Oh and I forgot, make sure you put the plug in the sink first, the water should be cold enough to make your fingers go numb and numb fingers aren't good at holding soapy slippery rings - can you tell I've been there?!

Right shower time and then I'm going to have to work out where to put this load of washing - wish me luck!

kayzisexpecting · 26/11/2008 07:53

Nope it is bloody stuck. It won't come off at all. Where do I get it cut off?

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 26/11/2008 08:24

Morning All

Heebee- So sorry to hear about your news. Fingers crossed the tests are helpful.

Kay- Yay for good nights sleep and new babies on the Dec thread. Bugger about the ring... think A&E will cut it off for you but maybe leave it for a bit so your hand can recover again then try sticking your hand in bowl of icey water for a bit?... Though I've never had a ring stuck so best listen to Nat!

Morning Nat- bugger about the dryer... amused that it bothers you more than a face so swolllen you cant open your eyes... hope I can be as chilled about things as you later on and congrats to DH's niece Have they got a name?

Ses- glad the MW went so well and she got a HB straight off. I never told mine about having a doppler either... but she did say the baby hates it (not sure why) so I only use mine now if I've not felt much for a while...

Gruff- sorry to hear about pains...hope your they stay away now... sounds suspiciously like how mine started... fingers crossed it doesnt progress...

Morning everyone else

Really hope the baby wt thing isnt linked to parents wt.. I was 9 odd pounds but mainly length rather than girth (assume thats not such an issue...) not sure of DH.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 26/11/2008 08:25

If you absolutely have to have them cut off, get a jewellers to do it, if you went to A&E they'd make a mess of them.

See if you can leave them if you can though, the swelling may well go down, and it would be a shame to cut them if you don't need to. Obviously don't leave them for too long if they are actually hurting though (have visions of MNers taking me to court for damages to fingers all over the world!)

If you can leave them, at least till tomorrow morning do the cold water/soap thing first thing in the morning, swelling gets worse as you get up and move around, so the best chance is first thing.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 26/11/2008 08:29

Sorry x posts GYo! Morning

Am getting quite used to my face being swollen, seems to be my fashion statement for the winter They are getting easier to open, must be the movements helping to get the water moved about a bit!

Right, still got lunch to do, neither of the boys are dressed yet, and I have 15 minutes to do it all in!

kayzisexpecting · 26/11/2008 08:29

I'll leave it until tomorrow. Just incase.

My fingers don't look remotely swollen though. With DS they looked swollen so I took it off.

I am really upset about it.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 26/11/2008 08:29

Realsied all my work clothes are fast getting too small. Got two pairs of mat trousers that are ok but tops are the issue....though bump bands are doing the job at the moment, i dont think they will last...

Need to get stuff but seems crazy to buy new clothes for just two months... but suppose I cant wander about with the bump hanging out

Keep getting a shock when I look in the mirror and see the size of my girth and realise Im actually pregnant (I know, I know!) but when I look down it just looks like I've had a big dinner!

might post a bump picture, though its not that impressive

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 26/11/2008 08:37

Managed to lose all my pictures on my profile...

How did I do that... is it to do with changing my name?

now got a bump pic but need to find others to repost....

tinkisallreadytositonthetree · 26/11/2008 08:42

morning quick post off to nursery and tesco
sorry for swollen bits nat

Diege · 26/11/2008 09:01

Morning! GRUFF, I think that think about baby's weight relating to size of parents at birth is a bit hit and miss tbh. I was worried about the baby getting out as I was a small size 6 with dd1 (I know, I know...)and am 5.2, but no problems (OK, ventouse delivery, but they said that may have been due to at the time extremely strong tummy muscles - it seems like another lifetime but I actually won a gold medal for GB in dragon boat racing - oh how things have changed and had 'elite althelete' on my hospital notes ). OK, boasting over , back to reality and my 4th baby overhang..
GYO, interested in your view of bump bands? I haven't used mine yet and wondered if they actually stayed up etc? If I was having first baby I would think of maternity wear as an investment buy, not just for 2 months (having said that I do like starting 'afresh' with each pregnancy
NAT, that's sod's law about the dryer . Is it fixable do you think? Not exactly a draw that discount is it on a new one?
KAY, are you actually in pain with your wedding ring? Not that I suggest riding it out if you are in agony but if not may be worth waiting a few days to see if you can remove? Icy water and washing up liquid worked for me.
HEEBS, so sorry about the scan . Good that you are having tests, but I really feel for you, esp after having to wait it out so long; you must be all over the place. Take care xxx
Have just seen article on GMTV about woman having a gorgeous baby girl after 18 miscarriages. Really brought a tear to my eye!
Lots of parcels due to arrive today, so have a reason to get dressed!

kayzisexpecting · 26/11/2008 09:07

Its not hurting, well it wasn't before I started pulling and tugging at it. But I am going to give it a few days and see what happens.

I saw that baby girl on GMTV too. She was soooo cute. I can't help thinking they are so unlucky and lucky at the same time.

sorkycake · 26/11/2008 09:10

Morning all!

