Hi all, thanks for the support and words of advice.

bumpvlump poor you, what a shock - but great to hear your little bean is sticking on in there. Havent had any experience of this myself but am praying everythign works out - I hear a lot of people have threatened miscarriages and go on to have a perfectly healthy pregnancy. ms is a good sign surely?

TaleofTwoCities · 12/12/2008 14:54

Hello all, glad to read all your news and see some new people!

Bumpvlump am keeping fingers crossed, great that your lo is hanging on.

Oh dear, as I thought last preg was 'the last' have just remembered that have given away most of the baby stuff. Think I'll be down the car boot sale for poor baby3!

Dh is a little better about it. At least he's confirmed he's not doing a runner. I've been feeling on and off a bit sick but still able to eat, so it's not too bad.

Have good weekends all. Back to my 2 little ones, we're off to the library.

BabyBump2B · 12/12/2008 16:38

Hi everyone...

Michaela - I think men can't really believe it until they get some sort of more scientific proof - as opposed to relying on wee to tell them whats going on!

bumpvlump - poor you. I hope that is the only bleeding you get this pregnancy!

Ok my turn to vent/worry. The pain in my left side got worse yesterday so I went to my Dr (who's fab) but he was worried and being cautious sent me to A&E. They did a blood test and my hCG was at 4000 which is good for 6 weeks apparently, and a pelvic exam where they found some dark bloody discharge (I haven't seen any bleeding at all). They're still not 100% so released us at 2am this morning (we were there for 9 hours ) and I have to go back for an ultrasound this morning.

Of course I have a bazillion questions - would this be a vaginal u/s or a normal one? And how much should I expect to see at 6 weeks? I don't want to freak myself out over something that is actually normal! I'm really worried...

ThePippy · 12/12/2008 19:16

Hi All

Thought I'd wander on over here now, as I got my BFP on Tuesday night. This is my first baby and I sadly suffered a missed MC back in September, so I am now pretty paranoid and probably will be until after the 12 weeks scan (which is when I found out my baby had died last time) but fingers crossed this time I will see a little bundle of joy wriggling about! I have my Dr's app on Thursday and I will be asking for an early scan as they said I would be able to have one for reassurance when I had the MC.

I am currently obsessing about the fact that I have less tender boobs this time and no other symptoms at all and have convinced myself that things are already going wrong!

It is going to be a long 8 week wait for that scan!

Anyway, hope you are all well. I have added myself to the list..

Evening everyone. I wondered if anyone could give me a bit of advice? I had positive test on Wednesday evening but have had niggling period type pains for about the last three weeks, has anyone else had these? No bleeding or anything other than humongous boobs, I vaugely remember having some aching first time round but not till a bit further on. I hope all is ok with you bumpvlump and babybump2b everything crossed for you both

Just popping on here to congratulate Heinzsight I was on your other thread and we said we'd keep eachother posted if it was a BFP but I somehow lost the thread on my ones to watch.

Well AF arrived for me which should have me relieved but I felt strangely disappointed...guess I am more ready for another than I thought

Oh, BTW dd was born on the 28th. I actually 'recognize' you from the sept postnatal thread but we are both namechangers...we even chatted briefly when we both suffered PND.

Good luck with your pregnancy and I hope you are feeling positive about another, it will be fine and great for your dd to have a sibling to play with

Sorry for hijack!!

SpecialOffer · 13/12/2008 07:43

Wow - how our list is expanding.

cheekymonkey I have had period type pains on and off and remember this from last time. I didn't find out I was pregnant with ds until I was about 7 weeks as I was so convinced my AF was on her way as I had bad pains!!

BabyBump2B - sorry to hear you had to go to the Drs, it seems good news that your hcg is so high. Let us know how the scan goes..... Hope it goes well. I think it will be a vs, and maybe you would just see the sac, not sure if there is a hb or not at this stage?

BumpVLump - Hope you don't get any more bleeding, that must have been wuite a shock. I have heard that there can be many reasons why some women bleed during pregnancy, so it is quite common.

Well I have had a manic week at work, this pregnancy is really weraing on me. I can't stop eating, if I do I feel sick, so I am forever reaching into my bag for another snack! I have gone off chocolate (booo) as well, so bang goes all of those X-mas treats.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

HeinzSight · 13/12/2008 10:54

thanks biskybat for finding me, I did keep looking at that other thread! Am also disappointed you're not joining me. Psst what was your name before???? Am intrigued!! Still CAN'T believe it, is funny now when I read through that other thread.

HeinzSight · 13/12/2008 10:57

BumpVLump, sorry to hear about your scare, am keeping fingers crossed for you. If it helps, I had loads of bleeding with my DD and she's now 14 months old.

bluesatinsash · 13/12/2008 13:33

Hi all and welcome ThePippy.

