HeinzSight · 14/12/2008 21:16

thoughtforms, congrats on your BFP. When's your due date? My DH's birthday is 31st Aug, so this LO should be here before then!

cairns, I wore those travel bands when I was pregnant with DS2, they worked brilliantly. Maybe a white lie about having a hangover or something for your aunt etc.

anniecam, sorry you've had a scary day today, am keeping everything crossed for your scan tomorrow.

I'm still getting over this rotten cold, been feeling v sorry for myself!

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Yay Laksa, great to hear from you!! Keep in touch!!! x x

thoughtforms · 14/12/2008 21:27

Thanks HeinzSight - oops, forgot to say - 22nd August, according to the BBC Planner (though I'm sure my doc will tell me a week beforehand, as happened last time) - hopefully I'll find out in the next couple of days!

babylanguagelearner · 14/12/2008 22:06

hi all, and welcome & CONGRATS to new bfp's who have joined.

anniecam I hope you will get some sleep tonight. My friend had several episodes of bleeding in the first trimester which was of course very scary and stressful but all turned out grand with her healthy little boy born last month. Have everything crossed for you, and for the others who have had a few scares.

Still fairly symptom free over my way, but I have at least used the phrase "now that I'm pregnant" with DH once or twice, so my brain is finally letting it sink in .... also have had some feelings of (very very) slight nausea if I leave it too long between meals so taking that as a good sign.

DH and I went to shop on the weekend to stock up on some bubbly and other drinks for the christmas celebrations (which we are spending with DH's family) - found some non-alcoholic wine and bubbly but alas have tried the red vino and poured it straight down the sink. Tasted dreadful! So much for my cunning plan of fooling the family for a few days longer

here's hoping everyone has a good week, it really is one day at a time with this isn't it, but yes I can tell people from my experience it does get better in the 2nd trimester!

cwtchy · 14/12/2008 22:22

Hello to everyone! I haven't been very active on here - I've been so tired I've been going to bed with DD at 7, so that hasn't left much time for MNing. Hope all those feeling sicky are coping and all those who aren't are managing not to worry!

Good luck to Babybump and anniecam for blood tests/scan tomorrow. Here's hoping it's good news all round

Right I'm off to bed. Ooh 10.20 I'm up late, I'm living life on the edge, me

nandos · 14/12/2008 22:38

Firstly congrats to those who just got their BFP and those who just joined us

anniecam, good luck with your scan tmr..

am 7 weeks tmr and my bbs are not sore anymore is that a bad sign? only symptom now is nausea on/off whole day..
also havent gain any weight since i found i am preg..
i just hope its not a problem and that i stop worrying cos' its slowly draining me

babylanguagelearner · 14/12/2008 23:17

hi nandos that happened to me when pregnant with DS, really sore bbs for a few weeks and then they stopped hurting and seemed to shrink a bit. But all was just fine. It is really draining isn't it, all the worrying, I found that too first time around, and in the end I had to just stop stressing and trust my body to send me a clear signal (ie, pain) if something was really wrong. hope this helps, I do understand how you feel though. x bll

suwoodolf · 15/12/2008 11:24

Hi everyone I am diving in too. I'm suwoo in my Christmas disguise. Did a test yesterday (day after DS's 2nd birthday) and it seems I am now 5+4 and due on 13th Aug. I have a DD who is 7 in March, DS who is just two.

Lyra75 · 15/12/2008 11:44

Hi everyone - thought I'd just see if there was an August 09 thread and there are 12 pages already!! I'm due 11th Aug, have DS who is 16 months old (will be 2 on the 5th of August).

Fingers crossed for all those who been having early problems. I had 3 lots of bleeding last time round and it was a very stressful time.

HeinzSight · 15/12/2008 12:07

Hi soowoodolf, how are you doing, have you got over your shock?

Welcome Lyra75, congrats to you, hopefully you'll have a less stressful pregnancy this time.

