Miss J- i had wax a week or two ago, will have another one first week of jan, and maybe even a pedicure. i know its the last thing i'll be worrying about on the day itself, but it'll make me feel more "prepared."

Tinks- Loving choc, sweeties and mag. I seem to have to have AT LEAST a few Squares of choc everyday at the moment!!

fymandbean · 11/12/2008 15:42

...just a quick moan - now I have tonsillitis and a temperature, DS sick last night.... now me as in puke....oh why does it happen when you can't take any medicine!

qumps · 11/12/2008 16:01

well as you all guessed woke up feeling rather sheepish this morning. spoke to dh on phone which mainly consisted of me crying hysterically and him trying to think of the right things to say. bless him he got it full throttle and didn't raise his voice, just asked what he could do to be better and make me feel happier. he did say i tend to focus on the things he doesn't do and forget the things that he does (like a 6 hour drive instead of train to make sure he made it ds parents evening). felt quite bad this morning, and have been to waitrose to buy nice dinner. however he has texted 4 times today so some of it must have gone in. we are having a powow on the sofa tonight to put things right. agree rrayray that the reality of it suddenly comes back to bite you and while i am very excited i am also very nervous about c section and babys problems so think that is sending my hormones into overdrive. just want him to come now and know all ok.
have cancelled night away tomorrow due to bh. don't want to give birth on m4. gutted but think it is the most sensible thing to do.
yuck to all the puke!
gtdab i thought a show meant that birth was imminent? never had one last time or if i did i missed it.

HeathersMummy · 11/12/2008 16:19

Glad things seem to have settled down a bit for you and DH qumps, I'm sure you'll get everything sorted tonight.
I've been having loads of BHs the past couple of days and have gone into crazy nesting mode. DH had to almost forceably stop my from ironing at 11pm last night - I just felt like it had to be done. I'm hoping all the twinges will mean my cervix is favourable for Monday night's induction. I'm going between Christmas like excitement/anticipation and being totally terrified of what's to come. One thing for sure, this time next week it will all be over and the real fun of having a new baby in the house can start

qumps · 11/12/2008 16:25

wishing you lots of love and luck heathersmummy. have a great weekend and enjoy the last of the peace!

tinkisabigpinksparklybauble · 11/12/2008 17:45

gtdacp - the normal one that just writes in blue is fantastic so hoping that this one is as good

fymb - poor u take carex

qumps - sure it will sort out hormones are dreadful things

LenniEd · 11/12/2008 18:58

Sorry MsSparkle - think that was my fault, was trying to combine lists last night to get everyone back on and add the babies that have arrived but thought I might end up copying and pasting wrong somewhere along the line.

GTDAB - are you going to get bleed checked out? Are you about 33/34 wks now? Wouldn't worry about being here on your own, am sure at least some of us will go overdue and I'm not due until 13th so you could well have yours before me. Am 35+2 now, so not too long til out of the woods with being ok to breathe on its own etc and then I'm planning on getting out the raspberry leaf tea didn't dare before now with the evil BH I've been having. Thought I was about to start off again tonight, been in the bath though and feel a lot better for it.

Tink - I have bought one of those Aquadraws for DD after you recommended, the colour one also from Amazon. Let DD have it since her bday is 28/12 so gets too much in one go if we keep everything til xmas. Has kept her entertained, just what I need at the moment! Thank you

Fym - hope you are feeling better soon, you really are going through it at the moment.

Ginni · 11/12/2008 19:42

ouch at the wax! I tried to do my usual tidy up with my electric ladyshaver and ended up nicking something (a pile maybe!?!?!) and was covered in blood, so i've decided i'll have to be hairy until baby is here and i'm less swollen.

I was wondering, are most ladies on this list having bh contractions by now? I'm 37 weeks tomorrow and still don't think i've even had one yet, is this normal?

Congratulations to the two ladies who have already given birth, I wonder who will be next!!

newmomma · 11/12/2008 19:47

Hey ladies,

qumps hope you have a nice night in tomorrow with your dh. i'm sure you'll work it out - we've all had 'hormonal' moments. don't blame yourself, hun.

On the home stretch now - next friday is my last day at work. Hooray. Has anyone else found work in the last stages to be mega stressful? I am literally counting down the minutes - was still at work past 8pm last night...

Also got some news that my baby may be breech or back-to-back. He's really uncomfortable at the moment so being at work and trying to do the job of three people isn't helping.

Does anyone have some good news about how late babies can turn into the correct position? I'm 35 weeks on Saturday but the midwife wants to check me out on Monday and if she can't decide - send me for a scan the week after. I'll be 37+ weeks then...

Also - the enormity of the whole situation has finally hit me. I mean its not just a pregnancy, its not just labour and decorating a nursery... It's for the rest of my life. The responsibility of it all has suddenly hit me and it's started to freak me out a little. Anyone out there in the same position? Or who can offer some words of encouragement... "It's all worth it"... etc

Sorry for the moan.

LenniEd · 11/12/2008 20:10

Hey newmomma - definately all worth it, 120% guaranteed. It is hard work, and the responsibility takes a bit of getting used to but you will get used to it. In fact, I can't really remember now what life was like before DD arrived. All I can tell you is that despite her having been a very difficult baby and DH and I having had serious marriage problems in the early months as direct result of her arrival, since the moment she was born she's been the absolute love of both our lives. We both adore her, and as much as I loved my life before she arrived I only wish we'd had her earlier since she makes every tiny thing seem so much more worthwhile. Every day she melts me with one thing or another.

