I'm one of three with an older brother (3.5yrs) older and a younger brother (6.5yrs younger). It tended to be my older brother that ended up on his own. Still is a bit like that tbh. He and younger brother v rarely have a conversation and it's not that they don't talk, they are just v different people. Next wkend me, DH and my younger brother and his new gf are going up to stay with older brother and SIL. (They live in Keswick.) Should be a good wkend and hopefully older brother will see that younger brother is an adult in his own right now!

kayzisexpecting · 22/11/2008 17:37

My DH is one of 3 and he has 2 younger sisters. He has always said since his youngest sister arrived he has felt pushed out. They would always play we each other and he would be left doing nothing.

tinkisallreadytositonthetree · 22/11/2008 17:37

farmers markt sounds gr8
i like 2nd coffee table
poor u glas some people

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 22/11/2008 17:38

RIP 'clown fish'.... he really is dead this time... no gills have moved in the last 20mins that i've been watching him .... think i'm gonna have to leave him to float on the top till DC's go to bed... if they see they'll get upset, if they dont they'll probs not notice!!

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 22/11/2008 17:41

Oooh Glask! He certainly put up a good fight. Might be the best plan to leave him for the moment. I'm sure DCs won't notice then.

Hmmm I've still not decided on the coffee table... Have windows up on the lap top with them both. Am trying to picture them with the sofa we haven't got yet but is on order!! (It's black leather) Probably won't make much difference as colouring is fairly similar on both...

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 22/11/2008 17:45

I ave to say i much prefer the first one (sorry have only just looked) looks more contemporary and its nearly 1/3rd the price of the second... think how much DH will love you for spending less- might go in your favour when it comes to bringing up DC No2!!!

kayzisexpecting · 22/11/2008 17:45

Awwww poor Clown Fish. He really has put up a great fight.

kayzisexpecting · 22/11/2008 17:47

I prefer the first too. Also you could use the extra to buy baby stuff.

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 22/11/2008 17:47

Good point Glask!
I think if they were the same price I may have gone for the 2nd but not sure I can really justify another (nearly) £200...

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 22/11/2008 17:47

haha- he's not actually a clown fish (thought i kinda wish he was)... he was only named that as DS was so mad on nemo when we got them, so the 3 we have were named 'clown fish', dori, and nemo..... how very original!!!

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 22/11/2008 17:48

Ok. Will get the first and earn some brownie points for other spending!

Right - off to feed the dogs. Catch you later!

Diege · 22/11/2008 17:50

Aw RIP clown fish

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 22/11/2008 17:51

I think i ought to go and rest my poorly head .... its still pounding, and the DC's are currently being lovely and playing together quietly which has been a big problem the last 2 days!!!

kayzisexpecting · 22/11/2008 17:58

Poor Glask's head!

One of the lovely ladies on the Due Dec thread who lives near me has been told that the roads are impassable!!!! We've had to tell her to keep her legs crossed but its her first so unlikely to be early.

Starshinetiger · 22/11/2008 18:19

Hi All, again not been on for ages - another manic week, this time being on a course and working around it. So glad weekend is here! DH taught DS to say "miss you" and "love you" on the phone to me as I was away for 2 nights - longest I've been away from DS since he was born! Was so cute, my heart melted straight away.
Ses - I missed NTWIC 1983, but was really looking forward to it - I was 9 at the time, so no, you're not the only one to remember it!
GYo, think it was you wondering if you're the only one not finding out the sex, but we're not either (well not so far!) Right until we got into the 20 week scan, I was sure we would, but when I got in there and she showed so clearly that everything was alright, everything else went out the window and I decided that I didn't want to find out. Deep, deep down, I'd be delighted with a girl, but I know that 2 brothers would be lovely too. Surprised myself by not finding out. Can't believe that's over a week ago now and I haven't had a chance to get back on Mumsnet!
Nat, glad to hear that you haven't been back in hospital.
Glas, sorry that the sickness is still rough and you have pains too - how many weeks are you? Blooming phase for me really didn't kick in until 19/20 weeks round this time and I seem to have gone straight into nesting stage when I have enough energy to do it. Have calculated that it is only 13 weeks until I give up work now - how sad is that!
Right, as usual, not on for ages and then waffling. I do catch up on all your posts now and then though.

