LenniEd · 10/12/2008 20:36

GTDAB - I would guess at it being an infection but don't really know TBH. What kind of whiff (sorry to ask) - if it is a sweet smell could be your waters. Thrush maybe? Really don't know TBH, don't worry about asking though - might be worth asking in main pg topic too.

Could well be - I've got that horrible taste back that you get at the start of pg so am assuming that is caused by hormonal changes now we are getting near the end.

Glad you found that message in amongst all the lists - think I lost tallulabelles post in there somewhere. You can't be too far away now can you TB? Or Mel and Poor?

fymandbean · 10/12/2008 20:51

Well congratulations Looweeza and chefswife!

For those of you who read my post of a few days ago - went to midwife who sent me to hospital who promptly admitted me into the High dependancy unit on labour ward

FORTUNATELY it wasn't DVT and the leg went down again leaving me feeling a bit but having said that I thought it was DVT, as did the midwife and the doctor - he even went as far as to say he was surprised it wasn't .

Anyway I'm glad it was a false alarm. Now have DS with tonsillitis to deal with, DH out all evening and probably the busiest day of work tomorrow with the Christmas rush - yes of course i'll cope

fymandbean · 10/12/2008 20:52

oh and baby is breech....

off to search for moxtabustion or whatever it is you're s'posed to do.

Loweeza- Congratulations. My My, thats TWO with babies already, plus Heathersmummy on Monday.

Largeginandtonic- I too am hoping for a january baby, FAR too busy pre Xmas, plus, can't give birth in birthing centre unless make 30th December!!!

MsSparkle/Qumps - also been having Twinges. Am guessing part & Parcel of the final weeks?!?!

Hope everyone else well.....Am thinking that by the time i check this tomorrow morning i'm hoping we will have heard from Moosemama... perhaps with a a bit of news, as shes due jan 3rd.... so must be past 37 weeks now!!!

TALLULAHBELLE · 10/12/2008 21:08

That's a relief fymandbean. Shame about tonsilitis though.

Am 35weeks now, LenniEd & hosp not keen to let me go past 38 weeks so that should be end of Dec. Am hoping I go earlier in order to avoid induction but not quite ready yet, house a tip, bag half packed, & waiting to hear if will actually get my new bedroom furniture from MFI or not so can organise beds, cots etc.

Givethedog Are you just a bit sweatier, (could be hormones)or pg discharge. If not sore or itchy then wouldn't think an infection but thrush is quite common in pg - has a 'yeasty' smell & thick white discharge.

rrrayray · 10/12/2008 21:17

ps, in addition to TWO ladies on here, TWO ladies in my antenatal class have had early babies too!!!!!!!!!! !!!

fourlittlestockingedfeet · 10/12/2008 21:21

thanks Lenni. had just been vommed on by sicky DD so bit grumpy. off to read thread; didn't even 'see' chefswife pop! Congratulations! and to Looweeza too!

fourlittlestockingedfeet · 10/12/2008 21:23

gtab, sorry to hear that, hope it goes away; you can always try a bit of natural yoghurt.

qumps · 10/12/2008 22:19

lennied my whole body def smells different when i am pregnant. boobs smell funny from about 7 months when start producing milk, wee smells funny from start and def different smell down there. not a bad smell just a different smell. also get hyper sensitive nose though when pregnant and even the water coming out of the tap smells odd!
twinges stopped after bath so just bh again. take my breath away though they are so uncomfortable. had to lol when doc agreed that it must have been a man that said bh weren't painful.
about to have almighty row with dh (not so d). rang him at 7 to say having twinges so bad that friends suggested i go to hospital and not heard from him since. sent a text to say i was going to bed and he said fine talk tomorrow to which i sent back oh thought you might have been wondering how i was as i'm 8 months pregnant and having serious twinges. he then tried to ring which i ignored and then text to say he thinks that it is uncalled for and i spoke to him 2 hours ago. arghhhh!!! i am so mad. abou to write him an abusive email about how useless he is and has been all through this pregnancy and if he thinks i am ever having anymore children with him he has got another thing coming.