HeinzSight · 15/12/2008 12:08

anniecam, good luck for your scan today, fingers crossed for you.

suwoodolf · 15/12/2008 12:13

Yes, still keep forgetting momentarily! DH is getting over the shock and it helps that all his mates think he is super virile

HeinzSight · 15/12/2008 12:19

I PMSL @ him selling his sperm on ebay , we can be buddies sharing our shock! still can't believe it!!

suwoodolf · 15/12/2008 12:30

Your youngest is younger than mine too! Bet she doesn't sleep in your bed and wake up 5 times a night though like mine?

Lyra75 · 15/12/2008 12:52

suwoodolf - that sounds familiar - i've got a co-sleeping frequent waking DS. I've decided to pretend that the miracle sleep fairy will come and sort him out before next august.

suwoodolf · 15/12/2008 12:57

Yeah me too! I reckon baby will be in the crib and DS in the bloody bed!

MichaelaS · 15/12/2008 13:42

hello all, just looking in and fishing for sympathy. I'm feeling sick as a dog today, shooting pains in boobs and feeling like I have the hangover from hell but without the headache. I have heartburn, nausea, can't face food and am living on peppermint tea.

I know this is supposed to be a good sign, but think I might have to go home from work. Good job my boss is on holiday.

Hope everyone else is ok, how are you all doing?

Also sorry for moaning when some have much more worrying concerns - how is it going annicam, any news?

By the way, welcome thoughtforms and suwoodolf - looks like we're both due on 13 Aug! I'm seeing my doctor tomorrow to confirm pg and get set up with whatever I need appointment wise, so might get a different date then.

Well, enough moaning, pass another peppermint tea and i'd better psyche myself up for my 2pm meeting....

anniecam38 · 15/12/2008 14:40

Hello ladies-thank you so much for yor kind words. Had my scan this morning and was delighted when they said all was well and i have a little bean with a strong heartbeat!!. I was sobbing so much she had to ask me to keep still as was pushing the probe out(had internal scan). Apparently i have a haematoma-just a small one which she thinks the bleeding is coming from. Im so so relieved though i know its still a wait till the 12 week scan.

Welcome to the new ladies.

babycat · 15/12/2008 14:41

Had +ve pg test today. Think that I'm due about 14th August. Hasn't sunk in yet as had to have ICSI to conceive DD & didn't think it was possible for us to conceive naturally!

I'm very nervous about miscarrying as was at work on Saturday night (I'm a nurse) & was kicked hard on my pelvic bone by a patient. Also, a close friend has just had a miscarriage & I'm really worried about how I will tell her my news as she probably would've been due a week or so before me.

Started retching when cleaning my teeth last night which is how I was when I was pg with DD but don't remember it as early as this. Have been feeling sick all day, have stomach ache, headache and feel exhausted(think latter to do with lack of sleep). Hope these are all good signs that everything is going as it should be.

suwoodolf · 15/12/2008 14:41

I want the nausea to start really, its like a security IYSWIM.

anniecam38 · 15/12/2008 14:46

BabyBump2Be How did your appt go today? I really hope it was good news for you. Keeping everything crossed for you.

Hello ladies

Finally saw my doctor today (I work overseas and just got in for the holidays) and he thinks my EDD is 27th July but I am happy on August thread so I shall stay here!!

How's everyone going today? x

BabyBump2B · 15/12/2008 16:35

Wow - busy day today!

First off Anniecam I'm SOOOOOOO thrilled for you - your news is FAB! Glad you can breathe again!

I'm in Canada so I'm 8 hours behind you guys so I go for my test in an hour. Bit nervous but all my "symptoms" have come back and I feel more pregnant than ever. I believe its my body trying to reassure me! I also pulled out the calendar yesterday and did some reading and I realised that I have a 26 days cycle with a 10 - 13 day luteal phase which would mean that I could be as much as 5 days (which is what they said) behind someone with a 28 days cycle and a 14+ day luteal phase. So I could be exactly where I should be with this little bean!

A big pregnant welcome to babycat, thoughtforms & suwoodolf

I'll post back as soon as I have my results! xo

nuttygirl · 15/12/2008 16:36
