Morning ladies!

Great news about your scan BumpvLump! wearestardust - I had sporadic brown bleeding before my mc (between 5-8 weeks), phoned EPAS and was poo-pooed as it is so common and even I wasn't too concerned as heard brown blood was just old period blood. Only when it was gaining momentum did they scan me and confirmed a MMC. I had three episodes of bright red blood with DS and well I have DS! To summarise I would get ANY bleeding checked out.

My booking in is on 8th January when I'll be 10+5 so realistically won't get my '12' week scan until about 14 weeks but EPAS are phoning me on Monday to arrange early scan due to last time. V. v. nervous but trying to be positive and I've at least made it to 8 weeks (today) - yay!

Got a mad busy day ahead, lunch with friends in Edinburgh then gazzillion presents still to buy (including wrisbands for me

Sticky and non-sicky (if only!) thoughts to all x

bluesatinsash · 20/12/2008 08:54

Sorry MarksandSparks x-post. Great news about your scan! I'm still waiting to exhale...

hello everyone. may i tentatively join you please? I have been lurking for the last 2 days after getting my bfp - AF was only due today so don't want to get my hopes up but since i've been sick as a dog and dizzy since the start of the week, it'd be good to have someone to worry/grumble with!

Looks like my due date is 27 or 28th Aug. i have one dd who will be three that same week!
Nice to see some names i recognise here

Beccylt · 20/12/2008 22:28

HeinzSight · 20/12/2008 22:57

nandos, sorry you're still suffering. OK my tips for nausea are, eat little and often, eat a biscuit or cracker in bed before you get up, suck boiled sweets, sips of full fat coke and those accupressure bands! Hope you start to feel better x

congrats olivo and Beccylt

babylanguagelearner · 21/12/2008 08:53

hi all
hope everyone is well (sorry for those feeling sick, sounds miserable). I had my first dr appointment (am in Australia, so different system here ...) on Friday and all looking well and I finally believe I'm "legitimately" pregnant! my lack of symptoms was making it all rather hard to contemplate as being for real. We were lucky enough to see the baby's heartbeat which was the BEST feeling. My dates were totally wrong and it seems I am joining Oonaghbuna and Lyra75 with an EDD of 11 August, making me 6 + 5 today. Had thought I was at least a week further along than that, but hey ho, can't do anything about it but WAIT!

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend. It is sunday night here, so tomorrow will seem we are on the home straight for Christmas day, getting myself ready to share the baby news with family on Christmas eve. I sort of wish I could keep it secret a bit longer but it will be nice for them to get the happy news at Christmas, plus will be too obvious anyway

'bye for now!

OonaghBhuna · 21/12/2008 10:52

Welcome Babylanguagelearner! Where abouts in Oz are you? Wish I could be there enjoying the sunshine
I have gastric flu, my chest is so sore and I cant stop coughing which is making me wretch. I cant believe I have this on top of the pregnancy, I am fit for nothing and my two dds have been watching too much tv because I dont have any energy.
I also do not feel ready for Christmas, thank goodness big sis is cooking!

babylanguagelearner · 21/12/2008 11:08

thanks O, so sorry to hear you are so unwell that is just not fair when you can't take anything to help. Am in sunny Queensland. It's our first Christmas back here after 4 years in UK so it is bizarre to be having a hot Christmas again, maybe that is why I can't really believe it's only 4 days away. But on the other hand, DS turned 1 last month so it's a lovely to be looking forward to xmas day with him (he was just a newbie this time last year!), he is only grandchild so he will be the absolute centre of all attention

hope you feel better from your flu soon. Don't feel bad about DD's watching TV, whatever gives you some peace and rest time is what is important.

OonaghBhuna · 21/12/2008 11:16

It sounds like you will be having a lovely family Christmas.I have been to Queensland its beautiful.
DH will be back at lunchtime and I am planning to hide under the duvet

OonaghBhuna · 21/12/2008 11:17

or should I say Doona? instead of duvet!

suwoodolf · 21/12/2008 11:41

I'm just checking out for a week as off to my parents in France today. I might be around sporadically but they only have narrowband in France so its no fun! Good luck and lots of sticky vibes to everyone. Think of me tonight on the ferry won't you

Happy Christmas eveyone

Zorra · 21/12/2008 12:53

Hello lovelies

Hello Beccylt - my birthday is 20th August and I'm called Beccy Strange!

