good luck babybump2be

cakesandchocolate · 15/12/2008 17:03

can I join up? Am PG with 3rd - after nearly a year of ttc and 2 early mc... so here's hoping it sticks!
Due 8th Aug.
Anniecam - Ihave a friend who had just the same thing happen, was told it was haematoma, carried on bleeding til about 20 weeks. She gave birth to a healthy 11lb (gulp)baby!
Nandos - do i remember you from a ttc thread a while back? I gave up on them as started to feel a bit too focussed on the whole ttc and it not happening!

anniecam38 · 15/12/2008 18:32

Welcome cakesandchocolate-heres to a happy and healthy pregnancy for you. What age are your DC,s? You must be so thrilled after TTC for a year. Are you planning to get an early reassurance scan or just waiting till your dating scan?
I was told by the sonographer that i may bleed on and off for a few weeks now,but i only need to go back if either it gets really heavy or i get clots. Roll on the next trimester thats all i can say!

Baby Bump2B,will check in later and find out how things went for you today.

cwtchy · 15/12/2008 22:30

Hello to all new people! Suwoodolf and Lyra - I also have a mild sense of panic as I have a co-sleeper who wakes 5-6 times a night. Think I'm just going to hum loudly to myself "La la la, it will all be fine..." Ahem.

Oh Anniecam that's fab news - that was great to read. I'm sorry though, I did laugh at your pushing the probe out!

BabyBump2B · 15/12/2008 23:19

Hi ladies! I saw my lovely Dr today (I adore him because he's (a) English and (b) his name is Dr Baby! ) and he has said no problem on the u/s in 2 weeks and he'll send me for 2 hcg tests so we can watch the increase and that should make me less anxious.

The lab tech was less helpful - she refused to fax over my results so I'll have to wait till tomorrow morning to find out!

Have decided positivity is the only way forwards! Loads of people have issues early on and go on to have perfectly fine pregnancies so that is what I'm hoping for. Fingers crossed!

cairns · 16/12/2008 10:21

Babybump2B - Dr Baby that is hilarious!! well that surely is a good sign. Fingers crossed for you that it will be OK

It sure is a different proposition this time around with having DC1 to look after (and ensure sleeps at night too)... still uncertain how we will all handle it. Someone told me it is easier 2nd time around as you know what you are in for... whereas the lack of sleep did come as a bit of a shock 1st time around (despite the helpful warnings!!)

MS back with a vengeance here. We are away for Xmas this year with the family skiing (1st hol in lots of years though before anyone gets ). I was really looking forward to it, I still plan on skiing but I am sure I will worry about falling hard and the MS won't help much either. I know I should be excited as it is our first hol for ages but I guess I can;t help but worry. Anyone else done anything quite active in early pregnancy before?

MichaelaS · 16/12/2008 11:07

anniecam, so glad to hear that your scan went well!! welcome cakesandchocolate

well all, turns out my sick feelings were not MS after all, i've had a horrible stomach upset and have basically been locked in the bathroom for the last 24 hours. Still can't face food but am managing water and mint tea, so trying not to get too dehydrated.

Went to see the doctor this morning and they didn't even bother confirming the pg, just explained the different options for birth (wow, that seems a long way away!) I've gone for the Royal London (in whitechapel), apparently the midwives come to my GP surgery for there, and also at 33 weeks if everything is going smoothly I can transfer to the Barkantine birth center that my friend helped set up - brilliant.

Happily I am allowed to go on holiday to Thailand at the end of Jan, when i'll be 11 or 12 weeks.

by the way cairns I wouldn't worry too much about going skiing, just make sure you take it easy. Are you going to be at high altitude? maybe you could go to the gym now so that you slowly build up skiing muscles and get your cardiovascular strength up - that way you'll be better able to cope with the thin air.

Uki · 16/12/2008 11:18

Hi

been away for a week, just been a short holiday and break with dh, as they fly him to melbourne for the company christmas party. we did lots of shopping, eating, catching up with fam and friends.

Cairns- my hol wasn't quite sking but just spent 5 days running and i mean running around the city catching trams, carrying 2 kids through the city, etc. i think if you are quite fit then a skiing hol should be fine, just take it a bit easier.

