Sorry to hear the bad news bluesatinsash . Must be hard after your body has tricked you to think all is ok...

2HotCrossBunnies · 22/12/2008 16:25

Hello ladies. I've been very busy so haven't had the time to post. I think I've caught up... sorry to hear Bluesatinsash's and Ilovebeingmummy's news. Also welcome to all the newbies - seems like such a long list I am never going to keep up with who everyone is!

Not much to report - both my nanny and my husband had the dreaded lurgy last week. I and the boys managed to escape it although DS2 has about 10 new teeth in the last 2 weeks!!! I'm generally a bit bleeurrgghh but not actually sick and exhausted! I'm off work now until Jan so that's great. I've had my booking in with the midwife but despite stabbing at my arm she didn't manage to locate a vein so no bloods were taken. I'm going down to my local surgery on Wed am (with the children!) to try again...

DH is slowly getting more used to the idea and is less negative about 3 kids than he was. I don't think they pay much attention until much nearer the time - prob doesn't feel very real to him.

Hope everyone has good xmases - the stickier the better!

7+2

Beccylt · 22/12/2008 16:26

bluesatinsash - so sorry to hear that.

Hope everyone else had a good weekend and is getting set for xmas. Feeling completley shattered (although not sick!) and not looking forward to cooking xmas dinner for 11(!) - althoght all close family know the news so hopefully they wont excpet too much!!

DS (who 16 months) will be getting spoit rotten no doubt!

Any of yous plannng on sharing the news on xmas day??

LittleFairySmile · 22/12/2008 16:29

bluesatinsash sorry to hear that.

anniecam38 · 22/12/2008 17:16

Bluesatinsash I am so sorry to hear your sad news.. Take care of yourself.

BabyBump2B · 22/12/2008 18:17

Oh Bluesatinsash I am so, so sorry. I'm thinking of you.

Well today is my first day back at work after 10 weeks off for pneumonia. And of course the ms is terrible. Picked up some seasickness bands which seem to be helping but trying to hide them from everyone.

Had an absolutely hideous dream last night that I miscarried and although there was no blood there was a sac with a little baby in it and an umbilical cord. Woke up beside myself - still can't shake the feeling of it.

Beccylt - we're telling both families at Christmas - am just hoping we're not jinxing ourselves! But I can't wait for it to be christmas so I can get it all over with!

WeAreStardust · 22/12/2008 18:31

Some good news for me - surgery got doctor to ring me and he will do referral letter for EPU scan for me! Yay!
Will leave it until after xmas though as want to make sure that I'm far enough gone so if there is heartbeat it can be seen. I'm thinking on the 2nd Jan I'm still off work so can go without anyone knowing and then i'll be 7+2.
(I told the doc I was "6 weeks or maybe 7 not quite sure about the dates" as I was worried if I'd said "6 on wednesday" he may not have referred me ).
Is anyone else feeling a bit sick after they've eaten? I had this today - lunch was way overdue and I felt ok (just a bit faint) before I had it but then felt rubbish afterwards!
We've told no-one yet - just DP and I are in the know! We're going to keep it quiet until we know things are likely to be ok (ie. end of 1st trimester) to tell inlaws. My parents live abroad and I want to tell them in person, but probably won't see them till easter, so will be 20ish weeks by then!! Imagine the shock!

OonaghBhuna · 22/12/2008 19:33

Blue satin sash- I am so sorry please take care of yourself over Christmas and New Year.

Welcome Leah.

I have the worst flu ever, sore chest cough, shivers, high temp, sore limbs, sever headaches and a cold. Went to the doc, he said there was nothing he could do and basically said I mustnt be that bad if I was able to get myself out of the house for the app! I have been unable to look after the kids, DH has had to take annual leave to look after them.
So of course I went on to google to see about flu and fevers in the first trimester. So I am not doing that again it really upset me.Have been tearful all day.

zen1980 · 22/12/2008 20:52

Hi everyone, Bluesatinsash so sad to hear your news
wondered if anyone could give me some advise themselves. We ended up at a&e on saturday as the spotting hadn't stopped had my bloods done, and and internal to check neck on womb was closed and bleeding was not from there all good signs. However, docs said that hormone level was slightly low and would repeat today and do an early scan.
So today had scan, they can see sac is in right place to rule out etopic, but cant see yolk as they think its too early on.We make me 6 + 4 but they are thinking more 5 weeks. Bloods came back again and the hormone has increased but not exactly where they like it, so back again weds? Has anyone had similar and then gone onto normal PG,am going out of my mind at the moment and cant even start to think about Xmas until some more positives?

BabyBump2B · 22/12/2008 21:24

Hi Zen - what happened to you is really similar to what happened to me. I thought I was further along but they set me back a bit. I had to have 3 hcg tests before they were happy with the levels. I'm obviously not through the pg yet but just had my first vomit ms experience so I'm guessing levels are getting even stronger.