Everything ok here apaprt from my own paranoira - I had an early scan and midwife appt yesterday (8+5) because I work outside the country and I won't be around when these usually happen. Babba apparently healthy and happy, if at the small end of the normal spectrum. But I've been really worrying about not being sick - I'm really nauseous (and sick into my own mouth, sorry, SO TMI!)but not hardcore vomalicious, should I worry??

ANyway, after that little bit of nastiness I shall wish you all a happy day and head off to sleep on the sofa do my assignment.

OonaghBhuna · 21/12/2008 17:02

Zorra dont worry about not being sick with my last two pregnancies I wasnt sick just nauseous and very very tired. I was tired for 20 weeks though! The blooming stage never really hit me!
This pregnancy has been the hardest and I am only 6-7 weeks OMG

BumpVLump · 21/12/2008 18:33

Hey ladies,
Zorra I know what you mean about the 'sick in mouth' thing! Gross, but sometimes you just can't help it.
My MS did subside a little but is back with a vengence today and to make matters worse I am working tonight. Only the slightest smell can set me off and it is getting hard to explain it away. Thank goodness for all the sickness going round at the mo- at least people think I have some bug! Can hardly keep my eyes open...
Also will have to go bra shopping tommorow because squeezing my boobs into my normal bras is becoming a problem- OUCH!!

olivo · 21/12/2008 19:59

evening everyone. sorry to hear about people feeling so rough - although it makes me feel strangely reassured as I am only 4+2 and feel dreadful. i think i may have something on top of pg symptoms as i feel exhausted and weak and achey but i'm hoping an early night will sort me out.
my boobs are popping out of my bra already so time to dig out my old maternity ones from the loft and see if they fit!

WeAreStardust · 22/12/2008 09:09

Morning all, welcome to olivo and beccylt!
Pleased your scan went well MarxAndSparx. A bit of cramping I've heard is very common - I have the occasional bit of very mild AF like cramping.
cwtchy & bluesatinsash - thanks for your experiences! Good to have a bunch of experienced ladies here being a bit of a newbie myself! Especially great to hear an experience with a happy ending.
Zorra - surely being sick in your mouth something that doesn't happen when you're not pregnant? Everyone is different and some people don't feel sick at all. My mum had two daughters and has told me she never felt sick at all (although maybe this was as to not put me off having kids!!). Someone I once knew said she wasn't sick but she kept wretching/gagging. I don't think you need to worry about how sick you're feeling! And your scan shows all is ok too - great news!
I'm 5+5 today so a bit behind most of you - I've noticed aversion to certain foods (especially textures!) and feel queasy in the mornings and if I've not had anything to eat for a while. Hoping it'll get no worse than this!
As for the spotting I had last wednesday - nothing at all since (touch wood!) so hopefully it was just a one off. I'm going to assume everything is ok until told otherwise.
However will go to the surgery to pick up preg pack today so will see if I can apply a bit of pressure to have a scan after xmas.

bluesatinsash · 22/12/2008 12:57

Hi ladies,

Have bad news I'm afraid. Had slight bleeding yesterday and scanned this morning, they coudn't find a heartbeat . I'm devastated as had been feeling very sick this time round and that was reassuring me but it wasn't to be. Just letting nature takes its course and i'll maybe be third time lucky. I had DS and am blessed and lucky to have him.

Have a lovely and sticky Christmas everyone and good luck with everything x

WeAreStardust, it does sound like your spotting last week was implantation bleeding, v common, I've had it in 3 pregnancies.

olivo, I hope your early night has helped and you're feeling better, fingers crossed your symptoms are 'just' pregnancy ones and you haven't got this dreaded bug going round.

I've done my Christmas food shop with the help of my DC, hopefully that's me done for the week, really don't want to go back!!

Was feeling pretty queazy round the shop but couldn't say anything to my older boys as they don't know yet, we'll tell them after my nuchal scan. They're going to be SOOOOOOOOO shocked!! As am I still!

olivo · 22/12/2008 13:13

oh, bluesatinsash, i'm so sorry to hear this. take care of yourself.
