptoms with ds though either, maybe ms for 2 days but that was it!!
im only about 6 weeks and feel as if im showing already..either that or im not sucking my belly in as much now im pregnant!! LOL!!

readyfornumber2 · 30/12/2008 13:05

Hi all
Not been on for a while as have been away for Christmas and just getting back to reality!!
I am 5+2 today and feel like crap! Not really feeling sick just tired and stressed (maybe due to 2 1/2 yr old ds lol)

I cant get to see the doc till 12th jan and then need to try and get in with midwife and it feels like an age away!

I had no symptoms at all with ds but am getting evening nausea this time, I havent actually been sick yet which is good I suppose

amelied · 30/12/2008 13:45

Hi Everyone - can I join you? I have been lurking around but not felt quite ready to join as yet. I have had two miscarriages in the past, the most recent being a mmc in August ending with a D&C. My DH and I were surprised to see that I was pregnant at the beginning of December as it had always taken well over 12 months for me to fall pregnant.

I am 8 weeks today, touch wood, and have a scan a week today. To say I am nervous is an understatement. I have had no real symptoms although somedays my chest feels like it is going to explode and is really painful.

My EDD, all being well, is 12 August 2009.

Has anyone taken baby asprin along their pregnancy or would recommend?

Anyway just wanted to say hi and hope all is well with everyone.

InspectorGadget · 30/12/2008 15:38

Hey I'd like to join in too waves

I had a m/c in June (the same week my mum died, total nightmare) and would have been due on christmas eve, so have just had the worst christmas ever!

However I found out a couple of weeks before christmas that I was preggers again and had a reassurance scan this morning, and we have a heartbeat! They make me 6+3 though, which is very odd as I make me 7+1, so am not entirely sure what my EDD is. Somewhere between the 17th and 22nd. Going back for a further scan next Friday so hopefully there will be a little more to see (they had trouble finding it this morning it is so wee)and maybe a little bit more accurate in the sizing/dating?

Am feeling quite pukey and want to bash OH on the head if he hugs me too hard (those puppies are soooore!) so I guess its all looking quite good.

So erm, hi everyone! I'm going to have a baby!! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

MichaelaS · 30/12/2008 22:29

welcome to all the new people, and hope all the scans that are booked go well!

BabyBump2B · 31/12/2008 00:34

Hi everyone!

Welcome InspectorGadget & Amelied!

Well I had my 2nd scan this morning and everything is fine Little bean was ready to be seen and was 165mm and heart rate 168. Ultrasound tech WAY nicer than the last one and she even gave me a print out!

Very thrilled and feeling very positive.

MS was so terrible yesterday but better today!

Zen good luck for you tomorrow - fingers crossed!

WeAreStardust · 31/12/2008 11:12

Hello everyone and welcome to all the new ladies!
I've been away for Christmas and to some extent also tried to not to think about things so much which has been easier with Xmas to distract.
However, I have some good news now - I went in for my scan this morning and everything seems fine! There is a heartbeat and the bean was size 7+1 (9.3mm) which is the correct size for its age! Very happy but also now quite worried - I feel like now that everything is ok what if I do something that will ruin things! So I will probably try my best to forget I am pregnant until 12 or so weeks! So may not be on here that frequently until then.
Olivo - I'm the same as you, apart from constipation and tiredness and slightly sore boobs, I haven't really got any other symptoms. I have gone off certain foods (sweet stuff mainly - and I have a massive sweet tooth!!!) and tend to feel a bit queasy in the afternoons but none of this puking up stuff! And I'm hoping now it will stay that way!
LittleFairySmile - Vivid dreams here too! Have had a few rude ones, which is probably because we've mostly abstained from sex (I'm a worrier), but then I don't really feel deprived when not asleep. Strange.
Happy new year to you all and hope this will be the year of many happy and healthy August babies!

fairygirl3 · 31/12/2008 11:13

hi all, well im glad im not the only 1 who has gave in & got some maternity jeans, although have lost a bit of weight my other jeans were digging in.the ms does not seem to have been as bad since wearing them.we were not going t tell anyone about the baby tll 12 weeks but ended up teliing them a few days before xmas.Mainly because i wanted the other children to know i wasn`t lying around napping, moaning & ruining their xmas being miserable for no reason. They were so pleased & have been really helpfull since, quite enjoying being waited on ha ha
wishing everyone a happy new year, thats if we can all stay awake to see it in !

Picante · 31/12/2008 11:16

Hi all - I've just come back from my early scan. I was so nervous as it was the same lady who gave me the bad news about my mmc.

When I saw the heartbeat I cried! I was so relieved. Measuring 10.6mm which is consistent with dates.

Celebrated by having a chicken and mushroom pastry!