Just put the Christmas tree up and it smells divine .

Sorry to read about early scares re: bleeding and pain. As has been said bleeding is very common and most of the time nothing to worry about. I had bleeding with ds at 5+3 and was given internal scan and saw the heartbeat which was amazing. Unfortunately last time round I also had early bleeding and it turned into a mc but bleeding was more regular (browny 'old' blood which ironically reassured me, how wrong I was)and all my pg symptoms dissapeared which I think was more telling. This time around I'm going on my gut feeling on how things are but have to date had no bleeding (touch wood) and am feeling sick as a dog.

I'm going to update the list as ilovebeingamummy has had to bow out (I read this on trying for Aug baby thread)

Have a good weekend x

moosecat1 · 13/12/2008 16:01

Hi all. For those suffering with ms, Just bought some acupressure point bands - the ones for travel sickness. How amazing, I feel almost normal again !

HeinzSight · 13/12/2008 16:09

SO sorry Ilovebeingamummy, thinking of you

BabyBump2B · 13/12/2008 18:02

Hi All,

Thanks for the good wishes. Had 2 scans regular and vaginal - we could see both sacks (fetal and yolk I guess) but no fetal pole. They are slightly worried because by measurements I am a week behind where I should be. More blood tests on Monday to confirm hcg has gone up (it needs to be over 8000) and rule out early miscarriage. Then we'll schedule another ultrasound for 2 weeks from now.

I am so looking fowards to being 12 weeks I can't even tell you! Happy weekends everyone!

HeinzSight · 13/12/2008 21:51

BabyBump2B, have read lots of messages on hear over the years and it seems that scans are notoriously unreliable when it comes to dates. I had a similar thing with my DD, I had two scans, one day after another, and the first scan took a week away and the second gave me it back!! They were done by different operators on diff machines. HTH x x

HeinzSight · 13/12/2008 22:11

sorry everyone else,

biskybat psst, were you Laksa?

BabyBump2B · 13/12/2008 23:29

heinzsight thank you so much that really makes me feel better! Someone else told me that they were dated 2 weeks differently and still had a healthy pg so my spirits are lifting! xoxo

anniecam38 · 14/12/2008 08:54

Morning everyone,
BabyBump2B Keeping everything crossed for you, as heinzsight has said the machines can be notoriously unreliable re dates etc, i too have had a friend who was dated a week behind at one scan, then 2 weeks later got the extra week back!

Ilovebeingamummy-so sorry to read about your loss. Sending you big hugs.

Bumpvlump hope you're feeling OK and not having any more scares.

I was wrapping my DS christmas presents last night and was thinking,if everything goes to plan this time next year i will be wrapping presents for 2 DC,s instead of one..

biskybat · 14/12/2008 10:03

Heinzsight, you got it in one When I look back at some of my posts at around that time, it makes me quite

Oh babybump, heinz is right...these scans are sometimes completely wrong and cause so much worry.

Good luck everyone with your pregnancies, will be thinking of all of you come august.

xx

anniecam38 · 14/12/2008 13:09

BumpVLump · 14/12/2008 14:14

anniecan38 I am keeping everything crossed for you...

BabyBump2B · 14/12/2008 17:42

anniecam38 · 14/12/2008 18:08

Thanks for the good wishes BumpvLump and BabyBump2B. Ive had no more spotting since this morning but am having period type pains again, this had tailed off a couple of weeks ago. I just wish it was tomorrow and id had my scan,at least its in the morning,so not too long to wait.

Hope everyone else is okay. I will post tomorrow.

cairns · 14/12/2008 18:44

Fingers, toes and everything crossed for you anniecam for your scan tomorrow

Welcome to all the new ladies too

Well just back from a long weekend away at the MIL with the whole extended family. Word of warning re those travel sickness bands , yes they are great with ms but was a close shave letting the cat out of the bag to the whole extended family (have told close family) as an aunt saw them as we arrived and said oohhh I didn;t know you got car sick loudly..... They are great but suggest not wearing them with a 3/4 length sleeve top unless you want everyone to know

thoughtforms · 14/12/2008 21:10

Hello!

Just had a positive test, so all being well baby is due the day after my husband's birthday (though sods law says it'll be the same day, all being well).

I had a miscarriage back in early October (first pregnancy), so while I'm a bit nervous, I'm also very much of the take-things-as-they-come frame of mind.

It's weird, I knew I was pregnant, but couldn't place why or how. Thankfully Poundland do cheap tests, and the result eventually showed up today...!

Anyway, I just wanted to say hi, and "ooh crikey" and I hope the other ladies on this thread who are having problems have good news.
