great news booksgalore just don't move so she stays there.
feeling knackered and have just used all ds sleep time to surf net

moosemama · 17/12/2008 13:50

She always turns up unannounced at this time of the year to bring the boys Christmas presents. I shouldn't complain really, she is a lovely lady with a heart of gold and didn't bat an eyelid at the mess, it was just me that was about it.

Ray / qumps I put on 4 stone last time as well, feel positively svelte this time by comparison, although have to say bump was a lot more comfortable when I was bigger than it is this time, every movement she makes really hurts. Turned out that, not only had I gained a fair bit of weight, there was absolutely tonnes of aqua around DS2, tmi but, nearly flooded the delivery room when she broke my waters and then it just kept coming and coming and coming!

books great news, lovely to hear you are felling so upbeat. Where do you get the energy for dancing from though?

qumps DH bought me the chocs last night after I told him tree had prescribed them and they were compulsory. (I tried to convince him they were scientifically proven to turn breech babies as well, but he didn't fall for that one.) Only problem is I keep getting another one out every time I pass the fridge today!

As I type DS2 is screaming like a banshee and kicking me because I told him no crisps until he finishes his sandwich. He is being such a brat today, he must be feeling better.

moosemama · 17/12/2008 13:51

feeling not felling!

Natalie Jane has posted an update

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/667403-For-anyone-who-has-followed-the-ups-and-downs-of

She's due to be induced on Boxing Day (at 38 + 6)

rrrayray · 17/12/2008 14:41

Booksgalore lovely news, and what a nice consultant. Refreshing! Afraid can't play the piano, sure good for soothing newborn, but shall be air playing, thank you!

RE: Weight gain as proceeded to call OH and cry and tell him i was sorry for being fat an unattractive. But think i am being VERY silly, firstly, i am sure i have a fair amount of fluid, not to mention the extra in fingers/ankles, secondly i was underweight at 13 week scan, as i'm pretty slim anyway, and earlier was totally neglecting the fact i lost about 1/2 a stone in first 4 months, doh... and finally, well my bump is a very neat bump... So Sod the scales. Just wish i'd never got on the them..... i havent so far, so why did i feel the need to today¬!!!

Midwife appointment sorted itself, just as was about to call them and say was poorly and what should i do, THEY called me saying they had a labouring lady and could they switch my appointment to tomorrow?! Perfect!

MsSparkle · 17/12/2008 15:36

Hello all, i hope everyone is doing ok.

I have been feeling really crappy the last few days. Dp has been really stressed about his work and comes home and kind of takes it out on me. On Monday i mentioned to him that i hadn't had the inclination to do much that afternoon because i was feeling tired and achy [sp?] and he had a go at me. He said i can't just give up and that i had to carry on and get things done, otherwise i would just get into a lazy pattern. I said to him that at 38 weeks pregnant, surely i am entitled to have a rest and he said by "rest" you mean do nothing don't you? I said no, not do nothing but if i am feeling tired and not 100% then surely it's not good for me or the baby to struggle on.

The house is never a state when he gets in, yeah dd's toys might look messy etc but the house is never dirty. His washing is always done and he gets a meal every night so i don't see what his problem is. He makes it sound like i am sitting on my ass all day with dirty washing over flowing everywhere and makes it sound like i don't clean or cook. He really upset me and i went to bed that night crying myself to sleep.

I just want the baby out now, i am fed up. The midwife said my babys head isn't engaged yet so i don't think it's gonna come yet. Sorry for the long rant.

moosemama · 17/12/2008 16:05

Oh MsSparkle you poor thing. You rant away as much as you need to.

DH would be for the high jump if he even intimated I wasn't doing enough. Of course you should be resting and taking care of yourself and when he's home he should be taking care of you and giving you all the support and tlc you need. I think they forget that it takes two to make a baby sometimes.

He'd never cope in our house at the moment, I really am mostly sitting on my ass with a tonne of dirty washing waiting in the wings (getting through it gradually, but is a slow process).

Second babies often don't engage until labour starts, so the fact its not engaged yet is not really an indicator of how soon it'll be. We're on the home straight now, try and keep your chin up.

My DH is being a lot more helpful than yours but is still regularly being a right moody so and so because he is so stressed. We have rowed every night since I came home from the hospital about him not moving the furniture from our room out of the way so I can get to the stuff I need to get my bag packed and the fact that our bedroom won't be decorated by the time she arrives, same argument with no solutions agreed every single night!

I have decided today to try and focus on mid January as a new start for us and anything that happens in the meantime is something we just have to go through to get there. Its definitely helping and am feeling more relaxed.

(Actually giving up waiting for DH and forcing my way past all the furniture and boxes into the spare room to find my hospital bag stuff helped me to calm down as well.)

Spink · 17/12/2008 16:05

MsSparkle can I come over and hit your dp round the head with a big wet fish? Try to console yourself with the fact that the boys really CAN'T get what it is like to be so pg, if he actually knew what it felt like to be in your skin he would be fluffing up the pillows for you for sure And don't worry about head not being engaged - means nada for 2nd+ babies, apparently they often don't engage til labour anyway, and just float around feeling happy and free....

booksglaore fab news!!

I'd better go and unload the washing machine - just needed to reply to your post MsS

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 17/12/2008 16:28

Hello everyone

So sorry I haven't been keeping up on here, I saw some of you have been following what's happening with me, so thought I'd bob in and see where you all up to as well. I can't believe we've had two babies born already, I hope they are both doing OK?