Annie- what a relief, great news, i'm soooo happy for you, i was quite scared reading your old posts.

cakesandchocs- welcome on bean no.3 here too.

zora- i guess you move up to no. 1 position congrat's

babybump- your dr. sounds good, here's hoping for high hcg numbers tomorrow

well I may or may not be back here, after tomorrow. i have scan to check all is OK, I haven't had anything dramtic happen, but after 4 mmc's I'm petrified, symptoms don't seem exactly strong though, boobs haven't grown since week 4, no ms, I actually wish i had ms, anyway i'm babbling....must think positive only 14 hours or so till scan

suwoodolf · 16/12/2008 11:25

Good luck with your scan uki, I just hate the insecurity of the 1st 12 weeks. How old is your co-sleeper cwtchy? We must be crazy!!

hencath · 16/12/2008 13:21

Hi all,

I am due 3/08/09 and it is my 1st pregnancy. Its so good to find this thread. Morning (more like all day) sickness kicked in over the weekend. Tic Tacs really work, I suck one if I feel the nausea creeping in. It also seems to calm the acid reflux too!!

Got my first midwife appt next tuesday...cant wait to get the scan booked as cant stop worrying about all the abdo pain I've been suffering with.

Good luck to all

bluesatinsash · 16/12/2008 13:37

Hi and welcome hencath and cakesandchocolate! anniecam - fantastic news re: your scan, we were all holding our breath there for a minute!

Uki - will be thnking about you tomorrow, sending positive, sticky vibes x

babybump - yay with the positive thinking! LOL at Dr Baby..

cairns - skiing sounds lovely and yes I am ! Just take it easy and no black runs ok? My fitness has been put on hold as I'm just in stealth mode trying to get to 12 weeks. Hope to go back to the gym in the new year.

I'm feeling sick as a dog and have to eat every two hours or am sick. I've never been good at feeling sick and would rather be sick than feel sick cue retching into loo until stomach lining is up - lovely.

Waves and sticky thoughts to all!

LittleFairySmile · 16/12/2008 14:26

Just checking in ? there is so much worry in these first few weeks, and I am sorry to hear about ilovebeingamummy. I do hope everything is going well for everyone else!

I?ve got my ms now (all day nausea ? not throwing up thankfully, but unrelenting feeling!). Perversely this is making me feel good (in that I am now a little less worried!).

Took a while to read through this list, you guys are prolific posters!

Had to laugh suwoodolf at your DH mates thinking he is super virile. Same happened here with DS, and my DH mates did a paintshop job on a picture of sperm putting my DH face on every one with the caption ?Super Sperm?.

Anniecam sorry to hear about your haematoma. Hope all goes well.

BabyBump2B LOL at ?Dr Baby?!

MichaelaS yikes over stomach upset. How you feeling now?

Hencath abdo/period pain can be ok. I have it on and off now, and I do worry, but have to keep telling myself it doesn?t mean anything!

BumpVLump how?s things?

FaeriePrincess how is your poorly DS?

I know I?ve not said hi to everyone directly, there are just loads of us!

hencath · 16/12/2008 16:44

Littlefairysmile,

Thank you for your advice. The pain is worrying me as it wakes me up at night too. I am sure I am probably worrying over nothing but will be relieved to know everything is going as it should.

The pain is intermittent and has been going on for two weeks now, although has been much less frequent in the last week. Feels like I am about to have a really heavy period- although have not had any bleeding. Obviously dont expect my period now as have had the BFP. Is this level of pain common? Sometimes it will be sharp and short lived (a few minutes) other times it will be crampy and last an hour or so.

Thank you all in advance for any advice.

HeinzSight · 16/12/2008 17:18

hencath, I had period type pains early on with all of my pregnancies and with each one I was CONVINCED AF was going to arrive. It's to do with things stretching etc. Wait til you get round ligament pain, it's a killer when you sneeze, it feels like someone has twanged an enormous elastic band in your insides

BabyBump2B · 16/12/2008 17:29

Ok... have just heard from Dr baby and my hcg number is... 12,483! Hooray! Late on Thursday night it was almost 4000 so this is perfect for 3 days later! Also it confirms that I am just gone 6 weeks, rather than 6+4.

I am so relieved!

Interestingly I found a due date calculator that takes into consideration your cycle length (26 days) and luteal phase (10days) and it told me that I was out by 4 days as well. Which probably explains why they couldn't see the fetal pole as I was 5+1 not 5+5!

Feeling so much better! Thanks for all your kind words ladies and welcome cakes&chocolate - this is a great bunch!