2beautifulgalsandabean · 22/11/2008 18:37

Evening everyone,
Have been lurking the past week but no time/energy to post sorry.

Glask- RIP clown fish, i have been reading about him laying dead wondering whether he would pull through! Sorry for sickness, migraine and 'orrible neighbour. A lot to contend to all at once.

Kayz- Love the noahs ark range, good choice. Any more news on your MC order, think last i read it had gone to UPS! Bloody delivery companies. Our postman yesterday left the post outside the door instead of knocking or posting There was the DD's photos from school and a book i had ordered! Good job we got it before the heavy rain started. Very jealous about your Snow. My DD1 would be convinced santa was coming the next day if she saw it. Last time we had snow a few weeks back she even called me a liar because i said he wasn't coming yet.

Ses- I like the first table aswell. I was 2 in 1983 and my DH was born in that year, but do love 80's music. Can't wait for X factor and i'm a celebrity hopefully stay awake, usually fall asleep during last act then wake up at end then fall asleep in results! DH working late so won't be home till after 10.

Hi everyone else sorry going to blame the preghead again and that i can't scroll back further than this page

I'm 14+4 today and i'm hugeeee. My belly just popped yesterday i look about 5-6 months. It is so strange as never showed with DD's until 6 months + Been watching homebirth diaries today and crying my eyes out is it weird to be looking forward to labour?
Still sick on occasions but nowhere near as bad as it was.
Oh, i didn't tell you that i have booked xmas day lunch with the princesses at euro disney. Bit costly but my girls will love it.
Can't wait....

Oh i would love 5 kids, but this is definately the last struggled to get DH to agree to this one! I am an only child and hated it wanted lots of children to beable to play together.

kayzisexpecting · 22/11/2008 18:44

Nope no more news on my order. It'll probably arrive when I am in labour. I'm going to have buy some maternity pads from boots just so I have some incase it doesn't arrive. But we have no baby socks, DS's seem to have vanished. So baby will have no socks if it doesn't arrive before I have him.

The xmas day lunch sounds great 2bg, Will I fit in a suitcase???

kayzisexpecting · 23/11/2008 08:56

Morning,

We have loads of snow. I want to take DS out in it but DH thinks he is too young. What does he know??

Nothing else has happened so I think those contractions were just to wind me up and he is going to end up being late.

Hope everyone is ok this morning.

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 23/11/2008 09:04

Morning!

Snow in Surrey too. (Although it's turning sleety so I'm worried it won't stay long!)

Kay - definitely take DS out in the snow!! My mum never used to let me have fun in the snow - was worried I'd slip and hurt myself ?!- so I grew to always hate it when it snowed! When I was 16 (yes,16!) I had 2 friends from school come over to take me for a "walk" in the snow and they actually took me sledging. It was my first time and I loved it!

Anyway...take him out in it!!

tinkisallreadytositonthetree · 23/11/2008 10:00

they look so cute do up @ the back dd had some already have 6 sleepsuits from tesco pink and white

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 23/11/2008 10:35

those sleepsuits are lovely, would make ideal daywear for when you're just staying at home!!

Migrane is dying off this morning!!! wuhoo!!

have just done my tesco order online, being delivered tomorrow, aswell as my abel & cole order tomorrow too!!

Considering going to my mums today just to get out of the house, but it keeps raining on and off- so i'm not sure if i wanna risk it... i need to walk into town first to the cash machine and dont wanna get caught in the rain!!

sorkycake · 23/11/2008 11:07

Does anyone know where I can get sleepsuits that have the bum flap at the back like they do on the continent and in Asia?
They don't do up at the front just have a poppered section at the rear for toilet access.

sorkycake · 23/11/2008 11:08

I was one of 3 and it was rubbish. Always someone left out and the reason we're having 4.

I don't do odd numbers ;)

Diege · 23/11/2008 11:31

Morning! Yes, get them TINKS!!! As GLASK says, great for daywear when they're little.
SORKY, I think TINKS verbaudet ones fasten with back flap? Also I found the petit bateau ones did, also any of the other poncy French designer ones?
Had a slow morning, and getting dds ready to go to MILs (great!). Was going to go out today, but looking at weather no chance!

Diege · 23/11/2008 11:31

Oh and SORKY, I'm another who doesn't do odd numbers! Good job we aren't pregnant with twins