This late pregnancy lark isn't much fun is it?! Seems there are a few of us with some on going problems, not long to go now, then the real fun will begin

I'm not really sure where to start with what's been happening here, I don't know how much you've all seen already, but it's fair to say that these last couple of months have just been fairly nightmarish!

I think it started with the baby not moving for a week, I was in and out of hospital for traces everyday, sometimes his heart beat would be too fast so we'd have to wait for it to slow down before they let me go. Then I got a kidney infection, followed by some sort of viral thing on top of that, all the while still going for regular traces. Then a MW measured me and decided I was too small, so we were sent for a growth scan on the 18th Novemeber, the baby was a good size at 5lb 1oz, but my waters were too low, we had another scan booked for about 10 days later. That scan showed the water level had risen enough to be OK.

Then I got the flu, the baby had stopped moving and I did my home doppler and his heart beat was 200+bpm so we had to go back into hospital, where they kept me in for 4 days, I was on IV AB's and fluids, they kept a good close eye on the baby, and apart from him turning breech he seemed fine, they booked another scan for yesterday to check his position, the placenta, the cord flow, his size, the water level, everything really, which is when we found out he hasn't really put any weight on since the last growth scan a month ago, he's estimated to be 5lb 5oz, so only a gain of 4oz in a month, my waters are too low again as well, but everything else looks perfect. I've got two more lots of monitoring booked (for Friday and next Tuesday) and as long as everything is OK in the meantime I will be induced on Boxing Day.

They have warned us he is likely to need some extra care when he's born, hopefully nothing too invasive just proper feeding and warmth monitoring, which will mean a longer stay in hospital than normal, but as long as he is well and healthy we could stay there for a year for all I care!

TBH it has been such a difficult time, on top of Christmas and all the prep. for that, it has been DS2's 2nd birthday (that I missed completely with being in hospital) and we have real problems with child care for our two boys, all the toing and froing from hospital has had DH at home more than at work, which in this climate isn't going down too well, and I am so not used to being ill it has all just knocked us for six. I am not one for being at the doctors with every sniffle or head ache and when I do get the odd cold or whatever I just carry on as usual, so having to actually take time out and sit down and watch while everyone else looked after my kids and cleaned the house etc. has been really difficult.

Anyway, I have gone on and on Sorry! I really hope everyone else is having an easier time of it, and I will try to pop on more often and keep up with you all.

tinkisabigpinksparklybauble · 17/12/2008 16:29

afternoon

xbg - ye for great appointmenr

ms sparkle - boo to dh

elkiedee · 17/12/2008 17:13

There should have been three arrivals by now, but one was a scheduled cs on Monday so mum and baby (Heathersmummy) are still probably in hospital.

Hope all goes well for you all now NJ, sounds like you've had enough problems. But do feel free to moan, isn't that what this thread is for?

moosemama · 17/12/2008 17:33

NJ, sorry to hear about all your problems. Sounds like you've really been through the mill. Keeping my fingers crossed that everything settles down for you now and it is plain sailing from here.

LenniEd · 17/12/2008 17:40

Hi NJ,

I was in same hospital over xmas 2yrs ago and everyone was lovely and in festive mood. Sure you will be well looked after on boxing day. Good to hear from you too

And before we run out of room - have made us a new thread

The one where we have our babies hopefully!

heron22 · 17/12/2008 17:46

Hi NJ, I am sorry to hear you're having a difficult time

I wonder if you remember me from one of the TTC threads?

Anyway, I am now 33+6 and things are not going smoothly either. i have gestational diabetes and am having to take blood glucose test 6 times a day! and am on diabetes tablets. seeing consultant next week. and baby is big! at 32 + 4 weeks my baby was already 5.5 lbs.

i am pretty sure that i will have to deliver sometime at 38 weeks.

you take care and all the best for your induction on Boxing Day. How many weeks will you be on that day?

chefswife · 17/12/2008 19:57

hello ladies... just popping in to see if anyone else has popped.

my heart goes to those of you still struggling with the flu. mine seem to magically disappear after i gave birth... which was nice.

has heathersmummy had her LO yet?

keep smiling ladies, life is grand in the grand scheme of things.

treedelivery · 18/12/2008 11:56

qumps - sorry haven't been back earlier. Wont say sex then - bugger, it was all I had to say! It's the prostaglandins he's got.

The only other things that will support the process are being rested, relaxed and well hydrated and nourished. So, sex sounds loads more likely in comparison to that! Verdict out on raspberry tea and extract, and apparently the actual quantities involved would cost a mortgage in supplements!

Have had mega rough couple of says [misery here as the sudden redundancy begining to bite, hit a month with no money coming in, still no job seekers, too RICH for increase in tax credits [staying at £10.50 per week], no surestart grant, Maternity allowance people have never heared of me [sent forms a month ago] and my payroll doesn't know I'm going on maternity leave 2nd week Jan [sent forms a month ago] and am just too damn tired to deal with it all. Night shift on delivery suite tonight. NO idea how will do it as pelvis sore again and generally weepy and tired. Water type stuff started leaking out of my eyes in supermarket so may be going insane!

Had consultant review yesterday. They weighed me!! Am one kg off being high risk for high BMI. But on very positive note indeed the lovely consultant is a having a word with anaesthetic staff so I can discuss the nightmare that was my 1st epidural.

End rant.

Wonder how heathersmummy getting on?

Off to bed. DH up till 3am unsettled about redunancy and worrying, but my need greater today unfortunately.

Waves to all!!

chefswife · 19/12/2008 03:40

redundancy sucks

LenniEd · 19/12/2008 20:19