HeinzSight · 16/12/2008 17:38

SOOOO please for you BabyBump2B, don't we just heart Dr Baby!!!!

zen1980 · 16/12/2008 18:16

Hi everyone, wondered if i couls join? I got my BFP last week and have worked out i'm 5+ 5, and is my very first pg(fingers crossed will be a safe and happy one from now on). Was due at the docs in the morning to have have pg confirmed but made an emergency appointment for this afternoon as I started spotting. He said nothing to worry about and need to completley relax and poss have some time off work. So far have only had nausea, sore boobs and bit dizzy was wondering if this is normal? It hasnt really sunk in yet, have to drop a sample off and then can book midwife appointment. Is this normal what usually happens from here?

nandos · 16/12/2008 19:17

hey zen, congrats on your BFP
re the nausea, dizzyness, sore bs they are what most of us here seems to be having right now so welcome to the club honey
babybump2b, thats a relieve to hear bean is growing well.
cakesnchocolates, yeah am still in the ttc thread..my friends are there and they are the ones who went thru mcs arounds the same time as me..
hi to everyone else i've missed (waves to everyone)

thoughtforms · 16/12/2008 20:18

Well, the doc confirmed it this morning - 22nd August - and she remembered me from the last time (which funnily enough now I think about it, would have been the 22nd August this year, how bizarre!) when I confirmed my first pregnancy.

I was having some sickness yesterday, but today nothing - here's hoping that stays away!! Still, I stocked up on Holland and Barrett chocolate covered ginger (so it isn't too obvious) - and I've told people at work I wont be at the party on Friday - told some I was on antibiotics, so can't drink. Phew!!

Funnily enough, my doc said I was the second lady to register her pregnancy at the surgery today, so hopefully I'll make a local pregnancy pal!

Because I had a miscarriage the first time I got pregnant, I've been marked high risk - so I'll get an early scan. Hope that's soon, anyway... does anyone have any idea? I know when my 12 week one will be, anyway...! Fun!

OonaghBhuna · 16/12/2008 21:40

Hello there everyone. I had no symptoms at all yesterday or today so have been a bit worried. However have felt nauseous and really tired from about 6pm tonight.Boobs are still huge and really tender!!!

Positive vibes to everyone

cwtchy · 16/12/2008 23:17

Hello to all. Today I am mostly doing my best impression of not worrying, as my boobs have stopped hurting. I have decided that it is because I have stopped breastfeeding in the last 2 months and they are hardened to all these hormones floating round

Suewoo, my co-sleeper is 15 months. She has been an atrocious sleeper from day 1, tbh I hardly notice the night wakings now - which is why we thought we might as well have another now, cos we aren't sleeping anyway! I think we are being ever so slightly naive about this Are you planning on keeping up the co sleeping or are you going to devise a plan to get your bed back?

Uki · 17/12/2008 08:51

PHEW.....I'm back i think this is the lucky and fast growing baby thread,

i had my scan and 8 WEEKS TODAY

so now EDD is 29th July

heart heat was very fast 188 bpm, so all really good.

babybump- congrat's on your great news too, feels so much better to have some numbers i bet.

cwtchy- my first was a bad sleeper, but my second is brillant, but from day one i never fussed over him, like i did the first, i call it first baby fuss syndrome. my first dc has not learnt to go to sleep on his own, a very important skill, we keep working on it, but he is very attached to us.
do you have any other symptoms, try not to worry about boobs, it's meant to come back about week 8.

Zen1980 -WELCOME AND CONGRAT'S

suwoodolf · 17/12/2008 09:39

My 1st was a brilliant sleeper and slept through from 16 weeks- she is nearly 7 and has never woken . The 1st baby fuss rule certainly doesn't apply to me as I was very harsh with my 1st and as soft as shit (in DH's words) with DS. I have no plan that I think will be successful to get DS out of my bed- I'll just have to keep trying.......
No real symptoms here either, bit sickly in the evenings and I keep giving my boobs a squeeze to check still tender , nothing more to report though.

suwoodolf · 17/12/2008 09:40

Nice one Uki!!

babylanguagelearner · 17/12/2008 09:45

Fantastic news Uki that is really wonderful

and welcome & congrats to new BFPs who have joined, this is a great group and I'm glad I've found it!

no news from me ... just waiting for my dr appt on friday. Fingers crossed all is well!