Now going to get some decent jeans in the online sales...

olivo · 31/12/2008 12:14

great news, picante and stardust.

I'm feeling really rough - have got this really uncontrollable tiredness that i've never experienced. nearly fell asleep in a cafe with dd this morning. i've also gone off sweet stuff, and am eating really bitter things - got a penchant for nice sour granny smiths!!
fairygirl, i'm envious of you being waited on!
I can't believe how slowly thinga are going - i'm not even 6 weeks yet! but think i will go and see my gp next week so i can be passed on to the hospital. will maybe give me something to focus on!

OonaghBhuna · 31/12/2008 12:23

great news for those who have had scans.I am starting to feel better from the flu, it has been a really rough 2 weeks. I have been feeling sick pretty much all the time aswell and I am off all food, I dont feel hungry and even when I eat it doesnt make me feel any better which is so different from before. My bump is huge! Luckily still fitting into normal clothes.
Happy New Year to all

lea1980 · 31/12/2008 12:27

olivio..i know what you mean about things going slowly!! im only 6 weeks too...i went to the gp 2 weeks ago, made an appointment to see mw on january 9th, and still havent received a letter about a scan date (bloody christmas getting in the way!!) mw appointment seems an age away.
im waiting by the front door to snatch the mail out of posties hands every morning waiting for my referal letter!!!
my pregnancy with ds seemed to fly by..maybe im impatient this time..knowing that all the best bits are still to come!!
congrats to all those having great news from early scans!!
Happy New Year to everyone

bratnavipoddslitecuddlytoy · 31/12/2008 13:17

Hi ladies, can I join too? I had a BFP 2 days ago, but no idea when I am due yet, maybe August, maybe the start of September, I may need to move over later.

Does anyone know how long it generally takes to get a dating scan?

Nice to be here, I wasn't expecting to be in an antenatal club so soon, I thought it would take months of TTC

bratnavipoddslitecuddlytoy · 31/12/2008 13:21

Oh, and this will be DC3 for me, but my first with DP, we also have DSD from DPs first marriage, so this little one will have 3 big sisters (poor thing)

zen1980 · 31/12/2008 13:55

hi everyone, well scan went good today even saw a heartbeat which was such a relief!! They dated me at 6+3 which has set me back about a week and half but nevermind still moving forward. mw did say that there was a little separation at top of sac which is nothing to be majorly worried about just to take it easy and thats where bleeding is from. Feel quite relieved just have something else to think about now, but if it wasnt that it would be something else. They gave me date for next scan which is feb 3rd which is an age away but at least i know that 2st trimester will be more or less over. So heres to the New Year and a fly by January!! x

BabyBump2B · 31/12/2008 17:05

Zen & Picante Congrats on the scan - such a relief to see the heart beating isn't it?

Welcome bratnav!

I just realised there is a typo in my length its 16.5mm not 165 - ooops!

Anyone else have cravings yet? I am obsessed with cucumber and avocado!

babylanguagelearner · 01/01/2009 09:46

hello ladies and happy new year
like a few of us, am just back from a bit of time away with the in-laws for Christmas so have not been on for a while. Lovely to see all the new joiners, what a long list we have!

Nothing to report really, am just checking in. All still going well with me as far as I know, which is to say that I feel completely normal and still don't have any symptoms at all except wanting an early night to bed every night. Am 8+2 now, and if it wasn't for the early scan I had before Christmas showing me a little bean and heartbeat, I would really be beginning to doubt that I am truly pregnant.

thrilled that January is now here, as my official 12 week scan is on 30 Jan so at least it is now within the current month!

To those feeling sick and throwing up, I am really sorry to hear that and you might be cursing me for all my "I don't feel any different" talk!! But hopefully you can take some comfort that at least your body is sending you clear signals that something is really happening

hope you all have a great day

HeinzSight · 01/01/2009 12:47

Happy New Year!

BabyBump2B · 01/01/2009 16:11

Happy New Year! Here's to becoming mummies (again for some of you) in 2009! xoxo

babycat · 01/01/2009 16:23

Happy New Year everyone! I'm that some of you have already had scans or at least have an appointment for them. I've not even heard from a midwife yet. Think I'm 8 weeks now. Saw the doctor 2 weeks ago & was disappointed as he just took my word for it that I was pregnant & didn't take bloods, just did my blood pressure as I said I was feeling dizzy. Still feeling sickly & tired but starting to get a cold so not sure how much is due to that. Had a tiny amount of brown blood one day last week but nothing since apart from some yellowy discharge (sorry if tmi). So scared that when I eventually get scanned there won't be anything there! Told family our news on Christmas Day but have not told friends or work yet. Feeling frustrated at the moment, want to get excited but can't allow myself to yet.