It is difficult to adjust and the early months of sleepless nights, endless feeding etc can seem overwhelming, but you will very soon be rewarded with smiles and laughs and before long your baby will be a walking and talking toddler and you'll be longing for another

TALLULAHBELLE · 11/12/2008 20:39

Ginni if it's your first it's very common not to have any BH's. I have had them this pg but none at all first time round.

Newmomma Still time for breech baby to turn. Have you a gym ball? Sitting, bouncing, rotating hips supposed to help get baby in good position. Have you looked at this site. As for back to back, I was told DD was back to back the day before she was born & that it would mean a prolonged & painful labour. She was born within 3 hrs of me getting to hosp, on G&A only & had obviously turned, though not completely, as head came out sideways rather than front on IYSWIM. And it's perfectly normal to freak out at the enormity of it all - more worrying if you hadn't realised this is for life! And it is worth it but can take a while to get to that bit. For me was a good few months in before I started to enjoy DD. First 3 months seemed ages at the time but looking back, was the blink of an eye, and with every new stage I think it just keeps getting better. HTH

Spink · 11/12/2008 21:57

newmomma so so so so so so worth it. like the others have said, it is hard work at times and a big change, but an incredible one. Don't worry too much about baby positions yet - my baby was breech and then shifted just in time for my mw appt at 35 weeks. She told me that they don't worry about it at all til 37 weeks, and that even then babies change position any time. The spinningbabies website can give you ideas for positions to sit in etc if you fancy helping your baby to get into a better position.. sounds like you're feeling a bit squished generally at the moment, too, so some pampering yourself seems to be in order! take care of yourself. it is a really odd time, isn't it, this last bit.

gtdacp you're sounding very calm and collected about your show-y thing! I'd be dreadful and read all sorts into it if I were in your shoes so I'm very impressed!! you having any other signs that things are gearing up?
btw lol at an image I got in my head of you after your disinfectant withdrawal post, of you on hands and knees inhaling the fragrance of a freshly cleaned toilet...
if it makes any difference, I think I whiff at the mo and hope it is just an oversensitive dog-nose and slightly different body smells from hormones. when it comes to discharge, a good indicator is the colour - you only really need to worry about nasty infections if it you have yellowy green stuff, I've been told!

heathersmummy hope your weekend is relaxing and you have plenty of time to make final preparations to meet your baby. And very good luck for Monday. Yay!!

qumps hope you had a chance to talk things through with your dp and are feeling more looked after. dh admitted that he can feel left out by everything that is happening between me and our baby already, even before birth, and that a combination of that and the fear of how we will manage can make him distance himself from it all at times. maybe something similar happens to your dp.. I guess it must be a weird time for them really

fym poor lady, you're having a rough time. hope it passes really really soon.

tinkisabigpinksparklybauble · 12/12/2008 08:29

morning -

i am getting scared gtdacp panacking about having 2 of them as dd is already a livly handful

largeginandtonic · 12/12/2008 09:36

'Man up' Tink tis only going to be 2 of them

One hand for each, i need to be a blinkin octopus.

Newmomma my last 2 babies have been breech, one turned at 37 weeks and other at 39 and a half I had my section booked for my due date so missed it by a smidge!

Get on the spinning babies website and read up on Breech babies. Hopefully the little on will turn but is wort doing some research before you get called in to see consultants.

Hello everyone else, have been mega busy the last couple of days and should really be wrapping presents right now. Christmas is coming!!! So fast.

Am 36 weeks on Monday and i just can't believe it!

largeginandtonic · 12/12/2008 09:37

GTDAB baby #5 for me was due 13th Jan and did not arrive till 27th Jan, i will be here!

rrrayray · 12/12/2008 09:45

Qumps its normal to be hormonal, we've all had our moments. Glad your having a nice "pow-wow" with OH. Always best to have things out in the open than bottled up.

Heathersmummy nesting happening here too, but TRY and have a relaxing weekend before the big day on monday- how exciting for you!

Newmoma i was back to back a few weeks ago. it didn't take much at all to turn her to ROA. Birthing ball for a bit, don't sit with knees higher than pelvis (ie, no bucket seats/sunken couches) and Crawling around on All fours. Apparently? I only did the birthing ball thing and she turned! I don't have any experience with breach, but that said, i know people who have turned their babies right up until the end- some swear by reflexology? Maybe give that a whirl!

Ginni- i had some BH a few weeks ago, but i havent had anything since, First timer here too. OUCH at nicking yourself and blood everywhere, sounds horrid.

gtdab/qumps - Apparently a show doesn't always been labour is imminent, as apparently we can mistake them (i guess for heavy discharge), but its just one of the list of things to look out for.

rrrayray · 12/12/2008 09:47

largeginandtonic - So am i right in thinking this is DC 6? Wow!!!

Spink · 12/12/2008 10:26

morning
I've done a belly cast of my bump! very odd seeing a 3d representation of your belly instead of seeing it just in a mirror or photos... tbh it is a bit jabba the hut but I am sure I will grow to love it!!! Plan is to decorate it with ds's help and his handprints, as a pressie to his new bro/sis.
And it was great fun to do, too, a friend of mine did it - we've kind of lost each other a bit during this pg, so it was a good way of connecting back up! I'd recommend it! I think!!

Still no MM?!

Slept soooo well last night, really the best night sleep in a long, long time. Might have had something to do with the big glass of red wine with supper!

Off for another day of catching up with friends - lunch in town, then getting my hair cut, then xmas party - I seem to have lots of energy at the moment which I should probably be using for ironing/ packing/ sorting my stuff out for the move on Monday, but instead am just socialising!

Hope everyone has a fun friday xx

largeginandtonic · 12/12/2008 13:02
