Cool, thanks!

I'm just watching "Now that's what I call music 1983" that I sky plussed from last night. Show's my age but great to see some of the old 80s guys! Takes me back to a time when music ruled my life and seemed to provide me with most of the answers to it too! Having said that I was only 10 in 1983....Errr but then half the people on this thread probably weren't born then!

Think I'd best leave it at that

kayzisexpecting · 22/11/2008 16:37

Diege, It is exactly like that. Roll on D-Day, I want all these annoying pains and stuff to stop.

Ses, I wasn't born then!!! My parents weren't even married in 1983. I feel like a baby!!! I did watch it last night though and thought it was really good.

I have just had a lovely long nap thanks to DH. I slept on the sofa and for some reason it always feels like a proper nap if I sleep on the sofa.

Diege · 22/11/2008 16:42

SES I am also wathcing it on ITV2 . If it makes you feel any better, I was 13 in 1983

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 22/11/2008 16:45

Hi Kay. Thanks for that - I do feel really old now! LOL

Well done on your nap.

OMG, I'm really sad - I'm loving this programme!!

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 22/11/2008 16:47

Ooh - thanks Diege! Helps a bit!

About 4 years ago when I was young, free and single I took myself off to Edinburgh for a long weekend and they had an 80s tribute night at the theatre so I went! Nick Heyward was playing along with Ben from Curiosity Killed the Cat, Toyah and Claire Grogan. Was great!

kayzisexpecting · 22/11/2008 16:50

My DH was 1 if it helps! My mum was 20 in 1983 if that helps at all.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 22/11/2008 16:55

Ses- i only just started feeling movements with this one in the last week properly.... and its my 3rd DC- you'd think i knew what movements felt like so would have felt them earlier.... and even today at 19+1 i only really feel them if i'm sat down and my waistband is a bit tighter around my bump, or if i'm led down relaxing!!

had a long rest upstairs, put the kids in their room and went to bed for 3.5hrs i heard them playing, and watching video's then i'm certain they both had a little nap as they were silent for at least an hour.

When i first got into bed though the kids from next door were making tons of noise, so i looked out my window to see the older one sat on the shed roof with an axe, wacking things... and the younger one (about 8yo) was jumping on my fence panel that blew down a couple of days ago.... i was getting very angry as i'd payed for the fence panel, and that was only becasue they'd broken the old ones that had blown down over last winter... anyway he stopped, i went to settle to sleep only for him to start again, so i opened my bedroom window and told him to stop jumping on it, becasue if he broke it his mum would have to pay for it.... the older one said 'so what i dont care' so i replied 'dont talk to me like that' both ran inside then about 5mins later their scary (i mean i was scared she'd break into my house to batter me) mum was stood in the back garden shouting 'have you got a problem? you stupid cow, if you've got a problem come and talk to me about it, dont shout at my boys!!'..... i mean i was almost shaking.... she's scary at the best of times... now i have told DH to go into her garden and take our fence panel out, and put it in our garden so her kids can't break it!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 22/11/2008 16:56

in 1983 i wasn't even born DH was born that year!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 22/11/2008 16:59

though ses- if it makes you feel any better i feel about 40 with my 2 DC's!!! they've really aged me!! and apparently i look a lot older too i wish i could have looked 19 forever!!

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 22/11/2008 17:00

Glaskham - what an awful woman!!! Glad you got some rest though and hope you feel a bit better for it.

Maybe I should never have mentioned 1983???!!!

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 22/11/2008 17:01

Hmmm I wonder how old I'll look in a few years then when I hopefully have more than one...??!

No...quit whilst I'm (sort of) ahead!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 22/11/2008 17:03

my friend had her son when she was 39, she's now 43, and looks about the same age as me still!!! she's very lucky!!!

kayzisexpecting · 22/11/2008 17:05

I feel about 40 too. I apparently look about 17 according to the amount of old hags that moan about me being a single teenage mum.

I must get a huge Victoria Beckham style wedding ring with a 6ft diamond on it.

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 22/11/2008 17:07

Maybe there's hope for me yet!

I'm secretly hoping this one is a girl as I know DH would love a boy as he wants to name him after his grandfather. If this one is a girl, he may be happier to start ttc again fairly soon!
Logic there is a bit twisted and I know we'll be happy whatever this one is. Also, by the time I actually get through this pregnancy and give birth, I might be saying never again so maybe I hope this one is a boy!

Do you guys ever think that I think about things way too much???!

Diege · 22/11/2008 17:08

Yes SES, I would quit if I were you .
GLASK I would have done exactly the same as you with the noise. What an awful family
Looking forward to x-factor then 'I'm a celebrity' if I can keep awake!

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 22/11/2008 17:10

Me too Diege
Will also try and fit Strictly in by the power of Sk+ forwarding through Brucie and adverts!

Diege · 22/11/2008 17:11

Oh and on the thinking thing SES I think you think like we all do! How many dcs are you thinking of out of interest? I remember someone on the 05 antenatal thread I was one saying she wanted at lerast 10, hopefully more. She did indeed have her second pretty close as you can after first, and I often wonder what number she is on now . FWIW 4 is defintely my limit!

kayzisexpecting · 22/11/2008 17:12

I would never let DH name one of our boys after his grandad. His name was Albert. Luckily DH thinks it would be nasty to give a child such a old name.

Glask, They do sound very nasty next door.

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 22/11/2008 17:13

Well when I was about 15, I dreamt of having about 10 children and had a fascination with large families.
As the years have gone on, I've become more realistic - especially as I didn't meet DH until 4 years ago.
Currently I say 4 and DH says 3 but we'll see how it goes and how the finances go I guess!
Secretly I'd like to forget about contraception forever and just see what happens but that's probably not v practical!!

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 22/11/2008 17:15

btw, I guess the fact that I'll be 36 in February may give us a limit too!
Whoops, shouldn't have gone back to how old I am again!

kayzisexpecting · 22/11/2008 17:21

I've always wanted 4, but I don't think DH will let me.

I'm not going back on the pill though after this one.

Diege · 22/11/2008 17:21

You have years to fit 4 in SES Especially if you like the sound of small gaps .

Diege · 22/11/2008 17:23

KAY I just think (think, mind) that 4 seems, well 'neater', in the sense that with 3 there's always one left out? That's how it is with my 3 anyway, as dds 1&2 are so close in age. Whereas if I had 5 I'd have to even it up again, ad infinitum!

kayzisexpecting · 22/11/2008 17:27

So do I Diege, plus if you have 3 you could risk one being left out. But if there are 4 then 2 can play and the other 2 can play.

Well thats what I am going to tell DH anyway!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 22/11/2008 17:27

Diege- i kinda think the opposite to you, with 3 DC's if one is 'left out' every playtime it can lead to a bit more independance... I was one of 3, and i suppose we've all turned out relativley ok... ok maybe just me... but thats not a bad thing
