Hiya

Tink, I think they are beautiful, and I'd have bought them already!

Ses, I like both tables, think it really depends what the rest of your room/furniture is like.

Snow, it was snowing in the night, left a bit of a dusting, all gone now though.

We had a fun night, yesterday my kidneys were hurting a bit, went to MIL's and Tesco, all the while the kidneys getting worse, got into a nice warm bath last night that helped a bit, got into bed, woke up in tears at stupid o'clock, DH tried to get the doctor out here but he wouldn't come, I had huge fever, really bad head/neck ache, couldn't lie still because of the pain in my kidneys, GP did a good check over, deffo got kidney infection, got AB's, BP is up, swelling is bad, protein ++ in my wee (but that could be down to the infection), so we are back on stand by for action, I've really had enough now, and I expect you lot have had enough of me moaning on again! Gonna have a brew and go to bed I think, hope you're all having better weekends!

tinkisallreadytositonthetree · 23/11/2008 12:20

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 23/11/2008 13:22

Wow you lot chat loads!

Just read through but not sure how much i can remember...

Cosmo- congrats on good scan and having a girl - so your instincts were right!! Enjoy the pink buying

Hi Star- great to see you again.... glad the list of non-sex-find-outers is growing

Kay- got all excited reading the thread that you'd gone into labour when I saw you mention contractions.. hopefully not much longer!

Hello everyone else [waves] hope everyone is ok and not too cold..

We've been away to france since Friday back yesterday, to get food and wine for xmas... got loads of great stuff but really hard to not eat the stinky cheese... Did have some salami last night that was probably off limits but seem ok so far (fingers crossed) and of couse my medicinal small glass of red wine...

kayzisexpecting · 23/11/2008 13:25

Poor Nat!!!! You really are going through the mill lately.

We have a huge snowman in the garden. Mum came round to pick up the pram and DS made a snowman with his grandad. We have no coal though so he has coke bottle lids for eyes!! Looks a bit demonic!!!

My birth ball has been pumped up, but I'm never going to get a chance to use it. DS loves it and won't let me anywhere near it.

kayzisexpecting · 23/11/2008 13:43

Ooooooh I have got an e-mail from Mothercrap and they have said that they sent it to parcelnet by mistake and that it has been passed onto to UPS and should arrive mid-week. They have refunded me the postage.

kookykid · 23/11/2008 14:01

LOL at Mothercrap! And demonic snowman!
Pants amount of snow here.

Nat, sorry things are so bad - how many weeks are you now?

Anyone got any good cold remedies for me?? Am feeling very sorry for myself!

tinkisallreadytositonthetree · 23/11/2008 14:53

kayzisexpecting · 23/11/2008 17:49

Tink, those links don't work for me, comes up saying 'product not found' but it could be me.

I love some of the nursery stuff on Verbaudet. Its gorgeous.

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 23/11/2008 18:05

tink - links don't work for me either but I loved the sleepsuits you linked earlier.
Can someone explain the back flap? Not really sure what you mean...

Kay - LOL at DS on birthing ball! Hopefully he'll be bored of it by the time you really need it!

Kooky - sorry for cold. Definitely excuse for blanket and hot chocolate. You can take paracetamol if you need to but not a lot else. Hot lemon or ribena with syrup and/or inhaling with steaming water is good for a cough or sore throat. Hope you feel better soon.

GYo - Glad you enjoyed France. Don't know how pg women manage over there as all I think of when I think of France is yummy smelly cheese, wine, pate and cured meats! (I'm sure they cope just fine really!)

I've just put the chicken in the oven that I got at the farmers market yesterday. It still had the giblets so I've put those in a pan with water and left over veg to make a soup.

Watched the football whilst ironing this afternoon. Another good win for Spurs!

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 23/11/2008 18:08

Oh and meant to say I ordered the first, cheaper table. Really couldn't justify the extra £200 and if they'd both been the same price I'd probably still have been undecided so it obviously wasn't worth the extra! Tesco say the'll deliver it on Sat 6th Dec.

Also ordered a faux leather blanket box and matching stool/box from Next.

DH has been putting up curtain poles this afternoon so all we need now is some curtains! Tbh, I really haven't noticed not having them as house is very well placed so our neighbours can't see in.

Anyway, I've waffled enough...

kayzisexpecting · 23/11/2008 18:18

We are not mentioning football in my house this weekend.

The moses basket is in our room now as the pram has gone. It looks lovely and I can't wait to be able to use it. MIL is very unhappy with me as she got us a second hand one but she didn't know what colour it was and she thought it might have been pink. Then I saw the one we have from Boots and I ordered it as I love it.

Apparently in France they don't tell pg woman to stop eating blue cheese and pate. They also don't stop drinking, they just know their units better. I know my units and I know I am allowed another shandy tonight. I love shandy and couldn't resist yesterday when we were in the shop.

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 23/11/2008 18:23

No mention of football Kay??! Can't think why!

I think moses baskets all look really cute but will look even better with a baby in!

I've still not had any alcohol but I do like my wine and I think if there is a bottle open, I'll be having one or two glasses a week - especially over Christmas and New Year.

Suddenly worried myself as I like cashew nuts and have eaten quite a few. For some reason they seem to be good for you though and no need to avoid like peanuts! I really don't think a small amount of anything would be particularly harmful but some things just carry more risk so the less you eat them, the less the risk. We normally have a decent cheese board on Christmas Day and I think I'll find it v hard to resist a bit of Stilton!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 23/11/2008 18:41

Ses- i'm a naughty eater... I have always allowed myself a little of what i fancy, even if its supposed to be 'avoided' but at the same time i dont drink any alcohol at all while pregnant... i had the tiniest sip of wine at my mums 40th birthday, didn't even have a glass of champers!!!