stripeywoollenhat · 10/12/2008 22:41

gtdab - i've been noticing that my sense of smell has got stronger over the last couple of weeks and as a consequence i feel really smelly despite best efforts - perhaps this is what's going on with you? also been feeling slightly nauseous again from time to time, fabulous pre-xmas timing, eh?

qumps - sorry about nasty BHs
fym - glad to hear it's not dvt

LenniEd · 10/12/2008 22:43

Qumps - I know exactly how it feels with partners this time round. My DH is also being far less supportive and I'm getting really hacked off with it. I had a good sob at the weekend and he remained unsympathetic think he thought I was just putting it on bloody men. Don't think we are alone though, know quite a few women who are fed up with lack of support second time round. I wasn't even pampered all that much first time but had AN depression so prob wouldn't have noticed anyway. Have tried getting cross about it but doesn't seem to get the message across. Have resigned myself now. From all accounts they get better again once the baby is here... here's hoping.

Hope you are ok there, and BH have eased off. Mine really painful too - weren't first time round, but this time they're like proper labour contractions, just the same as the early ones with pain all up my back and that cramping feeling in my pelvis. Reminds me far too much of labour with DD! Get yourself tucked up with some hot choccie and try and relax, and if in a couple of years you tell us you are thinking of another I promise not to remind you of your last sentence

qumps · 10/12/2008 23:01

just pressed send. no doubt i will wake up tomorrow thinking what have i done but at the moment i am so upset. am sure he will turn it into poor him he works so hard. why does god not make it possible for men and women to take turns with pregnancy?!

qumps · 10/12/2008 23:02

btw thanks for the support lennied. much appreciated.

tinkisabigpinksparklybauble · 11/12/2008 09:19

morning

35 weeks today

gtdacp - as long as u arent itchy i would think it is alright.
i get pains in my legs and night had the same when pregnant with dd

fymb - gr8 2 hear from u glad all ok apart from breech sorry for ds's tonsilitis

hi rray and lenni

qumps - sorry for mean dh

rrrayray · 11/12/2008 09:58

Qumps Am with your OH. This is how i was feeling a few weeks ago, but i am that he is being like it when you are having twinges. Sounds like he rather TOO relaxed Second time round. I'm sure you will have written things in the email which are OTT and you'll cringe today (i know when i had a chat with OH i felt silly the next day) but at the same time, thats WHAT you were feeling at that point in time. Plus, every single bloody book out there says how hormonal and Emmotional we are/should be right now.... I definately think your feelings are better out in the open that cooped up!! Hoping for a good response from him for you!!

Morning tink- 5 weeks to go, you must be Excited, i think i'm finally getting excited again. having been excited at the very beginning, and around 5/6 months, you sort of level off but i think i'm getting excited again, what with 2 of you popping, 2 of my antenatal class, and Christmas being just around the corner! Woo!

Fymandbean- very glad to hear not DVT.

Hope everyone else doing well... Still no Moosemama- Surely she must have babe in arms?!

missjackson · 11/12/2008 10:37

Morning ladies... Qumps don't blame you for being cross... oh men are so hopeless sometimes, they don't realise the power of a simple caring text at the right time, how easy they could make it for themselves! I'm sure he was just being thoughtless though.

I'm a bit knackered this morning as have now been out two nights running, trying to see people before I leave London next week. Tried to get a cab home from central London last night but everyone and their dog was out it seemed, and I ended up on the tube at midnight - which would have been fine until the guy opposite me puked. Luckily not on me.

Got to get a wax down there today before it gets out of control - hopefully that will see me through till B-day! Then off to visit a friend and new baby which will be lovely.

Hope we hear from MM soon!

tinkisabigpinksparklybauble · 11/12/2008 12:10

hi

have been to tesco and got my wispa, chat mag and fizzy cola bottles that is me sorted

morning rray not long now!! have just started getting excited again getting scared now too!! about having 2 and the birth!!

miss j - enjoy wax

TALLULAHBELLE · 11/12/2008 13:08

MissJ - gross on the puking. That would make me puke too. You are very brave going for bikini wax. I've had one and given birth once & although I'm about to give birth again, have never been brave enough for another wax down there!