Having another lazy day today. Lack of sleep is getting a bit wearing now. This has been my most uncomfortable pregnancy at this stage. I'm okay on my back, but then heartburn strikes, pah!

Weather is crap for drying Nat isn't it? £159 sounds good for a dryer though. Have you got a clothes horse thingy?

I've got a car to sell today. I must get rid really as I'll need the money for the buggy.

Right well, have got a few things to do today, from my bed obv. Oh and what a bitch of a time for nesting to kick in, eh??

Glad 'Nevercare' came through finally with your order Kayz

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 26/11/2008 09:22

Kay, fingers crossed (no pun intended - honest ) you'll get them off at some point, try not to play with them, that will make any swelling worse.

GYo, H&M do really good priced maternity tops, also Dotty P's, Next are good for smarter work wear type. Good bump pic, sorry can't help with the other pictures, I am no good at techie stuff!

Tink, hello and goodbye

Diege, I think if the words 'elite athlete' ever crossed my hospital notes, the words 'at eating too much chocolate and being a PITA' would surely follow! Not sure it's worth getting the dryer fixed, it is the motor that's gone so I guess would be about as much to fix as to buy new. Problem is the dryer is in the garage, practically open to the elements, and it is on at least once a day, so they never last us very long!

GMTV story sounds like a tear jerker, how lucky they must feel now. The good bit always takes over the bad in the end.

Sorky, I think the washing would actually get wetter outside! We've got a couple of airers, but now we have absolutely nowhere to set them near a radiator, and the radiators are all covered in wet clothes, so the house is starting to cool down and they wouldn't heat the airer enough to dry them anyway....

Currys here we come methinks Bloody hate that shop.

kayzisexpecting · 26/11/2008 09:26

I will not try to get it off again today. Well until mum comes round tonight to pick up the new car seat and DS's travel cot.

Why is whenever I feel like I am not quite so scared about breastfeeding another thread appears that makes it sound impossible?

sorkycake · 26/11/2008 09:53

I have a belly pic now too

kayzisexpecting · 26/11/2008 10:38

Just when I thought today couldn't get any worse. I have just been sick and got a letter from the GPs saying I am Anaemic and need to eat girders(ok it doesn't say that, but it does say I need iron)

kayzisexpecting · 26/11/2008 10:39

Ooops forgot to add that my Clary Sage has arrived. Fingers crossed it does the job.

Diege · 26/11/2008 11:09

Ooh great bumps GYO and SORKY!!! Am very . I am having definite problems doing up my trousers. Have resorted to belly band and elastic hair bobble on jeans button jobby, which is fine when standing, but really digs in when sitting (and send the 'butterfly' crazy ) I think I will have to resort to maternity jeans soon, but don't want to buy any more before 12 week scan just in case.
Sorry about sickness and anaemia KAY . Hopefully the clarysage will sort the lot out for you!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 26/11/2008 11:23

great bump pics.... think i may have to update my pic of my ever-expanding bump!!! dont think i've posted a pic since about 12 wks.... and its grown loads since then!! DH says i look nearly ready to pop already!!!!! gonna go take a pic and upload it!!

kayzisexpecting · 26/11/2008 11:27

I want to post a picture of my bump but the camera has yet to be found. DH just says "I don't know where it is" Well surely that is the point of looking for it?? He won't let me look for it because it involves me moving stuff but he wont look himself.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 26/11/2008 11:29

I just use my phone camera.... latest bump pic uploaded (just ignore the mess on my pc desk!!!!)

kayzisexpecting · 26/11/2008 11:37

I am so confused about Clary Sage. Some people say it can help bring on labour and other people say it stops labour.

ARGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

sorkycake · 26/11/2008 11:38

I seem to have a low small bump this time around. Great pics btw.
Kayz go start rooting around huffing and puffing and I bet he gets up and finds it for you.

Good luck with the Clary sage. I used it for the last 3 weeks but to no effect, I just smelt like wet dog after each bath lol.

I know it doesn't make you feel any better but the baby will be the one who decides when to get out, pointless trying anything to shift it unless it's actually making you feel better to be 'doing something', which I totally get

The last 3 weeks are def the worst. I hope you don't get past your due date, when that date comes and goes and nothings changed there is def a bizarre sense of anger that you've been well and truly jipped!
I can remember being furious at such tardiness, saying to Dh "well someone had better pay"

kayzisexpecting · 26/11/2008 11:54

It does make me feel better to be trying to do stuff to get him out. Probably all in vain but if it might help then I will try it. Except the whole 'sperm is more beneficial if you swallow it'. We had a good giggle about sperm 'cock'tails in the dec thread!!

I apparently have a big bump for my dates. Not according to MW but to busybodies but I'm sure I am smaller then Glask!!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 26/11/2008 12:00

haha!! thanks Kayz- that makes me feel tons better at only 19+5!!!!

Right today hasn't been such a good day on the sickness.... have been sick 3 times already, and feel like i'm gonna be sick again before lunch... think i'm gonna get off, get the kids fed and in bed for naps so i can relax on the sofa in peace for a bit!!
