Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
EachPeachPearMum · 16/12/2008 20:31

I'm assuming treedelivery is christmas name????

Heart problems- well, it's up and down. Was ambulanced to A&E a few weeks ago as tachycardia would not stop, but it has mostly behaved since then. I just have to avoid getting tired... hahaha. Whilst being monitored, they found I was contracting every 3 mins too but that stopped after 24 hours thank goodness.

DS is in prime position- head down, back to the left, 3/5 engaged- eek!
He has been pressing under my ribs a lot, and the BH have literally been taking my breath away... which is weird because I didn't feel any BH with DD at all.

treedelivery · 16/12/2008 20:34

Tree been my nickname since I was 12, and delivery was added on when went to uni to do deliveries!

Nigella is on. Grrrrr. Wanna eat her food but stop her perfect smugness. Really gets me that woman! Especially as clearly I'd love to look like tahe, cook like that and er..lick a spoon like that.

rrrayray · 16/12/2008 20:35

Ladies ladies ladies, you have been busy bees nattering away.

treedelivery - Very handy to have a midwife to hand. i'm afraid i think you will be bombarded with all sorts of questions now!

Each Peach just checked facebook group, there doesn't seem to be any requests to join the FB group? Maybe try again if you like!? Chilli sounds yum!

LenniEd · 16/12/2008 20:37

4 litres - that's very impressive!

Treedelivery - I like midwives too. Will confess to liking some more than others, and being completely in awe of one of my community midwives who I'd entrust my life to, but haven't ever taken a dislike to one.

Last time I found the midwives on delivery to be saints. The ones on ante-natal were wonderful too if a little stretched. The only ones I found anything other than lovely were the post-natal ones, a couple of which were quite rude to a lady in the next bed who had had a traumatic early emergency c/s.

MM - I think you need sleep and chocolate. And once you've had both it will be the weekend and you can enlist DH to sort out your room for you. Let's face it the nursery will be empty for a while yet while bubs is with you so don't worry about that. And DS2 will soon be back to himself once he's had some more time at home.

Periwink · 16/12/2008 20:56

Oh no - you are chattering so much - there is no way i am going to be able to catch upon this thread.

Just checking in quickly as we're at my IL's for dinner ended up having to do TWO London to Wales round trips as I had too much stuff to get into the van. Oh how I wish I had the foresight to just book a proper removal company for some reason I thought my OH, brother in law and my brother would between them manage to make it painless. Oh no. It's been a nightmare, and have had BH throughout as I have been running around 'directing'.

Anyway, have had a quick skim thru 3 pages of posts and don't think I've missed out on any arrivals, which is the important thing, but did get to have a laugh at qumps story on that note, OH and I have been happily practicing for the next baby pretty much non-stop except for a month when I had that rash but we have only been together for a bit more than a year! Honeymooners....

Hopefully will get broadband in the next couple of days so will be properly back on the thread, but in the meantime take care ladies!

rrrayray · 16/12/2008 22:05

each peach- the first one must not have worked, i accepeted it earlier. I will put your mumsnet name up in a min.

give the dog- i'd give it another whirl.

Feeling really very odd... shakey, bit light headed, and my Braxton hicks been going over load today. Am wondering if being poorly is playing havock with them? anyone...?

EachPeachPearMum · 16/12/2008 22:11

Do you have flu? Doesn't sound good...

rrrayray · 16/12/2008 22:16

i didn't think it was as bad as flu.... thought just heavy cold, but am thinking again now....

just had an odd thought, don't know what the basis for it is... but being poorly wouldn't cause my body to go into labour would it??? there is no way i could deal with being in labour right now!!! Plus, OH is away.

wow, too many posts to read... don't think we are going to have any more babies on this thread, somehow, with only 60 posts left... unless heathersmum manages to check back in from the hospital super fast, of course.

anybody else suddenly become really uncomfortable in the past couple of days. backache, aching belly, sleep going by the board...? feeling really quite sorry for myself...

tinkisabigpinksparklybauble · 17/12/2008 09:23

morning

have midwife tom have seen for 5 weeks

MissHairspray · 17/12/2008 09:37

Hi all, wow loads of posts to catch up on. Hello to the new arrivals (both babies and mums). Chefswife glad to hear your birth was so positive, I don't have high hopes of actually laughing during 2nd stage but nice for you to share such a happy experience.
moosemamma sorry you have had such a rotten time, I really hope everyone is on the mend now and you get a bit of rest before the baby arrives.
stripey I suddenly seem to have gotten really uncomfortable too. 37 weeks today, bump now seems so massive (and low!) and it is just impossible to get comfortable in bed now. Had to get up at 4am for an hour as had leg cramps, active baby, that weird squashed breathless feeling and was absolutely starving. I was desperate to finish work but now I have it is like all I can do is think about the birth which doesn't help with the sleeping either. Probably like most of you I veer between excitement that i'm going to have a baby soon, and terror - that i'm going to have a baby soon!
Enjoy your day, looking forward to hearing from Heathersmummy

rrrayray · 17/12/2008 11:59

stripey ditto on the uncomfortable front... although coupled with feeling so rotten i think is making it worse.