There are several threads about low hcg numbers and people who went on to have normal pregnancies - try to hang in there!

nandos · 22/12/2008 22:36

Bluesatinsash, am so sorry for your loss [huggss] hope you will recover soon. If you need a chat, do drop by and we will be here for you..
take care of yourself for now k..

oonaghbhuna, hope you get well soon from the dreaded flu..

zen, fingers crossed its gonna be just fine..might just be a little off date.
my 1st scan showed 6+3 days where else i should be 7wks but she said its just a few days offset n should be fine.
i really hope its good news for you in the next scan..

Uki · 23/12/2008 10:43

Sorry to hear sad news Bluesatinsash- take care, you will be lucky again.

Zen sounds worrying, i hope it's ok, it's good news that hcg is rising. not at all what anyone wishes upon anyone, I never had tests like these to find out if i was mcing, probably makes you even more on edge hugshave you stopped bleeding?

I'm not sure i'll be back on over christmas, so wishing you all a very lovely Christmas fgrin]

those of you telling, how exciting...

right i'm off to bed, almost less than one sleep left for us in Oz

nuttygirl · 23/12/2008 12:19

Sorry to hear your news bluesatinsash. Take care of yourself x

Won't be on much over xmas and new year as really busy with family and stuff.

Just finished wrapping last few presents. Need to get packed for going to parents for Xmas but I'm exhausted. I could sleep all day if I had the chance!

Think we've sorted stuff with ILs. They constantly criticise how we raise dd (what she eats, when she goes to bed, etc.) but also criticise SIL who does things the opposite way to us so we feel they're just being nasty rather than actually have any real opinions. Anyway think we've sorted things but not looking forward to visiting them at New Year.

Right dh on his way home for lunch so best go!

Merry Xmas to everyone.

HeinzSight · 23/12/2008 13:22

nuttygirl, good luck for your visit to PIL New Yr!! They sound like a nightmare

We're off to see Santa in a bit.

olivo · 23/12/2008 20:29

evening everyone. zen, good luck tomorrow, will have my fingers crossed for you.
like many of you, i feel so helpless at this stage, wondering will it, won't it. being off work for the holidays has given me too much time to think about it too!
in case i don't get back on over christmas, merry christmas everyone .

anniecam38 · 24/12/2008 08:20

Good luck for today Zen,hope its good news.
Well i wont be on here for next few days as busy with Christmas, hope everyone has a happy and problem free time X

SpecialOffer · 24/12/2008 08:52

bluesatinsash - so sorry for you news, look after yourself over Christmas xxx

Well its just me and ds over X-mas as dh has to work, but we plan to have fun! We won't be opening all our presents tomorrow when he gets home. I don't have any family near by and all my friends have family over, so it will be a quiet one, alcohol fee as well!!!

Well all my pg symptoms went, cue me freaking out, spoke to my midwife, sho said it is probably all fine, and that I am one of the lucky ones..... well they have now come back, so am feeling a bit more relaxed about it, even though I am feeling sicky!

Booked my 12 week scan for 20th Jan - so long away.......

Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas

you lucky things - mine won't be till the middle of feb!
am really struggling today - dd has been up for the last 3 nights, and for some reason, cigarette smoke is making me feel really sick, so town was a nightmare!
still, have been praying for these symptoms so shouldn't complain!

2HotCrossBunnies · 24/12/2008 13:31

Afternoon ladies. Hope all are still well (as can be expected!).

DH kindly came home whilst I went to the local GP for my bloods to be done. Didn't even get as far as the needle - apparently the blood group one has to be done at the hospital clinic, the surgery doen't hold the correct bottles. So waste of time for me and DH. All of the info should be on my medical records anyway seeing as I have been through this twice before. At the moment feel like I can't be bothered with the "system" iykwim.

On a positive note I have had my date through for my scan on 22 Jan. We have a wedding on the 24th so I'm pleased we will have had the scan by then.

Hope everyone is ready for xmas - I have a lot of wrapping to do tonight, it's not safe to put presents under the tree before xmas eve!! DS1 is very excited about Father Christmas coming and leaving a drink and a pie for him

Merry xmas all xx

TaleofTwoCities · 24/12/2008 18:04

Hi everyone, happy Christmas to you all. Sorry haven't been on here for a while - just busy busy with everything!

Bluesatinsash - sorry to hear your news and Zen, am keeping fingers crossed.

Glad to hear that I'm not the only one feeling increasingly poorly. Have been sick twice now and feel like my whole life revolves around what to eat and drink next in the attempt to feel better!

2HotCrossBunnies - my scan is on 22nd Jan too - 4 weeks to go and counting.

Dh is slowly adjusting still to the idea of 3. The midwife has 3 children and said that her 3rd was a surprise too but 'the icing on the cake', so that was nice.

Hope everyone enjoys the festivities and breaking the news for those that are doing that.

zen1980 · 24/12/2008 18:11

Merry Christmas Everyone!!

We had an early Xmas present today, had to wait from first thing this morning until the afternoon for the midwife to phone, but good news. My hormone level has gone right up and doubled since Monday so on track for an average level. So far for now back on track and feeling a lot better about it, felt quite sick today too which is a good sign. Am booked for an internal scan on New Years Eve, so hopefully a little bean will put in an apearance as I will be another week on!! Thanks for all your wishes and thoughtsx