I will have a tiny bit of cheese if i fancy it, eat peanut butter if i fancy it etc... I also eat haggis which has some liver and offel in it which is supposed to be avoided too.... obviously i dont eat tons, but i'll have a little.... I told my midwife when i was pregnanct with DS and she agreed that its not really going to do me or the baby any harm to eat a little of it.

The way i see it, these 'guidelines' have only come into the frame within the last 20years or so, before then there was nothing like that... women ate and drank what they want and the human race is still going isn't it!!!

sorry- gone on a bit of a ramble there!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 23/11/2008 18:42

ooh- and the peanut thing is only really if you have allergies and excema i think... i dont, did have 2 fruit allergies but dont any more... and dont have excema...

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 23/11/2008 18:48

Thanks Glaskham
My mum does keep telling me that she drank and ate what she wanted throughout all her pregnancies and thinks we all turned out alright!

kayzisexpecting · 23/11/2008 19:10

Nuts are fine apart from peanuts. But it really depends as the new thing is that if you avoid peanuts then you are more likely to give your dc a nut allergy. But the guidelines still stay to avoid them if you or your dp/h has hayfever, asthma or allergies.

I didn't eat peanuts with DS and he has excema so it's not foolproof really.

I do drink alcohol but not very often. I had a lot of champers with DS though as we got married the day after we found out I was pg. We got 14 bottles of champagne and I had a glass out of each. I've found it really hard to resist cider with this pregnancy, I want it all the time. I did try mixing apple juice with lemonade but it's not the same.

sorkycake · 23/11/2008 21:32

I haven't altered my diet whatsoever for this and my 2 previous pregnancies. PFB means I kept to the 'guidelines' a bit more strictly (once I actually kept food down that is)

It's a load of codwallop imo. I mean you're not supposed to have too much chocolate, tea/coffee because "it increases risk of stillborn"

fgs we'll be eating nothing but bloody branflakes and feckin custard soon

Eat what you want girls I say I haven't stopped drinking either, though to be fair I never want it until about 20 weeks, which I figure is probably the safer end of pg anyway.

I eat exactly what I fancy when I'm not pg. I trust my body to tell me what it wants, I don't see why this should change during pg tbh.
Atm I crave satsuma's, water & fresh orange & Rachel's full fat yoghurts.

I have very little actual appetite at present and struggle to find stuff to eat, but it'll balance itself out in a couple of weeks.

There is nothing better than a glass of something when you really want it

kayzisexpecting · 23/11/2008 21:35

Guess what I have just found!!

Amazon sell pg tests. 50 for £7.99 Why didn't one of us find it all those months ago!!!

How blooming cheap!!!!!

kayzisexpecting · 24/11/2008 08:01

Morning,

I got 2 hours sleep last night and I feel awful. I have a horrible headache and feel like I could sleep for England.

We're not sure if DH will still have a job at the end of the week. Honda are cutting down their production and closing for March and April and most of the work DH does is for Honda. Also Jaguar and Land Rover are holding emergency talks with the govt as they are struggling. Of course DH makes bits for them too. Everyone who works there is in a panic now.

Hope everyone is feeling ok, Nat hope you didn't end up back in hospital over the weekend.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 24/11/2008 08:07

Morning

I agree with Sorky et all, eat and drink what you want, when you want, within reason. I'm not a big cheese lover anyway so haven't eaten any yucky smelly bits, but then I wouldn't have if I wasn't pregnant, and as for nuts, well the big bar of fruit and nut that we chomped after the boys had gone to bed last night was yummy! I even let DH have a bit!

Well I feel absolutely rubbish, AB's must be doing something because my kidneys are no where near as sore as they were, just the odd rumbling now and then, but the rest of me feels like I've been by a truck, 3 times, in a row, and a big bloody truck at that. Am all sweaty one one minute, then shivering freezing cold the next, head is pounding, neck is unmovable without whimpering to myself, the babies furniture is coming today and I can't even get excited about it, and I have been waiting for so long for it to turn up! Got hospital this afternoon, and I have to admit I am really starting to hope that they find my BP up even higher and that they get me going, if the baby is as big as they say then he'll be fine, but no doubt I'll be home for tea.

I am moaning again, I sodding hate moaning, am going to leave you lovely ladies to it, will probably be gone most of the day anyway (stop cheering at the back!) between furniture and hospital and general slobbing about I doubt there be much time for MN.

Have a good Monday all xxx

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 24/11/2008 08:08

Morning!

Kay - only 2 hrs!!! Not suprised you've got a headache. Poor you. Will you get any chance to nap today? Must be v unsettling re DH's job too. Hope he gets good news soon.

Hope everyone else is ok. I'm working in Brighton today. Hope to get chance to do some shopping as I think I need new bras again!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 24/11/2008 08:08

So sorry Kay, couldn't read that and run (though will have to now!) I will keep my fingers crossed that he is OK, what a worry at the very worst time

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 24/11/2008 08:16

Morning NJ - sorry your still feeling so awful. Does sound like an infection so hope ABs start to work soon.
Also hope furniture arrives ok and when you see it you get really excited

kayzisexpecting · 24/11/2008 08:23

Nat, sorry you are still not feeling well. Stop worrying about moaning to us. We don't mind!!!

Our next door neighbour works with DH and he has 2 kids and they are worried too. They had to lay off some people a couple of months ago and they were told at 9 when the big bosses came in, so I am dreading a text from DH.

I should be able to get a nap when DH gets home from work at 3 but I really need to go into town. Just don't know if I want to go out in the cold!!