tink i have midwife appointment Today at half 4. Was going to ask you ladies, do i still go even though i am poorly???? I mean i am able to go (OH will drive) but i just wondered if they would actually want me with my germs?

moosemama · 17/12/2008 12:26

Hi all,

LenniEd that's exactly what I did. Half a box (single layer only) on Guylian sea shells then off to bed. Had to get up to do DS2s meds at midnight, but all went smoothly thanks to the bribery method!

Tried doing the knee to chest thing this morning but it really hurts my back for some reason. Maybe I'm not doing it right. Will have to try with DH here next time so he can see where I'm going wrong.

Was really embarassed this morning. My aunt, who I only see about once a year, turned up out of the blue. DS2 and I were asleep but I am expecting a delivery of my car seat adapter for the buggy so got up anyway. Nearly died when she came in, the place is such a state despite being 100% better than a few days ago. DS2 wanted to come downstairs but refused to come out from under a blanket and kept crying. Then after she left I realised I never even offered her a drink - oh where's my head at?!

DH off to works lunch at pub today so just me and DS2 all day. We are going to watch Horton Hears a Who together and be lazy - again!

rrrayray sorry to hear you are so poorly. Could you give your midwife a call and see if she's willing to pop in instead to save you having to go out? Also, I'm told if you go into labour when you have a cold/flu bug the adrenalin quickly kicks it into touch and the symptoms disappear.

rrrayray · 17/12/2008 13:00

moosemama i know this isn't going to make you feel any less embarssed about the place being a mess, etc... But... What did your aunt think she was doing? you've had an awful week and are heavily pregnant. In my personal opinion, although i'm sure she had the very best of intentions, its borderline rude to just turn up at someones house uninvited. At least call ahead! How is DS doing now?

I think i'll see how i am in a bit and then maybe call her and see if she will come to me. i'm not too fussed about going in to see her, its about 5 mins from here, and OH would drive me door to door, i was more concerned that they wouldn't want me in with all my lurgies!??! We shall see.

My Tummy is so itchy over the last few days despite covering it in oil (yes i know that books say it doesnt have any effect on stretch marks, but personally how can giving it LOTS of moisture not help!?!?) am just praying that i'm not going to have done so well so far to get stretch marks now! But that said, me and OH were talking about it last night, and really....Who ever sees your tummy/boobs? OH on holiday and thats about it... And obviously its his baby... so suck it up!

My hands are also feeling a bit puffy/fluidy this morning. Not enough for anyone else to notice, but when i clench my fists it feels like i've been on a plane or something. Yuck. Guess another thing to tell midwife.... just praying my Blood Pressure hasnt gone up (pre-eclampsia and all that)... but it would have had to have gone up ALOT... i've been at the LOW end of normal all the way through, it was 110/54 on 26/11 according to notes.

rrrayray · 17/12/2008 13:08

............since i was poking through my notes, thought i'd weigh myself for the first time since being pregnant. I've gone from 52 kg and now am 69.4 kg.

just looked online and it seems thats rather more than normal. in pounds i've gained around 37 (if have converted right) and that seems about right for TWINS!!!!!!!!

Have to say am rather surprised, as apart from the envitable massive pregnancy boobs, sprouting bottom & a bit of thigh weight i'm nearly all bump, and it was a TINY bump until a few weeks ago.

Should i be worried? Makes my Body Mass 25.5.

Gosh, i wish i hadn't weighed myself - i knew there was a reason why i hadnt!!!!!

thats great news booksgalore. what a lovely midwife. i had a consultant do the same for me at my booking in. was amazed at the detail they manage to write down and it also filled in a lot of blanks for me as couldn't really remember anything. so do they think birth is imminent? when are you due?
rrayray scales should be banned during pregnancy. no idea how much i weigh but thinking it must be less than last time as put on about 4 stone. was quite tiny though as not long after our wedding for which i was super skinny. anyway pretty much got back to normal weight between births but means nothing as body a completely different shape. had lots of water retention first time and by the sounds of your swelling you have too so that prob accounts for a lot. oh and the baby!
moose check you with the posh chocolates!
treedelivery so nickname not after a baby you delivered that looked like a tree?!! my one question (if i'm allowed) desperately trying to bring on labour as 37 weeks, c section booked at 39 due to previous shoulder dystocia but told if go before baby should be smaller so can go naturally. best tips for bringing it on? please don't say sex as husband won't go there after the fluid leakage.....
